The Best Restaurants and Bars Along Lake Superior’s North Shore in Minnesota | Eater Twin Cities

"Sydney’s Custard has rebuilt in downtown Grand Marais following a devastating fire. The new spot serves the same flaky wood-fired pizza and overflowing cups of thick, creamy custard." - Joy Summers

The pizza is amazing! The pizza has a delicious thin crust with a crispy undercarriage and great flavor from the wood fired oven. Also definitely recommend the Chicago dog and fries! The location and seating are perfect - grab a spot on the roof for beautiful views of the lake!

Limited selection but burgers were tasty. Also had nice thick shakes made with frozen custard. Tables in back next to the beach and on the roof (good views).

Cute little spot right before the point. They have a large selection of frozen custard, pizza, and other treats. Sydney's is a great spot to get some food and enjoy a cozy fall evening on the shore.

Got terrible thin crust pizza. Would never recommend this one. We got this pizza and it was burnt, left the place quickly and went to the pizza Sven & Oles pizza. They have the best one. We had thick crust veggie pizza two days.

This place is such a gem! Their wood-fired pizza is absolutely delicious — perfectly crispy crust with fresh toppings that taste amazing. What makes it even better is the location. We sat right by the beach where they have chairs set up, and it was so relaxing to enjoy good food with the sound of the waves in the background. To top it off, they also serve ice cream, which made the perfect sweet treat after the pizza. The whole experience was relaxing and enjoyable — definitely a great spot for a weekend outing. Highly recommend! 🍕🍦🌊

The apple Gorgonzola pizza was delicious. My fiancé said it was one of the most flavorful pizzas she’s ever had. I agree with her. The view from their upper deck is the best from any place to eat in Grand Marais!

Support local businesses! Enjoy a brief hike followed with on the waterfront views from this hidden gem. Worth the hike up the stairs to view the bays and chill with a delicious frozen custard. Fresh air!! I drove up from the cities where air quality from Canadian fires still warn air quality. This place is a breath fresh air. Photo taken after hours just before sunset- most places closed early Wednesday night.

This was our first time to try Sydney's since it was just the two of us. We walked away last time when we came with our children cause it is pricey for a large family/group. If you want a good meal at a good price then try the Blue Water Cafe only a few blocks away. We did try the large wood fired pizza which was very good but too small for two people. The custard was good but also too pricey- $7 for only one dip. They have roof top seating providing great views of the lake and Artist Point. This was the best part of our experience eating our pizza while enjoying the fine Lake views on a beautiful day.
