"The location alone–just a five-minute stroll from the Sydney Harbour–makes this a stand-out hotel." The broad white tower between the historic Rocks area and the business district just completed a $20-million renovation of all rooms and public areas, bringing vibrant blues and punches of reds to accommodations. Order wood-fired pizza and beers on tap at the Customs House Bar. "This staff exemplify why Australia has a reputation for friendliness." The indoor heated pool is filled with salt water."

The location of the hotel is incredibly convenient and close to the main attractions, making it a great base for exploring the area. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The Executive Lounge was a nice perk, offering a good selection of food. While it was enjoyable, it didn’t quite stand out as exceptional. However, the hotel entry and elevators could be quite busy at times, which was a bit inconvenient. Additionally, the rooms were quite outdated. As an Elite Titanium member, I must say this was one of the most basic Marriott rooms and bathrooms I’ve experienced. The accommodations are in urgent need of an upgrade to meet the standards expected from the brand.

We had a first-rate experience here, with an enormously friendly and attentive staff at all levels. The concierges were exceptionally attentive and helpful. They made dinner reservations and dining and shopping recommendations. The location was excellent, within walking distance to Circular Quay (and all the ferries), the Rocks, the Opera House, the Botanical Gardens, and so on. The breakfast buffet is scrumptious. To our taste, the rooms were not unnecessarily outdated (as mentioned by several reviewers), with a large flat-screen TV, blackout shades, bathroom amenities, refrigerator, etc.

I arrived early and very much in need of rest. My room was not ready but I was offered access to their hospitality lounge for a shower and some coffee. They stored my luggage and I went out for a much needed walk. When I returned I was escorted to my room along with my luggage. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Service in the main restaurant was poor and the food was mediocre but the coffee was really good. Front desk team is amazing.

Google
This Marriott hotel is located strategically in circular quay, very near to the Rocks, Opera House and Sydney Bridge. Darling Harbour is also within walking distance (10-15 mins walk max). Room size is reasonable, clean and bed is quite comfortable. The front desk staff (Daniel) was very helpful and accommodating, agreed to give lounge access (I am a lifetime Platinum member) to both rooms so makes our stay much more convenient. Breakfast selections at the lounge were pretty good and nice. Internet speed and some of the interiors may need some upgrading though. I would recommend this hotel if you plan to stay at good location in Sydney.

Google
I stayed there for three days. Hotel staff is really cooperative. Location is amazing as it is pretty much near to the circular quay. Walking distance to almost everywhere. We booked city view room, and it is worth it. Overall experience was excellent !!

Google
Overall a lovely hotel. Beds are super comfy. Not as upscale as I thought in rooms based on reputation of this hotel. Top-notch excellent staff service from check in, early arrival areas, room service, restaurant and bar, concierge, etc. Location is dead inside with high-rises and major construction. Views are other high rises. Our friends have a nice partial lovely view on a much higher level floor. We do have noisy neighbors upstairs, but other than that, it's pretty quiet. The Custom House Bar is fun. Drinks and food are really great. A fun vibe bar where you can sit outside on their patio. Lots to do in Sydney.

Wow!! 20/10 in all areas - almost one week later we are still thinking about the most amazing night. I had been communicating with the amazing staff prior to our stay to make our getaway (surprise birthday gift for my wife) and unforgettable one- and did they deliver. From handing keys over to the parking vallet and when checking in, we were thrilled by the friendliest of staff- handed a bottle of sparkling and being told about all the extras of our executive lounge stay. (Definitely worth choosing this option)- The lovely staff then advised of a room upgrade and we were thrilled, but then when we made our way up to the Presidential Suite on the Elite Level- we were speechless. The room was flawless- it had everything you could wish for, and more!! Two stories, a huge jacuzzi, a sauna!! And the views- postcard worthy!! As you could imagine staying on the top floor! You have left a once in a lifetime experience with us- and we are beyond appreciative. We continue to look back on photos and videos of our perfect stay and it brings continuous smiles and laughter. It went too quickly but we will return again and again- Thank you. Until next time!

Google
Absolutely saved the start of our holiday! Had booked at another hotel where the experience was subpar so we cancelled End up booking the room at the marriot around 12pm and they had it ready for us by 2pm. After they heard our terrible experience at the other hotel they were so kind I almost cried. They helped our kids by giving them soft toys and a few lollies, let us sit in a lounge area while we waited for our room. We got a call from when the room was ready. Cannot recommend more.

Yelp
12/2/24 About a 30mins ride from Sydney Airport. Upon arrival room wasn't as yet ready. However they have an arrival lounge. Fully equipped with shower, towels toiletries, sitting area water, snacks. We were able to shower and change store our luggage and explore a bit. Once ready received notification. Bonus received complimentary room upgrade to bridge view. Welcoming snack of charcuterie board. Choice of wine or soda. Throughout our stay very satisfied with staff, hotel and accommodation s.

Yelp
It's hard to beat the location of this hotel- it's less than a 5 minute walk to the Sydney Harbour. We were able to utilize the member lounge which is great for a morning coffee and breakfast as you start your day. The interior is nicely decorated and open. We enjoyed having a drink at the bar with friendly staff. It seemed to always take a long time for our room to be cleaned, but once cleaned, was nice. The bathroom is tight and dated but definitely effective.

Yelp
In the heart of Sydney this hotel is a must stay. It's beautifully done from employees to rooms. The rooms are very cozy and have plenty of amenities to make your stay comfortable. We had a room with a view of the Sydney Opera House. I highly recommend that side of the hotel with a higher level view

Yelp
Customer service is top notch. Very polite, friendly and thorough. They go above and beyond. The building is a bit outdated but well maintained. The bed is comfy and I always sleep like a baby. Location is great. It's a few minutes away from Circular Quay. But.... The elevators ruin them all. I often got stuck in the lobby/the elevator hall for more than 5min or so. Sometimes, it arrived with full capacity and I had to wait for another 5min. I haven't felt this level of frustration since my Boston days from the terrible transportation service by MBTA. The hotel said that they were upgrading it. Let's see how much they improve it.

Jonathan F.

Yelp
Sydney Harbour Marriott, where the location is the VIP guest and everything else is just trying to catch its limelight. It's like the hotel's saying, "Who needs interior design when you're a hop, skip, and a jump away from Circular Quay?" Sure, the décor might be flirting with the vintage vibe, but hey, at least it's a consistent theme. It's like a tribute to the '90s, but without the questionable fashion choices. The rooms are spacious enough but the worn-out design might make you yearn for a refresh sooner than your morning coffee. Sydney Harbour Marriott: where location steals the show, and everything else is just a supporting act with potential for a makeover.

Yelp
Food on breakfast Buffet is just ok but service was professional. Rooms need a lot of renovations. Very old. Some Halls have odors. City Views are blocked by construction cranes. Positives, great walking location to get around the city. Staff tried their best for service. I would wait until they complete room and most definitely elevators renovations.

Donna B.

Yelp
Perfect location. Came into Sydney airport at 10 pm, took the T8 to Circular Quay, and the hotel was an easy 2 block walk from the station. Very safe and touristy area to walk through with all the luggage. Anytime of day there was always plenty of staff to help with anything we needed. Slight mix up when checking in. They upgraded our room to a fabulous suite but we needed two beds. So we played musical rooms and all was settled. The front desk sent a bellhop to help move the bags. Rooms and entire hotel property was always cleaned and well maintained. Fitness room, pool and restaurants and bars are all on site. But didn't use any since we wanted to experience the city. The hotel location was a great walk to most of the tourist's destinations- The Rocks, Sydney Opera House, Botanical Gardens, Barracks and plenty of restaurants. The nearby tram can take you to Darling Harbor and Chinatown if you can't walk that far, but it's a beautiful walk and lots to see on the way. Parking, I'm unsure of since we had no car. Highly recommend the hotel.

Andrea U.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel in the perfect location. We were able to walk to the rocks, opera house, Chinatown, botanical gardens, ferries, bridge, transit hub, botanical gardens, restaurants, shops... we were even able to roll our luggage onto our cruise ship in the harbor. Our room 2702 had a view of the harbor and opera house. It was clean, well-equipped and very comfortable for a week. The toiletries were lovely, towels robes and linens plush, Safe, NESPRESSO, tea kettle, fridge ... perfect. The water pressure was great, room was quiet, king bed very comfortable and air conditioning cooling. All of the lighting, outlets, adapters, rack for our suitcases and the bathroom counter that was the length of the room made a big difference. Since we are elite members we enjoyed a complementary Buffet breakfast, afternoon snacks and canopies with cocktails every evening. The executive lounge on 2 was large, clean, well staffed & stocked. Breakfast was delicious & extensive from cappuccinos and an assortment of teas to smoked salmon, breads, cereals, meats, fresh fruit, cheeses, yogurts, pastries, juices, eggs to order .... I was impressed with the assorted milk selection including almond & soy. Our Evening buffet was decadent. We enjoyed fruits, meats cheeses, salads, soups, chicken, meat pies, vegetables, cookies, cheesecakes, chocolate tarts, beers, wines, sparkling, sodas, coffees, cocktails .... Foods were fresh, refreshed, nand beautifully presented. The pool, sauna, spa and gym are on the fourth floor. The huge gym had three sections with cardio, free weights, and machines. The equipment was very clean and inviting. A sign indicated that the gym is currently being renovated. Spa treatments are offered here and there are many treatment rooms. The best part of the hotel are the concierges. Solomon and Alan was so knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. They were able to secure kangaroo jerky for us and recommended excellent restaurants and places for photographs. I felt ill and Solomon went out of his way to assist with medical care. Housekeeping was on point. The staff in the executive lounge kept the food replenished, removed rubbish and were helpful and friendly throughout. I hate to leave I hope we will come back again!

Yelp
Outstanding Trip to Sydney Thank You to All: From the Marriott hotel Staff to the Driver who drove us to Blue Mt. Thank You. Great City

Yelp
When you spend more than few months a year on the road, you see a wide range of hotels. This one was special - they treat you well from checkin to checkout. Progressive facilities (new fitness center) in the middle of the business district, yet a short walk from the best tourism spots in the city. Surrounded by restaurants inside and outside the hotel with no shortage of shopping and tourism.

Susan T.

Yelp
Very close to the train station, to the airport. Love the ambiance, very clean, modernized look, Love the coffee, food, morning breakfast. Laundry room, workout facilities. I love the place.

April L.

Yelp
Really good 6 night redemption stay at the Sydney Harbour Marriott Hotel this past week. they graciously upgraded us to a Opera House view before we even arrived and pre-approved our 4 p.m. late check out as well (I am a Titanium member) The concierge lounge was nice and offered a good range of food and beverage options. It was a perfect location and we were able to walk nearly everywhere we wanted to visit. The downsides: The elevators are very slow and you'll spend a lot of time waiting for them and then they're packed because everyone else was waiting to. Customs House restaurant advertises 10% off for Marriott Bonvoy members. When I asked about this they said they didn't know how to input the discount and would give me points instead. I never received the points. I asked the hotel front desk and they said I'd have to call Bonvoy customer service instead to request the points. Anyways, the food isn't even good so I don't recommend eating there in the first place to others.

Yelp
If it were not for the location, no reason to stay here. Full hotel, nearly 600 rooms many pre or post cruises ship passengers which is obviously the hotels priority. Poor service, room had not been made up once returning late afternoon. Never vacuumed. Module furniture in poor condition. Suite upgrades squeezed into corner, sitting area with 4 uncomfortable chairs. I will not return to this Marriott A dissatisfied lifetime platinum member.

Drew O.

Yelp
This is a 2 star hotel with the staff and older rooms. They dont have an outdoor pool. Check in was meh. No upgrade or acknowledgment of my life time platinum status. Breakfast was great and the exec lounge nice. They don't clear plates in the lounge and customer service is lacking. I don't pick where the airline books us but i miss the Westin Sydney.

Yelp
I stay at Marriott all over the globe. This hotel has to be one of the worst tourist trap non-business friendly hotels in the world. First night air-conditioning didn't work told me they'd move me. I was gone all day got back at 8 o'clock at night. Nope we don't have a room for you to move to please wait Finally gets moved whatever. the lifts aren't working properly so I'm standing for 10 to 15 minutes waiting for an elevator to show up every time I want go downstairs. The only reason this hotel exists is for all the cruise traffic so you have 300+ rooms out of the hotel being used by the cruise lines for shore side purposes, don't believe any of the nice things said about this place. The decor straight out of the 80s it's rundown it's not very nice the food is OK and you have nothing but cruise line tourist from wall-to-wall. It's a 180 a night hotel charging 500+ a night.

Yelp
The location is hard to beat! Public transportation was easy to get to from the L lines to the ferries. We even took a bus out to the suburbs. That was all witching walking distance. We got a room with a view of the Sydney Opera house. Food and cocktail bars were close by. This town shuts down early -9/10 pm on a weekend!! But a few bars/lounges are open after 10 pm. The executive lounge had a great spread for breakfast options. Well worth the splurge for the convenient location!

Linda S.

Yelp
My husband and I have stayed at the Sydney Harbour Marriott Hotel many times and have always had a wonderful experience. All the staff we have encountered have gone out of their way to make our stay exceptional. Relove Gyawali, Guest Relations Supervisor, his staff including Maria and Shiv ,were some of the staff who went out of their way. I can't forget Paul at the elevator and Solomon at the downstairs desk plus so many more whose names I did not write down. Thank you to all. The location of the hotel to the Harbour, ferries, Opera House, and Royal Botanic Garden make for a fun visit to this beautiful city.

Shannon L.

Yelp
We stayed here shortly after Christmas and were very pleased with how they accommodated us. The front desk was able to check us in early and get us up to our room. They also found us a great deal for a New Years Eve party right on the Barbour. I have recommended this hotel to a few friends already.

Kelly S.

Yelp
When looking for a hotel to stay in during a visit to Sydney after my tour ended I wanted to make sure I was close to the harbour.... mission accomplished. This hotel was in walking distance of everything I wanted... the Opera House, harbour, piers, the bridge and the Rocks! I arrived well before check in but the amazing staff sent me up to the executive lounge to enjoy a complementary breakfast until my room was ready. It was ready within an hour. The room was amazing, all up to date, modern amenities and a view like no other. The king sized bed was comfy and soft. So many little perks that made the difference, bed side lights, table space and a large bathroom. Love the elevators here... so fast and I never had to wait. I enjoyed the executive lounge, everyday a great breakfast. Lot's of snacks and drinks through out the day. An amazing happy hour or hours with beer, wine and some liquor but more importantly desserts to die for. I am a big fan of the Marriott hotels, the service is always a game changer for me.. this location did not let me down. They really go the extra mile and I appreciate that. Whenever I went to the front desk with a question they greeted me professionally and warmly than went above and beyond. This was the perfect way to end my 15 day tour all over Australia!

Maisha R.

Yelp
Five stars for the location and four stars for the accommodations. This is a large Marriott property that is wonderfully located very close to many tourist spots. With opera house and harbour bridge views from certain rooms, the hotel is a good option for those who want to be by the harbour or close to The Rocks. A nice array of eating establishments and convenience stores are in the hotel's proximity along with a large food court at Gateway, which has Gelato Messina. Showing some wear and tear, the rooms are of standard Marriott size and could use a little remodeling, particularly in the bathrooms. But that didn't detract from the quality of our sleep, which was very good. The hotel offers an extensive breakfast buffet in the lobby restaurant, followed by multi-course lunch and dinner offerings. We ate at the buffet twice and the options were plentiful. They had pancakes, waffles, omelet station, pastries, bacon, pork dumplings, teriyaki chicken, lentil eggs, veal and chive sausage, salad station, fish, yogurt, and cereal. There was also a large display of fresh pressed juices and smoothies. These were incredibly delicious! The gym was old but it got the job done. There were three levels with bikes, treadmills, ellipticals, weight machines, and free weights. On some days only one treadmill was working. They also have a large, indoor heated pool that is one depth. The housekeeping staff was very pleasant and always trying to assist us and the concierges were for the most part very helpful. We really enjoyed our stay at this Marriott.

Ryan S.

Yelp
Stayed here a week for holiday. Awesome location. About a 1 minute walk to Circular Quay Trains and Ferries. We took trained and ferries everywhere (zoo, darling Harbour, Chinatown, milson's point, barangaroo). We also did walk from Chinatown and Darling Harbour to burn off all the food we ate. We checked in at 10pm and was greeted by a friendly staff member, Caroline. She made us special and thanked us for being Marriott gold members. She even gave us a bottle of wine. We were way up on the 21st floor. Great views. Super quiet. There were only about 3 guests on our floor...we barely heard them. Rooms were nice and clean. Beds were awesome. Best sleep I've had. My wife even said I quit snoring all week. We didn't use the pool or gym since we were sightseeing all day. I used the Marriott app to request house keeping since we didn't want cleaning every day. App super easy and convenient ass usual. Highly recommend this place based. It was so close, we googled the live times for ferries, and sat in our room until about 5 minutes before the ferry was leaving.

Ken M.

Yelp
The elevator situation at this hotel is ridiculous it's takes 15-20 minutes to get down to the lobby and another 15-20 minutes to get up to your room.

Keith M.

Yelp
Hotel is nice and staff is great. No lobby bar and a bar in the back with weird hours.

Gwen B.

Yelp
The hotel is fantastic....their service was top notch! They really went out of their way to help people! . ‍

Yelp
I was here for 3 nights -part work -part fun on points. The hotel was under renovation, and elevators were slow. The beginning of the trip went fine, my room view was spectacular. This was my first trip overseas post COVID and while the Marriott in Brisbane had been amazing my experience here was less so. I had been here back in 2008 and remembered it being incredible. I have elite status with Marriott, the lounge here is very large and impersonal. The cleanliness was just okay, -but this is post COVID. What I had not expected was that on my last day my room would be robbed of gifts I had bought my family. When I came back to the hotel to pack for my flight in the next morning, I noticed that the bag of gifts I had bought was missing off the window ledge. I tried to call the front desk -no pickup. I then went down to the front desk, was asked to wait and then when I told the manager what had happened I was offered a bottle of wine. I asked if I should call the police and the manager said no, they would take care of everything. He walked me back up to my room. Later he called and offered me 25000 points to make this go away, I declined. Then the security manager called me and said they would run a door query. The query failed and I would have to wait until morning -when I was flying out of Sydney. When I returned home I did file a police report with NSW Police. Once I filed the police report, the hotel reimbursed me for the lost property (~$180). They considered the matter closed and insinuated that they weren't sure what really happened. Only my key and housekeeping had accessed my room by the door query. The thing is I've been with the brand for ~20 years, never been robbed or reported a false robbery. Only my wife's gifts were taken, not my kids, not my electronics (laptops, ipad, bose headphones). The property apologized, but in terms of the day I spent shopping, the trust I had in leaving my belongings here, the choice to stay here... Nothing... I am severely disappointed with this property. Since this stay I have opted out of housekeeping services in other Marriott hotels. If I came to Sydney again I would probably try to stay in Darling Harbor, there are far more eating/dining options and I might not get robbed.

Kellie R.

Yelp
Pros: The room was nice and modern Bed was fairly comfy Tea and coffee Waiting room for early arrivals with free WiFi and complimentary beverages Great location from the Big Bus stop and Opera House Cons: WiFi was expensive at $20 per day (they didn't tell us that). Silverware for coffee (spoons) were used and unwashed but left in the drawer

Jason H.

Yelp
Very nice hotel, perfect location where there is not a lot of foot or vehicle traffic at the waterfront but easily walking distance to the waterfront or the rocks. I have the 27th floor with a view of the Sydney bridge and part of harbor. Quiet hallways, huge gym, nice pool, I don't have the elite/executive lounge card, but I was invited in by a colleague to discuss work. It was nice so if you have the card, it's definitely worth going in and using it. Taxi ride from airport to hotel was about $75.00. Uber easily find you in front of hotel.

Johny R.

Yelp
Twice... Twice I had to have the front desk re-key my cards. Very frustrating, when the long wait time line had to be re entered just to get a key. Then, when leaving for dinner, I find a note under my door regarding my ambassador delivery (fruit platter). They did honor my 'do not disturb' sign and suggest I phone when an appropriate time presented itself. I left for dinner and phoned the requested extension to ask for the delivery. Upon my return, no such delivery was made. Zero follow through, and zero competence for such a lovely, high profile hotel. Upon my next return, I will select a different Marriott location.

Rob B.

Yelp
Love this hotel and location cannot be beat. They accommodated our needed for a late check out and the concierge lounge is fantastic. Door men are exceptional. Every thing excels but the gym where dated technogym equipement is crammed in to a too small space. The gym desperately a needed upgrade to be under the Marriott name.

Debbra R.

Yelp
The list is long - 1. They couldn't find my reservation when I arrived (even though I had already checked in online and I'm Platinum with Marriott) 2. I added my husband to the reservation and checked everyday prior to his arrival to make sure they knew he was arriving while I was working and.... they not only told him they did not have a record of him anywhere - they also had no record of me in the hotel. He sat in the lobby bar after an 18 hour flight until I could call the hotel to straighten it out. 3. They moved our room to another floor - from 28 to 31 - this is where the real nightmare starts... our key wouldn't work in the elevator so we couldn't get to our room. Every night we had to go fetch Victor (the manager) to get us up to our room on the elevator and into our room. Overall we had a very poor experience

Mike K.

Yelp
Absolutely great hotel and experience while I there. Great location - just a half block from Sydney Harbour. Received early check, late check out, room upgrade and executive lounge access thanks to my current program status. Room was about average size, modern and clean. Nice view of the bridge and ship terminal. All the staff that I interacted with were friendly and helpful. Great breakfast in the lounge along with drinks and lite snacks in the evening. You will pay a little more here, but your paying for location and a a slight notch up from other hotels in the same area.

Gen C.

Yelp
From their service, to their amenities and breakfast buffet, this place is superb. Prime location - few minutes walk to the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Opera House and the Rocks, this hotel is a complete package.

Patrick G.

Yelp
It's a bit pricey but I wanted a great hotel, centrally located and this is it. This is one of the top 10 hotels I've ever stayed in (out of literally hundreds not including barracks, lol). It's close to tourist attractions but you could stay in the hotel and not even worry about leaving. Great service, the concierge is above outstanding, cannot say enough about the service. First rate. I'd have stayed here for my entire Australian visit if I could have. The room. A great comfortable king size. We had a Harbor view. The white color of the room grabbed you and woke you up. There was a snack bar in the room to try IF you wanted to partake. Everything worked. The one nitpick I'd have is, the bathroom counter doesn't have enough usable space. However if you're using the bathtub, it's perfect. One more thing: always check under the bed before you check out.

David N.

Yelp
I always stay at a Marriott if I can. I've been staying with them for the past few years and have earned their Gold Status. This location awards you well for being a Gold member. They give you free WiFi, but more than that they give you access to their executive lounge. The lounge is open 6 am - 12 am. Yes, you heard that right basically ALL DAY. They serve a complimentary breakfast, mid afternoon tea/snacks, and dinner appetizers. We just used it for breakfast every morning that we stayed there as it was quick, easy, and FREE. But we also, grabbed drinks from there throughout the day after we went sightseeing. As far as check in, due to the states departure times, it seems like many people end up arriving super early in the morning. So they developed a special area for "Early arrivals" it's a pseudo suite for these guests, where they can take a shower and freshen up. It was a life saving, as after a 14+ hr flight, you're not smelling too great. After the shower, we were able to drop off our bags at the front and began sightseeing. The staff sent me a text when the roof was ready and they even had the bags in the room. The view is good, a bit obstructed but you can see the bridge. The rooms were very clean and the water pressure was strong!

Dee M.

Yelp
This hotel is in an airport excellent location; it's only minutes to the CBD which hosts the shopping experience of a lifetime. There, you'll find stores such as COTTON, ZARA, TOP SHOP, Myers Department Dtore, and many stores local to Australia. My favorite was the Queen Elizabeth building. Not only does it make for excellent photo oops, it also offers unique clothing stores and wonderful coffee shops. They are also steps from Circular Quay we chose the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge. The rooms here are great and the beds very comfortable. I was spoiled by my upgraded room that offered an awesome view of Circular Quay. Service was consistent with the Marriott brand - it was great. The front desk personal and bell hops offered excellent recommendations for coffee and light meals nearby. They were also nice enough to take photos of me in front of the building. I was sad to leave, but only one night was necessary as my sister lived nearby in Rushcutters Bay, not far from Kings Cross. You will not regret your stay here! Can't wait to return!

Laura A.

Yelp
I would definitely choose to stay here again. The staff is very nice! Beyond nice really.... the number 1 reason to stay here is the location and proximity to Circular Quay. The second best feature is access to the Executive Lounge if you qualify. This includes breakfast, all day fruit and drinks, tea/cakes/candy, dinner, dessert and includes alcohol. I mean- could it get any better? Serious money savings on eating out! The beds are super comfy and the lobby atmosphere is great also. This being said- here are the areas for improvement which if fixed would have made me give it a 5th star. The fitness facility needs new equipment- it is pretty old and needs to be freshened up. My room is lovely -but lord the sofa and chairs are uncomfortable- like sitting on plywood- so plan to sit on your bed most of the time. I do love the hotel overall and will come stay here again next week when I am back in Sydney. The Executive Lounge staff is kind, courteous and they smile!

Yelp
Regrettably I cannot award more than 2 stars for my 5 night experience here. Though I am platinum, and always get upgraded to Club Level, my experiences here was bronze level at best. It started with a condescending attitude by the reception desk at check-in. It continued at the Club Lounge, on each day we were there. Poor servicing and replenishment of food, drinks, etc. Not regular servicing of tables after departing guests. The staff here were pained to be at work, and did as little as possible to "get the job done". See my photos (NOT the photos supplied by management). Lobby door attendant was not on duty or at his station on numerous occasions, and we had to find our own taxi more than once. All in all, a most mediocre experience...perhaps one of the worst in all my 30+ years at Marriott full service hotels.

Yelp
Excellent location. Close to transportation, to 30 restaurants, shopping, and view of the Bridge. Staff is very helpful. Breakfast buffet is expensive if not pre-purchased- we ate breakfast a La carte.

Yelp
Stayed four days at Marriott Sydney Harbour Circular Quay There are many pluses: Outstanding location including 5 minute walk to Circular Quay train station and ferry terminal, clean modern rooms, some rooms with great views of harbor, and helpful staff. And there are Minuses: Price, price and prices for everything. $2.50 AUD for a toll-free call, $14 AUD to launder a men's shirt (really), $30 (AUD) to dry clean a suit. And there are surcharges on Sunday. Internet is free to Marriott Marquis members and works well; otherwise, $10 AUD per day. Executive Lounge is nice oasis with complementary breakfast. Mostly simple fare, and main reason for 4 Stars. Ask for package deal that includes the Executive Lounge if you will be using the hotel for breakfast. Also includes complimentary drinks too at happy hour. Tip #1: Use the train from the airport directly to Circular Quay...a 5 minute walk to the hotel. About $16 AUD per person including airport surcharge (you'll learn that there is a surcharge for almost everything in Australia). Less than 20 minute train ride. Tip #2: If most concerned reducing total cost, then pay with cash from an ATM. Hotel adds a 1.5% credit card surcharge on top of usual 2-3 percent foreign currency surcharge added by most credit cards (but not Capital One). Gripe: $18 AUD for martini at the bar not including tip...a personal record.

Yelp
Excellent service, fantastic place to stay especially if you're not a local. Thank you for the memories!

Yelp
I am currently in mandatory hotel quarantine in this hotel for 14 days and currently on day 8. The hotel is serving meal kits 3 times daily however myself and so many other guests have so many complaints about the food quality and portion size of these meals. I have several food intolerances that are not being consistently catered for leaving me hungry, particularly from the breakfast and lunch service. Each time I call the staff of the hotel and even the government nurses, to request more food, or to be served something I can actually eat.. I am given the same response in that I should 'order food from an outside source' such as UberEats or do a grocery store delivery order. This is a shocking response considering that we are being forced to pay $60 per person per day ($900 for 2 weeks). If we choose to opt out of receiving these meals, we are still billed the same amount of money for food at the end of our stay. I should not be told to organise my own food when I am already paying for a meal service. Yesterday, I received no breakfast meal. When lunch came, I received a salad that had no meat/protein (I am not a vegetarian), or filling carbohydrates. At 1pm, being my first meal of the day, I was mortified to see this and immediately called the front desk and was told the same 'If you don't like it you can order outside food'. Following, dinner was served last night, it was some sort of beef chilli or pasta sauce (unclear) served with corn chips. As you can see from the photos, this is a tiny portion for a grown adult to eat for dinner let alone someone who hasn't had a proper meal all day. You may be thinking Im a tough person to cater for if i have intolerances but let me tell you that the other guests which I have connect with, are all receiving the same meals as I am, with a few tweaks here and there. These people are also furious with the quality and quantity of the food and we are so upset that hotels part of the govt quarantine program are getting away with this. I have sent an email to management about my food experiences and the service of the staff and their answers. I am yet to receive a response. At almost $3,000 per person for 14 days, and from what I have been told 650 guests currently in the hotel, my understanding is that this hotel is making a killing being apart of the govt quarantine program. With money like that, there should be no excuse to not provide adequate food portions and to cater to all food intolerance's. They have had at least 6 months to work this out.

Yelp
We had a good stay here. During check-in, the reception desk had a cart full of toys and asked my daughter to pick one freebie. She was delighted, as you might imagine. What a nice way to start off one's stay! As with most Marriott Hotels, the rooms were clean, modern, and comfortable. While not thrilling or fun in the way a B&B would bey, the rooms were unremarkable in a good way. Although our windows didn't face the harbor, we still had a nice view. Finally, one of the reasons to choose this hotel over some others is that it is conveniently located to the ferry stations, the Opera House, and many restaurants. We'd definitely consider staying here again during our next visit to Sydney.

Yelp
The hotel is located at the very convenient spot - only 1 block away from Circular Quay and very close to the Rocks. There is an Avis office just outside of the main entrance in case you decide to rent a car. Guestrooms are rather smaller side while most rooms have nice views of bridge, opera house, or waterfront. The lobby area could use some facelift - it's got kinda 80s atmosphere. If you have access to their Executive Club Lounge, you would appreciate great views while enjoying breakfast, or evening cocktails.

Yelp
Great central location to everything - from the Opera House to Westfield, everything was pretty much walking distance in every direction. And with true Marriott fashion, the service and amenities was good. They even upgraded us to the Opera House view since it was my birthday. Free wifi in the room and access to the Executive Lounge for Gold and Platinum members (yay!). The suite was clean, quiet and had a great view of the Opera House and was divided into 2 rooms - a living room and the bedroom, each with its own flat screen tv. But if it wasn't for the tall business building in front of the hotel, we would've gotten a nice view of the Harbour Bridge as well. The bathroom was big, fully stocked with bathroom supplies and equipped with both a bath tub and shower stall. The beds were uber comfy and lots of lighting all over the rooms - whether its for reading before bed or just making the room brighter. The Executive Lounge had great views of both the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. It offered appetizers in the late afternoon (5-7:30pm), desserts (7:30-9pm) at night and breakfast that had more variety of food I've ever seen. You can also pretty much make a dinner out of the appetizers. Not to mention, it was open bar during appetizers, which is usually cash bar in some of the US Marriotts I've stayed at. Minus 1 star for us waiting over 2 hours for our luggages. We called a couple of times for an update and they didn't bother telling us that it was under a different name. If my cousin didn't go down to the lobby, I don't know how much longer we would've waited for our luggages.

Yelp
Stayed here before and after our cruise. We came in early and went to the lounge while our room was being cleaned. Checked in about 9am. Front desk was very helpful and informative. Ordered room service which was good and quick. The only down side of our stay was the top sheet was missing from the bed. We were too tired to to call about it. Our second stay was very nice. We checked in at 8 AM as we had just gotten off the ship. Room was very nice. Concierge was helpful in mailing postcards and getting taxis.

Yelp
What a wonderful hotel right in the heart of Sydney. It is walking distance from all the major transportation and many of the famous sites. It was also close to many restaurants, The room was comfortable and the toilet products were first class. They provide free bottle water every day. The concierge and front desk were helpful and efficient. The fitness center was good for hotel standards.

Yelp
Very good and comfortable hotel room. I would rate the room furniture, bed comfort, and overall condition 5 out 5. The location is prefect, minutes away from everything; shopping, restaurants, opera house, cafes. The hotel staff are very friendly. I tried 'in room dining', I ordered Dal Tardka(yellow lentils served with rice and Indian bread/paratha) for AU$25 plus Au$ 5 delivery. I really liked their in room dining food, very testy and fresh. The breakfast (here is why i didn't give the hotel 5 out of 5). The breakfast is over priced to be honest, both in room dining and the buffet. I haven't try the in room breakfast but i did tried the buffet. I don't think the buffet worth AU $38 per person/day! It does has a large selection of bakery, omelet station, potato, red meat, and some fruits. I mean yes it's a really good buffet with variety of food but it not worth 38$! unless they add more fruits, vegetables... Etc.

Yelp
I am a Marriott girl, but to be honest, I don't expect a lot: a clean room, room service, good wifi. I am platinum elite, so I get a few perks. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I use Marriott for business and don't think of them for pleasure trips. However, the Sydney Harbor Marriott is pretty great. The executive club food is awesome, the staff are great and my room and view were beyond my expectations. I felt like I was on vacation and would stay here again, even if it was for pleasure.

Yelp
Just finishing up my stay here, but back on Thurs and I'm impressed. I usually stay n the Darling Harbour area but due to costs I booked this Marriott property. AS you are most likely aware it sits in a great location near the Circular Quay so there is lot's to do if you are doing the tourist thing. The lobby is under renovation but it will not effect your stay. I arrived early AM and was directed to a lounge were coffee, fruit, and shower facilities were available while I awaited my room. I had coffee then headed to their well equipped gym to work of the stiffness of my all daynight/day travel. The gym has shower facilities as well.
