Taco Bell Takes Its Taco Subscription Service National | Eater

"Introduced a $10/month subscription that gives $3 off every order, but the discount may have limited practical value since salads can be pricey and frequent diners might still spend significantly even with the savings." - Amy McCarthy

I was a bit surprised at the $25 bowl when it arrived: the basil 🌿 was just thrown in there as if it were part of the spinach (not chopped up like one would expect), the chicken was so dry - likely has been sitting out since morning, apples were browned and not fresh, small piece of avocado for $2.50 extra, and the most disappointing (and my typically favorite) the sweet potato portion was skimpy. Lots of chickpeas and pickled onion though. Barely any almonds despite also being paid extra. Quinoa was tasty though and overall flavors were good. This was a DoorDash order and it was delivered in an unsealed bag with the lid falling off - no tamper seal in sight.

Sweet Green is one of my favorite places for quick but healthy and tasty food around Tampa. Blackened chicken is my go to protein. Salmon is also great. Make sure to ask for drizzled olive oil, goat cheese, and green goddess dressing - takes the food to next level. I love taking my food and sitting by the water fountain. Also a big shout out to Aisha, every time I visit she is friendly, cheerful and genuine. She’s knowledgeable and very helpful. I appreciate her!!! 🙏🏼

Everything is okay for me, the staffs is friendly. The only thing is the food is average. But it's still good for the price we paid for. Good atmosphere tho.

Google
This place needs more staff and especially friendlier staff. The line was long and the staff obviously overwhelmed. The lady putting my bowl together seemed new and was scolded by her female co-worker (with glasses) that I could not get extra potatoes because they were out of wild rice, which was supposed to come with the bowl I ordered. No biggie; but the way she acted was so inappropriate. I used to like coming here, but not anymore. The small portion size is also not worth $18. My bowl looked nothing like the display.

Google
Staff like Gabby are the reason places struggle to keep customers. She was rude, rushed through my order, and gave noticeably small portions—half scoops of food, only a few sweet potatoes, and no substitutions for my modified order. It wasn’t just me; other customers were also talking about her poor service. Experiences like this make people not want to return.

Google
I got the hot honey mustard chicken bowl. It was not good - the chicken tasted low quality and was fatty. The sauce wasn’t good, and and I love honey mustard and hot honey so idk what’s going on with their sauce. Overall I picked at it and a little and just went without eating.

I found a rusty nail in my salad. Please look at photos.

Google
Absolute horrible service. Ordered take out at 8PM, they close at 9PM. Got there early to pick up and while waiting there were walk in customers ordering steak which I had ordered ahead of time. As I am waiting, I hear them telling the walk-in customers they are out of steak. Fast forward- I ask them about my order—- the female that was working in the kitchen prepping food came out of the kitchen and yelled at me in front of other patrons because they did not want to cook more steak as they were closing soon. Went as far to say that people usually order online (which I did) and annoyed because people come in last minute near closing time. She thought it was acceptable to yell at me and embarrass me only to offer a ‘sweet’ for the inconvenience…. The other employees even looked frightened by her. Will NEVER return and will also make sure that anyone I know does not return to this location as I am a local.

Yelp
My family and I spent a day shopping and exploring Hyde Park over the holidays. We wanted to grab a quick lunch before out appointment at a shop nearby. Everyone agreed Sweetgreen was a great option. Our group wanted to dine outside and enjoy the beautiful scenery and weather so we placed an order online for pick-up. Online ordering was pretty easy. However, after placing the order, I realized I accidentally ordered two of the same bowls, so my husband and I walked over to Sweetgreen to try and correct the order before they could complete it. The staff was really nice and was able to remove the extra bowl and refund us. It also didn't take them long to fulfill all six of our bowls. We each ordered a different bowl. I opted for the Shroomami which has roasted tofu, warm portobello mix, cucumbers, basil, shredded cabbage, roasted almonds, wild rice, shredded kale, and miso sesame ginger dressing. It was phenomenal! I love salads with lots of flavor (duh) and textures and Shroomami was definitely it! It was quite filling, too. My family couldn't stop talking about how good the food was! Can't wait for Sweetgreen to open a location in Phoenix. Hope they open one in the East Valley!

Yelp
I visited Swetgreen a few times and was never disappointed, especially if you're looking to be healthy, and I love that it's in Hyde Park! My 3 go-tos are the kale Caesar salad, harvest bowl, and the chicken pesto parm. SO happy I finally tried the ripple fries, and it was a 10/10!! It goes well with your salad, which is freshly cut potatoes that are air-fried in avocado oil and seasoned with sea salt and herbs. I had it with the pickle ketchup. Will need to try the garlic aioli next! Moving forward will always get the ripple fries with my salad.

Yelp
It's clean, fresh and tasty! Something about this place doesn't have me craving to come back. I don't know if it's because I was wishing it was Salata, or what? They have nice outdoor seating and it gets really busy during lunch! Wish they had tomato basil soup like Salata offers.

Yelp
I love this place. This business was started by 3 college age boys who wanted to provide a healthy food option for people on the go. I like that you can choose what you want to build in your salad, or just pick one of their specialty salads from the menu. This time I picked the bbq chicken and was so pleased with the flavor from the dressing and the chicken. Clean place too, considering how busy they were. And I like the filtered water on tap forming you just want a cup of water. I'd say maybe next time not having to get a security code to use the restroom would be nice, but I get it as it's in a place where you want laying customers to use the restrooms. Over all great place!

Yelp
This was my first time ordering from Sweetgreen, and I'm happy I did it through the app. I was able to see based on creating my own bowl how much it would be. There's so many items that seem to have an up-charge. My husband ordered it with them and his bowl came out to $23. Seriously, to me that was not worth it. He did like it, but yes too much when there are other bowl places around with the same items, & nothing out of the ordinary. My bowl was $18 and that's with me being more conservative with what I ordered online while the items I selected populated the price. When my bowl came out, it was half full and sparse. So portions are quite small and prices are quite high and everything you pick has a price tag on it. I'll know next time and skip this place. It's not like they specially cooked everything. Many of the items are cold so done and done here. Service was fine and friendly and ambiance was ok and comfy and cool inside while it was scorching outside. They do have options where they already concocted which will be in the bowl and you can delete toppings you don't want. That probably would have been better.

Yelp
FINALLY!!! A fast healthy, affordable alternative in Hyde Park Village! Sweet definitely describes the good folks that work here. They were so nice on greeting me and my sweet shih tzu Muffin (we ate outside) and gave her some chicken the two times I've been here. Good variety of food here, and I love how I can see how many calories each item on the menu has. Both times I've had their Kale Casaer, which is DELICIOUS. Kale, mixed greens, tomato, parm crisp, and MORE parm cheese mixed together with chicken (or any other protein you would like). You can decide if you want light amount of dressing or heavy, and they even mix it up for you the way they do at my other fave salad place Salad Station. All the ingredients mix together for a nice texture, mouth feel, and incredible flavor. Oh yeah, and I highly recommend you don't forget the Rosemary Focaccia bread on the side because you can never get enough bread. There's plenty of seating outside that's covered from the sun, so you can be cozy and comfortable with a good book. Nice to have a new regular spot in Hyde Park.

Yelp
I am addicted to their salad. There is a new salad called the Steakhouse Chopped and it is perfection. It comes with caramelized garlic steak, crispy onions, blue cheese, tomatoes, shredded cabbage, herbed quinoa, chopped romaine and green goddess ranch. All of that is yes please. I thought the steak was cooked perfectly. However, next time I need to get the dressing on the side. I asked for it mixed in and for a moderate amount (instead of light or heavy), but it was more on the heavy side for me. I loved the dressing, but I should control my own amount. I thought this place would be packed on a weekday around noon, but there were only two people in line in front of us. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. It is basically like a healthy salad chipotle. The tables seem clean and the decor is your standard open vibe. It's not terribly huge so I bet most people just grab and go. This is a great place to grab a quick bite in Hyde Park.

Yelp
Came here yesterday for a quick to-go meal for my niece and I. The service was great, the service provider was very patient with both my niece and I as we made customized bowls. She even went the extra mile and would check the ingredients of varied items as I have a mustard allergy, so a lot of the sauces were a no-go for me. Of course being in Hyde Park the location was very cute, although we opted to take our items to go they had plenty of seating options. Overall, my bowl was good I only wish our meats were warm but that's nothing a reheat won't fix. I also would love to see more "allergy friendly" sauces added to the menu in the future (but that's only a personal preference lol).

Yelp
I had a good experience last night at this Sweetgreen location. It was a busy Saturday night and a lot of restaurants were at capacity unless you had a reservation. The girl with glasses at the counter was very helpful as instead of doing a standard bowl creation they have listed I decided to do the build your own and she was patient with me. The store was overall clean but there were some tables and chairs that had some residue on them. I'm sure it had to do with how busy it was that night. Some plants and other decor would help color the place up a bit if I could make a suggestion. As far as the taste, the ingredients tasted freshly picked and I liked how there were so many options to choose when building my salad.

Yelp
Ordered the steak bowl and altered a couple of things and it was delicious. The best part, because they use clean ingredients, you won't feel bloated! Gluten free, and for the most part dairy free as well.

Yelp
Sweetgreen has no business being as good as it is! I can't get enough of their massive, full-to-the-brim salads and how flexible they are with swapping out ingredients to make a bowl vegetarian or vegan. During my most recent visit, I wanted to try the hot honey chicken bowl, but I wanted to swap out the chicken for tofu and add a bunch of kale instead of its normal base. They made the adjustments for me happily and the salad was SO good! If you've never been and aren't sure what to order, the Harvest Bowl and Hummus Crunch are crowd pleasers, so if their ingredients look like your vibe, you'll likely enjoy every bite! I know I always do! It's always squeaky clean inside, the food tastes fresh and flavorful, and I love sitting out on the patio and enjoying a breeze while I catch up with friends over our meals.

Yelp
I've been a sweetgreen fan since 2016, so trust me when I say that this location doesn't do the brand justice. I came in on Friday during lunch. They weren't busy, so the wait was very short. The young guy behind the counter was either new or just had no idea how to make a Kale Cesar Salad. I confirmed twice I wanted it how it was listed on the board and he continued to ask what I wanted and seemed annoyed at my presence. Not to mention, when I opted to just switch one of the items, I wasn't told there would be a charge for subbing an item. After paying nearly $18 for a salad, I sat and was extremely disappointed. It was so poorly done that I barely ate it. So disappointed. So much so, that here I am writing a review. Overall, I won't be returning or recommending this location. Staff needs customer service training and to learn the menu items like the back of their hand. Tipping Notice: I found it amusing that this location wants to add an 18% tip and makes it a headache for you to select zero/no tip. I don't recall this in any of my experiences at sweetgreen when I lived in the DC area, so I'm going to assume this is a Tampa thing.

Yelp
I visited this location a couple days ago with a friend for lunch. It was Monday and it was slow, and the people working were very patient with us as we figured out the bowls we were creating. I really enjoyed their tofu and the seasonal Brussels sprouts. I'm impressed with their vegan dressing options as well, I liked the cashew cream sauce a lot. They have nice outdoor seating too!

Yelp
I usually love this place so much and usually the workers are so nice but today when I went the lady was so beyond rude to me and was being so snappy, did not give me quinoa, didn't ask if I wanted sauce and just being plain out so unfriendly. I have never experienced such horrible customer service. All I wanted was quinoa but was told by this women that they didn't have any.... my friend who ordered behind me got quinoa. I hope this girl finds joy in life and maybe starts being kind to people! Tipped her exactly what she deserved... nothing.

Yelp
Sweetgreen is similar to other places where you are able to build your own bowl. They have fresh ingredients for you to choose from. The meat was a a bit bland, but edible. The workers were helpful for the most part. I unfortunately had an unpleasant encounter with the cashier when I was asking questions about my bowl, but the person who made our bowls was very kind. I really like the outdoor area they have for you to relax and eat in a shaded area. They also have a small area inside to sit in. It was nice, clean, and welcoming.

Yelp
Sweetgreen as a whole, 5 stars. This location? Sometimes it's 5 stars but more often than not it's 2 stars, if that. I don't like to leave bad reviews, especially one star, but the final straw for writing this poor review is the bowl I am currently eating. I look forward to sweetgreen for their seasonal menu items, specifically the Brussels for fall. They have been fabulous at other locations, with great texture and a light flaky crisp. The ones I'm staring at in my bowl are not only off color, they are soggy, limp, and look days old. They are warm, wet, salty and soggy. I paid extra to get 2x serving and now I'm eating around them. This was a $17 salad with no meat, and now I can't eat part of it. I also love their hard boiled eggs, they are usually warm and cooked perfectly but this one is ice cold. The sweet potatoes are very cold too, I know the "warm" sweet potatoes are an up charge but that doesn't mean the normal ones we pay for need to be freezing. They can never seem to get temperature or texture right lately at this location. If I hadn't been to other locations I would never come back to this restaurant again I posted this review, and kept eating around the bowl and found that most of the lettuce had also wilted or become so rancid that it turned into purple goo, like when lettuce is really old. I took a few pieces out for the photo but the rest was just as bad, even the good pieces had bits of lettuce goo attached to it. At this point I'm just going to throw the almost $20 bowl away and get something else for dinner

Yelp
I love the Hyde Park area ! Came in just to grab a bit to eat while I do some last minute homework ! I got the make your own bowl ! Spring mix , pickled onions , green olives , blackened chicken , tomato's , and broccoli . W/ wheat bread . OLIPOP Vintage Cola ! So good , just a quick healthy bite ! Service was A1 for my first time ! And it's a cute little restaurant in the corner with and open courtyard where you can sit if you want some sun ! Inside has sitting as well if you want to work on your laptop . I'll be back more often ! Check it out with you want something fresh and green !

Yelp
Stopped by Sweetgreen for a quick lunch, and it was exactly what I needed--fresh, healthy, and flavorful. I had the Harvest Bowl, and the combination of ingredients was just perfect. Everything tasted super fresh, and I love that they use high-quality, locally sourced ingredients. It's a bit pricier than some other spots, but for the quality and how good I felt after eating, it's totally worth it. Definitely my go-to spot when I'm craving a healthy meal!" This review is short, positive, and captures the essence of what many people appreciate about Sweetgreen.

Yelp
Last time I visited sweetgreen, I built my own bowl and was underwhelmed. This time, I decided to go for one of their curated salads and I was so glad I did! I got the BBQ chicken salad and loved every bite of it. I also grabbed a bag of their Siete collab (my favorite chip brand). It's so clean inside, the staff was friendly, and the portion was reasonable. Next time I will ask for a different mix of greens - had lots of romaine and would've preferred a spring mix or something but that's just personal preference!

Morgan J.

Yelp
Would give a zero star review if I could. Gave me terrible food poisoning on Sunday. I ordered the chicken Caesar kale salad and started feeling bad a few hours later. Yesterday I couldn't even get out of bed or hold anything down. The thought of eating this salad again makes me want to vomit. Awful.

Nicholas A.

Yelp
The bowls are always good but their mobile ordering lacks consistency. I order the same thing each time, yet they always come out different. They almost always miss stuff I add and their portions feel different every single time. The picture I posted is from an order tonight (12/14/24) and on the app I chose my dressing to be mixed in and heavy: and this is what I got. Bone dry. The dollop of dressing was only on the top (thin) layer of salad and everything underneath had zero dressing. It's not really an issue but when you're paying close to $20 for a salad, I would appreciate a little more consistency.

Yelp
I like sweetgreen for a reasonably healthful, fast casual meal. This review is for delivery. I ordered via DoorDash, and my food showed up well-packaged on my doorstep within the predicted timeframe. I got the crunchy rice bowl. I like all the crunch, and I love the strong cilantro and garlic notes. The amount of food is beyond what I can finish in a meal, but this is not a meal that keeps (unless you care less about the crunch). I feel that it's a tad too salty, but otherwise, I think it is a balanced dish. While I generally prefer to stick to local businesses, sometimes sweetgreen scratches an itch.
google avatar

Jonathan H.

Yelp
The value on a custom bowl is terrible if you eat meat or want anything other than greens and salad dressing on your bowl. Sweet Greens has an open, clean, and modern vibe. I ordered a custom salad bowl, the kale and spinach were generous portions, but every other topping that actually has calories such as protein was extra. Portions of the protein are minuscule, maybe 1.5 ounces per a serving. Sweetgreens is for vegans or vegetarians, but for people who eat meat, there are way better options.
google avatar

Sarah F.

Yelp
The food is good but it's really expensive for food that's not exactly mind-blowing. The chairs are also really loud which makes the environment kind of uncomfortable, but if you're craving AC and healthy food, might be worth the shop.

Matt B.

Yelp
Awesome quality and portions. The place is clean and the staff are welcoming. Happy to have something like this on central
google avatar

Airamiss L.

Yelp
We had a great time at this location. Tye staff was friendly and helpful. The decor is really cute and fresh looking. Outdoor seating is available and also in a nice little courtyard. I would highly recommend this place to get a healthy warm bowl or salad. They have many gluten free and vegan options available.

Yelp
Great new healthy fast casual concept in Hyde park. It's at a great location and very healthy. I've had about three bowls here and can say that it's good! The service was fast and the staff is knowledgeable. If you sign up for their app right now they offer $5 off an order. This is probably a cleaner version of the bowls concepts I've had. Not as much seasoning which is my only critique. I had the shroomami that was the only dish I did not care for. It was too bland for me. Needed more flavor. I probably liked the chipotle bowl the best ( I didn't get a picture because I scarfed it down after Barry's bootcamp). But overall a great option to try.
google avatar

Saphir S.

Yelp
I've tried sweetgreen in other cities. I think it's a good option for someone with severe allergies or food intolerances. Also, for anyone on a diet or wanting to watch what they're eating. I wasn't wowed by my salad choice (Super Green Goddess), but it was decent enough.

Stacey C.

Yelp
Clean and quick! Food was fresh and bowl was prepared quickly. Staff was helpful and friendly. Nice outdoor area to enjoy your meal.
google avatar

Morgan M.

Yelp
This place forgets something or multiple items every single time I order on door dash. I used to order weekly. Always forget my salmon, chicken, avocado. All things I pay extra for and they always forget. Will not be ordering from here on my lunch breaks anymore.
google avatar

Bethany N.

Yelp
2 stars for whoever scheduled ONE person to run the front counter for people ordering on-location on a sunday, 10 million stars for dan who ran the front counter by himself on a sunday. the wait was so long because he was all by himself, but his customer service skills are impeccable. he appeared unphased. i would have been flustered. he did not rush anyone, yet he was efficient. he was cordial. he should not have been handling all of this alone. two other ladies handled mobile orders and they were also doing the best they could, but please. please take care of your employees. it hurts my heart to give one of my favorite places 2 stars and i rarely ever write reviews; i was just so put out that someone would be left out by themself on a weekend. did someone call out? what in the world?

Sabrina P.

Yelp
Food was super disappointing. Spicy broccoli...not. Stingy with the ingredients. Not enough dressing for the kale/spinach (and I like things lightly dressed). Staff not very welcoming either. Won't be returning!
google avatar

RealtorBianka R.

Yelp
Very fresh food ! Love the choices and options at this place. The environment is very inviting and clean. The protein portion is a little small, but it reflects on prices. Highly recommended!
google avatar

Carla D.

Yelp
Very good healthy food option. We had two of their salads, the buffalo chicken salad was my favorite. I asked for the blue cheese and sauces on the side so I could add as much or as little as I wanted to. The portions were reasonable and you get a slice of bread with your order if you'd like. The service at this location was a bit slow, it looked like they were understaffed. Their jasmine green iced tea was very good and refreshing.

Emily J.

Yelp
Kat is the best employee ever!!! Went out of her way to give us a great experience. 10/10 LOVE HER
google avatar

Jaa Q.

Yelp
Wow, if I could give them a zero star I would. Everyone around here knows that this location is complete trash. They get everything wrong.

David S.

Yelp
Put in a large order for delivery to clients. Checking out and noticed a 16% fee for the service crew. There doesn't appear to be any way of removing that from the bill. Of course after that tip is included in the bill, I am to tip the delivery person on that total. I always tip the delivery drivers but not sure why I am subsidizing the inhouse people too? When we go out to eat are we to now go in the kitchen and tip the line cooks and dishwashers?
google avatar

Monea A.

Yelp
Not sure why they have such a low rating, I absolutely loved the food. I got a salad and replaced the chicken for tofu, and it was so good. The workers were very nice and the place was clean. Would def go back again!

Dennis D.

Yelp
Great tasty and healthy salads with a very wide range of options, I'm always in for the harvest bowl!! Love it that they have great kids options too! Much healthier option for those kiddos then another burger!
google avatar

Yelp
Sweetgreen's Miso Glazed Salmon was a delicious plate. The baked salmon sits atop a bed of umami-rich rice with crunchy pickled onions and cucumbers. The creamy avocado topped with crispy onions is the perfect condiment to the salmon, rice, and cucumbers. Thanks to the menu, I knew exactly how many calories (860 Cal) and protein (47g) I was intaking. I was overall impressed by their commitment to sustainability as the dish was served in compostable paper bowls; though, the water cup appeared to be conventional plastic. I chose to dine in because the tables were spaced with adequate distance between each, and outdooring dining was an option (which I elected). The atmosphere was casual with calming modern, brightly lit, aesthetic. I loved the plants surrounding the outdoor dining area. The outdoor dining provided sufficient distance from other diners to reduce the likelihood of respiratory virus transmission (COVID-19, RSV, and Flu), currently at high rates in Hillsborough county.

Cristina T.

Yelp
Love the food here! Salads are delicious and filling. The workers are always very friendly and welcoming. The only thing is sometimes on the weekends it gets busy and the line can get long and wait time is not the best.
google avatar

Yelp
So their prices are high and they nickel and dime you for everything, however the other day I was disgusted. I ordered a salad online with one dressing, and when I picked it up I said "oh I meant to do balsamic, can I have one?" Keep it mind the salad I was picking up was already made, on the to go shelf and I had asked for dressing on the side, so it was inside the bowl, the girl went to go grab it for me and then asked if I still needed the dressing that was already in my bowl. If she had said "oh another dressing will be $x" I would have been fine but it sounded like she wanted me to open my bowl, take the dressing out, and hand it back. Seriously? First of all you charged me 13 dollars for what was essentially spinach because you're so cheap with how you portion toppings but to ask for a dressing back?! I don't know if this is how sweet green operates, or if this comes from ownership/management but that is a disgusting practice.

Barbra V.

Yelp
I highly enjoyed Sweet Green. Theres a ton of seating outside and a few tables inside, upon entering I saw the place was very clean and beautiful. They have curated bowls and salads or you can customize. The staff was fabulous and knew every menu item on the top of their heads, I was amazed. The food tasted fresh and delicious. My only critique is that the bathrooms require a passcode, so you have to go ask the employees, a tad weird. Other than that, this is the perfect way to spend a healthy lunch or dinner in Hyde Park. (it's also probably the least inexpensive option)

Marcus J.

Yelp
I was deliver for door dash and received an order to pick up for this store. When I arrived to the store I looked in the area where mobile orders are placed, I didn't see the name of the person I was dashing for. I gave the name to the cashier and was told to hold on. I was asked the person's name toe more times before I was told they gave the customer's order to someone else and there was nothing we can do. No care at all for the customer that ordered food from them.

Shaunice W.

Yelp
Service was horrible, I work in Hyde Park and wanted to try it out for the first time and the black guy that works there was so rude. First off he didn't speak then I was before a woman and he asked her was she ready to order and not me and the guest politely asked me oh I'm so sorry are you ready, you can go I said no you're fine just go. Then he's at the end where the payment is at checks her out and goes to the back and never comes back. So I'm waiting then a girl who was ALREADY BUSY comes in to help me. So rude, but that just tells how he is as a person more than what he judged me to be without helping me when I did absolutely nothing just came in. Will never go back.

Chanel L.

Yelp
Definitely overpriced for the portions and the taste. The food lacked flavor but it was fresh ingredients. Besides that clean and friendly staff

Michelle M.

Yelp
The salad I got was okay, nothing special... however, soon as after I finished eating I felt nauseous.. made it home and puked nearly immediately. Thankfully I felt better after that. For a company that prides itself in healthy, clean eating it's ironic their food made me physically sick. I will never return to a sweetgreen after this experience and will warn everyone I know.

Isabelle R.

Yelp
We ordered for pick up from this location. Flavors were good (as always) but the portion size was ridiculously small for the price. I would recommend going into the store and ordering to ensure decent portioning. They also forgot to include dressing with one of our orders.
