T-Mo’s BBQ Pit (Chicken & Ribs)

We got the fried chicken wings fried catfish french fries and mac and cheese. Everything tasted great and the customer service was amazing! The young lady working the counter was so polite and helpful! The owner actually came and greeted me personally! If you’re on the west go to the best! Support black businesses!!!! Celebrate National Black Owned Business month!!!!

The food is so good. Very well seasoned. The sauce tastes great. The meat easily comes off the bone. Just make sure to always check your order before you leave. I will definitely come back.

I've never in my bbq eating life had rib tips diced into small pieces with most of it being gristle 😭. This is definitely a joke. The meat was actually good but it's a no for me. The mac was flavorless and oily at the bottom. The yams were given canned with added sugar. Nope, never going back. Such a joke. 😂😂😂

Verbally ordered 1/2 slab small end dinner, w/ baked beans& potatosalad. I was never advised that they don't sell small end dinners. When I arrived home I telephone the restaurant. Requested a call from the owner, it's 1pm and no return call. I telephone the restaurant again and was advised the owner is too busy. The ribs were fat but tender, lacking flavor/seasoning, portions are generous. Sauce is mediocre also. Wasted 31.77. I will not be returning.

If you're looking for good barbecue in the city, look no further than T-Mo's. We ordered through their website (super easy) with a 25 minute pickup time and the food was ready in time. Based on my brother's review of Tameka, I had to leave one, too. We experience 100s of restaurants a week in our line of work and he never has a great experience so to hear how well you took care of him AND with the holiday tomorrow, I had to drop some love your way. Thanks, Tameka. He said you treated it like you were the owner. That's huge in today's lackluster restaurant industry.

Very pleasant coming here for the first time. Bbq joint that offers fried seafood I had to try it. Tameka has a very welcoming and hospitable attitude, she went above and beyond to help ensure my dietary restrictions were met. Not to mention the food is great! 2.13.25 CAN IN TO ORDER SOME FOOD FIRST THE SELF SERVICE MACHINE DIDNT HAVE WHAT WE WANTED OFF THE MENU SO WE GAVE OWN TO THE CASHIER WELL WELL THE TOTAL CAME MUCH TOO HIGH !?? THE OWNER NEVER CHANGED THE PRICES ON THE MENU ! WOOOOW OK WE PAID EXTRA AND TOOK OUR FOOD HOME . THE MAC AND CHEESE NEEDED MORE CHEESE. THE BBQ SAUCE IS BLAND AND I LIKE MY RIB TIPS IN A FOAM CARRY OUT NOT A PLASTIC CONTAINER.

This was a no for me. I was hoping to get the beautiful wings I saw on instagram after flying into town from the westcoast just for this. Mine looked nothing like what's advertised. My rib tips were tough and nasty. They were smoked as well and I definitely wasn't expecting that, I requested sauce on the side but didn't get that. The Mac and cheese was mushy and watery. The greens were decent. My son drove an hr away to meet me and we were both left disappointed.

So I drove from Northville,I wouldn't do that again. I found them on instagram. They were Dry. The greeting was just blah not inviting. Food- Fish is cooked great. Just a tad bit too salty for me. Collard greens- Very disappointing. I can literally just swallow them . That's how over cooked they're. That batch should have been threw away. Macaroni & cheese- I always have high hopes for the Mac. Yet disappointing. Not one ounce of seasoning. The noodles was cooked in water as well Yuck. { I have some Really Amazing macaroni} Yams - I'm aware that this one dish ALWAYS leaves me Annoyed. I don't like strings coming out of my potato. She / he used brown sugar barely any white sugar was used they're bland I don't think I taste any cinnamon or vanilla extract. Ambiance - the normal carry out vibe. 1 Star each - for fish, yam and Mac

Great service.. I came here when they first opened and was very pleased at the taste of the food. I decided to check it out again and that catfish was cooked and seasoned perfectly but when I opened the box of wing my heart dropped seeing what they served me. Charred wings were awful cmon who would served this

The customer service was friendly and it's was clean and well organized. The smoked wings were so good I can because they smoke the wing and thing drop them in the fryer they were perfect and the barbecue sauce is good.

Stopped in for lunch and had the pork ribs and catfish lunch specials. Ribs were so tender with just right amount of smoke and rub. Catfish was cooked perfectly with a nicely spiced corn meal crust. Restaurant was super clean. Would love to come back and try the ends!

Popped into T-Mo's barbeque on a whim. I couldn't decide what to buy for dinner. After pondering for hours, I found this carryout restaurant on Yelp; and learned it wasn't very far from my house. I got there about 20 minutes to close and was surprised that they had rib tips right before closing. The small place is located on a corner lot. Therefore, there is side street parking off of busy W McNichols Rd. The location is well-lit, and there were several people in and out during my wait. There is a large case of displayed side dishes to choose from, although the menu isn't complex. I got the rib tips and an order of barbecued french fries. The meal was good. Some of the tips were a little hard to chew; possibly because I came late in the day. However, the flavor was delish. I really liked the taste. I opted for plain as I'm not a big fan of sauce on grilled meat. The sauce was tasty though, the fries could be addictive; as simple as they are. I paid less than $10 for my late meal; and was very satisfied. I'll be sure to try other option on my next visit.

I ordered I have slab of ribs have smoked barbecue chicken both were dinners. The only problem I have with the dinners were the greens taste like hand greens, and the potato salad taste like store-bought and they didn't have any dinner rolls corn muffins nothing. I love the photo wasn't so great to me. The service was excellent very nice and polite. I didn't wait long but because of the side items and the price is I wouldn't go back.

I have been wanting to try T'Mo's for a while but they were closed when I stopped by last summer. Well today I had my chance. I ordered the rib tip snack box for $7.50 which comes with almost a pound of rib tips, fries, and a drink. I also ordered the $5.00 rib tip special which is also a pound of rib tips. This was a great meal and a great value. The guy who took my order and gave it to me when I picked up is very friendly, and I believe he's the owner also. I will definitely return. T'Mo's may become my regular stop when I need to satisfy my barbecue craving.

You can't go wrong here. Small carryout restaurant located on the corner of 6mile that offers great bbq options. I love the wings and rib tips. You have to try the Mac and the bbq fries. I always get the Mac & cheese but today i added yams. These might be my new favorite side dish. Perfect amount of sweetness and texture. They also currently offer a 1/2lb of rib tips for $5. You can't beat that. Food is always hot and fresh, even if you come in close to closing

Tito and his crew are here for you! I was in the area doing some prospecting with plans for dinner in short order. However, the T-Mo's sign and the bright new storefront that was not here the last time I came through caught my attention. So, I handled my business and circled back to check out the goods. Upon fist glance at the menu I though I would have to order a half slab to try the bones...then I noticed at $5 Rib sandwich special. Perfect for the way this day is stacking up. 3 bones. Two slices. Sauce or not. Your option. Great sign as they want you to see their product. Growing up in North Carolina and spending a decade in KC. I know good BBQ. This place hits the mark. They have all the things you would expect a BBQ joint to have at great prices. To top of off they offer several sweet items to choose from like 7up pound cake. If you don't know what that is...just go get one!!

I was upset at what I though was the only Ribs spot near my home (University District ). I turned down 6 mile and I saw T'Mo's on the corner (Well Lit). Steam coming off the glass ! I walked in and was greeted right away. The customer services was excellent. I ordered: Ribs Tips Full slab Dinner 6 Whole Wing (Rub) Dinner The food was so good. Portions were large enough I was able to take a lunch for today!

Good food. Smoked wings are the best. They have not been open since Covid19. Miss the staff.

This was my first visit to t-mo's I only got the rib tip special which was $5 , don't know how long that will last but they were very tender and they give you a lot of rib tips enough for 2 or even more ppl to share with or without sauce. I also had there Bbq French fries I will go back to try the chicken. Go check them out Detroit.

Baked beans and candied yams are excellent! Also really liked the smoked wings - peppery and flavorful and good quality meat! Very nice proprietors too.

This place set a great example for Detroit BBQ. The wait was a little long but it was for damn sure worth it. The staff was very welcoming and patient with while drooling over their variety of options. We got the chicken and rib combos, one with fried chicken and the other with smoked wings, with sides of Mac n cheese and yams. EVERYTHING was fire! Especially the fried chicken, it was damn near perfect! If you haven't been get down to T-Mo's ASAP!!!

My first visit. The staff is polite and helpful. The food was delicious. Ribs are tender and smoky. The sauce is sweet and flavorful. Fried hicken wings are cooked to order, seasoned well and crispy. The sides were really good. Mac and Cheese, green beans, baked beans, and sweet potatoes were all very good. Seasoned nicely and presented well. I shall return

My favorite rib tips in Detroit and the sauce is so goood. I'm picky with my bbq but every time I order from T-Mo's , I just end up smiling. They have a great smoker and the sides are delicious. Plus they are always so nice to me when I pick up my order!!

I enjoyed my shorts ribs, fries and water or soda (no diet drinks here). The price was $8, the service & food was great! I shall return......soon

T'MOS is a great place to get your next favorite smoked barbecue and smoked chicken ummm ummm good taste. You GOT to try it. I just placed a large catering order.

I visited T-Mo's after seeing a story in the Model D web newsletter. I was on Six Mile and decided to stop. I am glad I did. I decided to try the smoked wings. Better than any smoked wings I have ever eaten! If the smoked wings are an indication of the taste of the rest of the good, I will be definitely be back and will spread the word. The service was great. Owners were friendly. Keep doing what you are doing T-Mo's. Patois
