Wow!!! The egg sandwich h was phenomenal! A generous amount of avocado, the egg was made a little runny (the way I like it), the bread was unlike any English muffin or biscuit I’ve had. It was fantastic! Also, the Aussie treats like Lamington and chausson pastry with spinach and cheese were phenomenal. The coconut water was great too but it took several people trying to get it open.

This place is GREAT!!!!! The people taking orders are always so kind, accommodating, and attentive. They are able to get people in and out to keep the line short and they get the coffee, drink, or food, to the customer within a reasonable time. The coffee never disappoints unlike a few other coffee shops in the Province area. WHEN you go treat your self to a delicious latte, and the best breakfast sandwich ever made (The BOLO sando). Not only is the quality of the drinks, food, and service unmatchable but the atmosphere is perfect for long homework sessions but it's also a good place to catch up with an old friend. 10/10 WOULD RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE

It is a welcoming coffee shop. It has several breakfast and sweet items that are delicious. The avocado toast has an amazing presentation as well as the taste.

Cute cafe right in downtown Providence. Service was beyond excellent. Wonderful young people here. Got breakfast which was delicious and the ambiance is very bright as well as welcoming.

I absolutely love the ambiance of this place. The customer service is consistent and I feel welcome there - especially with my little puppy, Nico! I recently got my boyfriend hooked on Chai Lattes - and he swears they make the best one. Personally, I tend to order the avocado toast and it is always super fresh. Great spot - highly recommend.

This clean, bright cafe was close to the hotel where I stayed for work, so I gave it a try. I grabbed a coffee, overnight oats and macaroons. I liked the quality and service enough to go back a second time to try their coconut espresso martini. It was just what I needed after a long day. I recommend the Cookie Monster macaroon if they have it in the case (blue with chocolate chip filling).

Casual little spot. The pictures make it look a lot bigger than it is, but it's cute! Great place to stop by for a bite if you're waiting for an AM or afternoon train. We are heading back to NY today and decided to stop by for breakfast. Our food was delicious! We got the Savory Toast & the Bolo Breakfast Sandwich, which consists of fried egg, quality prosciutto, sharp cheddar, Sriracha aioli and delicious limey avocado. I didn't know what bolo bread was, (apparently a Portuguese muffin) but it was wonderful! I added a little Franks to it and scarfed it down in 5 minutes. The coffee is smooth and fabulous ☕ Prices are great. 10/10 recommend!

This is a must visit for brunch place, when in Providence. Close to the train station, you can just walk straight up there and start your day with an amazing meal. The variety of options you get is amazing. Savoury, sweet, vegetarian. Name it and they have it. Bonus points for having this amazing reusable cups for the beverages. We liked it so much that we ordered two coffees so we can get two of them and we haven’t stopped using them in our daily life since then.

This shop is so cute. I had such a good feeling as soon as I went in. And then I was immediately obsessed with all their macaroon choices. The food looked amazing as well. I was in a rush, but will need to go back. All of their beverages are amazing. I took two to go. The staff were super helpful and went above and beyond. I had a wonderful experience. My only heads up is finding parking. But that's typical in Providence!

Quiet, clean space with healthy choices for lunch or fancy coffees and teas. Close to the Capitol and train station. Friendly staff. Order at the counter and wait to be called.

Sydney has two locations in Providence; having been to both, I can thoroughly recommend the location on Exchange St over the Thayer St. Exchange St location is smaller, but it's also the original! It's inviting and very bright - perfect for walking in on your way to or from the train station. I had a hot vanilla latte and a chocolate croissant - would recommend the latte! I expected there to be a bit more chocolate in my croissant.

Today, I had a disappointing experience. The barista, Ceria (I think that's how you spell her name) was very rude to me while I was defending myself against two women who falsely accused me of cutting in line. The women were actually standing in the middle of the cafe deciding what to order not in line, and I simply walked around them to get in line. They became upset and claimed I wasn't first, but Ceria's behavior only worsened the situation and she didn't help resolve it. Overall, her rudeness made the experience worse, despite my efforts to clarify the situation. Ceria shouldn't work in customer service if she is unable to behave professionally and treat customers with fairness and kindness.

The food here always seems like a good idea, but it tends to be disappointing. The avocado toast left a bit to be desired (maybe more toast less just bread?). The bolo sandwich could have had a fresher bolo. I haven't tried pastries on their own yet, but the lattes are great. Service is wonderful and it's pretty fast service.

I usually love their breakfest and lunch sandwiches.They're a little pricey, but good. BUT Don't ever get a salad from here.My salad ended up coming to seventeen dollars because I added chicken salad to it.And the salad looks like a side salad with like a tablespoon of chicken salad Ridiculous. It was very fresh!

Highly recommend Sydney! I got the avocado toast with an egg and was surprised at how large the portions are, and it came with Saffron. The photo doesn't do it justice! Also got an iced chai with a shot of espresso which tasted great. The barista was super nice and I love the cafe interior

I'm a frequent visitor here. Although parking isn't ideal, it's conveniently located next to the train station, and a short walk from providence place mall and Kennedy plaza. There is indoor seating and some outdoor seating in the warmer weather. Staff is always super nice and personable. Love that they have an after dark menu! Pastries are also a favorite. In addition to their good beverages, they also have some functional seltzers and additional drinks available. Pretty good grab and go selection too.

I've been to Sydney Providence multiple times since my first time and have been collecting points with every purchase. In mid-September, I went to Sydney Providence back to back to study for an upcoming exam. It was really nice, calm, quiet, and well lit for studying. I ordered a large ice unsweetened matcha latte with whole milk (Total $6.86 with service fee, city tax, and state tax). The next day, I came back to study and ordered a large iced blueberry honey matcha latte (Total $7.42). Out of all the drinks I've had, the sweetened with sugar cane matcha latte is the best. Early October, I was craving Sydney Providence and ordered my original order, large ice sweetened with sugar cane matcha latte. Most recently, I came back to have a large Madeline Cider Latte (Total $7.80). This tasted like fall in a cup. The apple cider was very good.

Such a cute spot especially to pull up and do work at or meet up with someone. Space is super clean and welcoming. Service was okay. One girl was kind of rude and I also personally thought the spot was a little pricey. Drinks were your typical drinks,

Cute and quaint coffee shop. I went there during a work conference and wanted to try a local shop instead of the chain ones. I ordered a tiramisu latte and a BEC, both were great. Also got a couple of macarons and those were great too. Service was good, they were helpful and kind. If you're in providence check them out.

This is a cute cafe located just blocks from the train station, Amtrak, the RI State House and many other downtown landmarks. They serve top notch items with fresh ingredients and excellent service. Absolutely loved this coffee shop! I can't believe I didn't know of its existence until lately! Their macarons are stellar, and their matcha lavender green tea is to die for!! My fiancé also enjoyed their lattes, which I will try next time im at Sydney's!

Such a great coffee spot! I had the chai latte with lavender and it was seriously one of the best I've ever had -- super smooth and perfectly balanced. My wife got the vanilla latte and loved it too. We also tried the breakfast sandwich and the CSI sandwich -- both were amazing. Fresh, flavorful, and made with care. The space is bright, welcoming, and has a really relaxed vibe. Easily one of our new favorite spots in Providence. Highly recommend!

Stopped by Sydney in Providence and I'm so glad we did. The coffee was delicious--smooth and just the right pick-me-up. I got the bacon and egg on a croissant and it was absolutely perfect: flaky, buttery, and packed with flavor. I took a bite of my boyfriend's chicken salad sandwich too, and it was so juicy and tasty I ended up taking the other half for myself! Cute spot with great food--I'll definitely be back.

Not a big fan of the salmon dill sandwich because it's mostly cream cheese and way too much dill. It has a very pretty presentation but I would probably get a different sandwich. Also the matcha is too sweet and not my thing.

This place is very understaffed. The wait for latte is super long, even though the barista is already super busy and fast. She still cannot managed it by herself. Because she was alone. Sometimes there's two people, but still super busy. If you want to grab a coffee before jump on the train, unless you have 20 minutes to spare don't do that. And the 20 minutes is only for one latte. The coffee, matcha, and food were good. But waited like 40 minutes for two sandwiches and two drinks. Macaroons were terrible, very chewy. Great location. I hope they hire more people in the future.

Sydney Providence has excellent casual breakfast options for people who don't want to sit for table service. Their avocado toast is fresh, with lots of complex flavors and textures, and the watermelon rash is an excellent pop of color and crunch. I enjoyed that the egg was cooked perfectly over easy and that everything was cool enough that the micro greens did not wilt. The takeout box fits one toast nicely and not a generic takeout box that could cause things to tip over en route. I wouldn't be able to comment on ambiance as I have only had this as takeout but on cursory pass of the cafe, it looks charming, well lit, and a good place for studying or working

I used to frequent this cafe with family a lot. It was consistent with high quality coffee, fresh pastries, great sandwiches and fantastic vibe. The location is perfect close to the train station. People were friendly. Then the ownership changed and my family members moved away from living in the area. I haven't been back since.

I have wanted to try Sydney for a long time, but never had a good opportunity. I ended up going to the location on Exchange Street on a quiet Sunday morning and I'm so happy I did. They had a good number of options on the menu. I ordered a chocolate raspberry latte and my boyfriend ordered a matcha latte. I also ordered a classic breakfast sandwich (bacon, egg, and cheese) on a croissant and he ordered the bold breakfast sandwich while came on a bolo roll. We really enjoyed our food, drinks, and the crisp, clean ambiance in the restaurant. The waitstaff were super friendly and brought our food out to our table. My only complaint is that there really isn't great parking options for the Exchange Street location - which obviously isn't the restaurant's fault! It was really convenient for the people staying in the hotel next door, but for locals, parking wasn't ideal. We snuck into the lot across the street since no one was around, but I imagine during more busy times that would most likely be a pay to park lot. I hope to try the location on Thayer street, as there is more street parking available in that area!

I went to the new Sydney on Thayer Street, which used to be Blue State Coffee. It's still a comfortable coffee shop in the heart of College Hill. I love that they serve me my coffee in a glass mug -so classy!!

One of those treasures you stumble into on the road. The food is top tier - and the people who work here are fantastic. Even the design is comfortable without being forced.

Came here on a hot day for drinks. My friend and i got two different type of refresher. Honestly they tasted like medicine. We definitely have had better elsewhere. We were disappointed in the way it tastes. The coffee was good! Staff were friendly. Definitely had seating.

Amazing! The food was delicious, and the matcha was fabulous. It was really kind that they took the time to make it a bit sweeter for my daughter! The banana bread was perfectly baked, and not too banana flavored. The decor was cute and simple, just what you would want to see in the morning. Definitely recommend this place!

we came when the kitchen is closing in a minute, the staff is nice enough to take our order, so grateful Beautiful environment , clean comfortable. I ordered Americano with which surprised me, it could be one of the best. Iced mohca and nitro are average The sandwiches are 'ok', look great but tasting average. So sad my favorite croissant is VERY cold and taste below average, lack of butter. Definitely could improve on the pastry

Cute place, but don't order online. I was charged about 3 dollars more for my breakfast sandwich than what was listed on the menu board. I also ordered the normal breakfast sandwich which was missing the cheese and micro greens listed in the description

This cafe is aMAZING. The pastries and food are delish! The staff is kind and the coffee was perfection.

We dined here yesterday and loved it! Keep in mind that you order first at the counter and then the food will be brought to your table. I had the avocado toast and plussed it up with the smoked salmon and fried egg. Deliciousness on top of deliciousness! It is a little bit on the pricey side ($16) when you add on the extras but so worth it. The cheese on their did give the open face toast some extra saltiness but delicious nonetheless. Hubby got the bolo which was very good - soft, warm bread with cheese/ ham. It was smaller than we thought it would be. We tried a variety of iced coffee drinks and they were all very good and oatmilk is available which is always a plus.

I visited the new one in Thayer, don't bother. Overwhelmed employee trying to wait in 15 people and a very long wait. They had one person taking all the orders, making coffee and serving pastry's. The milks were empty and getting them filled was a challenge. I asked the employee who was making avocado toast for milk and was ignored. The food was meh....

Great find for breakfast! I was staying at the Renaissance so I was looking for a near by breakfast place. The hotel has limited hours for breakfast along with limited food options, so why not explore! I think Covid has impacted hours so Panera and Cheesecake Factory located next to the hotel were not open for breakfast. No problem... I got to check out more of the city. It was a nice walk (about 0.3 miles away) to Sydney. I got to walk right past the Capitol Building, which I loved! As I approached Sydney, I could tell it was super cute. There was inside and outside seating, but I opted for inside right against the window. I ordered the avocado smash with smoked salmon and a hot matcha latte with almond milk (unsweetened). I food came out like a piece of art! So fresh and beautiful! I almost didn't want to eat it, but the dinosaur in my stomach said otherwise! I didn't finish my matcha latte, so I was able to get a to go cup for my walk back. The staff at Sydney is so nice too!

An interesting location but I am thankful that I have an alternative to Cafe La France inside the Union Train station. When I walk in, the dining area is clean and feels like you are at a furniture showroom or a gallery. Not that there is anything wrong with Cafe La France, but nice to know that there is a place that I can go to get my better coffee. This place uses Illy's coffee, which I love if you like Italian roast. The the baked goods, salad and sandwich offerings in the grab and go chiller looked well prepared. I opted to have then make a jamon serano and cheese panini. It was prepared with a tangy sauce and pressed on the grill. Worth the wait to get a hot sandwich. The only reason this place does not get 5 stars - I ordered a double espresso with a twist. I get double espresso with no twist on the side but lemon juice mixed in with the espresso. Wow! It was horrible. Ruined a perfectly good espresso. The young lady from La Salle academy who served me obviously did not know what I meant. I had to have her remake it. A learning curve is not that steep nonetheless its hard to get good help these days during COVID. Despite a small hiccup, I will be back again for my coffee and sandwiches.

OVERALL: 4.5/5 Sophistication at its finest at this Australia-inspired coffee shop. Their display of pastries and sandwiches was satiating while their decor was akin to an AD magazine (loved). Plenty of Indoor seating available although I opted to get it to go. Service was quick although dismissive at times (I had likely strolled in during peak hours). Their lavish matcha latte was delicious. As always, I opted for honey in place of their sweetener. I have been craving it since. Thank you for brightening my morning!

Iced Oatmilk latte and Bolo Breakfast Sriracha Sandwich are unmatched. My fav spot to go on the weekends for a late breakfast. Can sit inside or outside depending on the weather. Inside cafe is perfect for doing work or catching up with a friend. Staff is so welcoming and friendly. Always a great experience, excited to return!

This place is super cute! Lots of seating and I love the vibe, and the service was quick, and the baristas were kind. I have only had the Iced Matcha Latte, and it was okay, which is why I give 3 stars. I t just didn't have much flavor, but I cannot speak to any of the other items on the menu! The pasties look delicious, but I didn't get the chance to try any. I'd recommend to anyone wanting a coffee date or a good place to study!

Another cute cafe in Providence! Sydney offers elevated and creative breakfast foods and pastries along with high quality espresso drinks paired with fast and friendly service that is not to be missed! I am a HUGE fan of the Bolo breakfast sandwich (minus the prosciutto to make it veggie). The bread is so good and i am a sucker for a sriracha aioli! Definitely a good "treat yourself" spot! I've yet to try their coffee but my coffee snob buddy really likes it.

I recently gave Sydney a go for the second time. The first time we had a terrific experience, this time, not so much. We ordered a Vietnamese iced coffee, and the girls behind the counter made them wrong twice...there was barely any condensed milk, and the espresso tasted burnt. We also ordered avocado toast with prosciutto and it came out with salmon instead. The younger girls behind the counter were apologetic but to be honest, weren't as friendly as the previous person we encountered there which I believe was the owner. She was so friendly, kind, and made everything perfectly - which is why this place still gets 3/5 stars for me. Overall Sydney has a great atmosphere, menu and food selection. I think that the younger girls behind the counter just need a little more training and charisma

Great cafe near both the PVD mall and train station, super convenient. I got the sweet toast and I felt like with the honey and jam, the toppings were too sweet but nonetheless delicious.

I really like the staff and the communal vibe of this place. It's so nice and bright and very happy. I ordered a breakfast sandwich, which I could have easily made a home and a forgettable latte that the barista(?) raved about. I wasn't impressed. Nor was I impressed w the price tag. As I mentioned, aesthetically pleasing establishment w nice staff but the food unimpressive.

so many things wrong with my visit. i'm vietnamese, so i was super excited to try the vietnamese coffee. DO NOT GET THE VIETNAMESE COFFEE. it was quite literally the farthest thing from vietnamese coffee i had ever had in my life (not sweet, clumpy, i'm not even sure if they used standard ingredients). i also got the classic breakfast sandwich--not sure if it was just an off day, but it seemed like they were allergic to salt (aka, it had no flavor). i finished the sandwich though, purely because i was hungry, but in essence, it was just croissant, eggs, and a slice of cheese--none of which was seasoned. overall the best thing i had there though ! ADDITIONALLY, possibly the worst part of the meal was the breakfast yogurt bowl i bought. the raspberries were MOLDY, i had to double check with my eyes !! i brought it back and all they told me was "oh sorry about that, raspberries go bad sooo fast!" keep in mind, i was there in the morning for breakfast, so i imagine they just never threw out the food overnight. they gave me a new yogurt bowl (no refund apparently) and i tried it...it wasn't even that good. the yogurt itself was wayyy too thick (almost reminiscent of cream cheese?). on its own, the yogurt was nasty, but i imagine it would taste fine on a bagel. anyways, i bought 3 things from the sydney cafe, and all of it was bad. did i choose the wrong things to order or is it all bad? idk ! but i will not be back.

Cute coffee spot with delicious food and pastries. Tables inside and out. Brielle was super nice. We will definitely go there again when in pvd.
