I have been a loyal customer but what is this service charge sweetleaf??? I understand this is bad economy, but you can not automatically charge people for “service fee” at a coffee shop, especially when it’s just a takeout order. Also your barista today is very rude, when I ask her what is it she rolled her eye and said “I don’t know what it is it’s just there today” and then I said “are baristas gonna get this money or the store?” She replied she will get the money. Her speech is not consistent. If you don’t know what is this fee then why would you know the money will goes to you? I’m posting this not because of the money, but this barista’s attitude and your lack of transparency on coffee price. Will spread the word and won’t come back ever again.

Absolutely love this place. The "rocket fuel" is incredible; I get it every time but everything else on their coffee menu is great as well! Today I had the almond croissant and the heaven I experienced inspired me to finally write a review. Go Go Go!

This beautiful small cozy coffee in a high foot traffic spot area is definitely the place to be if you’re seeking a quick bite to eat and Coffee to start your morning. After exiting the 7 train, I immediately opened Yelp searching for a local coffee shop in Long Island City. Now I’m never in Long Island City nor do I come around. But this time I wanted to make it worth it. I came across Sweet Leaf and they definitely blew me away. The quality the various options of fresh baked goods and coffee beverages. I knew for a fact I started my morning just right after visiting. The bathroom were clean, the dining area was clean. My experience overall with my meal…. Perfect! The staff was great. Do you want coffee? We’ll look no further! What more can I say? Please support the locals !!

One of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had! $10. Quick turn around time on a busy weekday morning.

Loved the coffee here. Plenty of choices for drinks available. Great ambience and atmosphere. The staff was great and helpful. The murals, photography, music playing in background and art were amazing. I loved my experience here and definitely recommend this place.

Sweetleaf Coffee is one of my favorites in NYC but it was my first time visiting their location here in LIC. It’s definitely a perfect addition to the neighborhood. We had their 2 packs of coffee bean with 25% discount and a slice of handmade loaf. It was little disappointing that no free coffee with the purchase of coffee bean. The interior decor is elegant and cozy but indoor dining was not available. The capacity was also limited during the pandemic since it is narrow-spaced.

The person at the counter has terrible customer service skills. Firstly, no greeting, my advice to the owner you need to do more to hire competent/friendly staff. Issue description: Ordered 2 slices of banana walnut cake priced at $3.75 each (see image - attached evidence), the unfriendly employee rings me up for $4.00 each. When I point out the obvious price discrepancy (as a matter of principle) he says he can't do anything and then proceeds to try and argue his way out. I mentioned instead of arguing with a customer find a way to correct the issue. I got some incoherent response. So I ask for the manager and guess what? No surprise, the manager was not helpful either. I'm definitely not going to recommend this location to anyone.

Cozy little cafe with a bathroom and wifi! Their peppermint mocha latte was decent, but strawberry matcha tasted watered down. It's a cute place to catch up with friends, but not very ideal for working. Their tables are small, and there are no outlets besides one at the very front of the cafe.

Good coffee, friendly staff and a cool vibe! The name of the shop is an ode to a Black Sabbath song and you're immediately greeted by a mural of the band upon entry. Pretty cool! I went here on a Sunday morning and the staff greeted us right away. I saw their "Pump Rock" special - housemade pumpkin spice syrup with their Rocket Fuel cold brew and milk. I was instantly intrigued so decided to order that. My boyfriend opted for the Americano. The wait for our drinks was super speedy, which was great. We decided to grab a seat in their seating area, which was small for a coffee shop that offers food. The space was decorated with music items and had a mural of Louis Armstrong and several Black Sabbath albums on the wall. Both drinks were tasty! The "Pump Rock" drink had great pumpkin flavor but was a tad too sweet so I jjust added more milk to it, which was on the counter. Overall, a great spot for coffee!

Came here for a stop after lunch at Tacombi in LIC. It was nice and warm and quiet inside, perfect for a tea or coffee. I got the Rooibos tea. It was fine. Pretty cozy with the bulb lights and small couch seating. Bathroom was pretty nice and big. I'm not in the LIC area often, so I probably won't be back, but it was a nice place to stop in, have a coffee and tea, and warm up from the cold winter day. Cool hip vibe. Service was fine. No complaints. I think I was there close to closing time, so maybe they turned off any music, but it was really quiet the time I went. Nice to catch up with a coffee buddy and have a quiet moment in a warm cafe. I like the name Sweet leaf, a nice name for a cafe.

I enjoyed the proximity of this cafe of where I need to go/be. Coffee is decent, matcha is good. I was most disappointed in the salmon toast, though I was surprised by the accompanying fruit. They said it would take about 20 minutes to make. The result of this 20 minute toast is a bit less desirable than what I imagined. Perhaps I should've gone for the egg hash instead. The Interior space is cozy and the seating is comfortably spaced out. This is a great spot to wait for the bus. Coffee 4/5 Food 2.5/5 Ambulance 5/5

Popped in for a quick Americano. The coffee was excellent, the staff friendly, the place was spotless, and they were quick. Not much else you could want Given I had places to be, the whole experience was greatly appreciated

Was walking around with my daughter the area looking for my morning drink and found this nice place!!! I walked in and was immediately greeted and it was nice to feel welcome. My daughter chose the cappuccino and I chose chai with oat milk. I taste tested the cappuccino omgggg it was yummy! My drink was delicious too. I'm coming back to try other beverages and maybe sit down and enjoy some food too!! Thank you for the great experience!!

Argh possibly one of the worst matcha lattes I've ever had. I imagine their recipe went something like, step 1: make a matcha latte; step 2: pour 50% of it out and replace with cold water; step 3: further dilute with ice. Seriously, though: my drink just had no flavour - not the matcha nor the milk, only a very watery shadow thereof. It was a surprise at first because visually it did look really appealing :( Anyways, it was really disappointing - and for over $6? Don't think I'll be back. Interior was also a bit lacking in my opinion; seating was somewhat limited, and many of the seats were either small chairs/tables or a rather uncomfortable booth. Also it was ridiculously hot when I went for some reason. All in all, not quite suitable for working/chatting in a café either.

Had the breakfast burrito which had fresh onions, tomato, and pepper along with a creamy dipping sauce. Extremely good. Paired that with my standard coffee shop order of an Oatmilk Latte. Both were amazing and the music, seating and overall vibe were terrific.

Extremely polite and friendly all the time, even when I've popped in for a coffee ten minutes before closing. Relatedly, they will always be the GOAT for staying open until 7! The voodoo child and strawberry tea are both such treats.

I've been buying coffee in liquid and bean form from Sweetleaf for 15 years. If you like a medium roast with chocolate flavor notes then I highly recommend their Slap Shot blend. I buy it 5 pounds at a time and everyone who has tried it has loved it.

If you need a real pick me up hit them up for a Rocket Fuel or a Voodoo Child, just remember to hold on after drinking one. If you've never had one take small sips and drink slowly. Fast service, staff is super friendly.

They do have a loyalty program - I just never got the card! Make sure to ask. Almond croissant is delicious and fluffy. Soy latte on point and consistent again.

As of April 2021: Here I am again and same review as 2019, however, there are NO outlets apparently. Social distancing/limited seating inside due to COVID-19 safety. So for all you laptop digital nomads, I cannot recommend working here for hours straight. But the coffee, pastries, and vibe is still good.

This location rocks! I went in after countless attempts to find a great coffee spot in Queens, everything so far has failed. Bad taste, too much foam for a latte, no separation between the espresso and the milk. So, I was greeted as soon as I walked in by the barista which was amazing. the shop is small but that's fine, an amazing latte will easily make the lack of a lot of space ok. I ordered a caramel latte and in a few minutes this is what I received. I took the first sip and my goodness, I fell in love. The milk was smooth, not too much foam. The espresso was deep, with a bitterness. The syrup, tasted like Caramel which in combination with the other two, made it amazing. I've since then tried two of their other locations. Asked for oat milk in my cold brew and wasn't aware I had to fill it up myself. Went to the area where milk is supposed to be, and when I told the lady working that they were out, I was met with nothing but a shrug. 1/5 stars for the minimal effort-- let's get some staff over here that actually cares about customer service.

***Recommend their herbal tea, Indoor/outdoor space, Great pricing*** I got the turmeric ginger herbal tea and it was very delicious. There's space to sit outside and indoors. Super affordable and service was especially quick.

I would have given a one star but this place gives me mixed feelings. I would say the weekend staffs treated me a lot worse than the weekday staffs. There is one person I noticed who also works during weekdays and he is absolutely friendly. The others work during the weekend shifts are terrible. They can mess up the same order three times in a roll. Coffee is not bad but would prefer to visit during weekdays

Solid coffee shop with friendly employees. There are Sweeteafs all over LIC, but this is the one closest to my new apartment, and I've visited a few times since moving in. Cold brew and flat white are both decent. Also tried the specialty drinks, Rocket Fuel and Voodoo Child, which were way too sweet for my taste but definitely yummy. Have only tried one pastry so far - the banana bread - which was only alright (little dry).

Cute little coffee shop in LIC. I work in the area and this spot has replaced my daily Starbucks runs. They have plenty of regular and unique drink options, from coffee to specialty lattes and herbal teas. Also amazing pastries that are also gluten free which is always a win for me! I highly recommend the rocket fuel, maple latte and the herbal teas. They also make a great matcha and chai latte which isn't pre-sweeteneed like many other shops out there, although a little on the pricier side Staff is really sweet and friendly - they always strike up a conversation if you're down. I also like that there is plenty of seating indoors in case you want to get some work done or just grab coffee with a friend Overall I highly recommend. One of the better coffee shops in the area

Cute coffee shop! I stopped by in the morning to get some iced tea and the staff was friendly and nice. There is plenty of seating - a great place to come and chat with a friend.

Wonderful unexpected find! Rocket fuel 'unique and fabulous' were words my 21 year old said. I had regular drip coffee and it was equally great. Overnite oats were really good. I would add fresh fruit to sweeten a bit but I'm southern...sweet is my middle name! ;)

I try to be local, especially in LIC, but a major drawback is no outlets to charge electronics. As a writer, I need that. Cute decor, great prices, and Baristas beyond belief otherwise.

Sweatleaf coffee is still open ! But they close pretty early , I believe 1pm. So if you're a coffee addict like me and need to go for a short walk or something, this place is open during this time . Barista was friendly and made my drink pretty quick. I ended up getting the voodoo iced coffee, which is amazing!

This Sweetleaf location is much smaller than other ones. There are outdoor seating area available now but no heater. Take-outs only. In general their coffee is ok but I wouldnt recommend matcha latte.

This is a cute little coffee shop with no seating and kickass brews. I stopped by for a cup of iced coffee, which was a little pricey at $4.50 a cup. However, I could tell this coffee was brewed with coffee beans of superior quality. Just a few sips gently woke me up. There was no bitter taste at all. They sell lots of merch and locally roasted beans that are fresh. I'll definitely be back to try their other drinks and to pick up some beans to brew on my own at home!

Loved the maple cold brew with oat milk here! The perfect pick me up before a work day in the city. The coffee was nice and smooth and I love that they have additional milk containers with alternatives that you can add if your coffee is too strong. Would definitely come again!

Great coffee quality with daily varieties that make it fun to drink coffee. I had some really delicious bite-size sweets from this place and it coupled of black ice coffee perfectly. I like coming here because I know I'm always going to get a great cup of black coffee the way I like it.

Just to be honest, I came here looking for a bathroom (and obviously I'll order something for that privilege) and my needs were met. But now because I ordered drink, I will OBVIOUSLY lounge around for a little bit. Just a little bit. And Sweetleaf is perfect for lounging. Wifi available. A couple of tables for our laptop users. A couple of couches our cellphone users. And outdoor seating for our people watchers. (Took off a star because I ordered a matcha latte and it tastes like seaweed....too much like seaweed)

Yay! A Sweetleaf much more convenient to get to! Happy that this location finally opened earlier this year. We've been regulars since. Love their New Orleans style cold brew which I recreate at home in the summer. Great espresso as always. Wish they had more food options though..

Walked in on a cold, rainy morning to catch up with a friend, and I loved how cozy it was! We ordered 2 pastries (I didn't taste it but one was pumpkin pound and the other was coffee cake) and 2 maple leaf latte- perfect for the fall! Drinks were delicious and the latte art was beautiful. Will return!

After walking by an unopened, under construction Sweetleaf for a year, they finally opened and I got to finally try it out. When walking in, the first thing you notice is the space; it is pretty nice. There is a sort of dividing wall between the cash register/coffee bar area and the seating area. The seating area is pretty spacious. I went on a weekend morning, and it wasn't too busy and was easy to get a seat. I wonder how it is at other times. The seats are only along the walls with the center of the room pretty open; it makes for a very spacious feel while sacrificing seating. It wasn't a problem when I went, but has the potential for no available seats at other times. About the space, you also notice the art. The walls are inspired by street art and create an urban feel to the place and, couple with the grungy and punk music that was playing, it was a somewhat unique experience that fit my tastes pretty well. On to the coffee. This place is a bit pricy. In my opinion, prices could be knocked down 50 cents and it'd be perfect. We tried a cappucino oat milk and a Voodoo Child. The cappucino wasn't bad, but could have been better. Was a little bit too bitter. Maybe this was because of the oat milk, not sure. The Voodoo Child was really good, but this is a dessert drink. It is cold brew Vietnamese-style. In other words, it has condensed milk and sweet cream in it. It tastes very good, but is very sweet. If you aren't a fan of sweet drinks, try something else. I loved it, though. Overall, Sweetleaf was nice. I spent the morning there reading and enjoying the music and a nice, sweet cold brew. The priciness keeps me from giving it top marks, but if you are okay with shelling out a little more for coffee, Sweetleaf is definitely a nice place to hang out. I recommend hanging out there more than coffee to go. You could get just as good or better coffee for less. The price of Sweetleaf is for the whole experience.

It's a nice cafe to work, study or hang out. The interior is super nice and the seating area is pretty spacious. But the drinks were a bit pricey and they tasted just okay for me. It's very close to Queens plaza station. The service is good too. Other than their drinks, I like here and I might come back since it's so close to my place.

I had a gross morning starting with this place...07/26 got a vegan bread/loaf (pecan, carrot, peach?), the expiration date on it was 07/30. The flour was fallen apart, chewed like powder. After two bites I noticed there was a cluster of mold in the middle edge (ewwwww). I went back into the store and told the cashier about this. She said "oh you can get another one" with a "whatever" face. withOUT single word of apology

It's located just outside the 59th street Bridge and surprisingly found parking immediately. Great coffee and dude behind the counter is a true barista -- We'll be back! (I'm use to coffee with a little sugar, but I'm off sugar and it was still great!)

Worth the wait! I got a maple leaf latte it was DELICIOUS! My friend had breakfast and the portion was huge, only complaint is that the hash brown was cooked in a microwave but coffee was great highly recommend!

Over priced, worst coffee I have ever tasted period. Came in for just a normal cup of coffee and a Late for my girlfriend. Coffee tasted old and had literal chunks in it. I asked the barista for a new cup and was told it would be the same quality. My girlfriends late was average and cost about 10 dollars which is insane. Baristas at the register are entitled hipsters who felt the need to make their political beliefs known to me. Please stay away from this awful place.

Having Sweetleaf near my work has been a lifesaver! I don't drink coffee often because it makes me jittery but I've never had that feeling from their coffee. My go-to is the Rocket fuel and it is sooo amazing (cold brew with milk and maple syrup) I just love the taste of it. I also tried the matcha latte and excited to try other signature drinks from their menu.

This new Sweetleaf is amazing! My new home away from home! I do love the idea of supporting local businesses, and try to do so as much as possible. The baked goods and coffee are both spot on. The staff was efficient and friendly, a favorite combo of mine. Definitely plenty of photo opportunities!

I've been trying to cut out dairy, and I'm failing miserably. I'm blaming Sweetleaf. The Voodoo Child is quite possibly my favorite coffee ever. Cold brew mixed with sweetened condensed milk and sweet cream makes for the silkiest, most indulgent Vietnamese-inspired caffeine fix. I tried to switch it out once for an iced Americano (my usual go-to at other places), and it tasted a little too watery for my liking, even with an extra shot, so I'm gonna stick with the cold brew.

This cafe is a gem in the rapidly growing parts of LIC. This location is an ode to Queens, and the locals can feel it. Upon entering, you stumble upon a floor-to-ceiling 5 Pointz creation with quintessential symbols and people of Queens. Given the history behind the destruction of 5 Pointz, I think any Queens local can appreciate the deeper meaning behind this coffee shop addition. I try to support small businesses as often as I can, especially in developing areas. I realize they have a tough line to walk -- the desire to appeal to the masses, alongside the desire to stick to one's small business values. The cafe has that "mom and pop" feel, with baristas who remember who you are, and with regulars whom you begin to recognize. Here, they pay attention to small details. They perfect the coffee they roast themselves, they consider their customers' dietary restrictions when baking goods and purchasing milk alternatives, and they playfully create drinks like Strawberry Iced Tea and the Voodoo Child. This, all of this, is what I can get behind.

I came here this week excited to enjoy a coffee. I ordered a $4.50 iced coffee. When I went to pay I was told there is a $5 min for credit card. As I did not have cash on me at the time, I left and went to a coffee shop that accepts cards for transactions for all amounts. Hopefully they change this policy so non cash customers (a lot of people) can enjoy their coffee.

Great coffee and decor. A little pricey compared to other coffee shops, but it's in one of the most expensive rental building in the area. Next to Murray's Cheeses (whenever it finally opens!). Some very unique drinks here: Vietnamese cold brew and rocket fuel. I never remember which one I get, but it's the sweeter one. Super delicious and concentrated. They also have pastries. Day-old pastries are very cheap. Have never tried them but they don't look very different than the day-of pastries. Cons: Not a lot of space to sit, but you can always take a nice walk to the waterfront. Music is a little loud for studying + no outlets in the sitting area for laptops.

Smooth, smooth cold brew! Hits the spot on a hot day. My only complaint is that it's in LIC and I live in Manhattan!!!
