Fantastic local coffee shop with vegan brunch and lunch items! I’m a complete coffee snob and proud of it. I have my go-to spots and am usually a little nervous to try new spots because they often disappoint. The food and coffee at Switchback was perfect. I got the avocado toast with no egg. It was creamy, flavorful, and the bread was delicious. The coffee made my heart happy. Lovely texture, great balance of flavor, and not too acidic. I often find coffee shops go with really fruity and what my palate translates as acidic coffee. I prefer a darker roast with notes of chocolate and toffee. I left a happy camper! The setting wasn’t relaxing but nonetheless enjoyable. The patio and entire coffee shop was packed the day I went, which I think is a norm for this place. Lots of pups on the patio, too! Service here was good. Everyone was friendly, food and coffee came out quickly, and it all tasted top notch. I’d absolutely go back when I’m in Colorado Springs and would definitely recommend to others!

Google
Fantastic local neighborhood coffee shop with the ambiance and hospitality you crave. Curated selection of loose leaf teas as well as great coffee and matcha etc. Pastries, avocado toast and breakfast sandwiches make it a great brunch spot. I was lucky enough to go on Saturday for their french toast weekend special! Superb patio as well as light and airy in door tables for groups small to large make this a great neighborhood or in the area place to grab a drink and a quick bite.

Google
What a cute place with a relaxing vibe. The coffee is smooth and flavorful with bakery style menu options out. Great find.

Google
I've tried to avoid writing this, thinking every time I come in that my last trip was a one off. It's local so I desperately want them to be good, but yesterday I went and got a cup of drip coffee (over $5 a cup?) That came out barely warm. The barista said they aim for 190 degrees but I've sat in hot springs warmer. Additionally, they told me they don't serve sugar. No packets or anything. They do have a mountain of stevia, but why not sugar? Especially when they charge you 75 cents for some brown sugar syrup? There's no principle behind it, they just aren't fully serving their customers. The plants are all dying as well. Last time I was there I filled a cup with water and gave a couple a drink. It's sad. The best part is a generally friendly staff. There needs to be better communication with them, though because no one likes cold coffee.

Love this place! We have two little kiddos and the barista right away let us know that they had high chairs. Great service, great food and great coffee! Yum!

Google
I’m so happy this place was close to our airbnb while we were in town! We came back multiple times for breakfast and it was always great. French toast specifically was some of the best I have had!

Google
This place used to be a must visit. A few years ago it was lively. It had plants cascading everywhere, it had a variety of tasty foods for carnivore to vegan. But things had only changed for a negative over the years. Plants are just dead sitting on shelves or gone. The food options are now “grab-and-go” with a limited timeframe to have the kitchen cook and few options to select from that menu. The food has cut so many corners. Special aspects like “pickled onions” are gone. Garnish is skipped. The breads are basic. The “grab-and-go” options are bland. They suggest that they sandwich has “oven roasted turkey” but it is just deli meat. They are cold, flavorless. I spent approximately $90 for a meal for three that was worth throwing in the garage. I hope management can hear these cost are creating a negative experience, but I don’t think I would even be back at this point to see what they are doing anymore. This place is no longer with the treat.

Nice space to meet friends, coffee date or work. Good food and coffee. Very friendly and cheerful staff.

Yelp
Nice coffee shop with local roasting. Friendly, knowledgeable and good coffee. Recommended.

Yelp
Absolutely loved this little coffee shop! I got the honey matcha--it wasn't too sweet, just the right balance, and so yummy. I'm visiting from California and it came highly recommended--and now I see why! The shop has a super homey feel, staff is friendly and knowledgeable, nothing fancy inside, but it gives cozy, comforting vibes. Plenty of seating, too. Definitely a cute spot I'd come back to!

Yelp
You ever get a 19 sleep number on your bed...?!?! It took a real special sort of night. The type where you get home from work and fall into bed at 130a then get the worse food poisoning imaginable for several hours and your alarm goes off in the 5a hour to get up and hit LAX on the "busiest travel day of the year". That my friend is how you achieve a 19! That being said, by the time I flew to Denver, rented a car and drove to Colorado Springs I was in desperate need of a latte. I made it to Switchback by 230p before they closed on Sunday. I was only in town for 20 hours to celebrate my sons birthday and spend some time with him and if not for this pumpkin spice latte that brought me back to life I wouldn't have been able to get into celebration mode. I really do believe Switchback is the best coffee in town. Consistently outstanding at different locations. I'm so thankful they were open. Fantastic service. I sat there for a moment to enjoy my latte before driving to my son's place. If I lived nearby this would be my everyday coffee spot. Highly recommend.

Yelp
This place surprised me. So many seating options at tables, the bar, outside, etc. Many different spaces for reading or talking or studying. Their avocado toast was amazing! Love that they had food options.

Yelp
What a cute place for coffee in CO Springs! The design of the cafe was super cute and the barista was friendly and patient with us! Their menu is a little limited but the coffee and avocado toast and croissant were delicious! Def check them out!

Yelp
Found this coffee shops just walking the neighborhood and it was so cute! The food and the drinks were great! We sat outside and enjoyed the nice weather.

Yelp
They don't have regular packet sugar..... the coffee is mid would rather have Folgers...service sucks too

Yelp
Drip coffee was fantastic! They have an awesome mission to make a cup of coffee accessible to everyone. When you pay for your coffee, you have the options to pay what you can, the price of the coffee, or the price of the coffee plus a few cents more to pay forward. This kind of mission makes me want to come back. Sandwich was great! The English muffin was a little dense which is not my personal preference but it was tasty. Employees were super nice. Lots of seating and big windows. We had not been here in years and came to work today and will definitely be coming back.

Rebekah L.

Yelp
Saw that this place was in the lower priced range buuuut it was not. The asthetic is nice, and the breakfast sandwich was pretty good! However the coffee was a different story. It tasted very burnt and watered down which was disappointing. I don't know why yelp put this as lower priced area as with 3 adults who ordered 3 drinks, 2 sandwiches and 1 Danish tart, it was 60$ in total. With that kind of pricing I'd expect just a liiiiitle more care into their drinks.

Yelp
Went to this cute little coffee spot today! The ordered the avocado toast and it delicious! The best part was the spicy green sauce it came with! I also ordered the matcha oat milk latte and it was great! Overall a cute spot and it's a good spot to work from to!

Yelp
Great coffee. Good vibe. It's nested in a neighborhood. This place is always packed. They have vegan/gluten free baked goods

Yelp
My experience: underwhelming. The coffee was bitter like the attitude I encountered at the cash register. Not sure why. I am, however, certain this was my first (and last) visit to this business. Another employee seemed to try and compensate for their coworker's shortcomings and huffiness. At least there was that. When in Colorado Springs, I rarely venture east of Tejon and will not make the trip again.

Yelp
My first impression of this shop came from the decor and seating areas. There are plenty of seating options both inside and outside. Although the outside seating is on the street, it is enclosed in a way that feels safe without impeding the perks of being outside. The next thing I noticed and enjoyed was the friendly barista. She was friendly and provided great service by asking about my day. By the time my coffee came (Brown Sugar Latte), I was already sold on this shop. The latte is everything I except from well crafted lattes - smooth frothed milk, rich espresso, and the right amount of flavor from the syrup. All in all, I'd be all too happy to spend more days here.

Yelp
Solid cup of coffee, hefty breakfast sandwich. Almost too big, not that it's a bad thing. Service was quick and they brought the food and drink right over. Price was competitive - paid $13 for my breakfast sandwich and americano. it was a little echoey and hard to focus on my meeting as well as the temp was pretty low. I didn't have great service and could connect on my phone. Their wifi might have been faster but I didn't try that. overall, would recommend!

Yelp
Service was quick and easy. The cortado is the best out of the other 5 coffee shops/roasters I've been to, in Colorado Springs so far. I've ordered cortados at other places, and they were sour and bitter. The cortado here was perfect without sourness, and you can taste all the notes of the beans. I didn't ask what the ice coffee was, but from the taste, I assume it was Ethiopian, as I taste notes of fruits. As well, the Avocado Toast is the best once I've ever had. That two fried eggs on it really mixed well with all of the ingredients. I got lost driving by as the shop is kind of camouflaged/blended in with most of the houses. The cafe was packed, but I was able to find a seat, and guests rotated in and out smoothly, so nobody is left waiting to find a table when I was here. It's a good relaxing vibe.

Yelp
Beautiful coffee shop close to downtown and the hospital, with some of the best ambiance I've ever seen! Big, gorgeous, green, leafy plants decorate the interior with natural light and comfy seating. It was quite busy when I stopped in, understandably so. This would be a great place to work, read or visit. Heck, even a date! They have a variety of food options and the coffee is wonderful. I had a dirty chai latte with oat and it was hot, slightly spicy and delicious. If you prefer the sweeter chai, maybe opt for something else!

Yelp
If you are looking for an aesthetically pleasing café with calm, soothing energy, then this be the one. I only grabbed a quick coffee and bite to go but the environment with clean white walls and greenery strewn about was all the vibe. SO much seating inside and out, all with said calming energies. They have coffee and food and I did eye their bagels which they make fresh in-house everyday. WOW, it was clearly fresh and while not your typical NYC bagel with the chewiness that a boiled and baked process should produce, there's were big (in diameter) and tasty. Cream cheese was provided on the side and they warmed it up wrapped in some foil so as not to crisp it up too much. What a pleasant neighborhood café to divert to on the morning drive.

Yelp
Go to remote work, hang out, breakfast and coffee spot for me and my friends. I look forward to their pumpkin scone every fall season (but tbh they are all incredible). Spacious place with lots of seating options (indoor and outdoor). My only con is that the only regular milk they carry is whole milk (why did everyone stop carrying skim and 2%?!)

Yelp
Highly recommend this place if you want good coffee and some flavorful bites! Was in town for a few days and walked to the local coffee place. Great patio and very welcoming vibe. The staff was attentive and provided wonderful service. The cortado was a perfect start to the day and the toast here is amazingly fresh and delish. The first trip I got the breakfast sandwich which was a good size portion and tasted amazing. So much so I had to come back before I left town. This time around I got the avocado toast and WOW - it was a really good portion size. Two perfectly cooked eggs on top of a heaping serving of avocado on that amazing sourdough bread... Trust me when I say this place is worth the trip

Yelp
A great spot for some vegan pastries and a good oat milk latte! It's pretty reasonably priced. The art and plants through out the space are too cute. There is lots of seating if you're looking for a spot to work remotely. Extra perk: I've never seen such a cute bathroom.

Yelp
We had the bagel, Colorado granola, hot vanilla latte, iced vanilla latte with oat milk. The Colorado granola was amazing. The flavors all blended well together, the peach compote and honey on top added a touch of sweetness. I would highly recommend trying this food item. The bagel was a bit too doughy for our taste and we wish it would have been toasted a bit longer. The latte's were good and they used oatly as the oat milk substitution. There was plenty of space inside the shop for people to sit down. I think this would be a great place to study/work at.

Yelp
Best coffee. Best kids cocoa. Best green chile breakfast sando. Best patio. Best place to bring your dog. Best staff!! I put their sticker on my work computer, y'all. I'm advertising for free because I love this place that much.
google avatar

Yelp
Loved the aesthetic of this cafe! Lots of outside and inside seating. Iced brown sugar latte - the brown sugar latte was a little sweet for me. The brown sugar subtly came through the more I drank. Iced coffee - better than an average iced coffee. It was pretty smooth.

Yelp
This place is a little hidden away, fast, friendly, and beautiful with wonderful food. It is a little pricey, but well worth the cost. I had the avocado toast, vegan style, where the egg was replaced with home fries. I also added the poblano jam, which added a delicious sweetness to some bites. It came on the side, so I could edit as I wished. The bread was fresh and easily cut through. I think they put a whole avocado on top of it! The greens and pickled onions and sauce around it were also delicious. For a drink, I ordered the hot chai latte with almond milk, and it was incredibly good.
google avatar

Anna L.

Yelp
I came here to study and felt like it really did it's job. The place has a nice energy with white walls and cute plants dotted around the area to enjoy during breaks between study sessions I ended up getting a matcha latte, which unfortunately did chunk a bit at the bottom, but that was easily fixed by stirring the drink around!

Yelp
Man do I love a good coffee shop that also has good food. The bagel here with lemon herb cream cheese is literally to die for (get two orders of cream cheese - you'll need it). Service was AMAZING and everyone was so sweet. I was rushing to get to work and they brought my food and coffee out in no time :') As for the coffee, I was unable to snap a photo of it, but it was good! Cute cup, but could be stronger / have more vanilla flavor with the syrup. Nonetheless was still good. The aesthetic is fantastic. Plenty of seating, huge windows for sunlight, and plants! Parking is street residential, so plenty of that.

Yelp
Great coffee! Avocado toast and the egg sandwiche were amazing !! Nice stuff beautiful place!!

Yelp
We found this place several years ago during a trip here. My husband worked in coffee for many years, so we are a bit of a coffee snobs. The coffee here is delicious. So velvety. The pastries and brunch items are delicious too! We had an assortment of goods since we were a group of 7. Everything was delicious. I always say I look through coffee shop reviews for photos of latte art, because that is usually really telling of how good the coffee is going to be. This place nails the latte art even with alternative Milks, which is so difficult.

Yelp
Beautiful coffee spot in Colorado Springs! The coffee was so yummy. The gluten free pastry was an added bonus. Many gluten free options which was great. The service was speedy and a friendly atmosphere. The outdoor patio is great for a nice day out. It is in a secluded spot so definitely look out for a sign and map to it. Highly recommend!

Yelp
This coffee shop is one of my favorites. Their breakfast sandwiches are the best, and I love all of their coffees. I've been here so many times, and I've really enjoyed trying different things on the menu. Their salmon bagel and Brie sandwich are my favorites. I'd recommend their pourover and Cortado.
google avatar

Ginger M.

Yelp
I absolutely love this cafe. The avocado toast was amazing and I loved my cafe oat milk latte. There seems to be plenty of seating inside & outside but it does get quite busy. Wherever we travel, I always visit coffee shops with high ratings and this one did not disappoint. This one is one of my favorites in COS. Check it out.

Yelp
I'm pretty bummed I never checked out this coffee shop/roaster while I lived in Colorado Springs. It was refreshingly bright and airy in the space, making it perfect for working or meeting with someone. I enjoyed all the plants and greenery around the shop. They had several appetizing food options, but I opted for the Brie and sweet basil sandwich, which was delicious. I also ordered the special of the month, which was a latte with orange infused syrup spiced with pink peppercorn & a berry powder garnish (!!) Very tasty. I also took home a bag of freshly roasted beans. I can't wait to go back here when I'm in town again!
google avatar

Charleen C.

Yelp
I got the grilled cheese with garlic aioli. I definitely declared this the best grilled cheese I've ever eaten. I'm sad I don't live around here. Their staff is very nice and provide a pleasant experience. The coffee is smooth. Atmosphere was chill. I like that the space was pretty bright and spacious. 10/10.

Yelp
great cafe for food, conversation, or studying We came here on our way out of Colorado Springs. We wanted a mix of good coffee as well as good food. The café environment is clean, updated, and just exudes good cafe vibes for conversation or studying. We ordered the breakfast sandwich, latte, French toast. The French toast was on the sweeter side for me but still good will using sourdough bread. The breakfast sandwich is delicious with pickled onions, greens, and a great sausage patty. Highly recommend spending a few hours of your day here eating and chatting

Sisi S.

Yelp
The coffee is good but online it said a different price and we thought it was going to be the same, it was like a 3 dollar difference with taxes with 2 coffees.

Sarah S.

Yelp
This avacado toast is the best! I travel all over the world (from Seattle) and there's only one other place in Kauai, Hawaii with avacado toast this good.
google avatar

Jordann H.

Yelp
A great place to sit with your pup (outdoors) and enjoy a coffee and breakfast sandwich! I highly recommend the salmon sandwich!

Brad P.

Yelp
Great mochas and service. A special shout out to Jake!! Everyone was friendly and helpful.

Lesa L.

Yelp
Great little coffee shop. It is hard to find parking but the coffee is good and the atmosphere is relaxing. They have some creative drink choices as well.
google avatar

Tori G.

Yelp
A cute little spot! Loved the vibes and was excited to try from the reviews, but didn't really love my vanilla latte. Tasted a little sour, but their breakfast sandwich was pretty good & big!

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
Really friendly staff, high quality coffee, lots of different drink and food options, an ample amount of seating both inside and outside, and relaxing environment with modern-minimalist decor. Also thought it was really cute that it's in a quiet neighborhood and is attached to a school. I love that Colorado has quirky little places like this. Overall great experience and I'll probably be coming back quite a bit :)
google avatar

Claudia T.

Yelp
If you want a nice warm cup of coffee and chill to do homework. This is a Nice spot. Quiet and friendly atmosphere. I had a brown sugar Steamer and it was delicious. Smooth, silky and sweet. Though cup sizes are small and bit pricey. Taste was good.

Judy H.

Yelp
Coffee beans freshly roasted...delicious! Added bonus a cup of coffee when you buy the coffee beans. Great atmosphere and customer service!
google avatar

Alan N.

Yelp
One of my favorite coffee places, tucked away from all the action. The street can get crowded for parking. Great staff, many options, vegan/vegetarian options also available so that was a huge plus. This place can get crowded but for good reason, highly recommend coming here.
google avatar

Conrad F.

Yelp
This place was wonderful. I've only been in town for a little bit so decided to explore Colorado Springs on foot and came across this happenin' spot. Building: It's design is modern and fresh but the building is old so it's got that certain charm to it as well! Lots of outdoor seating and ample parking. Service: No chance of your barista misspelling your name here because they'll just bring your order right out to you. That's becoming more and more unique these days and while I'm not advocating for customer laziness, it's nice to be treated like this. Coffee: broad selection of pour overs and at least two espressos to choose from. Let me put this in millennial terms: If a tinder date said we should go out for coffee... this is my place!
google avatar

Manuel C.

Yelp
My gf loved this place - I however, am not my gf. I've been to Europe and had ass-cheekmgee coffee. I would have rather drank that than their iced coffee. Their egg sand which is okay, but I would have been better off making one at home. Cheerio.
google avatar

J U.

Yelp
Friendly environment- but two quick notes from my experience today. 1) ordered an Americano with steamed cream to drink at the cafe. When asked if I wanted milk, I said no, I want cream that has been steamed. Coffee came out and it wasn't cream. I said nothing, but before I left I ordered a drip coffee with cream to go and I was told there was no cream, only milk. Meh... 2) The so called ham on the breakfast sandwich tastes nothing like ham. I inquired about it bc I honestly thought I was eating roast beef and I was told it's not like a cured ham rather a savory ham. Whatever you want to call it, it's not good. It tastes like microwaved roast beef, emphasis on microwaved. It may not be the case but it was an unpleasant taste on a breakfast sandwich.

Yelp
LOVE LOVE LOVE everything about this place. We just got our holiday blend! And sent out lots of coffee for gifts! So thankful for this place!

Yelp
I have heard nothing but great things from this place and I was not disappointed. First off, the crew is AMAZING. It was my first time and the barista took her time explaining the menus to me. She was very kind and caring, I think she went above and beyond what was expected of her. Second, the coffee and food is Ofcourse delicious. I highly recommend this place.
