"Sydney’s Custard has rebuilt in downtown Grand Marais following a devastating fire. The new spot serves the same flaky wood-fired pizza and overflowing cups of thick, creamy custard." - Justine Jones, Alex Lodner, Joy Summers

Support local businesses! Enjoy a brief hike followed with on the waterfront views from this hidden gem. Worth the hike up the stairs to view the bays and chill with a delicious frozen custard. Fresh air!! I drove up from the cities where air quality from Canadian fires still warn air quality. This place is a breath fresh air. Photo taken after hours just before sunset- most places closed early Wednesday night.

The apple Gorgonzola pizza was delicious. My fiancé said it was one of the most flavorful pizzas she’s ever had. I agree with her. The view from their upper deck is the best from any place to eat in Grand Marais!

Great little spot right on the lake for pizza. The pizza is actually good wood fired pizza which is increasingly hard to find in the mid west. There is picnic tables on the beach and roof to eat at. Bring your own drinks because a can of pop is $4!

A nice place to stop while in the area! The owners are very nice and have the cutest dog as well. The homemade pizza was like no other.

We came here for the custard- it was pretty average but the prices were fairly high for nothing special. The menu was also not clear. The deck up top was a pretty spot to sit and the staff were friendly but our order did take a long time.

Okay shakes. Pretty runny and didn't taste much like custard. We got a few different flavors to try and were disappointed- especially for the cost. Superior Creamery had much better ice cream.

Good ice cream. But the serving size is TINY and the price is astronomical. It was $8.65 for the smallest serving I've seen. Will never eat there again.

This was our first time to try Sydney's since it was just the two of us. We walked away last time when we came with our children cause it is pricey for a large family/group. If you want a good meal at a good price then try the Blue Water Cafe only a few blocks away. We did try the large wood fired pizza which was very good but too small for two people. The custard was good but also too pricey- $7 for only one dip. They have roof top seating providing great views of the lake and Artist Point. This was the best part of our experience eating our pizza while enjoying the fine Lake views on a beautiful day.
