Detroit’s Best Hidden Bars and Speakeasies | Eater Detroit

"For those who want to sip a glittery purple cocktail at one of Ferndale’s largest (dog-friendly) patios, the Syndicate is a must-visit. The bar and restaurant opened in 2023 in a nondescript concrete building on Vester Street just off of Nine Mile. Snacks and salads are served alongside imaginative drinks like the Violet Stratosphere, the aforementioned purple drink with butterfly pea-infused gin, creme de violette, and gold Electricdust edible glitter." - Mickey Lyons

First time to Syndicate and absolutely loved it. Chill and welcoming atmosphere. Delicious hand crafted cocktails and yummy appetizers. Cool indoor area but also we found out about the outside patio, pool table and extra seating. We will definitely be back and a special shout out to Janelle, the bar manager, who made our tasty cocktails and showed us around the building. Great space. Can’t wait to come back!

Luna was the best server I’ve ever had. She was so kind and knew everything about the menu. The vibes were immaculate. Drinks were all hand crafted and out of this world amazing, definitely made with love. Food was exceptional. I had passion fruit ceviche, charcuterie board and steak frites with a chimmichurri sauce and truffle fries. Hands down one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. They are seasonal menu and make everything in house. There was dancing in the back. Highly recommend for any occasion

Google
Devilish eggs, filet cooked to perfection, and cocktails that double as a show. The Violet Stratosphere comes with a golden elixir that literally dances on your tongue. 10/10 experience at Syndicate — no notes.

Google
Service was outstanding! Drinks were delish with the exception of the Syndicate old fashioned. It had a great presentation but not a great taste. Ordered 5 items from the menu and some were great and a few just ok. Overall we would return. Definitely had a vibe similar to Victoria's in Oxford. Follow us @ mnjinthemitten on IG and FB

Google
Had an excellent meal here prior to a show in Detroit. Our server was extremely friendly and attentive, even made sure the timing of our meal was ok based on when we needed to leave for our event. Our food was delicious and the cocktails were top notch. Definitely will be coming back next time we get a chance.

Google
Absolutely incredible dining experience. So much thought put into every detail. All the cocktails are incredible and so unique. Everything recommended by our server Luna was 13/10, and she was so friendly, as was the rest of the staff (and they were very well staffed and moving with the kind of efficiency you don’t see often these days). My only regret is not trying it out sooner. Also had really impressive NA drink options!

Google
This is really a pretty cool place. Loved that you have a restaurant/bar up front and a chill lounge in the back. Food was all great, burger perfectly cooked, but what was really amazing was the carrots, so good. So we ended up going on Halloween and they were having a Beetlejuice costume contest, but it was all good because they had drinks just for the night. They were well crafted and outstanding.

Google
Wow! The place we never knew Ferndale needed! The atmosphere is spot on, the lounge out back is 🔥 The food was excellent, the drinks were outstanding! It was the perfect Friday Night spot. I had the stuffed mushrooms, carrot and ginger soup, and the filet entree. All were cooked to perfection and hit all the right notes. Unique in their own ways, making them different and delicious from other restaurants. Fall vibes were on point! The house made steak sauce was awesome! The bartender (Luna) took me on a little journey through the drinks menu and had me try the Violet Stratosphere and Book of Roses. They were unique and SO so good! I ordered a Starry Night and a Yes Please to round out the evening.. those were ALSO the right decision! 10/10 all the way around.

Yelp
I had such a wonderful experience at Syndicate. Here's what was good: we were a party of 3 on a Friday around 6 PM and were seated immediately. The atmosphere was lively and enjoyable from the start. Our server was friendly and welcoming. I started with a classic Margarita which was perfectly made. I ordered the 5 oz Filet Entree. It was perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious. My son enjoyed the Herb Roasted Chicken and my husband ordered the Build Your Own Flatbread and he was very pleased with that. For dessert we had the Panna Cotta... so good! I can't wait to return!

Yelp
Stopped by with friends who had previously.went for a birthday and enjoyed it. Super cute ambiance, house music vibes. Shout out to Brian and Jessica who took care of us. Deco Daisy -4/5 very complex yet cohesive. Hemmingway breakfast (cocktail of the moment- rum, lime, apricot jam)- 5/5, delicious, refreshing tart and sweet. NA Expresso martini 3.5/5- tastes like straight coffee missing something to make it more interesting. Overall, great experience. Loved the late night deals (offered 9p-close). Would definitely return when I visit.

Yelp
It was about a 30 minute wait for a party of 4 on a Friday night so not terrible. It's not a large place so a wait is to be expected. Our waiter was very nice, explained and answered all our questions. The BYO burger called out to me and didn't disappoint. I appreciated the toppings being cold on the burger, they were very crisp (nobody likes soggy lettuce). Another cute, quaint space with a variety of drinks and fully loaded bar. I will definitely be returning here. FYI gratuity is already added to the bill.

Yelp
Cute, cozy restaurant with several build-your-own items on menu if you like that (flatbreads, burger). Got the calamari, butcher's creed (or greed i can't remember) and harvest salad - all were really good! The cocktails were expensive IMO ($15-17) but also made extremely well and with interesting ingredient combos so it was worth it!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is very small and cozy. The service is friendly. If you're looking for a low vibe place while it's packed. This is the place good food nice drinks. The only downside I would have to say is the kale Caesar salad dressing is very very light. I had the Paloma while my son had a lemonade. My son ordered the prime build it yourself burger with fries. I had the kale Caesar and calamari: both tasty. Must try. Just add a little dressing on the side. Not a very diversified crowd but it's okay.

Yelp
Finally stopped in to the Syndicate! LOVED the ambiance - anything with some mysticism and snakes had me sold. The interior is super modern and the bar is gorgeous. I loved how all the serving staff wore black and gold. The cocktails are truly crafted to perfection and they even give you tips on how to drink some of them for optimal taste! The menu is full of vegetarian options so we opted to split a few things: flight of deviled eggs, the green goddess bagel and a flatbread. Overall we had a great time and I will def be back!

Yelp
I sincerely wanted this to be a glowing review of Syndicate, but unfortunately it will be less than glowing. The pros of this restaurant, in my opinion, are that it is female owned and operated, the décor was tasteful and classy, the menu included a nice variety, the space itself was on the smaller side and intimate which I appreciate, outdoor seating was available, the servers and staff were very friendly. The food was good but nothing extraordinary. It'd give the food a 7.5/10. The cons: The service was a bit slow, the prices were high and there were several automatic fees. What takes my review from a 10 down to a 7 is the pricing. It's made very clear that there is a 20% automatic gratuity on every bill, regardless of the size of your party. We had a party of 2, so although I would've likely left a 20% tip anyway, I thought a 20% automatic gratuity was excessive and unnecessary for two people. I always wonder what would happen if I received terrible service? Second, I was charged a fee for using a credit card, which on a $170 bill amounted to $5.10. Not horrible, but, again, excessive and there was no mention of it. Third, my daughter ordered a "Syndicate Old Fashioned" which was priced at $19.00. OK, a bit high, but OK. Then she ordered a Maker's Mark on the rocks. She received a standard 2 oz. pour. We were charged $13.00 for the Maker's and another $4.00 for "Rocks". Was I charged for ice? The total of the drink was then $17 for 2 oz of bourbon! In sum, our bill was $170 (two non-alcoholic drinks, one old fashioned, one Maker's on the rocks, two entrees and two desserts), credit card fee was $5.10, sales tax $10.20, automatic 20% gratuity of $35.02 which brought the bill up to $220.32. I do not feel I received $220.32 worth of food/drinks/service. I truly do not think this restaurant will survive if this is how they will continue to charge its customers.

Yelp
This review is for drink and atmosphere only. Syndicate is a cool space, just off of Woodward, in Ferndale. Good vibes, good drinks, and great service. Music is on the right level. We stopped by after dinner, and got lucky on a perfect summer Saturday evening to get a table on the patio. They have several very fun cocktails, but also offer the basics. The server was good about recommending suggestions.

Yelp
Great spot. Fantastic cocktails and NA beverages. Get there early on the weekend, not a big spot. Also tried the calamari and would recommend. Will be back!

Yelp
4.5/5 so I'll round up to 5. This place was pretty cool - my neighbor and I went here today before a show downtown. She had been once previously, and I had never been. They have an extensive cocktail menu - I read here on Yelp beforehand that they tend to do better with the cocktails versus the actual food, but I actually thought both were good. My neighbor ordered an espresso martini and I ordered a mocktail, because I was tired today - it's called the No, Thank You mocktail, and it included a smidge of numbing flower (flower from a numbing pepper) on the side, which was super interesting. We didn't get any appetizers but I had the London broil and my friend had the filet. The London broil came in a mushroom demi-glace sauce and was excellent. The potatoes that it came with also had a nice spice to it, some sort of Mediterranean spice the waitress said, and it came with a fantastic butter with salt on top. The entrees come with your choice of salad or soup; the salad sounded rather standard, so I opted for the Rutabaga & Parsnip soup. I'm not really a fan of soups that aren't really soups ... i.e., more like mush, and that's what this one is. However, it had a sweet taste that I wasn't expecting, and it was interesting; it comes with some bread, which was tasty to dunk in the soup. Although the entree was excellent, the star of the show was definitely the dessert we ordered: Frostbite Brownie sundae, which was cold on top (ice cream) and super warm on bottom (warm brownie), and included bits of peppermint sprinkled on top too. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that our waitress, Morgan, was also excellent - she was very knowledgeable about the menu and she checked on us frequently, but not an overwhelming amount. She told us that the menu changes every three months, so if you go in the spring it will be a different menu - pretty interesting. They use fresh vegetables and whatnot because of that. I will say this was a smidge pricey but on par with other places I've been in Ferndale - The mocktails were mostly $10 and cocktails started at $14. I'd like to come back and have a few cocktails but because I was tired today I stuck to a mocktail, which still had great presentation. Overall I was very pleased with our dinner here and I will hopefully be back sometime soon.

Yelp
Syndicate is a sexy quaint spot for a drink. We had dinner with friends there last night. The food was good/fine. I'm a foodie and it just doesn't hit the mark. We had a flatbread, minestrone soup, and calamari. I wouldn't order any of these 3 again. They were fine but not good. However, I'd definitely go back for a cocktail. I love the space. Tell your Tinder date to meet you at Syndicate.

Yelp
Eclectic place. Cozy, great staff. Amazing cocktails with a unique menu. Effort to find the hidden menu is fun. Food is good - stable. Went to celebrate a birthday and they made it special with attentive service and an awesome dessert.

Yelp
The vibe in this place is super nice, hip music and it feels upscale but sans the pretentiousness. The drink menu is extensive and they have a lot of non alcoholic drinks that looked amazing. Got the chicken sandwich and it hit the spot. Food is a tad overpriced but it was good overall.

Yelp
The food here is really good and different from other restaurants I have been in. I really enjoyed their drinks as well. The unique atmosphere and dining experience was what really stood out to me. The place is very nicely designed and decorated. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable in what they are serving. I love the spicy margaritas here! I would definitely recommend checking this place out.

Yelp
Went here on a whim with my husband. Love that it's female owned and operated, all the artwork is also done by female artists. We were seated outside on the patio as it was a beautiful afternoon. We ordered a few items off the menu and everything was really good. Our server was lovely and took the time to explain the menu and cocktails. Cocktail menu is pretty extensive which is nice and their menu is seasonal so it changes often. We were there just as the spring menu was ending. Overall a very cute place to have dinner and drinks either with friends or for a date night. We will definitely be back to try the summer menu!

Yelp
Wow! What a night at Syndicate Ferndale! The cocktail kings....the Violent Stratosphere rimmed with Electric Dust is a tingling experience. New to the Ferndale scene, Syndicate is most certainly a must stop if you're looking for unique options for small plates and cocktails. The back room is cool a spot to hang out and play a game of pool.

Yelp
A nice spacious chill spot. I loved that they had multiple mock tail options. Everyone else cocktails and enjoyed them. So I'd say it's a great place to take a mixed group of friends who do and don't drink alcohol. The service was also nice as well.

Yelp
Food - the rutabaga and parsnip soup was more like a puree than a soup. Great flavor but not at all what I was expecting. It went really well with the ravioli, though. The ravioli was good on its own, but the soup acted like a sauce (that's how thick it was) and added an additional layer of flavor. The frostbite brownie got good reviews, as did the chili and chicken piccata Drinks - very unique drink menu. Lots of them sounded really good, and we enjoyed the ones we chose. They're a little on the pricey side, but good. Be careful what you order, because you get what you get - no send backs. Your server will tell you that up front. Service/Ambiance - the service was great. The host sat us immediately, and our server was very knowledgeable of both the drink and food menus. It's a cozy restaurant (ie. not very big) , nicely decorated, great music playing in the background. Please read the picture in the bathroom

Yelp
Perfect spot to hangout this summer with friends enjoying a nice cocktail (or 2 or 3...). The outdoor patio has a lot of seating and the open garage has a pool table. Didn't have a chance to try the food but the cocktails were delicious. They are very creative and presented beautifully. Our waitress was very nice and attentive despite it being such a busy Friday night.

Yelp
What a beautiful addition to the Ferndale scene. Located just off Woodward, this inviting restaurant drew us in with the patio lights and exterior glow. The patio is very large and inside is smallish with many intimate seating options. We came in fairly late, but in time for last call for food and a few drinks. Madeline greeted us at the door and let us choose seating. We sat in a cozy high top in her section. She was a fantastic server full of smiles and information about the menu. We ordered the carrot ginger vegan soup. Didn't feel like salad and the flatbread dough isn't vegan. There are many options for omnivores. Madeline knew her stuff as a fellow plant based gal. We ordered three drinks over our visit: Shogun Showdown, Into Fruition (my fav), and Rose Quartz. The cocktail program is run by Janel and truly a work of art. They offer a thoughtful mocktail menu too (plus wine and beer). Drink names are themed and punny. The interior design is gorgeous right down to the bathrooms. Cream veined stone and gold accents throughout. I believe this was an auto shop prior. You'd never know now. Looking forward to my next visit already.

Yelp
We stopped in to Syndicate for a cocktail without really knowing much about it. We were so pleasantly surprised! Queer owned, rotating menu, and very modern inside. Our cocktails were delicious. We didn't try food, but everyone else's plates around us looked great. A great place for a date night or drinks with friends!

Yelp
Spinach, ground beef, olive, garlic, pepper, onion, mushrooms! Toppings are an additional cost but it's sooo TASTY!

Yelp
Finally got to try Syndicate since their opening. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the lovely Michigan May evening. We ordered a few cocktails and shared the feta lavender spread. The drinks and app were so good! There were many options on the menu, and now we need to go back to try something new. We ordered a salad and a turkey burger and fries to share. Great food, and the service was amazing. I highly recommend visiting Syndicate, they have a great vibe, service, food and cocktails!

Yelp
Syndicate is a fun spot in Ferndale, a bit tucked away off of the central intersection of 9 Mile and Woodward. It's located across the back alley from Imperial and is its own standalone building that is very understated. They have an outdoor patio space area with all these individual tiny house style huts for you to dine in all year long, a small back room of the restaurant with several billiard tables, and then a larger space for the main area of their restaurant. There's a lot going on in this building, but all of it looks very inviting and interesting, so I know there's a lot of various occasions for which you could come here to dine, play, or snack. The vibes in here are very sophisticated, especially in the restaurant area. All the waiters wear black and gold, which fits in style with the ambiance of the restaurant. There is definitely a lot of intentionality throughout the space with what they have used to design and it continues even throughout the bathrooms. The food and drink is really fun here. My favorite dish was the appetizers of a flight of deviled eggs. All of their deviled eggs were prepared in unique and incredible ways that I have never tasted, and they all worked really really well! My friend who also got the deviled eggs said they might have been the best deviled eggs she's ever had, and I might have to agree with that! The drinks are pretty awesome as well, they had a great selection of mocktails and the one I got came with cotton candy, which was fun, but ultimately the drink wasn't as exciting as I thought it would be from its description. But I really appreciated that everyone's drinks were so unique and came with very unique mini garnishes. One friend's drink came with a small cone of pretzel sticks clipped to the side of his glass with a mini clothes pin - how fun! Things are very creative here and you'll definitely have a very entertaining time. For my main, I got their salad, which was not the greatest. It was very basic and unremarkable, but there was a good quantity, they used good ingredients, and it was an okay balance of all the ingredients. Overall, things are definitely on the pricier side at Syndicate, so make a note of that, but it's definitely worth a trip and a splurge in my personal opinion given how unique the experience can be. Finally, I will note that I came with my service dog in training and I know how strict Ferndale is with their dogs. I know that the Syndicate is a dog-friendly outdoor patio space, but given that my dog is a service dog in training, I have taken him to a lot of restaurants and other establishments throughout downtown Ferndale with minimal fuss. But Syndicate was by far and large the place that questioned me the most about my service dog being inside. The manager asked a lot more questions than are appropriate to ask given the laws we have in place with service dogs in Michigan, if I'm being completely honest. But ultimately, they allowed us to dine, but I could feel the manager keeping a really close eye on our table throughout the entire meal and that definitely impacted my experience quite a bit, so I wanted to make sure to include that as a word of caution to those coming here with their service dogs and service dogs in training.

Yelp
I've been here a few months ago for dinner, but didn't take the opportunity to review. Dinner was good! I came back for a few cocktails & I wasn't disappointed. They have seasonal cocktails, which is pretty cool! The drinks are really good & the ambiance is very sexy inside & out. Please get the Old Fashion, it comes with pretzels...now that's a win!! Also, the pool table is free! The artwork on the walls are by local artist, which is pretty dope! This is a great place for a date night or a girls night out! Shout out to Morgan who was very attentive!

Danielle P.

Yelp
Had a wonderful experience here. Food, drink, ambiance and service were 10/10. The deviled egg flight was delicious, and a friend and I shared a flatbread, which was also great. Only negative I would say is the prices, which are a tad high, but that seems to be everywhere these days!

Yelp
The service was amazing here, all of the staff went above and beyond and did there best to accommodate a lot of people. It is very trendy and decorated in an interesting way but the space itself is pretty small. They have a main room with 12ish tables and 8ish bar seats. I went on a Saturday and it was packed for hours. You are permitted to wait in the lounge area in back (can order drinks and apps there, mostly couch/chair seating, limited table space). The outdoor seating area would be nice in the summer to add space but looks like it is closed for the season. I was really excited about the menu but the food was a bit disappointing. We got the filet and the short rib. The filet was ordered medium rare and came out medium well. The short rib was really fatty and the potatoes were pretty bland (would have preferred a true mashed potato, instead of the chunks). It seemed like there could have been a veggie with it as well. For appetizers, we had the pears with goat cheese and the stuffed mushrooms. The pears were ok but they came out cold and I was expecting warm for some reason. The mushrooms were good but both apps were overpriced for the quality. The one food item that I really liked was the Tuscan soup that came with my entree. It was hearty and flavorful- came with chicken, potatoes and two peppers in this creamy sauce, served with bread). They also have an extensive list of pretty cocktails and mocktails. Overall I would say that I expected better food quality for the price point but willing to give a second chance because they are new and the service was so good.

Yelp
Came here last week with two friends. The inside is gorgeous! Customer service is A+, and not just our server, but everyone we encountered working there. Drinks are good but pricy, as is everything these days. I had the prosciutto sandwich, which I absolutely loved. Bonus points for actually being able to make crispy sweet potato fries! Deducting a star because it is WAY too loud in here. I don't like to feel like I'm in a nightclub.

Yelp
A new must try restaurant/mixology bar in Ferndale. Cozy space with neat decor from tables to the plate settings. We had a party of 4 on Friday evening just walked in without having a reservation around 7:30 and were sited right away. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and recommended a couple different drinks based on you preference. The cocktail menu is extensive and also available to see online with pictures of the drinks. I have tried Ruby Slippers and Syndicate Old Fashioned. Both excellent! The neat thing about the Old Fashioned was the ice cube inside the glass had their signature snake imprinted on it just so cool We also have ordered Calamari and Better Then Take Out-Mongolian beef skewers cooked perfectly. In the summer time they will have the back patio and music as well. Great night will definitely be back!

Yelp
We were out celebrating and Syndicate was on our list! We got there right as they open. They offer a brunch menu, but we had already eaten. We enjoy sitting at the bar and watch all the magic happen! This place is relatively small inside. But don't let that fool you. They definitely knew what they were doing! They have a variety of very unique cocktails. It was fun watching them come together! Go in with an open mind and try something new! You won't be sorry!

Yelp
Cute new little place! Has good outdoor seating and the bar inside has uplifting vibes. The staff were friendly and the spring menu has lots of delicious cocktails to choose trom! Bacon deviled egg is a must try! Look for the secret menu hidden inside the restaurant to try some cool stuff.

Yelp
Me and mine went here for brunch last weekend. Inside looks fresh with great bar and a cozy seating area that actually is larger than I thought- walking back have space behind kitchen and looks like when weather nice outside seating. We were greeted friendly and warmly and escorted to our seats. There is a printed drink menu with interesting cocktail selections and the "mains." The brunch menu was online and economically priced. The mimosa is the best value at $8 with $2 refills. Our server encouraged us to note the "drink policy" that in essence states- you buy the drink- it's yours- we take too much time and effort to make them to take them off your bill and make you something you might like- so buyer beware. (Interesting... ) We ordered drinks. They took a while to appear. Several were boozy and some were not appreciated and not consumed (and of course not returned). We ordered brunch and hmmmm - The quiche was "bit sized" and not a very satisfying portion. The avocado toast was well cold. The toast not toasty. The egg cold. Hell the bacon was cold. Only reason I ate it was because I was starving. The French toast by far most interesting and actually tasted like a giant coffee cake . Come here for drinks- h to see will be a wait and of course if you don't like it - tough!#* Perhaps in a few months the kinks will be worked out? Not in a hurry to return though.

Yelp
Syndicate is a women owned and family owned business with a very cool and classy vibe. It's smaller inside than I expected but very well decorated. Low lighting settings is always my jam and to have that feel in the middle of the day is always a star in my book. So I went there for brunch which is only served on Sundays from 11 to 4. I ordered the quiche Lorraine which I am a total stickler for and I was not disappointed at all. Flavorful and great texture. I failed to snap a picture of the pancakes I split with my partner in crime but they were fluffy with a nice crispy top. Now to my favorite part. The mimosa! It's rare for me to get a pineapple mimosa and it was yummy! Also for only 2 dollars you can get a refill! How amazing is that. Service was very warm and inviting and everyone was just tentative enough where they weren't overly checking in or forgetting about us entirely. Can't wait to go back again and try their dinner menu!

Yelp
We popped in here for after-dinner drinks and dessert. I had Paris Nights, my partner had the Syndicate Old Fashioned. The cocktails were lovely, the service good. We sat at the bar, but unfortunately got splashed once while an over-zealous bar tender was making drinks across from us. Accident aside, we were confused to notice a large jug of something labeled "syndicate old fashioned" on the bar. Not sure if it was just a component or the entire pre-made cocktail itself, but unfortunately it wasn't the best old fashioned we've had. Paris Nights was delicious though! We ordered a cinnamon roll for dessert. It came in a ramekin with the roll on top of warmed apple slices. The cinnamon roll itself was very dense and not very flavorful, tasting of store-bought dough and not of homemade rolls. The apples were nice but the two flavors did not go well together. The evening further took us by surprise when a 20% gratuity was automatically included in our two drinks and a dessert meal, turning our ticket to a whopping $60. I asked why the menu says the gratuity is only included for parties of 8 or more if it got applied to us (party of 2) and they said it hadn't been updated on the menu. It was a nice place for drinks, but I'm not sure we'll be so quick to return.

Yelp
Syndicate is a top notch experience with knowledgable waitstaff and top notch mixology. We ordered bread and the peach salad first. The bread was nice and soft, and the peach salad was well-balanced and flavorful with spring mix, candied pecans, goat cheese, and chunks of fresh peach with a peach dressing. So tasty. It was enough to share. The cocktail menu is intricate and delicious. Anything you choose will be wonderful. The menu itself is detailed giving information on dietary restrictions or allergies. I love a good, informative menu! I chose the spaghetti squash and was not disappointed. It was full of flavor and was a filling portion size. Our server, Shane, was a delight. They made the experience memorable and fun! They were able to recommend drinks based on our taste preferences. The recommendations were spot on and very tasty. The violet stratosphere drink comes with instructions. If you love trying new things, I highly recommend it. If you're super cool to your server, they may have a surprise for you after your meal! You'll have to go exploring to find the surprise inside of the restaurant. The decor is modern and clean. The bathroom is even pretty! Go here, request Shane, and be ready for a wonderful experience.

Yelp
Well designed interior, amazing cocktail list, seasonal menu. If you love loud electronic music this place is a great one for you. Those of us who prefer a quiet place for conversation may not find it as comfortable. I liked my tandoori turkey burger and sweet potato fries. My wife was less excited about her salad which left off some of the signature ingredients. Service was decent. We partially judge this by how low the water glass gets before it's refilled. Here it was right on time. Never got down below the last sip.

Yelp
Disappointed because we weren't sure about drinks and we asked our waitress to make a better decision while they have a rose drink that basically taste pretty foul like feet It's what I would imagine if you were tasting your feet and smelling it. Well, the thing is there is no refunds on any drinks and the waitress never even told us. And then on top of that they add gratuity so be aware of that. thought that was pretty shady, but the vibe is pretty cool. I would've liked to eat in there. The food looks good.

Yelp
Stopped in for drinks before dinner at Tiger Lilly (wish we had stayed here but thats another story). Had 4 amazing mezcal drinks and split the poached pears which were absolutely incredible. Bartender was exceptional as well. Will be back for dinner next night out.

Yelp
Atmosphere, service, and cocktails are amazing. The food is pretty consistently bland. Once the food improves, this is a 5-star spot for sure!

Yelp
Pros: Our service was great, the ambiance and aesthetic were delightful, I loved the option of outdoor seating for the summer, portion sizes are generous, and some of the cocktails were legitimately creative masterpieces! Cons: The food is overpriced and shockingly dull. We went as a party of 6 and none of us received a dish that was at all impressive for the price. They charged me $26 for an arugula salad with watermelon, feta, and added chicken, and the whole concoction was absolutely boring and unimpressive. I can go to the grocery store and buy a whole watermelon, a whole bin of arugula, a whole block of feta, and chicken breast and make 6 servings at home for that same price. I need food to blow my mind or use expensive ingredients if it's going to be so up-charged. I would totally go to Syndicate again for cocktails. This is where their creativity shines and I'll pay for an overpriced drink for the vibe and the taste delight. I would definitely avoid going to Syndicate for food. It's a waste of money and embarrassing to bring your friends out and have them spend that much money on such overpriced unimpressive food.

Yelp
I was bar hopping at ferndale and I came across the beautiful restaurant. Mitchell was my bartender and he did excellent! From the drink, to telling me about the restaurant, and even relating to me as a custome, it was very welcoming and informing. The bar back Gage was pleasant as well and they made my first visit special. I will be back :)

Yelp
Had dinner with girlfriends here on a Friday night. No reservations, walk in only but we did not wait. Hip and classy atmosphere. We ordered the calamari and it was excellent, it does have a kick with the peppers and the capers. The mushroom ravioli was good. Also split a burger with my friend, it was decent, nothing special but I do appreciate they have onion straws. Beware...drinks are pricey and come with a disclaimer on the menu that if you don't like it, you cannot return it.

Yelp
Took my love here tonight for Sweetest Day. First encounter, Laura, very nice, dealing the the cards she was given. We had a 25min wait where we were offered to go to the lounge area. Nice spot, cute artwork. Ordered drinks and Apps w/ Ryan. Very hospitable. Oysters Rockafella, incredibly fishy. I couldn't bare the smell enough to try. Husband says slimy and sandy like he picked it up off the beach. Sent them back. Got a table pretty quick, Madeline was our waitress (gorgeous girl, she knows her stuff). Drinks?? Superb!!!! We tried a few. I ordered the Short rib which came with a soup. The carrot/ginger or other was not my cup of tea. Even with salt and pepper, I'll pass. The short rib had gorgeous presentation, but it was very bland. Even the potatoes. My husband had a mushroom burger of sorts. He enjoyed it. Overall, drinks, They've got it down pat. The food, I could take or leave. Enjoy!

Yelp
Amazing ambiance, great drinks and food. The food is served with soup and salad. The waiters are very friendly and personable. The menu is a combination of a new American and homemade cooking.

Yelp
Syndicate had a lovely atmosphere, very unique and elegant. The service was great and we were greeted and taken care of very well. I feel as if the restaurant try's to hard to be unique with their dishes that it makes some of them very bad. For example I had the chicken piccata and it came with banana peppers on it. The banana peppers threw off the whole dish and overpowered it. The strong smell of the peppers also made it hard to eat and the sauce for the chicken piccata also tasted very buttery. The brussel sprouts were amazing we got the blue cheese ones and the ones with shaved lemon zest I would highly recommend both if you like brussel sprouts. One of the guys we were with got a burger that looked delicious and he said it was great. If I went back the burger is something I would definitely try. One of the ladies I was with got the ravioli and said it was alright just needed parmesan. I would say the food was either really good or really bad. Other than that if you are looking for a unique restaurant to try something new and out of the ordinary definitely stop in!

Yelp
This place has some of the best drinks I've had in my life. Along with great service and good food, it's a one of a kind and fabulous addition to the area.

Yelp
Went within the first few weeks of opening and had a great experience. Had a delicious dinner sitting out on the patio then played pool inside after!

Yelp
Was walking with a friend towards Valentine's and saw the outdoor lights of The Syndicate. So glad we meandered over! Staff was welcoming, bartender was great. We had drinks, Oysters Rockefeller, and a flat bread. The interior is beautiful. Loved the plates and gold toned silverware! The food was good and we walked out full and happy for under $100. I'm looking forward to a return visit!
