Maryland Food - sweetgreen Serves vegan dishes 1 E Joppa Rd Space #151, Towson, MD 21286 Located in: Circle East Closes 9 PM $10–20 per person Reported by 40 people (410) 220-6900 We’re leading a movement to reimagine fast food for a new era. Our core values guide our actions and we aim to empower our customers, team members and partners to be a positive force on the food system. That’s why we’re building a transparent supply network, why we cook from scratch, and why we’re building a community of people who believe in the power of real food. We started sweetgreen as three college students who were simply looking for a healthier way to eat. When we were in school, there were two choices: food that was slow, expensive, and fresh—or fast, cheap, and unhealthy. We saw an opportunity to create a business where quality was never sacrificed for convenience. On August 1st 2007, two months after graduating, we opened sweetgreen in Washington DC, and served our first customers with a vision to reimagine fast food.

So this was a Uber Eats order that cost me 23.99 (18.99 in store) lol. I ordered this lastnight at 6:16pm and didn’t get it until 7:45 and when I got it….it was this B.S. the avocado wasn’t even ripe, I couldn’t cut it, the chicken…what chicken 😂😂😂. This was just disrespectful. Then it was a note on the receipt saying to eat the food before 10pm so I’m not sure what that was about 😂. Oh the spinach was definitely not good so I guess that explains it . If I could’ve gave this order 0 stars I would’ve. Not to mention this was my 1st time trying sweet green and definitely my last.

Google
This sweetgreen location has really improved compared to when they first opened. Portion sizes are so much better than before- they are now on par with other locations whereas before the salads from here always seemed skimpy in size. The employees are pleasant and honest. Everything is fresh. I am glad they listened because when they first opened I didn't think they were going to make it based off my own personal experiences as well as reviews. Great job for turning things around.

Google
I decided to give this place a try. This is my first and last time ordering from them. I ordered online for pick up 2 kale Caesar salads. When I got home, I see that it’s hardly any salad in the bowl. I paid $22 for 2 salads(including the $4 off coupon). Even if the two salads were combined, it’s not worth it.

Google
Found a bug in my salad. I contacted Sweetgreens Towson location about finding a bug in my salad and they refused to take ownership. Sweetgreens representative stated I would have to report the issue to Door Dash. Of course Door Dash said I needed to report the issue to Sweetgreens. Sadly no one is trying to reimburse me my money.

So good!! I got the hot honey chicken. I don’t like quinoa so I got white rice and I got the sautéed mushroom instead of the sweet potatoes. I also added some broccoli. You have to try the mushrooms because they are seasoned to perfection. They give any dish a little kick.

Google
We’ve eaten here 4 times—2 were good and 2 were awful. We kept trying b/c the food is healthy and the good experiences. Tonight was our last try. They’re skimping on salad so much. I had 3 pieces of broccoli, my husband’s salad had 2. His was missing beets. Mine came w/about a tablespoon of dressing. Dry kale. Blech. This location is truly struggling.

Google
The blackened chicken and ranch is so insanely good and the workers were efficient with my order. Not mad at the price it's about what you could expec5

Yelp
Service was quick and easy. Walked right in, reviewed the menu and placed my order. The salad are very full and tasty. I went a little heavy on the dressing but it was worth it. It wasn't too too much. I ordered the kale caesar. The parmesan crisps were my favorite topping added on. It's a real chill and quiet spot if you want to eat in.

Yelp
I returned and looked my salad! I had a custom made bowl, which I enjoyed. The lady at the service counter was friendly! This is actually surprising given some of the previous reviews I have read. There was an older gentleman working there as well and he was friendly and smiled. The place was empty and calm, which I enjoyed. I did get sick later on, but I couldn't figure out whether it was the salad or the coffee I had; I will give sweet green the benefit of the doubt.

Yelp
Paid 15 dollars and got half a scoop of chicken. Go somewhere else. Horrible portion size. The staff working there were not friendly either.

Yelp
Was given Great recommendation for a salad from an employee couldn't catch his name I think it was Brandon. Will be coming again.

Yelp
Super friendly and very helpful employees! Tasty samples of new KBBQ salads. Ended up getting it and took suggestion to substitute out steak which was very tasty for the mushrooms a personal favorite! Lively music and vibes. A+

Yelp
Great fresh ingredients! Great location! The only downside is twice I've been there they have been out of kale. I always get a kombucha to pair with my salad and be healthy!

Yelp
Came in for lunch. literally waited without being acknowledged for 20 minutes as the one person was working on mobile orders. Friday at 1 pm. that whole shift convinced me to go elsewhere.

Yelp
Not only was my order 45 minutes late...it was incorrect. There was a note on my receipt saying that they attempted to contact me but that is completely false. I never received a miss call or any form of communication from this location. On another note, the customer service representatives are phenomenal and refunded my order due to the inaccuracy and untimeliness. 5 stars for the customer support... if I could give 0 stars for the actual Towson staff I would

Yelp
Obsessed with sweetgreen. I used to be really into nalley fresh but this is so much better! The new Towson location is very convenient! Delicious fresh ingredients I can't get enough of!

Yelp
Finally got a sweetgreen near me! I have visited this place many times. The restaurant is very clean. The customer service is excellent. Every time I go there, they are very pleasant, and helpful. They have so many different varieties of vegetables. You can got a cold bowl, or warm. They have seating outside and in. The parking is hard, of course because it's Towson, and the location. I just park and walk. I say check this place out you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
Oh Towson Sweetgreen, I was so excited to have you closer to my house than the downtown location but so far it has been a true bust. I've gone 4 times and not a single time have they been open and functioning like they're supposed to. The fourth time I mentioned I had been four times with no luck and they just gave me and my wife our bowls even through their payment system was down - that's honestly the only reason this is 2 stars instead of 1. The actual salads were pretty meh compared to what I've had at other sweet greens. I hope they can iron out the many kinks and get this location up to par with the others. If they do, I'll change this to the 5 star rating I wish it was!

Yelp
I so wanted to love this place! I've been excited to check it out since it opened. I love healthier food and don't mind paying a bit more for healthy options. I went for the first time today and got a vegetarian, possibly vegan, "warm bowl" and a side of potatoes. The potatoes were great. The bowl was mostly fine though it did have a few very hard little pieces of something in it. Couldn't quite tell what they were but they didn't seem edible. That would have been OK though. Again, I really wanted to love this place, and appreciate the effort to offer healthy prepared meals with quick convenient service. The thing that bothered me definitely might not bother everyone; I'm sure some customers don't care at all about this issue. And maybe I just visited at an off time; again, I've only been there once. But personally, it's very hard for me to enjoy a meal prepared by sullen, unsmiling people who make *zero* effort to be friendly or helpful, and definitely give off the vibe that my presence is at best a mildly-annoying hassle for them. When I arrived there was no one else in line or being served. It was about 1:30 on a weekday afternoon; the place was not busy at all. I checked the menu board to make my selection, then read the sign that said to proceed to the register to order, and did that. Meanwhile the young woman behind the counter, who could easily have said a quick hello but didn't, walked to the other end of the counter, farthest from me and the register, and just stood watching me. I read the sign again to make sure I was in the right place, then when she made no move toward me, I asked, "Am I supposed to order at the register?" Her: "No." Again, she's not busy doing anything else. She is literally just standing there watching me. Yet she doesn't bother to explain what I am supposed to do, much less explain why they posted incorrect instructions. Just "no". I'm not sure how well I can capture this in a Yelp review, but the vibe was definitely cold and unwelcoming. Like she resented working there and further resented my walking in and needing her to do something. Of course this vibe is not limited to Sweetgreen. I see it at other places too, like Chipotle and Panera. Again, I know plenty of people are unfazed by this. For me though, it makes for an unpleasant experience that I'm not eager to repeat.

Yelp
Service problems here. I waited 20 minutes at the front of the line for someone to take my order or even acknowledge my presence. Yes they were slammed with online orders but I saw the staff make eight salads that came in online after I arrived before anyone said a word to me. Unfortunately a fairly common occurrence during the lunch rush. I don't have 30-40 minutes to wait for food on a weekday.

Yelp
As a Towson native I'm always curious when I see new food spots pop up lol. I've had sweetgreen in the past but in Philly. This location is clean, the staff was very friendly and my salad was amazing! Not a fan of the green tea (will stick to water next time).

Yelp
Eating here a third time because I really want to like this restaurant. Was happy with my salad until I noticed someone hadn't removed the sticker from a cucumber before chopping it up for the salad, so I may have eaten some sticker during this meal before noticing it...

Yelp
I did a 'create your own' bowl and was very pleased with the results. The quality of ingredients is great and they have lots of interesting options. I'll def be back. I appreciate that the ingredients and allergens are very clearly labeled on their website.

Yelp
This place has poor customer service, the staff didn't greet us and took their time providing service. Not to mention you receive extremely small portions for the money. I would not recommend this place even a little bit.

Yelp
This new salad place in Towson is pretty delicious! All the ingredients seem fresh and they have really good combinations of greens, grains, carbs, and protein. Warm bowl was interesting in a good way. Never had warm rice with salad before but I liked it way more than I thought. Will definitely come back!

Melissa D.

Yelp
I really love Sweetgreen but have had multiple bad experiences with the store as well as the app. Tonight's - received my harvest bowl and the rice was completely raw. Not underdone but - Uncooked! Unfortunately due to the risk of food poisoning from raw rice my dinner was inedible. I went to let them know and true to form was unable to reach a person at the store. When I went to rate my order the app informed me it had already been rated ?? as I didn't do this. Two a few weeks ago I ordered online and the app put the wrong salad in the cart. I tried to cancel but by the time I was routed from the phone to the chat to my email back to the app they claimed it was too late and I could no longer cancel. The next time I ordered again three salads were incorrectly added to the cart. I was able to remove them from the cart but it took multiple tries and happened with each item I tried to order. Additionally there is absolutely no where to pull over to pick up the order making it a two person job - one to run in the store and one to drive around the block. For reference I am 45 yo. and while not a computer programmer, I am capable of using apps that function correctly. I was refunded both times for the mishaps but i was looking for dinner!

Yelp
ordered via uber eats. food arrived in an open bag. no tape/no staples. my food containers were not secured. suprised my food did not spill. again zero level of security of respect for my food. called the store but they were closed. uber eats says my refund will take 3-5 days. never again

Yelp
1. I do not wanna be served by unhappy people who are transferring that energy to my food. 2. I don't like paying for quality items and getting trash 3. I work too hard for my money to give to somebody else it doesn't appreciate my presence They need to work on their customer service I'm gonna tell everybody about this store location.

Yelp
I will preface this by saying I love sweetgreen but this location skimps on portions for literally everything. I only got a half scoop of most of the ingredients and had to ask for more kale in the kale Caesar because the bowl was less than half full. Go to the Harbor East location. It's exponentially better.

Alyson T.

Yelp
What you get is not what you see online. They short you on your food (happened to me 3 times in a row - no more chances). I can get an over priced salad somewhere else with twice as much food and just as healthy for the same price if not less. It's a real bummer because I used to eat sweetgreen all the time when I live in NYC (and they do a fantastic job) and was really excited to see something healthy and quick finally make its way to Towson. I hope they fix their act because their flavors and dressings are great but regardless this location is struggling. Not worth it.

Jimmy P.

Yelp
This place is sweet. It is green. The food is great. Try it out! I wish I would have tried before.

Kalee H.

Yelp
ordered & the food was 25 minutes late so the store closed & then they just cancelled my order?

April M.

Yelp
I was excited about having a location in Towson. A few weeks ago, I went into the location around 12 and was told they were doing online orders only. Never heard of this so I left. The next week, I ordered through the app. When I went to pick up my order at the time given, it wasn't ready. I waited an additional 15 minutes for them to mix my salad. The salad was good until I got to the bottom and there was a long piece of hair. Stuff happens. So I gave it one more chance. I went in there this past Monday around 11:30 to order a Harvest bowl. I was told the Kale wasn't ready. Very disappointing.

C D.

Yelp
I love Sweetgreens but the service at Towson location is awful. I went in 30 mins before closing. They had already put 75% of the food away. I had to piece together a salad based on what little they had and then was charged a La carte for each item. The bowl was only half full and I was charged $22.00. I left without my salad.

Meegan G.

Yelp
I would give the food a 4/5 and the service a 1/5. The salads were delicious however our food was ready later than expected. We did not get the bread we ordered or dressing. When we asked the worker for the dressing and bread they were rude and snappy.

Yael N.

Yelp
very yummy, but they are a little pricy and every extra item costs money. they are efficient and didn't make us wait long till serving

T N.

Yelp
I want to like this spot but it seems a little bit too fancy for me. I gave them 5 try-outs without settling into this reaction. I also think the staff might do well to embrace the wider world of what salad consumers want for a quick lunch that keeps the line moving. I want to be that easy to please repeat customer but whenever i've ordered just a regular Caesar salad, i'm always left to puzzle through with the salad-makers and the cashier both: what a Caesar salad is supposed to be and what it should cost. At Sweetgreen I have come to expect a regular Caesar salad costs between $9.50-$10.50 depending on whether it's the on-menu kale-Caesar (without kale) or a "build your own" choosing ingredients typical of a Caesar salad you might find at your local grocery or other chain restaurant. So explaining the rating above: the ingredients were great, fresh, unique; the service was decent but a little confused, and friendly but borderline snooty; the cost was very high for what I wanted to achieve; time of service was in every case too long due to needing to explain what should really be a no-brainer. I think if you work at sweetgreen you should know what a Caesar salad is and if you are corporate sweetgreen you should offer some kind of value-menu Caesar salad to someone who just wants to pop in and grab a quick lunch. The toughest part of the fix seems to be the high price in large part because of the staffing costs for this location: maybe they could teach the salad fixers how to make a salad then ring it up too which would cut back on one employee? The cost of a regular Caesar without protein is about $7 around the corner at the much fancier sit-down Bonefish Grill. It's about the same size, I can get it quickly at the bar and it is the delicious regular Caesar I expect: so that is where I will be going.
