Szara

"In the city's Grand Square, you’ll find this family-run, brasserie-style restaurant which boasts a hand-painted Gothic ceiling and a lovely terrace. The charming, vaulted dining room plays host to traditional cooking that draws on classic dishes from Polish, French and Swedish cuisine – accompanied by a largely French wine list. The well-executed, hearty dishes are brought to the table by an efficient service team." - Michelin Inspector

We had family event organized at the restaurant. Everything went very well. Food was delicious. Excellent selection of wines. Staff creates very good atmosphere. All in all great place.

Perhaps it was that I was in Old Town Krakow, but the service was old-school lovely, attentive, and warm. I chose the escargot and rabbit, which was prepared by a chef with a love of garlic. Both were great. If you're looking for a combi action of calm and excellent food in one if the best locations in Old Town, Szara is an excellent choice. I intend to return.

What a treat. A respite from the madding crowd. Had small bottle Chianti. Delightful. Comfortable seating and lovely ambiance. Incredible 14th century ceiling. Waiting staff very nice. Snails and bouillabase soup tastest like perfect French cooking. The crème brûlée v tasty. A real find in a busy tourist area.

Hamburger tasted a bit off and texture was more solid than ground. Fish soup a bit strategy too. Duck was tasty. Fries ok. Beautiful view of square in Cracow.

The leek quiche was the best quiche I've ever had. The menu was a rather unusual collection of Polish, French, and Swedish dishes. There's a story there somewhere. Large selection of french wines. The service was absolutely outstanding.

It was my first time in Krakow and we did not know where to eat. We found ourselves standing in front of this restaurant and thought to give it a try. We also saw the Michelin star. We sat outside in the heated tent. The waiter was so friendly and attentive. He rexommenddd some dishes and wine. He even explained how we should eat the fish soup. The food was amazing, the wine and the service as well! We can only recommend coming here

Two out of the six dishes we ordered were really good, too bad for the stark contrast between them and to the remaining items from the menu we had - they were either practically bland (not talking about a mild taste, but literally no flavour), too sweet for a starter (practically got served a big portion of dessert), or just 'okay' on their own right, but definitely too steeply priced. The bread we got served for the complimentary butter was also stale. The service was also very underwhelming and aimed for the absolute minimum, but maybe the waitress just had a bad day. Overall, we would had left disappointed even if the restaurant operated at a lower price range, to be honest we're flabbergasted as to how this place managed to be included in the Michelin Guide multiple times, based off on our one time visit at least.
