TA-KUMI

"A Japanese restaurant with a pleasant decor where the cuisine of its homeland is featured on an à la carte and several enticing set menus. In fine weather, make sure you book a table on the terrace with its views of the Alcazaba!" - Michelin Inspector

My wife and I both had the menu with the optional Wagyu. Overall it was a really enjoyable experience with a nice view from the 2nd floor, but here a few high la and lows: 1. I can definitely recommend the teas, the one I had was delicious and rich in flavor. Both the ceviche that came before the meal as well as the tuna tartare with truffles were amazing and definitely among the best we had. The oysters were nice but probably still best fresh instead of fried, but tastes differ. What we did not enjoy much at all were the raw carabineros, though the roasted head was nice. The sashimi was overall enjoyable and of good quality, as well as the first round of nigiri which had amazing flavours. Sadly the 2nd set of nigiri was less flavored and we started to feel quite full. A nice refresher such as granita or something similar would have been a great addition to the menu. That is especially true with both the fish main coming up next which was rich and deep in flavor as well as the Wagyu at the end. And while the desert was good, it was a bit too soapy tasting. Overall a good experience with some true highlights but sadly a bit of a lack of balance throughout the menu overall. The service was good, though some of the waiters seemed quite new and a bit inexperienced.

We were excited to visit this restaurant, and it did not disappoint—one of our favorite meals of our entire Andalusia trip! Joao provided excellent service and spot-on recommendations for food and drinks. Seated at the sushi bar, we enjoyed watching the chefs at work. The food was incredibly fresh and well-executed—we had rockfish usuzukuri (thin-cut sashimi), a mixed hirazukuri sashimi platter, and a variety of cold and hot nigiri (spicy tuna, salmon aburi, toro aburi, scallop, wagyu, quail egg with wagyu), plus hosomaki (spicy tuna) and uramaki (soft-shell crab). The cocktails were creative, including a wasabi mule and one that tasted like Asian melon ice cream. Joao also recommended a fantastic sake and wine pairing. An unforgettable experience—highly recommend!

Delicious food, good service and a lovely atmosphere. One of the best Asian restaurants in Málaga, highly recommended

Google
Incredible Japanese food, you rarely find a restaurant serving this level of cooking. Don't miss the waygu and quail egg nigiri, the tuna tartare, the hot sushi with tempura prawn, the amazing mochi. We won't be able to come back to Malaga without visiting here again. Lovely staff, very welcoming to children, and beautiful views of the Alcazaba from the terrace.

Had the set menu. Next time would order off the menu and select. Honestly a bit hit and miss: a few of the sashimi pieces were just past thawed in the centre, way too cold and clearly frozen and still near frozen. The red prawn sashimi, in particular the heads were amazing. The torched sushi selection was superb. But I ordered two additional rolls off the menu and was not impressed. The wagu was good but it came last and I already had disappointment from 75% of the dishes before it so I just wanted to finish up and pay my bill. For a Michelin star restaurant serving sashimi still frozen in the middle is absolutely unacceptable. For the price of the set menu of €135 I felt like I did not receive the quality or money worth. Service and atmosphere was perfect. I sat outside which looked at the armoury walls. Would not return except for the red prawn sashimi and the torched sushi selection.

Google
A purely amazing experience. The food was both complex and simple, being made from great source material. The freshness and pure taste of the fish and seafood brought us back to Japan. This is our first time tasting this quality of food outside of Japan. Highly recommended. For both fine dining enthusiasts and Japanese food lovers.

Google
This was a truly incredible food experience, with some of the most delicious and beautifully presented dishes I have experienced. From the start with the amuse-buche every course was a taste sensation. I particularly recommend the eel nigiri, crab rolls, wagu nigiri, gyoza, sashimi but everything was exceptional with extra surprise touches thar elevate and complement the dishes The staff were very informative and a pleasure to be with. The only thing is we went around 9pm on a Thursday and we were the only ones in the main restaurant. That's such a shame for the restaurant, I really hope their weekend trade is great. They deserve to be full! Go you won't regret a minute

Yelp
This is an expensive Japanese restaurant in Malaga. Fixed menu is priced around 100€. I ordered a la carte according to my preferences (normally skip the deserts for Asian food). Food is excellent. €95 bill with sake made me so comfortable and full. In general, I spent €20-30 for a meal in Malaga. This is way above the average but worth it if you are craving for Asian food.

Yelp
Yep, an excellent place to satisfy your sushi and sashimi craving. The chefs are knowledgeable, professional, and funny. View of the old town was gorgeous but late afternoon the sun is beating down the patio. There's a set menu for €95 but didn't seem a good value so we opted a la carte. Shrimp Tempura was correct, batter was light and airy. Gyoza was well prepared with crunch. The real good stuff is the Toro, Eel with Foie Gras and Black Truffle shavings. I then spied a Tiger Prawn in the back and they proceeded to prepare it just by a quick steam bath then served rare. Amazing. Crew was warm and friendly, located perfectly

Yelp
This is actually a Michelin star restaurant. That actually doesn't mean anything to me as those types of labels just don't matter to me. But the food is really good! For a Michelin the prices aren't overpriced. The real difference is the food is really pretty. The sushi is very good. Very fresh! The location is perfect. Even if you stop for a beer outside there is a view of the castle. Very nice restaurant!

Yelp
We found this little restaurant on the hill near Alcazaba and decided to stop in for a bite. Wow! If only our budget was larger. This was superb food and outstanding service. Not only that but the waiter surprised us with a small appetizer prior to our meal and a chocolate after lunch. Everything was fresh and beautifully presented. There is a downstairs and upstairs area for your dining pleasure. It is worth the price to have this wonderful food. We started with the Miso soup, followed by Prawns and Vegetable Tempura, and the California Tuna Roll. The surprise with the Tempura was the small shishito peppers and the Tempura dipping sauce. Be sure to stop by this lovely restaurant and tell them I sent you!
