TA’AKTANA, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Labuan Bajo

I booked this resort for a few days of personal vacation after a long work trip in Asia. I wanted to stay longer! I will definitely be coming back!||The resort is stunning. The location is lovely, and every detail of the design fits the locale. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. ||The Japanese restaurant, Taba, was fantastic. I ate there 2 nights in a row just for the tuna! ||My ONLY complaint/suggestion would be to make the resort adults only. Screaming children really kill the relaxing vibe of this gorgeous resort. When you’re paying this much per night, you want to enjoy the sunsets and the pool and beach without screeching kids running around.

Our stay at TA’AKTANA was excellent from start to finish. While there was a minor miscommunication during the reservation process, Mr. Oman resolved it promptly and graciously upgraded us. We celebrated two birthdays during our stay, and the staff across the spa, restaurants, and gym were consistently attentive and thoughtful. Special thanks to our villa concierge Toni, who helped us plan each day and handled all the reservations smoothly. Most reviews cover the luxury experience well, so we won’t repeat those. But for triathletes, this resort offers something exceptional: a proper 50-meter lap pool, a well-equipped gym, and—surprisingly—a Cervelo bike (size 56) mounted on a Wahoo trainer with incline simulation and a balance board. It looks like the owner’s personal setup. So if you’re serious about training, bring your SPD-SL cycling shoes and chase that KOM. The spa also provides complimentary walk-in access for guests, including sauna, hot and cold plunge baths, and a powerful water jet spray for neck and shoulder recovery—great for post-training or winding down after a day out. The staff have clearly been trained to meet Marriott’s luxury hotel standards. All guest-facing team members spoke excellent English, making communication smooth and effortless. The stay was really about the experience—soaking in spectacular sunset views each evening and enjoying the attention to detail across every part of the resort. Highly recommended whether you're here to relax, celebrate, or train.

From the very first step off the plane, we knew this stay would be special. The hotel team greeted us right at the aerobridge with a warm smile, helped with our luggage, and escorted us to a spacious, comfortable car with chilled bottled water — a small gesture that instantly made us feel safe and cared for after a long journey. The arrival ceremony was such a unique welcome, and even the farewell during check-out had its own special touch — it felt like a heartfelt send-off rather than just leaving a hotel. Throughout our stay, the team surprised us in many thoughtful ways, turning each day into a little celebration and making us feel truly valued as guests. The complimentary ocean activities were a highlight — from the crystal-clear waters to snorkeling among schools of colorful fish, it felt like stepping into a vibrant underwater world. Back on land, every facility was in excellent condition, so there was nothing to worry about — just pure relaxation. The butler service was exceptional: always one message away, attentive without being intrusive, and ready to make things happen quickly. As a Platinum member, I felt the full warmth of the benefits — the kind of attentive hospitality that goes beyond points and perks. When I was younger, I chased value for money; now I seek comfort and peace of mind. This stay reminded me exactly why great service matters. If you want more than just a place to sleep — if you want to feel welcomed, cared for, and remembered — this is the place to be. I would gladly return, next time with my family, to experience it all over again.

A very wonderful stay at Ta'aktana. The resort was very well-designed and built with quality. The staffs are also the great assets of this property. We had the best service delivered by the butler assistants/coordinators. They always responded swiftly to my questions and requests via whatsapp. They also anticipated many of my needs. |We booked the private speedboat for the island-hopping trip from the hotel and our guide, Farhan, was the best!!! He's very attentive, knowledgeable and fun.|During our stay, we dined at Umasa and Leros, all the staffs were super warm and professional. The food tasted great. Special mention to Vincent, San, Bu Ranti. Will definitely recommend to our friends and family.

There aren’t enough words to raise up this hotel. It is beyond stunning and pure peace. The accommodations are only outshined by the people who are your hosts. You feel like family the minute you arrive with the welcome which is based on local Indonesian customs. All are so attentive to your every need. The food is beyond amazing and there are water activities that are complimentary with your stay! The pool is beautiful and everything is so unique! I cannot recommend it enough.

Where to begin, first off I have to say this is one of the most amazing resorts we have ever stayed at. Right from the airport transfer service by the hotel all the way to leaving the hotel. When we arrived we were greeted with a ceremonial tradition and then was introduced to our butler Nina. She was incredible and was always there to help and make this whole experience just amazing. We were driven to our room which we were nicely upgraded to a villa. This place was just massive and we didn't want to leave it was just so beautiful with the views and all the amenities. We ordered room service the first night as we got in late and the servers brought the food and it was still warm and set up our whole table and made it very romantic for us. The service there was amazing especially at the coffee roaster cafe by the water. Valerian was amazing we did a coffee tasting and he walked me through all the amazing coffee and just his knowledge alone was just mind blowing. The restaurant by the water was really good as well but was a disappointed as we didn't get our lobster which i was looking forward to. But Nina again made it very special for us by bringing a cake to celebrate our anniversary she is so sweet. The bar staff upstairs as well was so welcoming and just enjoyed talking with them and sharing their life with us. The restaurant for breakfast upstairs was amazing as you can order a la cart and even have some buffet if you like. I cannot say enough great things about this place, i just hope i can come back to it one day as i am truly missing the Labuan Bajo Experience. Thank you Ta'aktana for making this trip one unforgettable and most memorable life experience ever!
