"Romance and Sophistication at T. Cook's If you’re looking for a special spot to celebrate an occasion or a loved one Scottsdale , make your way to T. Cook’s. Chef Paul McCabe is an Arizona native from Sedona's red rock country who's inspired by local, seasonal ingredients. His menu abides by fresh Mediterranean principles and features grown-up takes on comfort food. The bolognese, for example, is made with rabbit and sits atop a bed of edible flowers, while short rib-stuffed ravioli is paired with scallops, chanterelle mushrooms, and a little peach for sweetness. Brunch is a popular draw, too, with sweet and savory options that include lemon ricotta pancakes and a pancetta omelet."

T. Cook’s at Royal Palms blew me away. The short ribs were the best I’ve ever had — so tender and flavorful. I loved the focaccia with signature pesto, such a perfect start to the meal. The Maria’s chicken with risotto and the lamb chops were also absolutely delicious. Beautiful atmosphere and fantastic food all around!

Nothing to disappoint in this beautiful restaurant. If you’re looking for a casual atmosphere and an amazing dining experience (breakfast, lunch, dinner or just cocktails), look no further. This is old school Arizona at its best. Don’t expect a modern chain restaurant experience, those are fine, but this is something pleasantly different. Hotel room are a bit hit and miss, but if you are in the right frame of mind, you will appreciate the classic charm of the overall venue. Staff is wonderful here too.

My wife and I wanted something a little more upscale for our anniversary dinner and this place did not disappoint. T.Cook's place was elegant dinning and provided the much need ambiance for a anniversary dinner. Our server Sasha did an amazing job of making sure we had everything we needed and took care of use throughout the our meal. The entire staff was friendly, attentive, and helpful during our experience. They even added some rose petals to the table for that little extra touch For our meal I had the ribeye and she had the pasta mafaldine both were excellent. They brought us a small chocolate mousse cake to celebrate our anniversary which was unexpected, really appreciated, and undoubtedly tasty. I would definitely go here again for a special occasion or just because. I will be recommending this restaurant to others!

My boyfriend and I were staying at the resort for a few days to celebrate our 5th anniversary. All the staff were outstanding and gave attentive service -  Brent, Katie, and Ismael. They checked in with us regularly and we're so heart warmingly friendly. The food was so flavorful and cooked to perfection each time we went during our stay. Thank you so much guys!

My 2nd time eating here while in town. Our waiter was amazing. They worked with me and my food sensitivities. The Sea Bass was delicious and everyone else enjoyed their steaks. Bread pudding and the Sundae were a hit and I enjoyed my Afigado.

My husband and I ate here for my Birthday while staying at the resort. Both the pork chop and the filet were delicious and perfectly cooked. The service was amazing and very friendly. I highly recommend eating here for dinner. We also dropped by for breakfast in the morning and were happy with our experience and food. I don't often recommend eating at hotel restaurants but this is one I do recommend.

This restaurant is one of the best we experienced on our girls’ trip! We were greeted warmly and promptly. Rodrigo, our waiter, was knowledgeable and more than willing to answer all our questions. We ordered the short rib, the NY steak, and the bolognese. EVERYTHING was cooked to perfection. Some of the best spaghetti I’ve had and I’ve been to Italy! The Argentinian wine paired beautifully with my pasta. The focaccia with pesto was the missing touch with the pasta. Needless to say we were pleasantly impressed.

An elegant setting nestled against Camelback Mountain makes this an intimate and wonderful spot especially for out of town visitors. It’s easy to miss the turn, but once you arrive you won’t want to leave. A relaxing patio welcomes you with a fountain, tiles and plenty of bougainvillea. Inside, try the side room off the bar for low lights and big vibes. Nice wine selections and drinks await. At the restaurant, any of the selections are solid from short ribs to salmon. The garlic potatoes steal the show. And the salads are wonderful. But the real star might have been the house bread with homemade pesto. Amazing.

Yelp
For our anniversary this year, my wife and I enjoyed a stay at the Royal Palms Resort where we enjoyed two delicious breakfasts at T Cook's along with a wonderful dinner to celebrate. For the dinner, we arrived to a decorated table with rose petals in the shape of a heart, which was a thoughtful gesture when they knew we were celebrating our anniversary. I ordered a tasty steak dish with corn, potatoes, and sauce, all which complemented each other greatly. I would certainly order this again though the menu has changed and new steak dishes are being offered. My wife ordered a salmon dish with sauce, greens, and potatoes, which she really enjoyed. Also offered on the menu are some incredible desserts which now include maple bread pudding, chocolate peanut butter parfait, poire noisette, royal tiramisu palms sundae, limoncello creme brulee, and house made gelato and cookies. For our anniversary, we received a complimentary special chocolate cake with a special message in chocolate sauce. For our breakfasts, we had the choice of lighter brunch options, many breakfast entrees, soups, salads, sandwiches, and lunch entrees. For both days, my wife ordered an omelette while I had a breakfast burrito while we both ordered juices and shared a fruit plate. Many hotel reservations using the Hyatt Priveé, American Express's Fine Hotels + Resorts, and Hyatt Globalist programs include complimentary breakfast for two. We made reservations for breakfast and dinner using Open Table, which recently awarded T Cook's with the Open Table Diner's Choice 2024 award. There are indoor and outdoor dining options. Brunch is served daily from 6:30 AM to 1:30 PM while dinner is served daily from 5:30 PM to 9 PM (though on Fridays and Saturdays, it closes a half hour later at 9:30 PM). A fun thing to notice is that the dining room has the original Royal Palms trees right there which go right through the roof. There is also a nice, outdoor patio. We also learned that T Cook's supports the Mix Up Bar, which offers mixology classes and also the Cabana Cafe by the pool. Cabana Cafe includes shared plates, salads, entrees, kids' meals, cocktails, and other drinks. I'll write a separate review for the Mix Up Bar later, which was also a favorite spot of ours on our visit.

Yelp
Visited T Cooks on my birthday. I highly recommend visiting on a Monday like we did. We had the entire outdoor patio to ourselves. Our servers were attentive. The food was delicious and my little birthday surprise was a nice touch.

Yelp
Staying at the Royal Palms and decided to dine at T Cooks . What a beautiful restaurant and we were greeted warmly. Nice table and excellent server. Good and wine were wonderful. I will look forward to returning soon. I think the winter will be wonderful with the fire going!!

Yelp
Over the past 20 years, my husband and I have enjoyed many celebratory dinners at T Cooks with family or friends, but on this trip we also had the pleasure of staying at the beautiful Royal Palms Resort. Our server, Tiffany was a professional and very helpful. When asked, she told me the Short Rib was her favorite of the entrees. It was lusciously tender and delicious. The best I ever had, and I've had many! We will return the next time we visit Arizona.

Yelp
I was in search of a place that offered a nice outdoor patio where we could celebrate my mother's birthday. Brunch at T. Cook's fit the bill because it wasn't a buffet - you could order individual breakfast or lunch entrees and the ambiance is beautiful. As you would expect at a fancy resort like the Royal Palms, service is wonderful. Our server made us very comfortable and was attentive. Everyone else in our party of six enjoyed their entrees. Unfortunately, I was the only one who was disappointed. I ordered the turkey sandwich and was let down in a few areas. The bread is listed as housemade peasant bread. It's really too thick and bulky for the sandwich, overwhelming it and falling apart. The turkey was a generous portion but I found the flavor to have an odd aftertaste to it. I didn't want to keep eating it, it was so off-putting. I really should have mentioned it to our server as I'm sure he would have made things right. However, I knew the table would have to wait longer for me while they brought a new entree. (That's on me.) T. Cook's is a lovely restaurant located up against Camelback Mt. in the Royal Palms resort. It's a really great place to soak in the Arizona atmosphere. I'd be willing to go back and hope my disappointing turkey sandwich was just a fluke.

Yelp
We are staying at the Royal Palms hotel over the holiday as our grandkids are here visiting and we have had the opportunity to have breakfast here during our stay. We are our daughters guest of honor as a globalist, so breakfast is included each day. I have had both the avocado toast and the spinach and sun-dried tomato tomato quiche and they are beyond fantastic. No boring breakfast foods here. My husband has had two egg breakfast and this morning he had the eggs Benedict And both were fantastic. Their potatoes are absolutely perfect crisp on the outside and creamy on the inside. The service is impeccable, your coffee cup will never be empty and it is a peaceful ambience early in the morning. They do bring you a Nutella filled beignet, little mini ones to have with your coffee. How special is that? Highly recommend, especially if you have benefits, as it is quite pricey, if you do not!

Yelp
A friend and I had dinner here during a resort staycation, and T.Cook's restaurant was absolutely marvelous! My friend had the Branzino, I had the Short Rib Bourguignon. She loved the fish, but my short rib was one of the tastiest, tenderest, most DELICIOUS things I've eaten since I left France! Service from Rodrigo was friendly, charming, perfection ... and the dining room is a vast and lovely space with a live palm growing contentedly through the roof. Not as thrilled with the teenagers wearing tennis shoes and shorts in a formal dining room at 8 pm ... but that's our world these days. This restaurant remains a Valley gem!! Shoutout to their Food/Bev manager, Kay, for taking the time to connect with guests ... and remembering them the next day!

Yelp
T. Cook's is a fantastic dining spot with easy reservations, friendly staff, and incredible food at any time of day. Comfortable seating options whether you want to eat inside or on either of their patios, and can accommodate larger parties. Highly recommended for a memorable dining experience whether you're staying at the Royal Palms or not.

Yelp
What a wonderful place! This gem is nestled in the lovely Royal Palms Resort & Spa, just south of Camelback Mountain. (I'll review the Resort a little later - this review is for the restaurant only) I just met a group for dinner here and it was comfortable, efficient, and most of all - DELICIOUS! They have excellent noise reduction with drapes, carpet, etc - it makes for a quaint and relaxing experience. I never like places that are so noisy, you can't have a conversation with people at your table. We shared the appetizers - focaccia, heirloom tomato caprese, and beef skewers. All were winners; perfectly cooked and seasoned just right with their respective sauces and garnishes. I then had their short rib for my main dish. This was likely my top ranked short rib I've ever had, and that is saying a lot (I love short ribs and when served over a delicious polenta... mmmmmm!!) Yes, it's a bit pricy, but you definitely get top notch quality and friendly, attentive service - it's absolutely worth it!!! I know where I'm going tomorrow night for dinner! Will certainly be back!!

Yelp
Great filet and fish! I used to come to T Cooks more frequently up to about 6 years ago (2019) - especially for Sunday brunch or for evening cocktails and live music. Never had a bad experience, just seemed a high price for what it was then. Well I just came off a great dinner with friends and I'm happy there is new management since I was last here. The service was excellent by Sasha and staff was excellent. The salads, fish, filets ordered were excellent as well.

Yelp
What a bed property and a lovely experience. We went for brunch, but were blown away by the service and deserts. Every employee we encountered was so thoughtful and professional. The deserts were gorgeous!! The sorbet is served on ice!

Yelp
Wonderful Birthday Lunch! We've been visiting the Royal Palms for years... The Seafood Pasta was outstanding; the shrimp, mussels, & calamari literally melted in my mouth. Just incredible! Excellent food and service. Love the atmosphere & architecture of this incredible Hotel. Staff was more than friendly & kind. Elegant little birthday dessert surprise with a candle. The Royal Palms is perfect for a pleasant birthday lunch or dinner. Thank you so much.

Yelp
I absolutely love The Royal Palms and coming to Tcooks. This year we did their Easter brunch and originally thought we were getting the buffet but instead we booked the fixed menu. I think the buffet was a better deal for what we paid (the drinks should have been included in the $175) the service and the ambiance was spectacular. I loved our servers and just everything about the service was amazing. I loved the live music, the Easter bunny, the bread and pesto and before we sat down we grabbed a drink from The MixUp bar (the bartender was amazing as well). With such an amazing space and iconic restaurant I would have hoped the bathrooms would be cleaner and nicer but nope! The bathrooms really is the reason for the 4... I hope an upgrade is on the roadmap soon.

Yelp
I stayed at the hotel by the restaurant for a 5 days work conference. I had almost all my meals at this restaurant. I love how elegant it looks and how amicable the staff is. The food is the delicious and they will make sure you are happy with your meal. My favorite: best benedict i ve tried, mimosas for lunch time were just perfect.

Yelp
Server was outstanding! The seating outside was incredible. There was a wedding going on so we got to enjoy the eight piece band during dinner. Simply a great dining experience.

Yelp
The food at T Cook's was impeccable, which is good since dining options around the hotel are limited. Service was just right, too. The Caesar salad with a T Cook's spin of green goddess dressing created a delicious dish even my seafood-averse husband enjoyed! The cocktails were creative and fun, the entrees perfectly balanced and nicely portioned. Desserts were true standouts and not after-thoughts like you find at some restaurants. My only critique was the ambiance. We sat on the patio, the one facing the lawn, and a corporate event tear-down was taking place so it was a little loud and not super visually appealing. It's understandable, as they run a number of events, so be aware of that if it's important to you. Okay, one more critique: Add Washington state wines to your wine menu! As a Washingtonian I am biased, but we really do have some amazing wines being produced up here.

Yelp
Dined here March 2022. We enjoyed the outside patio. Excellent service. Good food: Short rib, $42; Mussels, $20; Octopus, $21; Endive & Frisee salad, $17. No dessert, plus plenty of wine + $206 before tax & tip. Will return.

Yelp
Took my wife here for our anniversary. Was quieter than I expected but the service and food was fantastic. It's not far from our place so I'd definitely consider a return visit for another occasion.

Yelp
OMG the food is AMAZING, I've eaten at the pool and at The Mix Up Bar several times, both have excellent food as well. The dining room has a kinda old world feel with very comfortable chairs. Sasha was my server and he was awesome! Great recommendations, helpful with my questions, and first class service, took care of me impeccably. I was dining alone, so I even heard go above and beyond for a table near me who asked for things not on the menu and he totally made it happen, so to me that is going above and beyond servicewise. Sasha informed me that the menu changes every 4 months, which is something I enjoy, great quality but something new often. I had the Arizona Citrus starter that was super light and refreshing and then I had the mussels which were completely delectable and exactly what I was looking for the current selection has spanish chorizo and corn so it has a bit of a kick but it's a wonderful kind of spicy, it also comes with noble bread which helps calm the heat. Then I had the Smores dessert and it was heavenly, i love love love smores and this was a great elevated version, which was very balanced, I was expecting it to be overly sweet but it was actually very balanced which made it more enjoyable! Now the not so great...in the mornings there is a coffee bar at T. Cooks the lady in charge was not pleasant to my mom the first time when she asked if there was iced coffee and when I went I was completely ignored for several minutes while she was on the phone. I mean ignored, I wasn't greeted, I wasn't asked to wait a moment, nothing, so I just stood there awkwardly waiting to be helped. When she did ask the person on the phone to hold I asked for an iced coffee. While I was getting creamer and struggling with the jug I was privvy to the continuation of the call which was her talking to her someone about her data plan for her phone while she was travelling in foreign countries and how it didn't work great in the past. I also found out from my mom that I should have been offered regular coffee or cold brew and I was not, I prefer cold brew so that would've been nice had I known. My second experience at T. Cooks was trying to go there too early after The Mix Up Bar, there was a younger hostess, also completely ignored me while I awkwardly stood there trying to be seated, finally I saw a sign that said they opened at 530, so I tried to exact through the door next to the hostess stand, apparently it was locked and I still didn't receive any kind of help or greeting or anything from the hostess. Sooo I had to walk back to the Mix Up door to leave, which is fine, I'm just finding it odd that the hostesses are all apparently oblivious to guests or are just plain unwilling to do things unless it's on their schedule. The reception team seems to have the same issue but that'll be in the review of the resort. The food though and the service from the waitstaff is impeccable though so I still would recommend the hostesses are kind of minor but it's weird for the level that this resort and restaurant are at and in comparison to the pool and The Mix Up bar which are all on the same property.

Yelp
We had an interesting experience for brunch here... A few different things went wrong, and admittedly some in our party were a bit hard to please. But overall we had a good experience. We kept it light and tried to let our server know we were in a good mood and it was not a big deal. We were very impressed with the banana bread pudding, that was delicious and not soaked or overly sweet. Our birthday honoree got a birthday plate worth sweets and beautiful flowers. Overall we enjoyed our experience and hope to be back soon.

Yelp
The food was absolutely delicious and the place was gorgeous. I had the huevos rancheros as suggested by my waiter (I want to say his name was Jeffrey and if that's the case he was so incredibly lovely) and they were incredible!

Yelp
What a great experience. First of all, the property is beautiful and everyone from the valet to the hostess to the server was incredibly nice and professional. We started with the CORN BISQUE (Freeze dried corn | creme fraiche | chive) and BABY GREENS (crow's dairy feta | compressed watermelon | persian cucumber | sunflower seed | honey lemon vinaigrette). One of the major sins that restaurants commit is serving soup that is lukewarm. Not here - the soup was piping hot and delicious. The dried corn was a little odd, but that was the chef's choice. The salad was also delicious - the honey lemon vinaigrette had a nice sweet and sour thing going. Excited, we continued to the main course. We started with the SKUNA BAY SALMON (Lemon buerre blanc | corn | scallion | garlic parmesan potatoes | red bell pepper | chimichurri | pea greens) and PASTA ALLA GENOVESE (Rigatoni | short rib & bone marrow ragu | white wine | pecorino). The salmon was perfectly cooked and the parmesan potatoes were delicious. The rigatoni were clearly homemade and considerably longer than a traditional rigatoni. It didn't have a heavy sauce, relying on the deliciousness of the short ribs. While incredibly rich, it was delicious. Unfortunately, we were too full for dessert, but they sounded delicious.

Yelp
A friend and I visited on a calm Friday evening. I arrived 15 minutes early and grabbed seats in the lounge area. It took a long while for someone to service me. I'm passing, a guy asked if someone had helped me. I stated no, but i was waiting on someone, so no biggy. He stated that he would grab drink menus and let a waitress know that I was ready to order. I asked for water as well. He returned promptly with the menus and waters, then stated that someone would be over soon. A young lady arrived a short time later and took my drink order; a cocktail. A longer period lapsed, no drink or waitress. My friend arrived. The first guy returned and asked if anyone had taken our order, I stated yes for me, but advised that my friend wanted a glass of wine. The guy noted the kind of wine and left. A short period later, he was back with three drinks- two cocktails and a glass of wine. He asked me if I ordered 2 drinks. I stated no, only one. The waitress came around for a well-check. We inquired about music and was advised that it would start soon in the bar area. We asked if we could move into the bar area. She accommodated with ease. The one-man band turned out to be amazing! The lighting was a bit bright. When asked if the lights could be dimmed, staff stated that normally they are, but the incorrect bulbs were installed and there was no way to dim them. Bummer. We ordered the charcuterie board, hummus, burrata, and a couple more drinks. It was all delicious! We drank, ate, danced, and enjoyed the music. Valet parking. Beautiful grounds!

Yelp
Stay vacation at the Royal Palms / and, of course, meals at T Cook. Their breakfast was a lovely start to the day; we are looking forward to dinner

Bill K.

Yelp
It was our first time there. I was looking forward to it all week. It's a really nice place. The entrees were very good tasting. Service was very slow. We had the pork belly appetizer. The outside was mostly nicely caramelized fat, somewhat sweet and you could taste the smoke. Very tasty. But the inside of it was dry and flavorless. The server suggested a wine for my wife that paired excellently with her delicious entree. A cold breeze blew from the patio through the dining room and chilled our hot meals quickly (it was blowing the hair of my two tablemates, and mine too, I assume). I gulped my ribeye as fast as I could- it was quite delicious along with the carefully prepared and seasoned veggies alongside the large meat portion on the plate. But I stopped enjoying it and just gave up when it got too cold. Others have commented that some of the seats could use new cushions. I will repeat that. One of them had a large indentation, mine just didn't have much flexibility left on the bottom cushion. I had very high hopes. We've heard about how great it is. It was just an off night. Turned very off when the valet fetched the wrong vehicle, then couldn't find my key fob (it took awhile, but they did find it- and our car). I'd like, really like, to say we'll be back. I doubt that will happen. I'm afraid the flavor of disappointment will be too strong an aftertaste. And I am really sorry.

Yelp
I was visiting family while in town and they suggested we go here for one of my last nights before heading back home. I was definitely not disappointed of their suggestion because this restaurant really delivered and the meal was delicious. It has a nice southwestern motif on the inside and a slow pace to it but at the same time being upscale. I chose the bone marrow and escargot to start (bone marrow is one of my top favs) and it was velvety smooth and delicious. I then followed up with their house specialty the paella. I have been to Spain more than once and ate paella each day each time I was there as well as all over the United States and this ranks as some of the best I've ever had in the United States. I ate every bit of it and would go back just for that dish alone. Thanks again for a great meal

Yelp
Best pork chop you'll ever eat. Also get the mussels. Perfection! Service was great, we sat in the courtyard. Table and chairs were shabby chic.

Yelp
Incredible breakfast/brunch! I try to stay away from ordering Avocado Toast when I go out for brunch, but I just had to have it here, and I had absolutely no regret. The Avocado Toast here was one of the best I've ever had! The toast was packed with flavor from plenty of avocado, fluffy scrambled eggs, tomatoes, burrata, and greens - truly perfectly delicious! The bowl of fresh berries and fresh fruits were truly fresh and delicious. I loved that the fresh fruits included dragonfruit, which is rare to see! The Greek yogurt with berries is equally delicious, with all the same fresh berries from the Bowl of Berries with the Greek yogurt to add more flavor and to fill up your stomach a little more. I really appreciated that this restaurant uses Greek yogurt instead of regular / sweetened yogurt like many other restaurants. The entire meal felt very healthy and light while keeping us full, which I was happy about! Oh, the two eggs any style was definitely a filling meal, which is perfect for a day full of hikes. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I never got to try the dinner here, but I bet the dinner is incredible!

Yelp
Stayed at the hotel here many times and the restaurant is fabulous! We had a wonderful meal, but the waiter, Sasha made our night! He never steered us wrong with the recommendations for wine, food and dessert, along with delightful conversation I had the Branzino and my daughter had the short rib rigatoni- I would highly recommend both. A perfect night out!

Yelp
I had an amazing Sunday evening dinner at this resort restaurant just last night. The valet was immediately present and parked my vehicle with a high degree of friendliness. Suggestion: Arrive early for a drink in the statue courtyard right outside the restaurant. My reservation was for 530 and I found all the tables in this amazing space already in use at 510. I made my way to the bar and ordered a Grey Goose and Soda with lime. It was prepared perfectly and presented in a cut crystal tall glass (very swanky). I was seated at a corner table affording me views of the large dining area and the several patio seating areas. I had spied on the menu and found a main course that suited me. When the server came I noticed an appetizer that sounded perfect. The fried octopus appetizer was perfectly prepared and served with corn on the cob. Visually the presentation was stunning and everything was delicious. For the main course I went with the Spaghetti dish which came with 4 large shrimp and a delectable bowl of perfectly al dente spaghetti in a sauce that was cheesy and mellow. I would have preferred a more tomato-y sauce with a bit of spicy kick but I get it that I'm not the only audience here. On the recommendation of my amazing server Tiffany, I had a glass of Quilt by Joe Wagner Cabernet Sauvignon. It was, as she suggested, nicely smooth and went quite well with my pasta dish. I would recommend T. Cook's highly for an amazingly beautiful environment and delicious food. My server, Tiffany, guided me through the meal with a perfect balance of attention and professionalism.

Yelp
Came for our 15th anniversary! I LOVE their in-house ginger beer. It is a-ma-zing! The food was delicious as well! I highly recommend the crab fried rice while it is available. So good! The young man working valet even waited in the rain to open my car door since my husband was pulling the car around and it was pouring. He deserves some massive kudos and accolades for that!

Yelp
This is one of our favorite spots in town. 3 reasons: great food, outstanding customer service & beautiful romantic atmosphere. We've done several dinners including their Via Cappello (intimate lovers) dinners. If you want to impress that special someone, splurge for the Via Cappello where you'll get special corner just for the 2 of you. Food - always cooked to perfection. My fave is their Spanish Octopus. Hubby usually goes for their steak. Never had a bad meal so I don't think you can go wrong with any of the dish. Bourbon lovers - they have great selection of bourbons at fairly reasonable price, including some of the unicorns. Trust, my husband selects his restaurant based on their bourbon menu! I want to do special shout out to their staffs who always take good care of us. Sasha is our fave! I planned a special 'we are pregnant dinner' for the hubby and it couldn't turn out any better. Our waiter was excited for us and my husband ended up hugging him first before me!! Lol .....that's just to show you how passionate their staffs are. Atmosphere - there's not many other places that scream ROMANCE like the Royal Palms.

Yelp
Valet was frustrating: Upon arriving there was no one at the valet. after sitting there for a minute I started driving around to the back where I saw the only parking lot with "Valet Only". Right when i saw the sign, a young man appeared and pointed me to the back of the parking lot and said to park over there. When parked, he directed me back to the front where I was waiting for the valet to begin with...so what is the point of the valet? When I left he couldn't figure out how to start my truck (no idea why). He handed me my keys and said sorry.. i paid him anyways. Food - I was excited about seeing what looked delicious on their Yelp Octopus. The picture I saw had two large portions. When it came out it was one very small piece cut into two, the one side that was the tip was burnt to a crisp and even the thicker side was no bigger then a dime around. Very disapointed but with the way things are now i let it slide and was excited for my main course. The server recommended braised short ribs, pork chop, and lamb chops. I told him I was very hungry for some protein and asked what the biggest piece of meat was. He looked a little concerned and told me to order the pork chop al la cart and to get a side if i was very hungry. When it came out, the pork chop was pretty good, but no larger than 9OZ. I don't care about price as much as I do quality and portions. This is not the place for me. I had to fill up on an entire side of mashed potatoes. Wine list was good at least. Server was good too. Beautiful views. Overall I was pretty let down at what they had to offer and how it all came out. I can spend the same amount and get something truly special somewhere else. I just was not WOW'd. Hopefully it was just an off night...

Yelp
T Cook's....boy do u know how to make a customer feel special! Took my fiancé here for his birthday & we totally got the royal treatment! See pic below of his Royal Highness in his royal chair! Our meal was definitely good, but not the best ever. The wagyu beef hot stone was delicious and sinfully worth trying, but u pay a steep price of $23 for 3-4 very thinly cut small slices of beef. The lobster bisque was ok. It was a little on the salty side, so I ate the very small amount of lobster in it and left the rest of the soup for a happy drain somewhere. My branzino wasn't as flavorful as some of the fish I've had during my recent trip to Asia. I had a little piece of my fiancé's beef short rib and didn't particularly like the sweet flavor of the rib, but the rib was cooked to perfection! For our sides, the sauteed forest mushrooms were a hit, but the brussel sprouts were stale & just boring. God, I'm becoming one of THOSE critics! Forgive me!! My 4 star rating is mostly influenced by our exceptional service and T Cook's staff going above and beyond to fulfill a young man's dream of having his favorite bread pudding dessert brush the sides of his lips, then move towards the entirety of those soft luscious lips to end in a voracious gulp of pure bread pudding bliss! My fiancé didn't think he could ever enjoy bread pudding again, after being diagnosed with Celiac's, but T Cook's delivered a gluten-free bread pudding fitting of his royal Highness! Hats off to T Cook's chef and staff for making us feel like royalty!!!

Yelp
High end restaurant in the Royal Palms hotel. Went with my two teenage sons. Great cocktail to start, mocktails for the kids but by far the best was the "Sweet and Salty" dessert. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Went here for Mother's Day brunch and had a very disappointing experience. The pre fixed menu was $175 per person and the choices were very basic... and not well executed. The website claims a decadent experience but for $800 our family of 4 got oily scrambled eggs, chewy bacon, deep fried frozen potatoes, French toast and a few shrimp cocktail. My husband did get a ribeye but it was just so-so. It was the most "decadent" thing on our table and definitely didn't justify the cost. I reached out to the manager because it's only fair to give places an opportunity to right a wrong before posting a review and his reply was condescending and less than apologetic. You could spend a quarter of the money and get really delicious food at so many other places! Such a bummer since the restaurant itself is beautiful and our server was so sweet.

Yelp
Such a fantastic dinner, beginning to end! We were celebrating my daughter's birthday, and this is a great place to celebrate a special occasion. The mussels were my least favorite, the sausage and broth were fantastic; but some of the mussels were undercooked. Next the entrees. I ordered the lamp chops, which were cooked perfectly and we so delicious! I can't remember what the puree was, but OMG it was so tasty. Loved the dash of tang from the pomegranate seeds. So, so good! I snuck a taste of my daughters dishes too. The striped bass was fish perfection! The Mediterranean Paella was also really good. Finally, they brought my daughter a really great dessert sampler. This place is not cheap, but great for a special event.

Yelp
Portions are small for the price. Furniture needs updating. Cushions on seating chairs not comfortable

Yelp
My Boo has been telling me about this place ever since we relocated to Phoenix a year ago. He said he remembered it being very nice & special so we decided to celebrate our anniversary here. One of the frustrating things about this place is not being able to talk to a live person when calling in but leaving messages. We did make our reservation on line but the day of we were running about 15 minutes late, I tried calling but got voice mail. When we walked up to the hostess stand & I explained "I'm sorry we tried to call" the hostess said absolutely nothing to us, no "Good evening" or "that's OK" or "Would you like to sit outside" NOTHING! She told the other lady at the desk where to sit us but there were plenty of tables & we requested the tables against the window with nice high back wing chairs. I did mention it would have been nice to be acknowledged & later that hostess came to our table & handed me a long stem rose & apologized. We waited & waited & waited & finally asked a waiter that walked by "Can we get a drink?" We had been there 25 minutes BEFORE a waiter came to our table! We ordered drinks & an appetizer of mussels. We got the mussels before we got the drinks! That is so BAD. Finally the mussels came & they were delicious! Some of the best we've had. They are big & juicy in a very tasty broth which is seasoned w/lamb chorizo! Served with yummy thinly sliced grilled sourdough. Next we had salads, we had the burrata & Kale Caesar, again, really tasty and refreshing. My entree choice was the rack of Lamb & Boo ordered the Branzino! Both were really good. My Lamb was a bit rarer than I prefer but I decided to take half home & savor the next day a bit more cooked. The bus boy was the most attentive of our servers & boxed up my Lamb. When he brought my To-Go bag he said "I added some extra bread & pesto sauce". Great! The Pesto is light & bright and the herbaceous Focaccia was so tasty. I put the bag next to my chair. For dessert Boo ordered the orange chocolate dessert. I had a bite & it was very good. At this time our waiter also told us our cocktails were on him since we had to wait so long for service. Ok, good idea & timely since we were getting ready to pay. I excused myself to the ladies room & when I returned noticed our to-go bag was gone! WHAT!! Turns out the guy seated at the table next to us had taken our bag. What's crazy is I had heard them take part of their dinner home as well so they left w/two bags. We were frustrated! What was a celebratory dinner for us turned out to be a crazy evening. The hostess came up to us as we were leaving & said as much. She said "we (T Cooks) need to make this up to you. I said "How?" She said she would tell the manager & we'd being here from someone. We never did hear from anyone. To sum it up. Front of the house is sub par but the back of the house cooks a fantastic meal!

Yelp
We are staying at The Royal Palms Resort and Spa for the weekend. We have enjoyed two meals at T.Cook's so far. We have been greeted by the staff each time with a friendly welcome. Our first meal was brunch on our first morning here. We had the pleasure of being served by Tiffany. She was friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was served warm and delicious! The breakfast punch was so tasty! The atmosphere is beautiful and old school Spanish-southwest flair. Very inviting and pretty. We loved our meal and service so much we came back for dinner. Again greeted with a welcoming hello! We again had the pleasure of being served by Tiffany and she is a very friendly, welcoming and attentive server, we greatly appreciate her! The food was again wonderful, tasty and served warm and flavorful. We highly recommend staying here but even if you don't get a reservation for T.Cook's and ask for Tiffany as your server. We will enjoy this amazing restaurant! Janis John Kohler IL

Yelp
Not the T. Cook's people expect. Staff was friendly enough, but never cleared anything unless we asked. Brought out dinner, but didn't take the empty appetizer plates from the middle of the table. The food was meh. Salads and appetizers were good, steaks were rubbery and fatty, paella was oily and had empty shells and literally 1 piece of chicken and 1 chorizo in the whole thing. Restaurant was dirty, especially bathrooms. Wet dirt on the floors, toilet paper on the floor and no towels of any kind to dry your hands. 2 baskets of over flowing used towels under the sink. I don't want to go too hard because it's probably difficult to keep staff right now, but a little bit of noticing could go a long way.

Yelp
While I agree T Cooks is a place we all grew up with, coming with our parents and kids. I wonder do we still come here out of nostalgia? Or because we truly think this is a place better than any other in Scottsdale. While the food and service is still amazing, frankly the place is feeling 'old'. The furniture the patios, bar areas are all a bit worn. Could a renovation reinvigorate this place? Absolutely!!! Could they go on to serve the next generation? Might be a good idea to update a bit. A fresh coat of paint won't cost too much.
