The Best Negronis In London - London - The Infatuation

"Tabac is a moody little neighbourhood bar that everyone should know about but thankfully for our last-minute negroni needs, not everyone does. With exposed brick walls, a faux fireplace, and artisan cheese platters, this Kentish Town bar is low-key serving perfect no-nonsense negronis. Zero funny business, zero stress—just gin, Campari, vermouth, a sliver of orange peel, and a full glass of ice doing what they do best. The negroni is served in one of those ornate low-ball glasses that make you feel like you definitely finished reading that Marcel Proust novel and the intimate setting makes it our favourite spot for a negroni-fuelled date night." - heidi lauth beasley, daisy meager

The 9 Best Happy Hours In London - London - The Infatuation

"50% off between 4pm and 6pm every day A moody little bar in Kentish Town, Tabac is the kind of place that screams third date potential. As well as exposed brick, a faux fireplace, and artisan cheese platters, Tabac also has an excellent daily Happy Hour. Running out of work at 4pm for a half-price glass of merlot might not be your style, but the weekend is when that 50% off really comes in handy. The cocktails are seriously good and paying five quid for their excellent Negroni on a Saturday afternoon makes total sense to us. It’s one of the best in London." - heidi lauth beasley, sinead cranna

They don’t open wine next to you, you get directly the glass without knowing what you actually got served. Selection of wine is really not good quality. Most of them are between 3.6 to 3.8. I’d expect some good wines from a whine bar, that’s one job

Raw bacon served on our charcuterie board & told it wasn’t bacon 💀 We noticed during the end of eating our board that some of the meat looked unusual! We then came aware it was definitely raw bacon. We asked our server about it & she told us it was a specific piece of ham from France but after asking to speak to the manager, he clearly saw it was raw bacon and couldn’t apologise more & comped our meal, but still RAW BACON - so gross & we even tasted it. Horrifying. Obviously makes you question what’s going on in the kitchen. 🤢

Couple of thoughts on: 1- The staff were very nice and friendly. 2- The atmosphere is very good 3- Price is also reasonable 4- As for the food, I talked to my friends and we all agreed that the food wasn’t that good. The fire went off a couple of times with the fondu. My friend was frustrated a bit. I had a steak and the other friend had duck: all food tasted like they didn’t have any salt. Perhaps; the fries were very bad. I expect that you don’t order a steak that comes with a very low quality fries. All in all, the place is very nice, the staff is friendly, there is, however, some rooms for improvement when it comes to cuisine quality.

For the second year in a row I have celebrated my birthday at Tabac and as per it was flawless. I come with one or two friends often throughout the year to sit on the front terrasse which always offers the most immaculate atmosphere. For my birthday this year, my party of thirteen people was much larger, to which Tabac can perfectly accommodate in its private, warmly lit back garden. The area is covered thankfully as there was light rain on the day and is very well heated with heat lamps so none of us were sat outside in jackets on a February night! The food is always simple but classic and Tabac has one of the best, most extensive drinks menus in London. It is so diverse and good and I will never tire of the Languedoc Cabernet Sauvignon they offer! Really the best! Ailsa, our server for the evening, was just amazing. Super friendly, knowledgeable and fun; she is a superstar. Mei was also excellent and professional in dealing with booking the space for such a large party of people too! Overall, I cannot recommend Tabac more. It is a gem in London that I want to keep a secret all to myself but I cannot express to everybody how perfect the atmosphere and staff are here. It will never be long until I return to it again and again. Thank you for making my birthday so incredibly special! ❤️❤️

Had a great meal here, ordered the TRIO DE LA MER - Fillet of Hake, Crab Bonbon & Scallops on Seaweed & Samphire with a beurre blanc. One of the most enjoyable meals I’ve had recently in London. I also tried the duck which was also very good. They have a great wine list and very friendly and accommodating staff. Would highly recommend for dinner and drinks - all at a reasonable price particularly for the atmosphere.

We had the lunch menu and it was good value for money. Nice and hearty meal!

Good bistro vibe but would only recommend for drinks not for food. Unfortunately the wait time between an onion soup and the main was of 1h 5min!! When the mains finally arrived they were not that big and both taste and look was quite average. This was on a Monday night with only a couple of other patrons there. I don't even want to imagine how they cope on busy weekend nights. The wine menu was interesting though and they had a good selection.

Lovely sea bass and great french wine. A bit unwelcoming to receive you the bill without waiting for you to finish your wine glass or ask for the bill, so I found that a bit pushy. Minus one star for this attitude.
