On the Grid : Switchyards Downtown Club

"Coming soon! A gathering space for design-focused doers. Switchyards Downtown Club will be a community of creative voices out to establish a new norm for start-up culture in Atlanta. Not only that, but it's a stones throw away from Ted's Montana Grill and Waffle House; for those mornings or afternoons when you just need a little grease to cure your head." - Flags of Origin

The best decision I’ve made. Downtown is my favorite location. Yes, you have to pay to park, but it’s still way less than you would spend with Regus or Spaces. I switch between Adair Park and Cabbagetown depending on what I have to do. To have access to all clubs for one price gives me unlimited possibilities. The people are cool, respectful and it’s super clean! Even the restrooms! Free Coffee, snacks, cool atmosphere it’s such a vibe!

I couldn’t figure out how to get inside to sign up for a membership and there was no telephone number to call for assistance.

Great place to come and do business and get some work done. Great atmosphere, good coffee and tea. Nice open conference rooms

5.0 | Downtown Switchyards Club is nice. it doesn’t get enough love from me as I don’t like to commute in the heart of Downtown if I don’t have to and pay for parking, but this is a sweet spot that employs a lot of the aesthetic and arrangement of all the spaces. it has the quiet cubicles like Decatur, and the openness and layout of Cabbagetown. only thing I didn’t see was a phone booth, which makes sense given there are so many open areas and people took calls quietly in their own little spaces. I thought the openness would make me feel a bit unfocused but it didn’t. I like this location, and will likely make more effort to come here as it feels a lot less crowded and open, with enough lounge and desk space for everyone to own an area comfortably.

Beautiful space. Excellent soundproofing. Coffee bar is great. Wi-Fi can be spotty but it’s not too bad. And the downstairs space is a bummer relative to the bright, light-filled main space. Overall, the space is a very comfortable place to spend a work day.

Switchyards has been amazing to work with the past couple of years. We are their official bartending partner, so we often collaborate on the private events together. Their in house team is attentive and personable. They’ve been super supportive of our needs and help make our jobs so much easier. The event space is so versatile and inviting. The built-in-bar is beautiful. The coworking neighborhood hubs are perfect too. So convenient and comfortable. Our partnership with Switchyards has been one of the best experiences ever! Can’t wait to see what we do next together.

I love this place! I’ve had a membership here for over a month now & it was the best decision I could’ve done. Relaxing, great place to get work done & also a very innovative way to network. There are three levels of membership coffeehouse, desk w/o window & desk w/ window. Regardless, you’ll be satisfied. The coffee is amazing, the aesthetics are so “Atlanta” vibes are chill- don’t listen to me, just hurry up & take a tour & see for yourself.

It's a great space. I attended an event sponsored by Emory University and loved every minute of it. Great artists presented in multiple genres presented their art in collaboration with Emory professors and students.

Yelp
You may recognize Switchyards as the building with the red neon "Made with Soul in Atlanta" light! Inside it's very modern urban with visually appealing posters, vintage seating and exposed ventilation. There's ping pong on the bottom floor and the main floor has stadium seating and an open space for presentations, parties, or speakers. Their posters suggest these types of events happen about once a month. The events seem well curated and are probably a great way to meet other members. There's always many creative and interesting people here. It's a great place to network. They offer a variety of complimentary coffees on the main floor's coffee bar. I think the barista could be a little more pleasant, but it just deters me from drinking too much coffee, so that's a good thing. Sometimes they have other complimentary treats like doughnuts. You will need to enter with a member or be a member in order to check out Switchyards. Otherwise, take a photo outside in front of the neon sign & say, "I was in Atlanta!" Metered parking can be found around the building, on side streets or in lots. If you live close enough it might be best to MARTA, walk, bike or scooter because parking anywhere downtown is expensive!

Yelp
I had a wonderful experience this morning. So you have to have a membership or be a guest. The service was fast and friendly and they have a limited menu. They have a few lite bites such as pastries, muffins, and fruit (apples and bananas). You can choose from a few drinks like coffee and tea. There's colosseum type seating and an area by the windows. The restrooms are gender neutral.

Yelp
I've been at Switchyards for the past two years and I've really enjoyed being part of the community. I feel like if there is a "comedy store" except for Entrepreneurs in Atlanta - SDC is it! Pros: Can be super cheap ($50 for coffee membership) Great Events Awesome Coffee Super talented people in the building Cons: Can't really think of many. In terms of the actual dedicated offices they are pretty much at parity with the rest of the market - and they do make changes abruptly moving people around.

Yelp
Very nice club to work on projects, study, hangout, relax, ect. To become a member you can request a tour on the website! Memberships are: $175/month for full membership & $50/month for part time membership (see pics). You will meet pretty awesome people here that will be your friends. If you love our city & want to get more involved with the community then SDC is a greeeat place to start!

Yelp
I like this place. I like what they do for the community. I like that I don't have to be a member to go to the events. I like the set up, it's cool and interesting. I went here for Made in Altanta and it is the only time I've ever been. I will be back. Awesome.
