What an amazing experience. We were running so late and they were extremely accommodating. When we got there, we were able to meet the chef and watch the sous chefs prepared the dishes. The entire experience was so memorable. The meal was an absolute love letter to Vietnam. I highly recommend the wine pairing. After we were done, we were able to chat some more with the owner. I expressed how much I loved the cinnamon and he had a GENEROUS amount delivered to our hotel the next day to take home. I’ve never had such an amazing experience.

This restaurant was Michelin caliber, from the food to the service. My spouse and I were celebrating our honeymoon and the staff made us feel welcome and special the entire evening. Though it’s a long tasting menu, the experience was more than worth it. Each dish was inventive and showcased Vietnamese ingredients and dishes. We left full, but not overstuffed. I enjoyed the presentation where the staff explained the dish, accompanied by cards which gave additional details on the ingredients. One highlight was that they offer a kombucha juice pairing which I’ve never seen and was lovely for someone who doesn’t drink! My spouse enjoyed the wine pairing too. Highly recommend to travelers looking for an intimate, affordable, luxurious evening in Hanoi.

T.U.N.G Dining, Hanoi, Vietnam. A fine dining style restaurant with a set menu. In fact, T.U.N.G Dining was the first restaurant in Vietnam to offer a set menu. Listed on Michelin Guide and WB50 Discovery, T.U.N.G is known for gastronomic style probably because of Chef Hoang Tung’s experience in Nordic countries. For example, omitting butter and cream in favour of ingredients like fermented juices and yoghurt. Chef uses high-quality ingredients and the dishes are beautifully presented. Extraordinary experience I had here at Tung Dining! All courses were beautifully made, and their taste were even better than their looks. I’m still dreaming about the pork & yuzu, the pho, the veal, the toothfish, and the satsuma beef. I can’t even express enough how joyful I was during the 3-hour I spent in this restaurant. It was delightful how the they combined different unique flavors of Vietnamese herbs & spices as well as cooking techniques on the extremely high quality & expensive ingredients, and the end result was chef-kiss, so so good that I’m immediately planning for the next reservation. The staff were super nice and attentive, they were good story tellers and they had this welcoming vibe that made my dine-in experience did not feel pretentious like most fine dining places be like. All the small details are thought of, from the ingredients choices, gorgeous plates, the food cards, beautiful lacquer coasters, to the artisan utensils for each course. This is a charming restaurant, with beautiful and hardworking human beings behind it, and has extremely delicious & high quality food. This has been a ray of sunshine for my trip to Hanoi, thank you for your food and service, I will definitely come back!

We had an amazing birthday celebration at TUNG! The food was absolutely delicious, each dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. I was particularly impressed by the innovative fusion of Vietnamese cuisine with other international flavours, took traditional favorites to the next level. I particularly loved the toothfish, which was perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful, as well as the carabinero. Every dish was a delightful surprise, showcasing the culinary team's creativity and passion.

The reservation experience was honestly the worst part — unresponsive and frustrating, and far from what you’d expect from a restaurant at this level. That said, everything after stepping inside was outstanding. The atmosphere is beautiful and refined, the staff are genuinely kind and attentive, and the food is exceptional. Each dish comes with a clear story: thoughtful sourcing of ingredients, bold yet precise combinations, and moments of real surprise. Sweet potato topped with caviar? 😳 Unusual, but it worked brilliantly. Once you’re seated, the experience is truly memorable. I just hope the reservation process catches up with the quality of what happens at the table.

This was my second visit to TUNG Dining, on December 17th, and the experience showed a remarkable evolution from my first encounter. The Christmas season framed the evening beautifully, with a Nordic-inspired aesthetic minimalist yet warm that immediately transported me beyond Vietnam, even before the first dish was served. The 20 course tasting menu is an experience that fully justifies the time and attention it demands, engaging the diner emotionally, physically, and sensorially. This iteration of the menu demonstrates a deeper narrative maturity, where history and artistry are thoughtfully integrated into each course. Notably, the steak was served with a knife crafted from reclaimed war materials, a powerful and symbolic detail that adds historical depth to the dining experience. Equally impressive, the trays and coastal tableware are truly one of a kind created by a single artist in Hanoi capable of executing such unique craftsmanship. These elements elevate the meal beyond gastronomy, transforming it into a cultural and artistic dialogue. The progression of the menu felt like a journey from the North to the South, and ultimately beyond borders evoking the refinement of European fine dining with fancy Kristal caviar while remaining deeply rooted in thoughtful storytelling. TUNG Dining is no longer just a destination for innovative cuisine; it is a carefully curated experience where food, history, and art converge.

What an experience. This was our second time visiting T.U.N.G Dining and it was just as magical as last time. The venue felt cosy and private, the food was inventive, authentically Vietnamese and every step of the journey was carefully thought out - our favorite thing was the little info cards that came with each course! The wine pairing was fantastic and we always recommend this place to anyone looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion. Thank you, T.U.N.G Dining team for such a memorable night!
