Google
Fantastic food! This place has a large menu with lots of great options. The food came out fast and was really fresh. The crab Rangoon had a lot of filling. The two entrees were both delicious, and were more than enough for dinner and leftovers. Good portion sizes and great food!

Google
Nice little quiet spot. My mother and I had the pork belly and cabbage stir fry, scallion pancakes, and fried dumplings. Atmosphere - 9 Food - 10 Service - 10 Vibes - 10 Will be coming back. Genuine Szechaun cuisine.

Google
We have had it before but never ate in until today. The place was clean, tge food was good and fast. Service was also good. We will definitely stop back.

Google
Fairly cheap Chinese food, very good crab rangoon but the dumplings were a bit too moist. The staff was very kind and you get a lot for what you pay for. However, the bathroom was pretty dirty. Overall an okay experience, coming back for sure to try some new dishes because the food was still pretty good.

Try the Mapu Tofu, it will light you up, but if you're like me, you'll like it! I started with the Hot & Sour soup to temper my taste buds, its also very good 👍 👌 😋

Google
I gave eaten here multiple times and not once has anything come close to NOT being the best food I have ever eaten. With each visit, I try something new off of their extensive menu - and it is a true treat and pleasure; even if I am not sure what I am ordering. The prices are fantastic and the portions are very generous for a family style meal. The store next door is fantastic as well.

Service was prompt and polite. My water glass never got empty. Food was great and affordable. Ten dollar lunch special menu.

Having dinner at the Szechuan Gourmet is an amazing gastronomic experience. We arrived late in the evening's service. We were seated immediately and were offered liquid refreshment. We asked for a pot of tea. The menu was not like the typical American Chinese restaurants. They had pictures of most of their dishes. My wife had shrimp and broccoli. This sounds like a typical Chinese restaurant dish, but it tasted way better than we expected. I had eggplant in black bean sauce. Again, it sounds typical, but the taste was amazing. The portion was large, and I didn't think I would be able to finish it, but once I tasted it, I didn't want to stop eating. My wife also had pumpkin and sweet potato patties. They were delicious. There's an ample free parking lot out front, and the restaurant is wheelchair accessible. Service was friendly and efficient. If you're in Cleveland and you want Chinese food, you should definitely try the Szechuan Gourmet Restaurant.

Yelp
Szechuan Gourmet was fantastic! They had an extensive menu and I really enjoyed the entrees we ordered: the leek and bean curd as well as the spicy fish fillet. The fish was crispy and they definitely brought the heat! The wonton soup appetizer and the scallion pancakes were also decent. I appreciated the entrees all came with rice, and thought everything was really well-priced! The service was quick and the ambiance was pretty no-frills. There was free parking in the lot, too.

Yelp
Very very tasty. It required us to uber from the city to that side of town. It was well worth the uber. Next time we are in town, salt pepper fish.
google avatar

Yelp
The tofu with seafood and vegetable entree. $18, was not flavorful but had an excellent volume of seafood and mixed vegetables in a sort of gelatinous thin sauce. It had no spices. Good plain protein meal. The fried lamb w/cumin, $18, was very very spicy. See before and after pics.

Yelp
We had a really great experience here! The service was good, and all of the food was delicious as well. We have plenty of leftovers to take home!

Yelp
#1 authentic Szechuan food you can get in Cleveland/NE Ohio area, and probably the best overall authentic Chinese restaurant in Cleveland area! My go-tos are: 212 Dried Sauteed String Bean干煸四季豆 - a bity salty but mix it with your rice the flavor hits every time! 192 Salt & Pepper Crispy Tofu椒鹽豆腐 181 Fish Filet w.Pine Nut in sweet and sour sauce糖醋松子魚 - sweet and tangy yet savory sauce on deep fried fish with pine nuts (SO delicious! and no fishy taste!) 219 Water Spinach空心菜 - recommend with garlic option Also tried a stewed beef option this time and it was pretty tender! Overall, if your spice tolerance isn't high, I still think many of their dishes are tolerable for those who don't frequently eat spice and you can ask the staff to tone down the spice for some dishes. Service was efficient and friendly, often filling up our waters. Booth and roundtable seating with lazy susan available for small and large parties - takeout here is popular too! I often stop by Tink holl (next door) for groceries - recommend going their for affordable and fresh asian vegetables. Parking lot available.

Yelp
Wow! Went with my family this past weekend and when I say everything we ordered was delicious I am not exaggerating! We tried the spicy wontons which had a thin wrapper and a perfect spice. The general tsos chicken didn't look like much but it was crunchy and perfectly sweet and spicy. The beef ho fun had plenty of beef. The dried green beans were the star of the show though. Super casual and low key. No pushy service either. Will be returning!
google avatar

Nina K.

Yelp
Food is very good and authentic Chinese! Ambiance isn't the best, but that pretty much makes it more authentic. Pig intestines, mapo tofu, beef hu fun, turnip cakes were amazing! Service is good. Will be back.

Yelp
Horrible service, the serving lady was extremely hostile for no reason. The food was so so!
google avatar

Camille B.

Yelp
I love this place. I usually get the pepper chicken and the green beans. But today I decided to try something new. I got the pepper fried rice with shrimp and an order of spring rolls. The fried rice has one pepper next to it so I asked how spicy it was and she told me it was spicy. I asked her could it be made a little less spicy and she said yes so I ordered. When I got home and ate it for one pepper and for supposedly taking some spice away, it was ridiculously hot and I am not a punk to spice. I don't think they changed anything at all . It does have good flavor. But I don't know how much of it I can eat. I gave it four stars because I still love this place so next time I'll just get my usual.

Yelp
I'll be honest, I had high hopes for this place given the reviews. But I doubt I'll be going back after this. I ordered the General Tsao's Chicken with white rice and a pork egg roll. The pieces of chicken were too enormous to cut with chopsticks. What made them more difficult to cut and chew was that they were overcooked (over-fried). All the pieces were difficult to bite into. They even tasted burnt. The eggroll was tasteless. I was looking forward to a good, old-fashioned, thick eggroll filled with cabbage and pork. Nope. It was bland, tasteless, and not all that thick. I'm really bummed to be giving this restaurant such a low score. I just moved to Cleveland a month ago and was hoping to find my "Chinese food" spot.
google avatar

Nancy H.

Yelp
The food was very good. The service was absolutely terrible. The young girl that greeted you at the door had no interest in serving your food. She never came to our table not one time. I told her the service was awful and she laughed in my face.. We were new customers and I will never be back.

Yelp
The real deal for authentic Szechuan food in Cleveland. The decor is modest, but the restaurant is clean and it's more than made up for by the friendly, attentive staff, huge menu, and excellent food. While they specialize in spicy, Szechuan cuisine, they have many non-spicy dishes, available as well, making it a great option for families. Lots of pictures are posted on the walls and on the menu to help you decide what to order. Prices are reasonable as well and they have their own parking lot, which is a pleasant addition.
google avatar

Finn P.

Yelp
This spot is a bit of a hidden gem when it comes to food! While the service was just alright and the ambiance could use some improvement, the dishes more than made up for it. The food was surprisingly delicious, especially for such an unassuming place. I highly recommend trying the mayo tofu dry pot or the dry chili chicken--both were flavorful and cooked to perfection. If you're looking for amazing food and can overlook the setting, it's definitely worth a visit!

Yelp
So good. The food is shareable style, you're ordering for the table. Service was normal, everyone came to check on us. The only thing I would say is get a water, they service canned soda drinks. Definitely recommend

Yelp
I have yet to dine in at this restaurant, but every time I order takeout from here it's always a great experience. The order is always correct, fresh, and tasty. Today I ordered pickup from here again and the woman at the front counter was such a delight and so helpful. Thank you!!
google avatar

Cynthia K.

Yelp
This is only a review of their food, not the restaurant itself, as I've only ordered takeout. Their food feels like typical Chinese takeout, in the best way possible. I can always find the food I want that feels comforting and great at the end of a long, exhausting week. My go-to orders include wontons with spicy sauce, braised ribs, one of the many chicken dishes, mapo tofu, and MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE - eggplants with brown sauce. The best thing about this restaurant is consistency. I've probably ordered from here ~10 times in the year I've lived here and every time the delivery comes warm and everything is tasty. I'm a fan!

Ailin J.

Yelp
Love this place, best Szechuan for cleveland area. People should try other places in the west coast fyi if they're still uncertain about this cuisine. This restaurant is the best here but definitely can be improved upon. The fried chicken is good but can be kind of hard and the pieces are so small it's gets blended with the chilies too easily.
google avatar

Randi M.

Yelp
My review is based on my personal tastes of not being able to handle anything spicy. Our friend brought us here because its her favorite Chinese restaurant. She did order some dishes to be "not spicy" and I really did enjoy the kung pao tofu. It was so crispy and delicious. The lotus root was a new dish for me and I liked that as well. My wife ordered tangerine chicken, she enjoyed it, but our friend said it didn't have the tangerine sauce. It was another sauce. I ordered shrimp lo mein and those shrimp were TINY. I was expecting larger shrimp. This dish was a bit greasy, as was the scallion pancake. The won ton soup had zero flavor. I had to add some soy and hot mustard. The won ton was good.

Yelp
Phenomenal. Amazing. All the good things. We are to the point of beyond full because the food was simply too delicious. A local recommended this place to us and boy were we glad. The Szechuan flavoring on the dishes were fantastic. We got the dried pot with beef, mapo tofu with pork, fried chicken, szechuan chicken, garlic bok choy, and pan fried dumplings. The service was fast for early dinner on a weekend. Decent crowd but we were still seated immediately. We were a little disappointed by the hot green tea, but the food well overcompensated for it.

Jayne M.

Yelp
We showed up tonight at 8:30 (5/30) as we normally do for dinner on Fridays and were told that they already cleaned the tables so they are carryout only. We were quite disappointed as we are regulars and they typically close at 9:30. We had never seen the woman working the front desk so I am bringing this to the attention of management so that they can address.

Yelp
I love this restaurant. It is probably my favorite in Asiatown. It might be my favorite restaurant period. I say that now because I just ate there. But it is really good. Three of us split spicy crispy intestine, cold beef tendon and tripe, tangerine beef and spicy chicken with peanuts. It was all just wonderful. The tripe had a citrusy spicy vinaigrette type dressing. Nice and spicy and a bit numbing. The candied citrus peels in the beef gave it a beautiful floral aroma. Spicy chicken was probably the hottest dish. That being said nothing was off the charts. The chicken and intestines were covered in roasted dried chili pieces. So you could adjust your heat by how many you ate. I ate a lot and left a ton behind also. I don't get to this place often enough. I need to change that.

Brianna S.

Yelp
I was very disappointed by my experience tonight. I got the sesame chicken, egg roll and scallion pancake. The sesame chicken pieces were large but they were literally all breading, no chicken inside, really hard overly fried breading. I kept trying more pieces to find chicken inside and there were literally none. The scallion pancake was ok, very little scallions and really oily. The egg roll was the best part. Maybe I ordered the wrong main dish but I don't know if I would go back to try anything else after this.

Yelp
best mapo tofu in town no diggity doubt greens beans $$ but worth it...seriously. -

Yelp
TLDR; If you asked me what is the first place you should eat at in Cleveland, without hesitation I'd tell you to go to Szechuan Gourmet. For the last 1.5 years, I ordered from Schezuan Gourmet once a month (at least). When exams roll around, I kid you not, I order an entire week's worth of lunch and dinners for $60 from Schezuan Gourmet. I keep the menu in the top drawer of my desk. This is my go-to takeout place, and I cannot stop recommending it to everyone I meet. If we've spoken, I've most likely found more than one way to bring this place into the conversation. And no, I've never eaten a sit down meal at their establishment: I discovered Schezuan Gourmet during the peak of the 2020 pandemic, and they have the best take out in the city. Yes, their menu is massive. So, I'll let you in my secret: my delicious takeout order. I always snag: #207 sour and spicy potatoes. If you've never had it, it's shredded potatoes that are soaked then fried and paired with vinegar, spices, ginger, and pepper. Mouth watering yet? #192 Salt and Pepper Crispy Tofu. This is extra firm tofu with an extremely crispy exterior and fluffy interior. I love to scoop up the crispy pieces of garlic, chilies and peppers and sprinkle them over my rice (or directly into my mouth, don't judge). The serving is ginormous, and this tofu does! not! quit! Count on it to last in the fridge - pop it into a toaster and viola - crispy goodness once more. Other honorable mentions: #215 Lotus Root & Peanut with Dried Pepper. Crunchy, flavorful, savory peanuts. Recently tried it, and it has become part of my rotation. #212 Dried Sautéed String Beans. I can't say I've ever seen a bean sprout in my order, but this is salty, crisp, garlicky goodness. #219 Sautéed Water Spinach with Garlic. This one is for all my broth lovers out there. All the folks that love to spoon a nice sauce over their rice, and then enjoy a part crunchy part super soft vegetable. You know who you are. #246 Hot & Sour Soup. If I'm ordering this, it is always a large, and because I want something so hot I'll tear up and use up a box of tissues in the process. To me, that's the best thing hot & sour soup can do you for you. #152 Shrimp in Spicy Garlic Sauce. Not that many shrimp, but a thick flavorful sauce. Was pleasantly surprised by how good this was. My order is usually ready in 30 minutes or less, which is perfect because that's how far I am. There's a huge parking which is very convenient. Everyone is always very kind.

Charles L.

Yelp
This is a fantastic restaurant with excellent food and service. Our server was very knowledgeable about the food as well as the amenities of the restaurant. This is my new go to Asian food stop.

Linda C.

Yelp
We were disappointed with the quality of the food and service at our lunch today. They didn't offer unsweetened iced tea. Only sweetened ice tea in a can. Kids requested lemonade or cranberry juice, both of which aren't offered. The wonton soup was in a dark flavorless broth. Vegetable Ho Fun wasn't fried, but came in a sauce with the smallest slivers of vegetables I've ever had. We asked for forks for three of us, but only received one fork with the food. Eventually, the other two forks were served. A bowl of white rice came half way through the meal. Other tables had a teapot and cups, but we didn't. I won't be back.
google avatar

Chuck L.

Yelp
Got there early. Two tables already served. No one to greet us. Sat 20 minutes. Several more tables seated. No water no hello no chopsticks. Left and went to Siam Cafe. Superb service Great food Skip this place.
google avatar

Michael Z.

Yelp
This place is situated in the heart of the Asian district in Cleveland. The food here is very tasty, and authentic. The service was a bit slow, and I had to ask for some things a few times before getting them. The carbonated beverages come out of a can, so I stuck with water. Inside is very basic decor, but roomy and clean. I would have given a 4th star if the service was a little better. I would return, because I would like to try a few other items that I saw on the menu. It's worth a try if you haven't eaten here before.

Fenil P.

Yelp
The food was excellent for a spot that's not well known. The service was alright and so was the ambiance. Order the three style pepper chicken if you can, it's extremely spicy thought.

Audrey A.

Yelp
If you're reading this and want Chinese food...go here! Food is literally a 10/10. We got egg rolls, crab rangoon, and chicken fried rice and my husband and I agree that it's the best we've ever had!
google avatar

Rachel B.

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised by this place. From the outside I thought it was just a to go place, but you can go in and sit and have a nice meal. I got the salted chicken and Chinese green beans and it was a lot of food & tasted really good! The only thing that lacked flavor was the fried rice, it really was tasteless. I took my leftovers home and my kids went nuts on it and want to go next time we go out to dinner as a family!
google avatar

Mindy C.

Yelp
Must try when in Cleveland. Hands down the best Chinese food we have ever had. Favorites: Scallion pancakes Cucumber in chili sauce Shredded pork with bamboo shoots Hot pepper chicken with peanuts Chicken with scallion and pepper
google avatar

Amanda E.

Yelp
We had General Tao's chicken and Chicken with Bamboo shoots. Super yummy on both plates. We were both happy. Dining in was good. Seating was available and consistent traffic coming in for take out orders. Only downside was the walk to the bathroom was a shared hallway that didn't smell good.
google avatar

Kathy D.

Yelp
Came here on a date for NYE and ordered a ton of dishes for just 2 people. Portions were ample, prices were reasonable, presentation was great and taste was authentic and amazing. It was kind of dark, dimly lit and had an overall glum atmosphere, but it almost didn't matter because the food was so good. Our server was chipper and friendly. There was even a small parking lot. I will definitely be back.
google avatar

Meiya L.

Yelp
If you're looking for a place that offers options for those who want truly authentic Chinese food (chicken feet, duck intestine, etc.) AND American-style Chinese food (General Tso's, Sesame, or Orange Chicken) for those who are a little less adventurous, Sichuan Gourmet delivers on all fronts! Both authentic and American Chinese dishes taste great! It's one of my parents' favorite Chinese restaurants whenever they visit. The service is quick and friendly, although you may have to ask for water refills at some point. The place is clean with nice background music that's not too loud or invasive.
google avatar

Annie M.

Yelp
I have been having great experience after great experience after great experience in Cleveland lately and Szechuan Gourmet did not disappoint. After a Yelp search in Asiatown, hubby and I decided to give it a try and am real happy we did. Although the restaurant doesn't look like much on the inside, the food is phenomenal. My husbands favorite type of food is Chinese and he said that this is the best he's had in many, many years. We kept it pretty simple with Crab Rangoons, Walnut Shrimp, and Tofu in brown sauce and they were excellent choices. After realizing that the restaurant is connected to a fish market, we will definitely be ordering some fish entrees next time. Great experience, can't wait to be back soon!

Kenneth B.

Yelp
The food is just OK and the service isn't worth the tip you will leave. You end up wishing you went to any Asian Town restaurant you enjoyed in the past. I can think of at least 10 better places, in same general area. The people working there, do not seem to enjoy being there. You can do better for your money.
google avatar

Yelp
This is probably the best Chinese food in Cleveland even though I have to visit some other Chinese restaurants in Cleveland. I've traveled to two different cities in China (in 2015) and the food here is authentic; however, I will say that the dishes I had here had too much oil. FOOD OPTIONS -- The menu is big so you will have plenty of options to choose from. I visited last week Friday, 30 August 2019 with my friend Ami. We ordered a bunch of food to share (see attached photos). APPETISERS: My friend and I started off with 2 different appetisers: 1) Scallion Pancakes ($3.95) - These are mini pancakes that come in a plate of about 6 total. These are a perfect, little snack. But, once you have 2, you're be tired of all the oil 2) Lamb Skewers ($6.95) - This was the least oily dish out of everything we ate. It was a bit dry but still tasted very good. If you like lamb then you'll love them at this restaurant. MAIN COURSE 1) Szechuan Dried Pepper Chicken with Peanut ($13.95) - This was definitely my favourite dish of the night. It came with white rice. 2) Dan Dan Noodles with minced pork and minced ($6.95) - Very delicious but also too oily. My only con is that the food here has alot of oil in it which at a certain point started to affect my stomach. So while the oil probably made the food taste better, I would prefer less oil. Nonetheless, I can't wait to return back to try some unique Chinese style vegetables. I recommend ordering a few food items and then sharing them with a friend or friends. This will allow you to try several dishes at once and save money. **** - 126 total reviews in 2019 - 335 total overall Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 5 September 2019

Yelp
I used to say to myself "this is the best Chinese food in Cleveland". After living in Chicago for 6 years I think I'm adjusting that to "this is the best Chinese food in the Midwest. The eggplant (yuxiangqiezi) is the best. It reminds me exactly how I had it in China. The dumplings are good. The Kung pao chicken was just ok. I wanted it a little spicier. I haven't had this in a while but when I came here years ago the spicy boiled fish was amazing -- also just like China. 100% would come back for every trip to Cleveland

Yelp
Really great and authentic food in Chinatown. Highly recommend! Menu is very vast, but the staff can help. They have very authentic Szechuan cuisine, but also have "Americanized" dishes too.

Yelp
We like Szechuan cuisine ,so we went there and ordered 4 entrees but were very unsatisfactory. The 3 cups chicken was about a half garlic and big slices (7 x 2 cm) of ginger , but no basil and tasted too sweet .A weird creation ! The other entrees beef and green pepper was filled with about 3/4 pepper and onion and in large amount of sauce. The other two entrees were also below average rating !

Allen N.

Yelp
Food: Everything was really good! Portions were pretty on par with the price for Szechuan food. I was expecting more meat in the fish fillet, but it was still pretty good- flavors were there and fried nicely. The dan dan noodles were different from any of the ones I've had (noodles weren't as bouncy), but the sauce was numbing and good. The beef was flavored well- the veggies were mostly bean sprouts, but no complaints here. The cumin lamb was my favorite- the texture and flavors were all very well done. I'm not sure if each of these meat dishes comes with a bowl of rice, but I only got one bowl. Service: I ordered 4 plates for a one person meal, which might be improper etiquette, but I paid and tipped 20% just like any other party. However, I was treated disrespectfully- my broken mandarin allowed me to tell they were unhappy that I ordered so much afterwards. At one point, they even called the chef out to watch me and laugh. I hadn't eaten all day, so I just wanted to eat it while it was fresh and pack the rest for the weekend. Honestly though, me? I'm gonna eat- so I didn't care. I don't want to bomb the review just because of this though, since the food was pretty good. Ambiance: Pretty cute interior, multiple booths along the walls and a few round tables for bigger parties.

Yelp
I'm super surprised I managed to find good Chinese food at Cleveland of all places. The sad excuse of a Chinatown that Cleveland has is actually redeemable at least for the food. Szechuan Gourmet is actually what I'd call a hidden gem/hole in a wall business. I had the beef noodle soup, sauteed water spinach, and sour plum pork. All of the above items were simply delectable. An extra shout out to them for having sour plum pork because that's rarely ordered even at Chinese restaurants. The beef noodle soup had a generous amount of noodles, broth, and meat. It wasn't too salty nor spicy, but I imagine that I ordered it with light spiciness. Everything is nice and greasy - perfect for the bitterly cold Winters that have encroached Cleveland as of recent. Parking is no problem and I Szechuan Gourmet is never busy over weekday nights. Weekday nights are mostly comprised of Chinese people from the mainland, and Western workers that must definitely have great taste if they're going to Szechuan Gourmet. Oh another thing that's a big deal for me: Right when I walked in, the workers and the owner immediately spoke Mandarin to me. I'm so proud of that because most Chinese people instantly assume that I'm too Americanized to be fluent in Mandarin. About time my bilingual skills are recognized!

Yelp
This place is one of the best Chinese places in Cleveland. This was my first time going in person, I have always previously gotten their food through Ubereats, and their in-person experience is great. The restaurant itself is a relatively small, yet cozy location and we were seated in a quiet corner booth. I went with three other people and family style is the way to order! There are so many dishes, it's the best way to make sure you try them all. For an appetizer, we got the lamb skewers, which were honestly probably the worst item of our order. The lamb was cooked inconsistently and not well. Some pieces were overcooked and chewy, while others were dry. However, all of the other entrees were incredible. We got four dishes in total: the chicken with broccoli, the double-cooked pork with cabbage, the Szechuan dried pepper chicken with peanuts, and the Mapo tofu. The Szechuan pepper chicken is good for anyone craving a spicy meal and the chicken with broccoli is good for those with a low spice tolerance, yet still fully flavorful. Really great restaurant and I will be going again.

Yelp
A great spot for lunch or dinner. The beef & turnips is a little ordered but delicious dish. Staff is attentive and very helpful when navigating the menu.

Lindsay M.

Yelp
I tried this place based on good recommendations here--got the salt and pepper crispy tofu. I got delivery so can't speak to service or ambiance. The tofu is a HUGE portion, so I was delighted by that. But only one bite and I thought, whoa it's like they forgot the pepper and in its place used triple or quadruple the amount of salt needed. I thought at first it's fine, I can get used to it, but after like 5 bites, I had to give up. It's simply inedible. Maybe I'm just spoiled by the high quality Chinese food in my home down or something? I don't know. I'm even okay with very Americanized Chinese, but not food that's just basically....a salt lick. Just wanted to at least call attention to this menu item for folks considering going here. Maybe other dishes are edible ‍

Yelp
First came here with a bunch of coworkers for a long lunch. Members of our group were originally from different parts of China and had many different recommendations on what to try here. It was the best experience trying different things that you would not even know to ask for when you are with a large group. My husband and I have come back many times but obviously do not always order the most traditional dishes - we probably order the more American style ones but they are very good anyway! We typically order the chili tofu, fried fish with chili's, Crabb Rangoon, crispy chicken, eggplant, potato noodles, or lotus root. There are so many things we've tried here but could not remember the name as it was a family style and we all ordered different things. If you do not like very spicy food - this is probably not the place for you! However spicy food is my favorite so highly recommend!

Yelp
I was craving Chinese food, specifically Dim Sum, and remembered a friend of mine mentioned this place has good Chinese. When I looked it up, I figured they don't have Dim Sum on the menu. However, their menu looks pretty authentic so we decided to go. The neighborhood appears quiet and even almost eerie, but maybe only because it was my first time in the are and I was not familiar with it. They have spacious parking lot, so that's nice. The restaurant itself appears very simple and casual, and in a way gives off authentic vibe. The tables were quite spaced, so it didn't feel as crowded even though most of the tables were occupied. There were SO many things I wanted to order from the menu but there was only two of us and our stomach capacity weren't great at the time as you tend to eat more than you usually do on vacation. We settled on 2 dishes: Szechuan style bean jello noodle and steamed fish fillets with vegetables in seasoned soy sauce. The bean jello was unique in which it's a jelly-like square made of mung beans. By itself it's pretty bland, but they drenched it in a spicy szechuan sauce. The sauce has a nice umami flavor and that pleasant tingliness from Mala, which is typical id Szechuan flavor. The jelly has a nice texture. It's bouncy instead of chewy. Very good appetizer as it's light and does a good job stimulating your appetite. The fish looked simple but tasted great. The fillets were tender and smooth. The soy sauce gives it a touch of saltiness without being overwhelming and the shredded ginger added fragrance instead of being just a garnish. The bokchoy was still crisp, yet tender. We really enjoyed both dishes. Good price, especially for the portion. Service was nice and accommodating. The restaurant is actually also connected to an Asian supermarket but I didn't have the chance to take a look because it was already closed by the time we finished eating. If this place is nearby where I live, I can imagine paying a visit once a month or so.

Yelp
Great food! The food was very fresh and enough for 2 or more meals. I was impressed with the staff. They were very helpful and friendly and recommended the Peanut Tofu which was amazing! I would highly recommend this place!! It appeared to be a family business and it was great to go local. I will eat there again!
