Yelp
Decided on a whim (read desperately looked for a place with open Valentine's Day reservations) to try them out.
As it's a hotel restaurant for the Marriott, parking in the evenings can be somewhat scarce or distant, but was manageable. If walking in from street parking, the first entrance door you run across isn't the hostess station. You'll need to walk over to where the hotel joins the restaurant to be greeted.
They easily found our reservation and we were promptly seated. Next comes the only downside of the evening...the maître d' has warned us it'd be a few minutes until a server came by. He wasn't kidding, it was a full 15-20 minutes later. This is the sole reason for 4 of 5 stars.
As we'd had a chance to look at both the "special" Valentine's Day menu (which would set you back $75/pp) as well as the normal menu, our server took both our drink order and our food order simultaneously.
My wife opted for the Smoked Beef Tenderloin and I chose the Black Angus Strip Steak. I was able to easily swap out items on mine (from loaded potatoes and asparagus to a house salad and sweet potato fries) without a twitch from the server. It should be noted that the "loaded potatoes" are diced, roasted potatoes with cheese and bacon loaded on top. The asparagus stalks were simply ENORMOUS. My salad was crisp and fresh with a healthy amount of dressing server separately. The sweet potato fries were well above average.
The entrees -
Smoked Beef Tenderloin ($29)- It comes pre-sliced (though you'll likely cut those slices up) in a gravy/glaze on top. It was near fork-tender, with a smoky flavor that reminded me of a top-tier brisket. It was heavenly.
Black Angus Strip Steak ($28)- like the Tenderloin, it was served on a cast-iron plate, but with only the lightest chimichurri/butter glaze. Like the Tenderloin, it was cooked to medium specification. A tad crispy from the sear, it was nonetheless excellent.
Of note: ambiance was decent, booths are romantic, if a bit springy. The Steak knives are 10 1/2" tomahawk knives that look like something you'd hunt with in the outback!
We definitely enjoyed it and will return soon!
