Everything was so delicious. We had breakfast, and the eggs tasted like home. And the toast is my favorite part. It is made within house. It was perfection. And our server was sweet, friendly and super helpful. She was the only server on our side and she handled her business like a boss with multiple tables full.

Ate there twice in two days for breakfast. Service was a little slow, but it’s because they were busy. All the staff was hustling. All the food was excellent. Had the crawfish omelet, then a bacon/egg biscuit and a sweet potato pancake (they’re huge). 10/10. The biscuits are out of this world good. The sweet potato pancake is very much like a gingerbread pancake. Also excellent. Kids had the beignets. They were good, but my daughter switched to biscuits the next day and said she preferred them. I miss it already.

Google
Friendly staff. Portion size is generous. Some of the sides are hit and miss. Fried catfish and fried pork chops were on point.

It was a rainy day…! Story needs to start somehow. I had a late breakfast and it was raining. One of those weeks where it rains every day. My first time here since I’m from out of town. I ordered: Eggs, bacon, grits, toast and they brought me a gallon of coffee!!😂 Food was really good along with the service. I wish restaurants started making their own biscuits again, like good old times. I know cost has a lot to do with it but having a good homemade biscuits will make a difference. Overall, good place for breakfast!!

Google
I was told to come here for breakfast and I'm glad I did. This place is a breath of fresh air for breakfast. My waitress, Heidi, was very helpful with the menu and is a bundle of energy. If you order coffee be ready for the entire pot to come to your table. The brisket omelette with creamed spinach was incredible! If you love brisket, I highly recommend it. They make homemade toast and the hash browns are fabulous. The walls are are decorated with a lot of great things to look at. Got to look at the entire place to soak it all in. It was a special treat watching the staff doing something with the register with tape. Love the energy. I highly recommend this place. If you drive by too fast you'll miss it. What a treat!!!!

Google
What a lovely place to eat! Very kind servers, delicious food, and great prices. I highly recommend the meatball stew plate with green beans and potato salad. You will not be disappointed. The definition of southern hospitality

Google
Always good food. Staff is friendly. This Sunday they also had a plate lunch buffet to choose from. Haven't had that before. Check it out for good home cooked food.

Yelp
Food: 4/5 We ordered the Red Beans and Rice Lunch Special & Crawfish Etouffee Lunch Special ~ cabbage, green beans and rolls for sides. Everything was very good & tasted like a good ole lunch at your grandmas on Sunday afternoon. The cabbage was our favorite for sure! Service: 5/5 Very quick and excellent service from all the staff. Took us no time to get in and out on a Thursday at lunch time! Ambiance: 4/5 Don't let the outside fool you, it's located within a strip mall building but the inside is very homie feeling with unique decor & historical stories everywhere. Tons of room

Yelp
Beignets always great. Prompt service. Southern comfort food and atmosphere. Beignets are made to order, fresh and hot. Perfect size and density! Which is important!

Yelp
I don't normally leave reviews, but this was probably the worst meatball stew I've ever had. The meatballs weren't even ground beef and they had a stringy texture. I don't even know what it was.The side of corn had to be frozen out of the bag with no seasoning. Terrible...

Yelp
There are a lot of things that I love about Acadiana. My mom, Cajun food, and the accent. If only I could do the accent justice I would try and speak that way all the time. Know what I am saying chair? Anyway, T-Coon's is the kind of place that this dude from the hard streets of Nola loves. I used to work with a guy who worked down the road from here. He kept telling me that I needed to come visit at lunchtime and we would go eat here. Well, he retired so that never happened but when I was in town last week at lunch, I decided it was time to give ole T-Coon's a try. T-Coon's is the kind of place that can only exist in Acadiana. I have been to similar spots in Eunice (Cajun Music Capital of the World) and New Iberia (Capital of my Mom). Yes, many cities have casual lunch spots but none can match those in Acadiana. The menu here is vast but I have learned that the special of the day is always a good idea. On this Monday it was the smothered rabbit with rice and gravy. It came with two sides and I opted for smothered cabbage and green beans. The flavors were great but difficult for me to describe. Rich, deep, and delicious are some adjectives that hit the mark but you have to try it for yourself. I will say that the rabbit has a lot of bones so proceed with caution. The cabbage was the best I have had hands down. The ladies behind the counter were as sweet and friendly as one would expect in Acadiana. Prices were very reasonable and we left full and happy. If you find yourself in Lafayette, make sure you visit T-Coon's. Tell them T-Bubs sent you.

Yelp
This food was amazing - it felt like I went to someone's grandmother's house and she took care of me with this plate! A great demonstration of local flavor. I agree with another review that said the ordering process is a bit unclear but you can order from the line or from the kitchen, and can add on later through the waitress but you'd have to go up and pay again at the register, which can be a bit inconvenient. I think the food makes up for it. My waitress was a sweetheart. Seems like a great spot for locals. I'm glad I gave it a try.

Yelp
Amazing food!! So special starting my son's 10 birthday celebration at this wonderful local spot. Best biscuits and gravy ever everything I ate was tasty. Great flavors and exceptional service.

Yelp
This is the best breakfast I've tried in Lafayette. The grits are perfect, the biscuits are great, the omelettes are huge and delicious. They also leave a whole carafe of coffee on the table so you don't have to wait for a refill. Good simple, delicious food and wonderful people. Always good.

Yelp
Nice spot for lunch! Food was hot and fresh, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was nostalgic. I can definitely see why it's been around for so long.

Yelp
Very disappointed!? IDK what kind of fish that was!! It's supposed to be catfish, who knows?! Never again! Straight garbage! I do not recommend this place!!!!
google avatar

Yelp
We stopped by breakfast & coffee we both had pancake and meat. I had sweet potato pancake never had it before it was delicious and sausage patty. My brother had regular pancake and bacon . Endless coffee and hot.

Yelp
Some of the best breakfast food in Lafayette. Get the biscuits and gravy to go with whatever else you get.

Yelp
My husband & I visited T-Coon's this morning for breakfast. Layla was our server--she was so sweet & attentive. The food was delicious & did not take long to receive. The atmosphere felt homey & enduring. We will be returning! Especially during lunch hours because there were several things we wanted to try on the lunch menu!

Yelp
Man i cannot say enough about this place. It's a must have for breakfast if you're in the Lafayette area. I promise you will not be disappointed. I've been here twice in last 2 trips to Louisiana and i plan on eating there every single trip. Here's the reasons why: 1. The crawfish omelet is to die for. I've never had an omelet that tastes so good in my life and I've eaten them all over our great country. You don't even have to be a seafood or omelets lover and you'll still agree with my. Trust me. I am a very strict food critic and I've never given nor will i probably ever give such a highly impressed review of an omelet. I live in Austin Texas and I would give my right nut to have this omelet closer to me, it's that good. Now that's not the only thing i had that was good. The potatoes that came with it, not sure what they called it, they were stupid good too. I left nothing on my plate both trips. 2.the second reason this place gets a 5 star from this strict food critic is for the service. In 2 trips to this restaurant i got my food within 10 minutes of sitting down. 5 minutes between ordering and getting my food. I don't know how the hell they do it, i know it's not pre made food, so HOW did they get it out and hot so freaking fast? 3. The third reason for my 5 star review, the staff was over the top friendly. All Smiles all the time. Super fast, i never saw the bottom of my tea glass. That's very rare now days, specially in Texas, the waitresses deserve to be top paid waitresses!! I made sure to tip 40% both trips. Really i should have given more now that i think about it. (My business partner that travels with me got the turkey both trips and said it was the best turkey he has ever eaten. He destroyed his plate and left nothing behind. He also shares exact same review as i do. But he does not have this app)) NOW: i usually would take off a star for ambiance and overall cleanliness etc. and really i should for this place, but it was just too good of food and service to remove a star. But, this place is old and run down. They need to drop some cash on fixing the place up or moving to a nicer building. FYI, I still dream about that omelet and can't wait to return to Louisiana cause it's my first stop on the list

Yelp
Food was Yummy! We are not from here, so it was a fun experience. Lots of knew foods to try, rabbit, crawfish, catfish.... Yummmm! The staff was very friendly, again, we are not from here. During lunch hour they do "cafeteria" style dining. It's new to us, so personally I got a little bit of anxiety on the set up and not understanding that process. That's the only reason for 4 stars. Great food! And we chose to get dessert right next door. All and all, great place!

Gavin M.

Yelp
Heard good things about this place. went for lunch and it was buffet style. had the fried chicken which was raw on the middle. yikes. Veggies were so so. no sweet tea. might try again for more Cajun dishes.

Yelp
Great food Nice buffet The service is always friendly and the ambiance is "southern hospitality "

Yelp
Good breakfast, great service and super quick delivery. We were in a hurry and got in and out in 15 minutes. They even brought us our own coffee vessel for refills. Will go back.

Yelp
Visiting from California we actually ran into this place, we were going to get pastries next door but noticed this place and people coming and going, we had to check it out. I ordered the biscuits with gravy, bacon and sausage, and they were so delish, the biscuit was very nice and soft but the gravy is where its at, it was so good. The service was amazing, she was on point and very friendly. The place looked clean, everything was good. I would def be coming back when I am back in Louisiana.
google avatar

Linda S.

Yelp
Great breakfast! Attentive staff. Lots of regulars, so you know it's da place to be! Save some room for a stop at the pastry store next door!

Yelp
I have been here for breakfast and coffee, and it was very good. Recently I went and got in line for their crawfish étouffée. First thing is three people standing around/employees conversing and they don't notice there is a customer. The second thing is once I get up to the counter. the two people behind the glass are talking to each other and it takes another 15 seconds to be acknowledged. Lastly, the étouffée was fishy. The corn was bad. I threw both out in the garbage. The coleslaw was OK/pretty good. A lot of my friends have said that T-COONS has declined and I probably won't go back unless it is for breakfast.

Yelp
The best review that I could leave is to proclaim how as soon as I was done eating I was ready for a NAP that is it. That should be the review, but I know YELP is going to tell me to keep rolling , so I'll just say this. I doubt that you can go wrong with anything that you order from the menu because all of it was absolutely amazing. The service was great. We didn't have much of a wait and it was just damn good. So if you're in the area and you're looking for something good to eat, I mean it's a no-brainer. You owe to yourself to stop in!

Mike A.

Yelp
Great regular "normal" country breakfast place. Good biscuits. Plenty of food on the plate!! Quick service too!
google avatar

Michelle W.

Yelp
Hit this up while visiting from Houston. Decided I didn't want an omelet so went for the biscuits and gravy. Not my usual style but pretty good. Biscuits were so flakey. Great amount of seasoning. The grits I could have done without. Coffee was amazing. They had your own supply right at the table which was perfect after a long night.

Yelp
I like the cafeteria-style food. The waitress was very entertaining. Gave her an extra 5 over the 20%. Food was ok. Regular cajun food. The wabbit was good. It was Roger, wish it was Bad Bunny. It would tasted better! Definitely coming back to try more selection.

Davin S.

Yelp
My wife and I had breakfast here on a whim. We will be back. The service was incredible. I swear our waitress either had eyes on the back of her head or she was slyly using reflections around her to keep an eye on her tables while buzzing around the restaurant. As someone who waited tables for years, I was impressed. The food was stellar - flavorful, filling, and well priced. I had the Special. My wife had the brisket omelette (upon suggestion from our waitress). Both were so good, I can't wait to walk the rest of the menu. The ambiance definitely evokes a local, hometown vibe. There's a lot of fun stuff to look at, including some preaching memes and signs on the walls about keto and politics, but it's south LA, so we expect local businesses to be a little passionate. Did I mention each table has its own coffee pot? Because they do, and it's awesome. At this point, my wife and I feel it's risky going anywhere else for breakfast, knowing we could have gone here instead. It's our new fav.

Aj B.

Yelp
Food isn't as good as it used to be to be 20 years ago. I'm sure lots of things have changed in the years. The service has improved. Waitress was very attentive and courteous.

Yelp
Yummy! I needed a quick place to have breakfast on my way back to New Orleans. I was told this is where the locals go. Of course it doesn't look like much (a Cajun Waffle House if you will). But this one page menu did not disappoint. I had a crawfish omelette (add spinach & jalapeños) & I had to try the beignets. Cause as a Louisiana native how could I not? The omelette was surely one of the best ones I've ever had & the breakfast potatoes tasted fresh not frozen. The beignets were dense but good. One was more than enough to satisfy a sweet tooth. Now the pancake was not good at all, but we were so pleased with our omelettes we didn't care. Highly recommend this place.
google avatar

Kevinn W.

Yelp
Terrible food. The reviews on here are too generous. I ordered breakfast to go and the Bacon was harder than a rock. Gravy tasted like dog food. There was nothing enjoyable about my breakfast at all.

amie t.

Yelp
Older establishment. Nothing fancy; that's why I like it. I'm a local and it's one of my favorite places to eat in Lafayette. Food is home cooking. Pecan pancakes are incredible and the omelettes are fantastic! Service is great. But some of their seasoning while you're there. If it's your first time visiting, they give you a container of it free!
google avatar

Sharon M.

Yelp
the food was not good. the ladies that were dishing the food were polite & nice. the ambience was not so nothing. no i will not be visiting this business again. was not pleased with nothing!!!!

Yelp
From the moment we walked in we were greeted immediately, the employees were super friendly and made sure we felt welcome, the customer service was some of the best we've ever had! The food was also excellent, will definitely eat here again when we're back in the area.
google avatar

Yelp
I like this place, has kitchen/ cantina feel to it. And the dining area is huge. The menu on the wall is hard to see but went with what locals suggested. Meatballs or crawfish etouffee is what we ordered but both looked delicious. I had the crawfish. All the sides were good as well as the bread, which was slightly sweet but really tasty. My plate was clean after I was done! Parking lot was large too if you include all of the plaza parking. Can't go wrong with this place!
google avatar

Emily T.

Yelp
My go-to breakfast/brunch place when I'm visiting Lafayette. You can stop by the nearby Poupart Bakery on the way back home! Biscuits and gravy, excellent bacon, free-flowing coffee, friendly service, and a buzzy breakfast atmosphere. What's not to love?! I'll keep coming back!
google avatar

Todd R.

Yelp
First, be hungry for the full plate. Second, there is a menu to order off if you don't want food from the steamer table. Third, it's all good. Red beans n rice, our. Good smoky flavor. The meatball (pork) fricassee - so good. My wife and I should have split a plate, left so much on the table. And the beignets- probably should start there 1st. You gotta try. We can't wait to come back and try there other flavors.

Jay F.

Yelp
A great breakfast and I'd love to come back for the catfish courtbouillon. And right by our excellent Homewood Suites. Mellow Joy is a historically significant coffee brand recently brought back. And thanks to our wonderful waitress who just enhanced the experience.
google avatar

Vicey R.

Yelp
Best at everything. Walking in you seat yourself, they bring hot coffee and water to the table. Everything was delicious and homemade. I think this is the best place for a home cooked breakfast and it's perfectly priced.
google avatar

Tabitha T.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious breakfast spot! Definitely a favorite for locals. Everything is made fresh and seasoned perfectly. Walk in and seat yourself.

Yelp
Fiancé and I visited as a quick getaway to explore Lafayette. Stopped in for a late breakfast. Service was slow. Took about 20 minutes to get waters. We ordered 2 sausage egg and cheese biscuits. Delicious! Huge slices of sausage freshly made. Would visit again! 4 stars for the slow service.
google avatar

Yelp
Lunch plate lunches are also very delicious! Theres a different special everyday, come and try their delicious food! Check @eatinglafayette on Instagram and Facebook for more Lafayette food things

Yelp
Arrived at 130 they close at 2. Ordered brisket lunch, jambalaya and green beans. They heated a few slices of brisket and poured bbq sauce on top straight from the container. I sent it back and ordered a pork chop instead. Immeditely brought pork chop plate and chop had been under heat lamp for quite a while. Could not cut it cause it was so hard and dried out. People love this place. Positive- no charge.

Yelp
Delightful breakfast! We loved our server, Allison, she was so friendly and attentive! She told us places to visit in Lafayette that day and also shared her favorite foods. I love how they leave you with the whole canister of Mello Joy coffee so we can refill as needed. We were hungry and she suggested we order some beignets for while we are waiting for our entrees. I don't usually eat dessert first but this was a great idea, so delicious and held me over! Not that we had to wait long, because our food came out pretty quickly. I had the crawfish omelette, pretty rich but oh so good! Loved the grits and biscuit, no extra butter needed on the already buttery biscuit! Our breakfast was delicious and loved the friendly homey atmosphere!
google avatar

Yelp
My God, this place is astounding! Cute and homey, and the locals love it for reasons you'll immediately understand. I got the T-Coons Special (a grass-fed beef patty with onions, cheese, and over-medium eggs, with grits and a biscuit on the side), and my spouse got the crawfish omelet. Now, I'm from Kansas, where the steaks are legendary, and I can say with utmost confidence that this beef was RIGHT UP THERE. I could t stop smiling the whole way through breakfast. We also got some beignets, and they were just as dense and crispy as one could hope for. Our server was friendly and engaging, and we had a great conversation with her. She also left us a whole carafe of their excellent coffee! We'll definitely come here again! 10/10.
google avatar

Barry S.

Yelp
The service was solid. And the food was actually really good! I had the brisket omelette and a sweet potato pancake. It was so good
google avatar

Samantha M.

Yelp
Customer service was great and food came out pretty fast. Eggs were great and bacon was crunchy, my potatoes were kind of cold and tasted funny. I didn't eat them but i don't know what was wrong with them.

Jeff G.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and service. Very friendly staff.i love a greasy spoon, but way too much so.
google avatar

Regina M.

Yelp
Tried this place out due to good reviews online. BIG MISTAKE! From the rude waitress and staff to the disgusting, breakfast that was supposedly made to order, and came out of a warming dish, this was an awful experience, Overpriced as well! I've had much better food at my kids school cafeteria. Don't waste your time and money.

Yelp
Great food the place was very crowded with Mardi Gras. The waitress was swamped but was hustling.
