Stoopid Burger Co-Owner John Hunt Will Open a Cart on NE MLK This Month | Eater Portland

"After its Kerns restaurant closed last month, I learned that Stoopid Burger's co-owner John Hunt is getting back into the burger game by opening a new burger cart; the burgers will be way mellower than the restaurant's offerings and will be served alongside shakes and hand-cut fries." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

Great burger and fries!! I loved the different sauces they offered, I went with the Maple bourbon sirracha and made the fries even better, great causal atmosphere. Great service. Maybe a little pricey for what it was, but I understand it's gonna be like that in a place like that.

Best gluten-free smash burger in town! Having severe celiac means that I am not able to indulge in picking up a quick meal while out on the town. I haven’t been able to eat a burger outside of home since my diagnosis 11yrs ago. T. Ralph’s has allowed me to indulge again, even with all of my allergies. The service is another amazing experience at T. Ralph’s. The staff, especially Robert, go above and beyond in ensuring that there is no risk of cross contamination. They even accommodated my soy allergy in removing the margarine. Robert and staff know what they are talking about when ensuring safety for their patrons. Highly recommended!!

Google
Refused to provide extra ketchup and ranch claiming they were out on top of paying $20 for a burger and fries. Food was good but I did not appreciate the refusal of providing extra sauce when I already paid way too much for lunch. Update: I just walked past on my way out and saw more ketchup being handed out. I do not appreciate the dishonesty. Update: The owner replied to my last review and offered me a free lunch on him and provided his email. I reached out and he never replied. I hate leaving bad reviews but I won’t be coming back

Absolutely PERFECT! The burger was hot, juicy, and all the toppings were fresh. But y’all, the fries are THE BEST. Both the sweet potato and hand-cut fries are the best I’ve ever had.

Google
Great tasting burger and fries. Would have snapped a picture but I couldn’t wait to dig in. The owner came to our table and told us that the buns are home made and the meat is local, which we could tell by home fresh and tasty everything was. Definitely one of the better burger spots in Knoxville.

Google
Nice flavor but very small burgers. Maybe a quarter pound of meat. Services was not very good as well. Not very polite or helpful. Extremely slow. Twenty five minutes for a single burger. To make matters worse during the long wait, I watched multiple employees of other vendors walk up and ask for free burgers which were made ahead of my food.

Google
Seriously the buns were crazy good wish I knew what the secret was there but they have these really good sauces. Beyond that I just I just really liked the beef. Sweet potato fries! Yes !!

Love this place, I was so excited when it opened! Best fries in Knoxville by far and the burgers are BANGIN!!! You have to try the malt vinegar aioli with the fries, it's the best. Staff are super nice and knowledgeable about the product and the food is excellent - I go way too often after a long day at work 😅😅 Picture: I got the Build-Your-Own option with all kinds of toppings and the classic fries with malt vinegar aioli. When they ask if you want those caramelized onions, SAY YES!

Yelp
My husband said "This is the best burger." I tasted the meat and it was great. The fries were a little salty, but good. I don't like the sauce was extra, but overall we loved it.

Yelp
Not your average burger place, smashed burgers, local meat, homemade brioche buns, lots of homemade toppings. I was missing In N Out and this actually scratched that itch. Owner was super friendly.

Yelp
The absolute best smash burger I've ever had! We have been here 3 times in one week and I've recommended and brought at least 3 different couples with us who have all loved it as well!

Yelp
I recently visited/ate at this establishment at Kern's. The service was pretty quick given the line length for their food. The menu is very short and simple, which actually contributes nicely to moving people along rather quickly. The burger meat is very tasty, as is the bun! They make their own sauce which compliments the burger quite nicely. I would rate it as a 5-star if not a couple of downers. First, the burger patties are pretty darned small and get lost in the bun, so it's difficult to taste much meat. I had to peel some of the bun off in order to taste any meat--thus making for a super small sandwich. I think it a third patty would remedy this but then your burger & fries goes from $12 to $15.50 (w/taxes). Probably not a deal breaker for many. What was unfortunate--and I'd make sure it didn't happen again--was that I don't eat American Cheese and so I had them hold it. However, I expressed that I would prefer a garlic pickle over the regular but didn't want to pay an extra $2.00 up charge. The cashier said, I'll take care of that for you and so I said OK. He took care of it alright, by up-charging me $2.00! And, when I got my order, it had two pickle slices the size of a quarter in a little plastic cup. I asked the server if this was right, because I envisioned a wedge, not two tiny little slices. Without missing a beat, he said YES so I took him at his word. Oh yeah, and the burger comes with sautéed onions. Mine had about three slender/skimpy strands--weighing in at (I'd guess) a fraction of an ounce--so few/little that the only way I knew for certain that they added any was by lifting the bun and searching for them. I certainly couldn't taste them. So, after taxes and tip, this tiny itty-bitty burger with very little onion on top and an order of fries cost me $18.00!!! I'm not sure I'll return anytime soon but if I do I will definitely get a triple burger, so I can actually taste the meat. And, I'll not pay an extra $2.00 for two little pickle slices. Keep in mind, this stripped down burger (sauce and onions only) will still set me back $18.00. Is it worth it... $18 for what is essentially a Big Mac & fries? Depends, it's all relative I guess. ASIDE: The ambiance is lively but with EXTREME noise & light pollution! Adding baffles/sound dampers and dimming the lights would be a great addition to the Kern's food court!!!

Yelp
This is one of the best burgers in Knoxville. They are smash patties with the onions cooked in with the patty. The service was fast and friendly. Kern's is a food hall, which is a lively environment. Highly recommend.

Yelp
The absolute best burger I have ever had. I ate here for lunch today and can't wait to come back and enjoy another burger!!

Yelp
We have been eating at this burger place for a few months now and the food is delicious. However, today we had an incident that did not sit well with me. My daughter and her friend (they are 11) went up to grab our orders and accidentally grabbed an extra burger they thought was theirs. Their was a big group of us sitting outside and the gentleman making the burgers came outside and made a scene about the girls taking someone else's order then he proceeded to walk away saying something under his breath. They are kids and it was an accident. They even went back and apologized to the sweet lady running the cash register. She was very understanding. But even when I myself went to clarify things, he was still very annoyed. It just really turned me off that a grown man would treat children that way. Behavior like this should not be tolerated. It just shouldn't. Sad that it looks like our family will be taking a break from Ralph's.
