Symphony Hall

We saw Michael W Smith here. The balcony seats were surprisingly comfortable, though they had little leg room, especially the first round against the railing. Otherwise, it seemed like the views of the stage were great from no matter where you sit. The venue is beautiful. There are plenty of ushers around to help find seats. There is a parking garage right next door and the rates were affordable.

This is a beautiful theater with an older feel. It has a decent amount of seating and is relatively comfortable for shows. I saw The Rock Orchestra by Candlelight here and it was amazing. My mom told me stories about the shows she used to see here when she was younger. The ushers were very helpful. The theater staff made sure there were plenty of restrooms available to keep the wait short during intermission.

We had a great time here, excellent symphony concert with comfortable seats and the building is beautiful. Everyone was friendly and helpful and it all made for a wonderful experience. There is parking across the street but my friend and I made an evening of it by going to MGM and getting free parking then after winning a little money we went out for dinner then ended it with a concert here. Worth a visit.

Our second time here. Parking at MGM is easy,free, and convenient. Dinner first at the Casino. Symphony doors open at 7pm. You're best off starting to walk over at 7:25. The line has gone in.

This is a nice place to see a show. Great acoustics, comfortable seating, ok restrooms. We came for Phish in 1992 and again in 2025 for Trey acoustic and the room didn’t disappoint either time!!! 😊❤️⭕️

This is a beautiful building and would be a wonderful venue if it provided handicap options. There is absolutely nowhere to park around it for handicap people. There is also no elevator that goes up to the third balcony so if there's no room left in the small options available, then you are making an elderly handicap person walk up and down the steps. The seating on the 3rd balcony is also extremely uncomfortable. If it wasn't for the handicapped options, I would definitely give Symphony Hall much higher ratings as it is a beautiful building.

I had not seen a show here since 1991! I was worried the theater may be disheveled. Theater is in tip top shape. The sound is still extraordinary and I'm looking forward to the next concert I see there.

There's something to be said about listening to music in a historic building. Excellent acoustics. I was seated on the balcony and had a birds-eye-view of the orchestra. A wide range of prices encourages diversity of audiences in affordability. Music to my ears!

What's not to like in this venue?! This iconic hall is so architecturally beautiful! The "old-school" vibe was as I expected! I was the designated driver for my brothers 60th birthday gala- we saw Joe Bonamassa at the Springfield Symphony Hall! We were filed, in -masks required, and walked up the narrow staircases to the main event level. There was a "bar" where you could buy beers, sodas, chips, candy.... maybe bathrooms too. I didn't look too hard because my eye was on the chandelier in the main gathering room and the architecture of this gem! We sat stage right and we're so impressed with the ability to see the show from any angle. I bet there's not a bad seat in the house! I would definitely travel into Mass again to listen or see another show at the Springfield Symphony Hall! The pictures I'm about to share do not do this place justice.

First time here at the Springfield Symphony Hall. here to see the Cirque show. our seats are balcony 2nd row. view is awful not one person up here can see the stage without the bar in the way of it all. think twice people before purchasing tickets to any show. I'm also only 5"2' and my knees are touching the front back of the seat! terrible won't be back! and the show hasn't even begun!

Extremely tight seating , not very comfortable. Just didn't enjoy the concert as much as other places. Shame the Old building could use a remod

It's a shame, such a beautiful hall but hardly any good concerts/shows. Was looking for a good Christmas event to go to this year but all they have is the SSO. They use to have plays, a cappella groups etc for the holidays. Very disappointed, you would think with MGM in Springfield now they could bring in some other shows besides just the SSO.

worst sound guy literally ever i'm never coming back. wanted to see jason bonham zepp experience but saw muddy waters instead.

We went to see Aziz Ansari here recently. It's a beautiful venue, outside and inside! I thought it was charming and would love to come back again to see a musical or theater performance. Ushers and staff were very friendly and helpful. Being that we were attending a comedy show, I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to bring a drink to my seat. Au contraire!! They had handy portable glasses of wine! None of that being corralled into a lobby during intermission gulping down a beer. It was nice to be able to enjoy the show and enjoy a drink at the same time. Springfield is fortunate to have this space. Hope to be back soon!

We attended the International Basketball Hall of Fame's induction ceremony here, and the venue was nice. It's a small space, with good sound, lighting, helpful staff, and excellent views. The seats are spacious, and I say this because there were many 7-foot men in the building, and none looked stuffed into their seats. The Symphony Hall is also in walking distance (a few safe blocks) to some hotels, restaurants, and a casino.

Gorgeous acoustics, lovely venue (it's no Bushnell, but hey), and an easy to find location near I-91. I visited Symphony Hall for the first time tonight and watched an electrifying performance by the oh-so-talented Springfield Symphony -- Holst's "The Planets" and Dukas's "The Sorcerer's Apprentice." Clearly, I was nerding out in the best way possible. It's a wonderful cultural offering in downtown Springfield. Gotta say-- the venue was SO hot and stuffy that it kind of distracted me from parts of the performance, which is why I knocked the rating down a star. Some air conditioning would be niiiice. Tons of folks fanning themselves with the program made me realize I wasn't alone.

Springfield's SSO is renowned for being innovative, and its Springfield Hall is renowned for having "perfect acoustics." In my opinion, both are true. For a mid-sized city, Springfield has some big-time cultural options -- this being one of them.

Music Director, Maestro Kevin Rhodes puts on great performances at Springfield Symphony Hall! We've been to more than a handful of shows over the past two years and have always walked away humbled and filled with their increadible sound. If you are in doubt or a first-timer, find a show that includes popular music, or go when the chorus (about 120 voices) is also performing. Also - FYI - I have sat in the 4th row center, in the middle and up on top in the back and I personally like the least expensive seats because you can see a better overview of the performers and the sound is just fantastic! Matter of fact, I just checked and the end of season show is May 7th, 2011 and I'm going to go buy my tickets! Bravo Maestro Rhodes - Springfield is lucky to have you!

A gem- right in our own backyard. A lovely theater with nice acoustics. Comfortable seats. Acoustics were off initially at the recent show I was at, but they fixed that. It's a shame more people don't go. Free parking. No need to drive to NYC or Boston.

Beautiful architecture, all the seats are good ones, and they allow you to bring wine to your seat now; frankly, what more can you ask for? Springfield gets a lot of bad press, and plenty of folks say there is nothing to do in this city, but the SSO really shows off some of the great local cultural offerings. I have a great time whenever I go!

I went to the Symphony Hall on November 19th, 2010 to see the band Barenaked Ladies. It's a pretty good venue. I don't typically take a huge liking to theater-style venues, but this isn't too bad. It's definitely one of the smaller venues I've been to. It can probably hold about 2,500 to 3,000 people, or somewhere around there. It is a very old building, and that definitely shows in the design, but you can tell that they keep it in good condition. I don't like theater venues that have over-the-top designs, and are too fancy for their own good. This venue isn't like that. It has a fairly-fancy design, but it does remain basic enough for my liking. Getting in and out of the venue can be a bit crammed due to all the people, but once I was in my seat I had a comfortable amount of room. The acoustics here are also pretty good. I have read reviews where people claim it has the "best acoustics" and "perfect acoustics". I do disagree here. There is a bit of an echo in the venue, and from what I've heard, the sound can be a little choppy if your seats are front and center. But the sound quality was good, and once BNL got rocking I didn't even notice any problems. Although it isn't my favorite venue, it wasn't bad, and I would go back again.
