Café Adelaide Will Close August 24 - Eater New Orleans

"The restaurant and the adjoining Swizzle Stick Bar, both in the Loews Hotel, will close their doors on August 24, according to a press release. While the Brennan family celebrated the past in honoring Adelaide’s over-the-top life, it also pushed cocktails into the future. As with its sister restaurant, SoBou, the bartender took a bigger role at Adelaide as the “bar chef.” The idea was that cocktails could pair with food just as well as wine, a concept the family will continue to explore as it celebrates 125 years of Commander’s Palace with a symposium on American cuisine and hospitality in September. “We have cherished our strong, 15-year relationship with the Loews New Orleans Hotel. The Swizzle Stick Bar was ahead of its time and a leader in the cocktail revolution,” Ti Adelaide Martin in a statement." - Stephanie Carter

The drinks were delicious. They made me think of old New Orleans. The catfish tacos and parmesan fries are must haves!

Great bar located in the Loews hotel lobby. The drink selection is diverse and the bartenders know how to mix a drink. I didn't try any food options as we were going out for dinner. I tried thier hibiscus infused bourbon cocktail and their 21st amendment cocktail and both were outstanding. There was a little bit of a wait for service but that's probably because the place was packed.

Great atmosphere, wonderful drinks. Possibly one of the best bloody marys in town. Nice bar for a snack also. This is a regular stop for our Krewe at Mardi Gras.

Nothing remarkable, but I'm not easily impressed by hotel bars. The drinks were ok and they had some good finger food options, especially the boudin boulettes. Seemed like a good place to pick up cougars.
