What a surprise and first time customer!! Having lived and travelled many places this restaurant is right up there. Don’t be fooled by the storefront which is misconspicuous…what you get for quality, presentation and price is amazing. The duck, elk and salads are incredible. If you’re in Jasper… don’t miss having a diner here. I took a couple pics of our meals.

Google
Shared a beautiful meal here celebrating my friends bachelor party. The service was excellent, and the wait staff was attentive. Would recommend for any special occasion or just treating yourself! The old fashioned was my fave drink on the menu and the amuse bouche was a lovely start to a delicious meal.

Google
Definitely make your reservations in advance. I had the Edge of the World cocktail - was smooth and easily finished two throughout the meal. The biscuits with homemade butter was tasty. It changes every day. We started with the Spicy Corn Dish. Many places do not mean spicy but this definitely had a kick. I ordered the Elk Wellington and my husband the Bison Ragout. Both were well seasoned and tender. We finished off with the White Chocolate Goat Cheesecake. Phenomenal way to finish and excellent meal.

Google
Drove in after a full day of hiking various places and wanted to try here cos of the high star ratings; it was our first time trying medium done pork which blew our minds cos in Asia you CANNOT take pork any other way than well done. It was amazing! and we also had to try the elk Wellington; it was a little like beef so it was good too. In top of thy we were also given 2 free appetisers which were awesome too.

Google
Awesome food and service. We ordered wild boar chops which was one of their featured dishes for the evening. Juicy and tender, very nice. The wild mushrooms and lentil loaf was a bit burnt at the bottom. That's why four stars for food. House salad tastes delicious with house made dressings. Our server told us everything in the restaurant is house made.

Google
I was skeptical at first with the mixed reviews, but I am so glad I ignored the bad ones because I had an amazing dinner here. The elk carpaccio is honestly one of the best dishes I've had ever, even more enjoyable than some Michelin star restaurant dish and I'm really not exaggerating. The caramelized onion tart was also amazing, really amazing pastry and tomatoes and herbs were a perfect match. The bison rib eye was a highlight. Very flavourful and perfectly cooked, normally I don't like my streaks with any sauces but this sour cherry glaze worked so well with it. Elk Wellington...I'm normally not a fan of the tenderloin cut but this was really perfectly done as well. Keep in mind there's a strong mustard used for the Wellington. I liked it but for those who don't like the mustard/horseradish kick, be warned it is a strong flavour. I think you get the point of you're still reading my essay. Just eat here...you won't regret it! Well done Syrahs! I'd give 6 stars if I could.

Google
Absolutely wonderful place that felt very cozy. The waitress was so attentive and kind. Her recommendations were on point and the freebie items of the bison tartar and the carrot and chive biscuit were delicious. The chef has made it so that most of the menu is gluten free, which I think is pretty cool. The bison striploin was scrumptious and to die for. They do have a plant based option on the lentil meatloaf which I thought was pretty well seasoned and very delicious. The desserts were out of this world! The goat cheese cheesecake with blackberries was so good that it tasted like an elevated version of an Oreo cheesecake. And the creme brule of the day was spoon-licking good. Overall, it is a place that you have to visit and have a dinner at least once! It's pretty romantic too, so bring your date!

Google
This is the best restaurant we have been at in Jasper, and we have eaten in the top 10 of them. Everything was delicious and special. The server was so nice, when she asked if we needed anything else, I made a joke that world peace would be nice, so she drew me that. The food was Michelin level. If you want a better life, try their cheese cake. The drinks were also delicious. We will come back in our next visit.

Yelp
This was the best meal we've had in a long time, anywhere. For starters, the service was great. They take food allergies and aversions very seriously, and they don't just remove the offending ingredient, they rebuild the dish so it's as delicious as the original. This is a sign of a great chef, the ability to riff on demand, and Syrahs did so with grace and without complaint or even an eye roll. We started with the elk carpaccio, which was tender and delicious, and we're not generally carpaccio eaters. We split the bison ribeye and the pork, both of which were perfectly done and served with particularly flavorful fresh vegetables. (Another sign of great chefs: they take their vegetables seriously.) For dessert, we split the cheese board and the blondie, both divine, and each had a Sortilege, a very Canadian after dinner combo of Canadian whiskey and maple syrup. Perfect with the desserts we ordered. I should mention that our pre-dinner cocktails - the old-fashioned and Negroni - were also beautifully executed. Our server, a native Jasperian (if that's the right term), was friendly and accommodating but also super chill. He had the perfect vibe for a place that takes its food and drinks seriously without taking itself too seriously - ie, no pretension or preciousness. All and all, a truly memorable evening.

Yelp
I had a bit of dissonance at this place, but that didn't impact my enjoyment. They're casual dining, but everything is portioned & plated as a higher end restaurant. Our waiter was incredibly friendly, and always used my first name, every time he stopped by the table. The other waiter was very local, and a bit of a character. We opted for app extravaganza instead of any of the mains. Meatballs (venison, bison, boar), wafer-thin marinated portobello mushrooms, and the charcuterie board with the cheese add-on, finished with the ice berries and goat-cheesecake. The meatballs were good not great, my wife liked them more than I did. They were 3 rather small meatballs, and two pieces of baguette (why not 3?). The mushrooms were very tasty, leaving me wanting more. The charcuterie was delicious; we requested additional crackers that they brought right over. The 3 meats were unique and appreciated. The cheese offered a good selection. We really enjoyed the pickled veggies. I would have liked a bit of fruit compote or honeycomb (as a pallet cleanser), neither of us like olives, but that's very much a personal preference (not a critique). My wife loved the ice berries, contrasted with a warm white chocolate cream sauce. I liked my goat-cheesecake, but had higher expectations (that it would be more distinctive, for $18/small-slice). Overall, I think we made good menu choices (for us). We enjoyed some dishes more than others, but that's to be expected. The entire staff was very friendly. I would recommend giving them a try if you're looking for something a little different.

Yelp
Worst $200 meal I've ever had. Just not good. I wanted to like this place so much. But the food is just not good. I had the bison ragout, which had maybe five bites of bison in it. The gnocchi was very strangely textured. Husband had ny steak which was average at best and very small, served with a ramekin of what appeared to be several days old mac n cheese which was dry and flavorless. We held out hope for dessert, the white chocolate goat cheese cheesecake. It was revolting. Texture was like a thin pudding pie, flavor was very bad. I love goat cheese and thought it would be delicious. Very disappointed. Two stars because the service was good and my glass of cab was tasty. I do not recommend.

David F.

Yelp
Excellent service. Wonderful and inventive cuisine. Really good experience. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
The presentation was nice and the food was tasty (but seemed overly salty for my taste). I enjoyed the unique selections they offered. While most of the food was flavorful, the salad didn't taste like it had the dressing on it. I asked for some extra and that helped a lot (I actually liked the house salad, with all the flavors from the various ingredients--but it was much better when I added the dressing). I ordered the "Mushroom Carpaccio" but that slipped through the cracks due to a misunderstand, until I asked about it after my entree was served. I was least impressed with the vanilla ice cream. It was ok, but not an amazing "vanilla bean" type I was expecting for "house made vanilla bean ice cream".

Yelp
My review is more 3.5. The food was good, but not outstanding. My husband and I shared the game meatballs, the gnocchi and the elk steak that was the special of the night. The meatballs were good, maybe too many onions in the sauce. The meat was very good, tender and tasty. The gnocchi was our least favorite plate. The amount of vegetable was big compared to the amount of gnocchi; the taste of the entire plate wasn't very good because we didn't like the veggie sauce and gnocchi. Maybe for Italian people like us is very complicated to find a good pasta plate when we're not in Italy. Overall the service was good. Our waiter was friendly and nice. We forgot to take pictures of the main dishes.

Yelp
We were very excited to try some local delicacies, like elk and bison. Made a reservation and were seated promptly. Nice atmosphere, casual but still classy. Started off with salmon amuse-bouche and flaky biscuits with sun-dried tomato butter and a bottle of Syrah wine. First course had the mushroom carpaccio and it was beautiful and tasted amazing! For mains we tried the bison ragu and the elk Wellington. Both dishes were delicious my only complaint was the Wellington was twice the price of the ragu, and the ragu was just as good if not even a little better. Last but not least I ordered the White chocolate goat cheesecake, my partner doesn't love goat cheese, so he got ice cream with maple whisky. Both were tasty but the cheesecake was outstanding! My partner tasted it and agreed it was essence of goat cheese and really liked it as well.

Yelp
Excelent food and the staff was super friendly. Make sure to get a reservation and you will be fine! Carpaccio was amazing and the little salmon starter was delicious. Too it off with a dessert there or opt for what we did and get an ice cream next door.

Yelp
We went to Syrahs a few days after Christmas. It's a small cozy restaurant with friendly service. To start, we had the wild game meatballs which were quite rich and tasty. My husband had the Sakura pork rib which was very good and I had the elk Wellington which was decadent and rich and cooked medium rare which I love. We also discovered a great BC Zinfandel that paired really well with our food. We left happy and full and would love to come back again. I think it's worthwhile making reservations in advance.

Yelp
We chose this restaurant based on Yelp's ratings and made a reservation one day in advance. The next day, we arrived at the restaurant right at its opening time. A waiter led us to a tiny table, hidden away in the corner. The first issue here: why would they seat their first customers in the worst spot when there were no other customers present? We asked to be moved to a regular table, we got one. The second problem arose when the waiter pushed us to order the full course without first asking if we were interested. We wanted a smaller dinner, but his pushiness made us lose our appetite. Consequently, we decided to leave and found a much better restaurant. If you're Asian, I wouldn't recommend this place.

Robert B.

Yelp
Our party of four enjoyed a special evening at Syrahs. The restaurant seemed to have about ten tables set in a simple modern decor. Reservations are a must. Our waiter- Jesse - was working several tables but was attentive and engaging with local knowledge and spot on recommendations. The "chef's dinner" (with local cheese selections) proved to be a very good appetizer for four. The tender and tasty Elk Wellington (without optional fois gras) is served medium rare. Smoked Bison ragout was outstanding. Alberta Bison tenderloin wrapped in prosciutto- very tender (as expected- on the salty side). Accompanied by a reasonably priced excellent California red and a local pilsner. Honestly - no room to try the desserts. Priced out at @$100 C per person before tip. We all left feeling well served and well fed with no regrets!

Yelp
Cannot recommend Syrahs highly enough -- easily the best of three dinners we had in Jasper. The Elk Wellington cannot be missed. We also had the NY Steak, Bison Ragou, and the Bison Filet all of which were great. Restaurant was wonderful and very flexible about accommodating our dietary restrictions. Thanks also to Paul for the great service.

Yelp
The food was incredibly salty, almost to the point of being inedible. The cocktail was really bad. The service was fine but overall it was such a disappointment. :(

Stacey H.

Yelp
Fabulous service, fantastic food! Enjoyed every mouthful of food that we had. Drinks were refreshing.

Yelp
We haven't had a great dining experience like this in a long long time. We were lucky to be able to snag a last minute reservation as we found this restaurant from our walk down the street in the morning while visiting Jasper for a couple of days. Our server was really on the ball and made sure we were looked after for the entirety of our meal. We started off with the smoked bison poutine and elk carpaccio, then stayed on theme and got the bison tenderloin that was on feature and the elk striploin. The meats were so tender, not too gamey (the sauces worked wonders) and perfectly cooked. Then we finished with the affogado and the white chocolate goat cheese cake. Just *chefs kiss* perfection.

Yelp
I enjoyed this place and had a hard time coming up with any cons. I had a pork chop and I have to say it was perfectly cooked! The meat was very juicy but also cooked to perfect temperature which you would know is a tricky task if you cook. We also enjoyed some great cocktails while we had dinner. I will have to say you can see and taste the effort the chef puts into his food. Great job guys! I would highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Jasper looking for a great dinner.

Germaine H.

Yelp
Excellent food, excellent service from Andrew and a great recommendation for our wine selection. I would highly recommend.

Kevin M.

Yelp
Service was top top top notch but we had to send my wife's steak back 3 times to cook it properly. The cuts of meet were ok. Service was unbelievable but can't say the same for our meal. Ended up going to another restaurant afterwards.

Jeff C.

Yelp
Wonderful restaurant in the hub of Jasper. Excellent food and great service! We had the Bison rib-eye and Salmon. Each were cooked perfectly with well seasoned accompaniments. A great evening. Highly recommended!

Yelp
It was 5 meals course for the new year's eve dinner. Exceptional. Great service , no delays

Mallory M.

Yelp
Very delicious and great service! We went to celebrate our honeymoon and everything from the drinks to the food was amazing and made for a great dinner.

Yelp
booked Syrahs as it has a good GF menu and was really pleased I did. the food is excellent and this was one of the best meals I've had in a long while. we shared the elk carpaccio starter - beautiful. the mains were duck and elk wellington absolutely delicious - loved the Saskatoon berry sauce with the wellington. the only thing o didn't like was the amuse-bouche just wasn't to my tast. the service was great and the restaurant was lovely / really pleased we went there.

Adrian C.

Yelp
Ordered the elk wellington and the bissson ribeye (medium rare). Prepared well with complimentary sparkling and biscuits. Must try if you stumble upon this scenic town Jasper!

Yelp
This was my absolute favourite restaurant in Alberta when I visited. The food is amazing and the variety of meats my family had was such a great experience, just take a look at their menu. There was not one dish that was not delicious. Their salmon is the best salmon I've ever had in my life. The mushroom carpaccio was so unique, I loved it and the fact that I was able to eat carpaccio that was not fish was amazing since I am pescatarian. Their homemade Vanilla ice cream was the best I've ever had. I highly recommend trying their ice cream for dessert, I wasn't in love with the goat cheesecake the way I was with their ice cream. Their drinks were also really good and quite strong, they don't chance on their alcohol.

Yelp
My spouse and I went to Syrahs of Jasper on Saturday, Feb 8th around 6:30pm. We were seated in font of the bay window which got a bit cold during our dinner. But that wasn't going to stop us from enjoying our dinner. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered our drinks and they came out quickly. She then brought out the amuse bouche for the evening which was a red pepper lentil hummus. Incredibly delicious, light and refreshing! We ordered the Butternut Squash fritters to start, the Alberta Beef Striploin and the Bison Steak for our entrees. Next item to our table was the daily biscuit (I don't recall the flavor) served with a green peppercorn butter. Both were very good. The fritters came out relatively quickly and looked delicious. However....The description on the menu for the fritters is "Crispy pan-fried cakes...." and they were not crispy at all. A bit mushy to eat. The flavor of the fritter itself was good. The balsamic bacon jam had too much balsamic in it. I love balsamic vinegar, but this over powered the flavor of everything else on the plate. We would not order that dish again because of this. Our entrees came out hot and looked amazing! The beef striploin was cooked perfectly, seasoned very well and was delicious! The boar bacon mac and cheese that came as a side was good as well. More on the dry side than a cheesy, gooey mac and cheese. The bison striploin was seasoned well, cooked to perfection (the middle part) and tasted great for the most part. I had one end piece that was very chewy and a bit difficult to get down, but the rest of the steak was perfect. I'm not going to let a couple of bites ruin this meal. After our entrees came a palate cleanser of crushed ice flavored with Apple and Honey Jack. We finished our meal with the recommended white chocolate goat cheese cheesecake. It was very rich, very good and more on the savory side than the sweet side due to the goat cheese. We did enjoy it as it's something different that you don't see on a menu very often. If/when we go back, we would try something different though. Overall, we really enjoyed our dinner and highly recommend this restaurant if you're heading to Jasper.

Yelp
Very nice cuisine with lots of options for those with dietary restrictions or preferences. My husband had the Smoked Bison Brisket, which he said was divine, and I had their vegetable entree. Also delicious. They are very cognizant if dietary issues and go out of their way to accommodate diners who fit into a dietary limited category. Waiter was wonderful; polite, eager to provide top notch service and very helpful in terms of explaining what goes into each dish. We were both impressed and will definitely be back should we make our way back to Jasper in the future. Nice cocktails, too!!

Yelp
We enjoyed an amazing meal here last night. The restaurant is small and currently only has nine tables so reservations are definitely recommended (you won't be disappointed). We started off with a pre-dinner drink. I enjoyed the Quiet One cocktail and my husband tried the Hive Bomber Honey Wheat Ale (it must if been good because he bought some next door afterwards to take back to the hotel). Fora appetizer we shared the Evening Special which was a Caesar salad with Boars Bacon, it was delicious. For an Entree I had the Scallops and Linguine which was on the Evening Special and my husband had the Alberta Bison Ribeye. We finished our meal sharing the Double Chocolate Blondie with a coffee (mine was a B52). After dinner a walk back to the hotel completed a perfect evening.

Charles R.

Yelp
My wife and I had a fantastic dinner. The food was amazing and the service was excellent. I would highly recommend this gem of a restaurant to anybody looking for a nice evening out.

Em L.

Yelp
Had a great dinner here on our first night in Jasper. Andrew made a great recommendation for my husband to try the special of the night which was Yak. My husband said it was one of the best meals he's ever had. Yak was super tender and moist. My salmon dish was equally great. Highly recommend this place. A bit pricey but we'll worth it.
google avatar

Keith L.

Yelp
Solid meal, good service, menu felt pre-programmed, a little pricey, Bison served was not a great cut and yes I eat a lot of bison and other wild game. Elk was great. Not my best meal in Jasper but the most expensive.
google avatar

Vanessa H.

Yelp
The food and service here was wonderful. The server answered all of our questions and odd requests with no problems (I can only eat very small portion sizes so he helped me navigate what to choose without prying into why I was asking such obscure questions) there were only a few other tables in the restaurant when we were there so everything came out quickly and overall we were very impressed with our food!

Yelp
So delicious! Came here after doing some research about different restaurants in the area and we were so happy with our choice! Our server was Melanie and she was absolutely great. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
One of the best dinners we experienced during our Canadian Rockies trip through Lake Louis, Banff, and Jasper. Service is superb. Food is delicious. Ambiance is pleasant. Hope we can make a return one day!

Yelp
We stayed in Jasper for just one night and picked Syrah's for dinner. Its a fairly small restaurant with a sizable bar and drink menu. Their menu has some creative dishes of mostly Canadian game meat with a few seafood items. Service was friendly and I'd give 3.5 stars for food so round up to 4 overall. The bison sausage and pretzel was a nice appetizer. The pretzel itself was crispy, while the sausage had a unique flavor that's lean yet flavorful. Nice use of pickled onions and a ketchup-like sauce. (5 stars) My wife order Alaskan Halibut over potatoes and a red-wine sauce. I found the fish cooked well and seasoned, though she felt it was on the plainer side and a bit ordinary. (3 stars) My entree was the Elk Loin, medium rare over some veggies and shoestring potatoes. It definitely tasted closer to a good beef, and was juicy for being such a lean, muscular cut. It tasted beat when eaten with the sauce and veggies together. (4 stars) Dessert was the cappuccino brûlée - it was premade and served cold but was very good. It had that caramelized top and all the espresso and creaminess underneath. (4 stars) The wait staff was pretty friendly. One of the workers was real young but showed some real hustle. He looked like the actor who played Bruce Wayne on Gotham. He told me he was 14 years old and that in Alberta, you can begin working at age 12 provided you don't work past 9pm. For that you have to be over age 15! Yikes, I wonder where the term, Lazy American comes from!

Yelp
Fabulous careful food. The chef owner has spent all of his energy into his food. The place has a simple decor but is well served by caring staff. Ask for Bob he is your man.
google avatar

Yelp
Came with a reservation since Covid times are tricky for a 'large' group of four people... Very attentive service in a very relaxing ambient. Complimentary appies were served together with A-Mazing Caesars we ordered (the taste of the bacon in the drink will remain for a long time in my memory). All the food was good, although I would not say it justifies the price... the good news is that, without being aware of it, they had a 30% off promotion for Sundays, that we took well advantage of. After that, price was very good, but regular priced, I would say it is pricey (but fairly good prices for Jasper).

Yelp
Yum! Eat here!! It is that simple. :) My husband and I took my mom to the Canadian Rockies for her birthday and, while in Jasper, we ate at Syrahs. The level of the ingredients and cooking was superior. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner from start to finish. Syrahs offers a three-course menu for $45CAD. Each member of the party must order three courses. There are many options for each course; some involve an added charge. The quality of the meal made all of this absolutely worth it...a bargain, in fact. In addition to the three courses, the kitchen sent out an amuse bouche. It was fresh and bright. They also served homemade blue cheese biscuits with honey mustard butter. I don't usually like blue cheese, but the flavor was mild and the biscuits were crispy outside and flaky inside...absolutely perfect! Honey mustard butter may sound odd, but gosh it was good! I ordered the elk carpaccio to start, because where else will I be able to try that? It melted in my mouth, it was so tender. My husband ordered the salad and my mother ordered the caramelized onion tart. Each dish was perfect with so many small touches, like the fact that the cherry tomatoes were roasted in garlic (not strong, but a nice layer of flavor). For entrees, my mother and I both ordered the risotto with sun-dried tomatoes and asparagus and my husband ordered the mushroom loaf. Again, lovely flavors and beautifully presented. For dessert, two of us had the fudgey lemon bar and one had the cheesecake. Mmmmmmmm. The portions were all good sized, so go to Syrahs hungry. The wine list is extensive and well-selected. We tossed the dice and tried a BC pinot noir; it was quite good. Jasper is a very casual town. Syrahs is an elegant restaurant where you can enjoy a fine meal, but stay in your casual mountain clothes and not have to pay the arm and a leg you would pay for this quality in a larger city. I highly recommend Syrahs if you like fine dining.

Yelp
I would say this place is overrated on Yelp. For Jasper, it's pretty good, but compared to places "in the city", Syrahs is really just okay. First off, they'll get you in the door with the enticing 3 court menu for $29. You must buy a drink on top of that. I ordered a blackberry mojito (virgin), and it was truly a glass of ice with a side of mojito. See pictures. For the starter, both my SO and I ordered the caesar salad with bison prosciutto. The dressing on the salad was so salty it burned my lips. The bison "prosciutto" should not be called so as it's really sliced too thick, but it was tasty for sure. For my main, I opted for the bison ragout, which was okay. My SO tasted the sauce and he really liked it. For me, the bison having been brined, smoked, and braised was not evident in the taste or texture. My SO had the BC tuna and was very happy with it. The tuna was an extra $7. Then comes the dessert. The server didn't clarify that some dessert options had extra prices, but it did say on the menu, so my fault for not noticing. So ordered the brownie, no extra cost. I ordered the goat cheesecake and was charged $6 extra. But get this, both of these items on their normal menu posted outside are $11 each. So why on earth was I charged an extra $6. Cash grab. The cheesecake was nice a creamy, but not amazing by any means. Honestly, for me, I think the dishes lacked that special oomph when it comes to flavour. I also don't appreciate being charged extra for one dessert and not the other when they are both the same regular price. At the end of the day, Jasper is not known for their restaurant scene, so this may be one of your best options. The service here was great.

Yelp
We were here March 14th with our son. It was our first time and it was a lovely dinner. From the waiter to the food. It was a perfect evening. I will definitely go back when the world is back to normal.
google avatar

Stephanie L.

Yelp
They post 3 courses of $29 outside the restaurant, but almost every item has additional charge even desert menu. It would be really hard to get the price of $29 if you really want to order something you like to eat. We ordered wild caught salmon with $10 addition charge but the potion is really small. Can't complain as everything is expensive in Jasper. The service is friendly but slow.

N L.

Yelp
Went to Syrahs to celebrate a birthday and the place didn't disappoint - the bison ribeye was cooked to perfection and the bison ragout was excellent as the meat chunks were tender and flavorful. Don't skip the goat cheese cheesecake dessert - it is well worth the extra calories!

Yelp
We went to Syrahs for a special family birthday dinner tonight and it was very nice. Manager Jesse Lent and all the staff obviously are passionate about what they do. Striploin steak was delivered exactly as ordered and the West coast salmon & scallops was nice with a little heat, but a little sweet. Loved the cauliflower spread appetizer, all the breads with appetizers were so fresh. Service was also very good, thank you! We are visitors to Jasper; I hope a gem like Syrahs is consistently supported locally too!

Mathew R.

Yelp
Great Place -wild game, caribou and Elk was great. Wine list good, not extensive. Waiter was great. Desserts excellent my kids under 12 loved the frozen berries and cream.

Blah B.

Yelp
Syrahs of Jasper has well executed food. It is not very creative food but everything was tasty. 3 stars because lack of creativity and ambiance.

Billy B.

Yelp
Very disappointing for the price. The decor of the restaurant is very old and dated. There are a few nice paintings but the tables and chairs are old and make the restaurant feel cheap, which it definitely is not. Our waitress was completely out of it during our service and had issues answering very basic questions. She was extremely awkward during service. The portions are small and overpriced. We had a charcuterie platter which priced at $24 came with two very small soft pretzels a d two small portions of toasted bread. There was not enough bread to enjoy the rest of the board. We also tried the bone in boar chop that somehow came missing the bone. The portion was small and tough. The duck fat fries that accompanied this tasted like normal fries that can be made better at home. Steak was good but no better than the Keg at half the size. For a $160 meal we were expecting much better. A similar priced meal at any other restaurant is normally much more enjoyable. Would not recommend.

Yelp
Great meal! Great service. 100% recommended. Had the Bison rib eye. Mmmm. Also tried the elk wellington, amazing.

Yelp
Everything was perfect, they were so helpful and managed to make it work to fit our larger party in last minute. Between the helpfulness and delicious food I will absolutely visit again!

Yelp
The food at Syrahs was incredible. We wandered in by chance off the street and luckily they had room for us. Even though Jasper crowds are currently much smaller than non pandemic years (which is awesome btw), the restaurant was still full to (newly restricted) capacity. The servers wear masks and the menus are accessible online. The tables are appropriately distanced. Wine was fabulous. We started with onion blue cheese tarts (highly recommend) and elk carpaccio. For mains I had vegetable curry (I was blown away, the rice was risotto style and the flavoring was perfect). My husband had the bison steak and he's still talking about it 2 days later. Possibly the best part of the whole meal was the dessert for 2 which came with delicious blondies, goat cheese cheesecake, ice cream and whipped cream with drizzles and berries galore. It also included a whisky and an espresso/baileys drink. You can make reservations online and through the yelp app, which I would recommend as they seem quite popular. We will definitely go back.

Yelp
Okay meal, service pretty good but food fairly unremarkable. We arrived at 7 PM to a fairly full restaurant; reservations seemed fairly useful here. It's a prix fixe menu with over half of the dishes requiring additional fees. Between my friend and I, we had the game meatballs and the elk carpaccio as starters; the former was particularly flavorful. We had the boar rack chop and the bison ragout with gnocchi for our entrees; the latter was a bit on the smaller side, somewhat lacking in meat and with poorly made gnocchi, while the boar rack chop was a bit tastier.

Yelp
Great attentive service. Felt safe and protected in Covid times. We were lucky to get a table, as booking online was full for both nights but calling in directly we snagged a table. The two beer on the menu we ordered weren't available so we accepted the two replacement options. That was alright with us. Crab cake bite with house-made pepper ketchup = 4/5 Portobello chive biscuit with olive butter = 5/5 really tasty Elk carpaccio = 1/5 very dry slices of meat, too much wilted & browning basil in very big pieces, no salt to brighten the meat Fig & port jam on chicken thigh with boar & blue cheese risotto = 4.5/5 great flavor, thoughtful pairing Smoked bison ragout = 2/5 tough meat but decent flavour, no smoke dimension, too much celery and hard carrots, tender and well-cooked gnocchi with simple and tasty tomato sauce.
