Dutchman’s vs. Swig: Who Invented Utah’s Pink Sugar Cookie? | Eater

"A regional soda chain known for syrup-spiked “dirty sodas” and flavor-forward drinks (the Raspberry Dream is a top seller) that added a homemade-style pale pink sugar cookie to its menu after modeling it on the small Santa Clara bakery’s cookie. When that bakery was shuttered temporarily by a 2012 flood, the chain developed and refined its own recipe to keep up with demand, expanded baking into a larger Salt Lake City operation, and scaled distribution across dozens of locations in Utah and Arizona — turning the frosted cookie into a widely recognized, heavily copied item and spawning many online copycat recipes. As the brand grew, some longtime customers noted the cookie’s shift toward a more manufactured texture versus the original’s handmade look, creating a tradeoff between broad availability and small-bakery authenticity." - Carlye Wisel

Every swig location I’ve been to the staff if friendly and doing their hardest to get everything out that was made on time. Love the energy mix drinks and now one of my new favorites the pumpkin please frozen hot chocolate. So delicious.

Went in and ordered. All of a sudden a constant wave of traffic kept piling through the drive through. Ended up waiting 30 minutes, for them to fill up 1 soda pop. Didn’t know it took that long.

The service is always fast and the employees are polite and happy. My only complaint is the pretzel bits are a little hard sometimes. But the sodas are delicious and so are the cookies!

Definitely not good for you but loved my experience! What’s a trip to Utah without trying a dirty soda? I got the Waikiki and some cinnamon sugar bites.

I love swig for plain waters (sometimes with lemon) BUT they can’t get their pricing right. Sometimes I’m charged less than a dollar and today they wanted over $3. I tried to explain how they usually put it in but she wouldn’t even go inside to check to see if she was putting it in correctly. I’m not paying over $3 for a plain water without ice. Yes, plain water not a refresher.

First time coming to swig and asked for recommendations..... Don't do that they don't like to offer suggestions. Be ready to know what you want to order and be fast! They are not here for customer service just to pour your drink and rush you on your way. Incredibly disappointing.

I got my Swig Shark Attack today and I was blessed! I added coconut cream to my combo which came recommended by the lovely staff taking my order. Got the soft blue shark gummy to top it off! Also received warm, mini chocolate chip cookies for showing up. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Great location and service! My only complaint is sometimes they forget to mix the drink with their stirring spoon so syrup sits at the bottom and the first sip is pure syrup. Easily solved with a stir from the straw but that first sip is gross!

Yelp
Nice spot for some novelty soft drinks! I came here the other afternoon with my friends after a day of skiing, it was not too crowded, and the wait staff was friendly and welcoming, as well as patient, as we took our time looking over the menu. It's a cute spot, light bright decor. It's nice that you can get a 12oz kids size but they do serve as large as 44oz. I went with the pretty in pink, others in our party got the island time and just peachy refreshers. Price wise, you can't beat- a couple bucks for a small drink. I liked my friends drinks more than my own, but this was a cool twist on a classic. Would also make a great mixer for some adult drinks too!

Yelp
44oz Guava Have it... One drink takes 5 mins to make... if you have 2 drinks it takes 8 mins... 3 ingredients...

Yelp
You have to really love soda to go here. It was too sweet for me even asking for less pumps. Fun concept and it's obviously very popular.

Yelp
This location has nice staff. I order flavored water and it's great. This has become a daily habit but, at least it's water.
