"A suburban distribution warehouse for North America’s largest food distributor, employing about 125 unionized warehouse workers, reached a tentative agreement late Thursday to end a four-day strike that had disrupted deliveries to Chicago-area restaurants. Workers, who had been without a contract since February 2020 and began bargaining in January, were set to return on Friday after the tentative deal; roughly 200 truck drivers also walked off in solidarity, worsening cancellations and delays and forcing restaurants to scramble for alternative suppliers. Company representatives prioritized deliveries to hospitals and schools during the stoppage.
