Taberna Tempranillo - Review - Barrio de La Latina - Madrid - The Infatuation

"Calle Cava Baja is one of Madrid’s best-known streets, packed with about 50 tapas places and bars. It’s overwhelming enough that you’ll be tempted to close your eyes, spin around, and head into whichever one you’re left pointing at. Don’t do that. Some of those places definitely aren’t worth your time - but Taberna Tempranillo is one of the best on the street, with high-quality, fresh food. You’ll find traditional tapas here such as duck thighs and grilled, salted artichokes - all of which pair nicely with one of the hundreds of domestic wines that line the back wall." - Cristina Shipe

Love their tapas but come early otherwise no seats! Get the langostinos al ajillo, the squid and foie gras pinchos, and revuelto de boletus. So yummy. Great wine selections.

great spot for drinks and tapas- the baby squid toast and quail toast were awesome, and can't miss the boquerones en vinagre. staff also really nice and interactive (esp if you speak spanish). gets very crowded around 9 pm, so go earlier if you want a seat at the bar, it's a smaller place

An amazing find! Small, busy and bustling with atmosphere! Great food, wine and no rush here. Lovely to sit with friends and enjoy everything you’re being served.

One of the better wine lists in the area, will be able to try a variety of Spanish wines. The squid pinchos here was excellent!

Three of us stopped by Taberna Tempranillo for post-dinner drinks and had a wonderful time. The atmosphere was very nice, service was good, and they had a great wine selection. We also appreciated getting a tapa with each drink. We didn’t eat dinner, but the menu looked delicious. We’ll definitely be back on our next visit to Madrid.

It is a restaurant run by a gentleman (no other servers when I visited), thus the wait for the food is a bit longer than normal. But with an empty stomach and a big appetite, the food was eve more delicious. I ordered one of the meat combination platter. The dish had a good amount spice that made my ears sing, full of spices! The food was def. Enough for me to fill my empty stomach. I would go there again!
