"Located in the very heart of Salamanca’s historic quarter, just a few steps from the monumental Plateresque façade of the university featuring the famous sculpture of a frog (or is it a toad?) popular with tourists, this restaurant boasts a stylish setting with a classic-cum-contemporary feel. Based around seasonal ingredients sourced from around the province, the à la carte includes interesting international influences – the result of experience acquired by owner-chef Alberto Hernández in countries as diverse as China, Indonesia, Japan, Thailand, Mexico etc. Attractive set daily menu." - Michelin Inspector

Upmarket and out of the touristic restaurant streets. Two parts to indoor eating, the main restaurant and the bar side with high tables and comfortable bar seats for tapas. Opted for the tapas side and was extremely happy with the choices. Staff very professional and very happy to advise. I highly recommend this restaurant for a quieter experience away from the tourism. Very central.

Lovely lunch with fantastic staff! I had the egg plant and pork tenderloin and they were absolutely delicious. The Taberna is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The meal was well timed and staff was very attentive. It is an absolute must visit while in Salamanca 😍

So we had cycled into Salamanca therefore weren’t really dressed for the restaurant but availed of the tapas menu. The food was spectacular. 6 tapas. Generous size and excellent value. Pastas bravas - crispy delicious chunks of potatoes. Prawn tempura, calamari, beef, black pudding etc. all stunning. We’ve been travelling for over 2 months and this food was in our top 2 experiences. Friendly service. Thank you. If we were staying in Salamanca we would try the restaurant.

Wonderful food and service! They have the most beautiful plating of jamon! The risotto was amazing. We were warmly received and attended to by a young lady from Columbia. She was very professional and friendly. She showed genuine interest in our travels and culture. If I ever visit Salamanca again, I will certainly dine at this establishment.

Very good quality and reasonable prices. So there is a Michelin sign out front but no stars. The food was very good but not Michelin quality. The beef was a bit tough and the sauce was cold, tasty but cold. Maybe the sauce was supposed to be that way but it would have been better if it were warm IMO. The fish of the day way cooked nicely and the veg were as well. It was very tasty over all. The octopus soup was excellent as well as the eggplant and bean hummus appetizer. The staff were excellent and the atmosphere was tops as well.

A very average dining experience. At a restaurant that is Michelin listed, I really thought I was in for treat, but this was anything but. I had the fish and chips, and it was a little wet, and a little undercooked. At a restaurant like this I expect neither of these. The batter was decent, but not particularly flavoured in a way that would cause you to say "that's good". The fish was served with a creamy mayonnaise-type dressing that was very lightly flavoured, but didn't really add to the dish and I ignored it after a couple of bites. The fish was served with just a few chips, and these were tasty. Our waitress was fabulous, and frankly made our late lunch much better than the food did. The menu online lists the fish and chips at EUR 15, but the menu at the table is EUR 24. Having an out of date menu online is not acceptable.

Extremely positive experience. Very friendly staff with professional service at the same time. We ordered Risotto and Wellington. All the dishes have some individual touch from the chef which makes them a specialty of the restaurant. We asked the waitress if she had a candle, since it was our anniversary, and she said she doesn't think so but she would figure something out. What she prepared for us was simply beautiful, thank you for making our anniversary special!

We had the set menu (30€ in the week 35€ @ weekends) and the quality of the food was exceptional. Perhaps our favourite dish was the aubergine with goats cheese, but all were good. The service was faultless and the restaurant has a calm elegant atmosphere. We drank a Couple of glasses of Ribera del Duero, which were very good and inexpensive. There are a lot of cheaper menus in Salamanca, but it was well worth paying a bit extra.
