Where to Find the Best Halal Food in Orlando, Florida | Eater Miami

"Tabla’s brand of elevated Desi fare is now offered in three different locations across the city, but, no matter the locale, the fare consistently impresses. It’s hard to find soft-shell crab pakoras (a spiced fritter), Keralan-style mussels (mussels sauteed with ginger, garlic, and spices), or luscious paya served with lachha paratha (crispy flatbread) served anywhere else in the city. Plush lamb chops and a redolent palak gosht (spicy spinach masala curry) have been known to induce head wobbling." - Faiyaz Kara

Decided to try Tabla @ Lake Nona. Not sure if it’s just the culture maybe but it was poor service for me. Lack of greeting at the entrance. Once at the table we had to ask for water. Waiters don’t keep count of which table had already ordered. Other people dish being brought out to wring guests. AC super high food was cold immediately. The food in my opinion was nothing to crave about. The wait time for your food was over 40 mins They had the setting with the lighting warm for some type of intimate setting at about 9pm while your eating the light all turned on like you were at a football field. I wasn’t thrilled. They need more ventilation as while they add the pepper or curry everyone in the dining area started coughing up a storm. 😂

A Hidden Gem in Lake Lona – Absolutely Outstanding! Tabla Lake Lona is an absolute destination spot for Indian cuisine! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by Mehtab, the incredible floor manager. His energy, kindness, and involvement in every part of the restaurant blew us away. We got to “chaat” with him several times during our visit, and I must say—I absolutely fell in love with his enthusiasm and hospitality. We also had the pleasure of being served by Vikrant, who was equally impressive—knowledgeable, friendly, and made us feel right at home.Mehtab The Manager He Makes For Us Special Mocktail Rim Zim And Disco Melon. It Was Mind Blowing And Wonder Full Experience In Tabal And Best And Top Notch Service in HHM Industry By Mehtab The Manager.. Superb👌👌👌👌👌👌👌 I ordered the Malai Kofta (extra spicy), and WOW—it was hands down the best I’ve ever had. I've tried Malai Kofta across the U.S. and even in the UK, and nothing compares to this. My partner Wes had the Tabla Indian Cuisine Special Grill, and he couldn’t stop raving about it—tender, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully charred from the tandoori oven. To top it all off, Mehtab offered us a taste of their Ras Malai, and it was absolutely divine. This restaurant has not only won us over with its exceptional food, but its warm, attentive staff have captured our hearts. We’ll be back again and again. Dhanyavaad, Mehtab! 🥰😘

Outstanding Service from Mehtab! We had a wonderful dining experience, and a big part of that was thanks to Mehtab, our waiter. He was incredibly welcoming, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. He offered great recommendations and made sure we were comfortable throughout the meal without ever being intrusive. His warm and professional attitude truly enhanced our experience. You can tell he cares about both the food and the customer. If you’re visiting, definitely ask for Mehtab — he goes above and beyond to make your meal special. Highly recommended!

While looking for a lunch spot during my vacation in lake nona, Florida i found this Indian restaurant. The place looked very beautiful and elegant so I thought of giving it a try. As i entered i was quickly attending. The Waitress was very friendly. We ordered food and it arrived quickly. We had mango lassi which was sweet. For the main course we had shrimp curry, goat Vindaloo and lamb keema naan served with rice. The curries were delicious but the naan could be better. We also had mango bhel which was amazing. Chicken drumsticks which were very delicious. Chicken malai kebab which came Sizzling hot. And lemon coriander soup which was perfect for the chilly weather. We ended our meal with mango tiramisu and gulab Jamun créme bruele. The desserts were really good.

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! As someone who relies on a service dog, I truly appreciated how the staff was knowledgeable about ADA regulations and welcomed us without hesitation. The manager offered us a comfortable spot indoors, and made sure we were well taken care of. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was top-notch from start to finish. It was my first time visiting, and thanks to the great hospitality and respect shown, I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

Google
Definitely a different experience than a “traditional” Indian restaurant. Our service has always been wonderful as well as the dishes being delicious! My wife and I are fans of Indian cuisine and fine the menu unique and offering dishes differing from other establishments. I recommend getting medium of you’re looking for more flavor than heat!

Yelp
This restaurant has a great ambiance and had plenty of staff for some good service. They were very attentive and refilled our waters often. We ordered the gobi manchurian and it was very nice and crispy. The sauce was okay and a bit salty but still tasted good. I ordered the paneer makhani and my husband ordered the tikka masala lamb chops. Both our of curries were really good and very similar, we shouldve ordered something more different than each other to get a variety. The curry and the naan were also too salty for us but the spice level and flavors were on point. Overall, great restaurant and will probably be returning.

Yelp
Great Indian Food, But Skip the Thai Tabla offers a mix of Indian, Thai, and Chinese cuisines--but trying to do all three ends up hurting the overall experience. The Indian food? Excellent. The lime cilantro soup was a standout--bright, tangy, and full of flavor. We also had a mixed vegetable curry (need to double-check the name) that hit all the right notes with spice and depth. But the Thai dishes were a major letdown. The Pad Thai lacked that signature sweet-savory punch, and the Thai basil fried rice was soggy, bland, and oily. It felt rushed and unbalanced--like an afterthought on the menu. If you're craving Thai, this probably isn't the place. The space itself was calm and relaxing, and our server Mehtab was attentive and helpful throughout. If they focused solely on their Indian dishes, this place could be a solid go-to.

Yelp
usually go for the butter chicken at Tabla Indian Restaurant, but this time I decided to switch it up and ordered the chicken masala with garlic naan using an offline coupon--and I'm so glad I did! The flavors were rich and bold, and the naan was the perfect complement. To top it off, I had a chocolate samosa, which was a deliciously sweet ending to the meal. While butter chicken is still my go-to, this was definitely a great change.

Yelp
We had horrible service on Monday. We were brought happy hour menus and then were told there is no happy hour... then they tried to charge us for our drinks we never received. The food tasted great... when it finally arrived! I don't think we will be back.
google avatar

Paul G.

Yelp
Tabla has some great bread! You've got to try the garlic naan! The other naans are really good, but the garlic is my personal favorite. And the samosas are heavenly! You can't go wrong with those. For entrees, the butter chicken is really good! I recommend it for anyone who is unsure about trying Indian food. The lamb rogan josh is good if you like a slightly spicy tomato-based stew. I'm looking forward to trying more things from the lunch menu here.

Yelp
Friendly staff and the food is good. The Cilantro Lemon soup is tasty and light, with a nice tangy taste.

Yelp
We tried this restaurant for the first time in Orlando. We arrived a little earlier than our reservation and they seated us right away. The restaurant is inside a hotel. Service was good and ambiance is not bad either. It looks nice and clean. We ordered their grilled chicken tikka, chicken tikka masala and mixed vegetables special with garlic naan. Everything tasted good and we will return to try other items on the menu. See photos below.
google avatar

Yelp
Ever since the Yelp elite week event this has been on our rotation. We order it from door dash, we order it for pick up , and we eat in. The flavors are amazing, the garlic naan is literally to die for and everything is always fresh! Even via DoorDash we have had no problems. They package everything so great and it all shows up perfectly intact. The interior is elegant, but if I had to just make note of one thing it's that they should pay slightly more attention to the window sills. They are easy to miss and having worked in the restaurant industry I probably spend more time looking at details than the normal human. Tabla has great discounts for students and a rewards program with your phone number.

Yelp
We came here on a Saturday afternoon for lunch, we sat on the outside patio since we had our dog with us, the patio was shaded and we were promptly offered cold water which helps. Our server Kaushal was great, he explained some of the options available and even brought water for our dog. We ordered the vegetable Biriyani and Paneer Tikka Masala which was authentically prepared and so delicious, we also got gulab jamun and rasmalai at the end which was spot on. Our go to for restaurant for Indian food, we will be back.
google avatar

Sanea F.

Yelp
Such a nice interior place! Took my sister out for dinner and we truly enjoyed it. We ordered the butter chicken, lamb palace ghosht, butter Naan, garlic Naan, and the chocolate samosa. All of it was delicious. The chocolate samosa had too much coconut for my liking. Yet that's just me. Definitely will go here again!

Yelp
Tabla is a Destination spot for indian food in Lake lona. The floor Manger, Mehtab was absolutely outstanding. he was incredibly friendly and outgoing. This restaurant is an absolute gem. My first visit was for lunch with friends, we ordered several entrees and shared for a true dining experience enjoyed by us all. I was back for lunch a few days later, and it's fair to say I'm now a regular. Our server and manager for both occasions was Mehtab, his attentiveness is simply the best and this is true of their entire staff. We will Back soon.

Yelp
First the food. Tandoori shrimp was fabulous. Very tasty and properly cooked and seasoned. The shrimp and sauteed veggies were very fabulous. Also ordered a vegetarian dish with chic peas. The servers were pleasant. The restaurant was not busy on a Friday night but it was over 20 minutes until the food arrived at our table. I would return to try some of the other Indian dishes
google avatar

Yelp
Food was delicious if rightly customized. However, really strange thing happened for an upscale ambiance restaurant - they made heavily spiced paneer tandoori when the instructions were clear on mildly spiced and were repeated thrice and checked again when the item came to the table. It was extremely spicy instead. That's not all - when we complained the server took it back and said we will make another one. But we said " no need thank you as we have already a lot of food on the table". Another gentleman comes out of the kitchen and says "let us give you the replacement to go else we will have to void the item". This was so cheapskate. Of course we never asked for it to be voided but any decent restaurant worth half their salt would do so. We again said no need as we are traveling back to west coast but the guy kept insisting so we picked it up and dumped it right outside their restaurant when cleaning up the car rental for return. What a waste of $20 plus taxes. I still had to tip some just to be nice. Try some other branch of this restaurant please. Not this one.

Yelp
Stopped here directly after arriving from the airport. It was a cold and rainy night. Restaurant was not very busy. Inside is nice and clean. Restaurant has a separate vegan menu! We were very impressed. Food was made fresh and was very good. Kids loved the gobi manchurian. The Aloo gobi was nice.

Yelp
I love dining at Tabla. Mehtab gave us great service, and the food was delicious! I can't wait for my next time to have butter chicken and naan!!!
google avatar

Rachel T.

Yelp
Tabla has been one of the best restaurants to discover in the area. The food always comes out piping hot and there should be no limits on the amount of garlic naan ordered. My go to is the chicken tikka masala, spicy on the heat scale and they do spicy justice! To help combat the heat on this last visit I ordered a strawberry daiquiri. While the daiquiri served its purpose I probably wouldn't order it again as it seemed to be a bit too melty for my liking. On our visit it was pretty quiet inside, but a good amount of people coming in and picking up take out. The service has always been great and shoutout for the staff also taking care of the UberEats/Doordash drivers offering beverages during their wait. Big fan of Tabla!
google avatar

Esther M.

Yelp
Great calm environment. The food is delicious especially the tandoori chicken , paneer tikka and the Chana masala. Good portions. Lots of savory spices and fresh ingredients. The mix pakora was not greasy with deliciousness in the form of tamarind sauce for dipping
google avatar

Yelp
I *rarely* write poor reviews. I used Uber Eats to order channa masala. Food was 10000% spoiled. Even my 6 year old called it out. I called the restaurant twice left a VM no response. Uber Eats won't issue a refund because once you pick up food it's not their responsibility. If you're ordering channa masala tonight throw it out!

Yelp
We went to Tabla Lake Nona for my mom's birthday and have nothing but positives to say about the service and experience. First off, upon walking in, we were greeted with smiles and felt welcomed. The food was delicious! The garlic naan was fresh, abundant, and tasty! I ordered an Indo-Chinese dish with hakka noodles and my family ordered dishes like butter chicken and tikka masala. Everything was amazing! The ambiance was peaceful. It's exactly the vibe we were looking for. I definitely recommend this restaurant, especially this location.

Yelp
Food was AMAZINGGG THE service Kaushal WAS AMAZING OVER ALL Well recommend 100% Our first time trying out Indian food and we are definitely going to be regulars! The restaurant was super clean and very beautiful as well.

Yelp
It was delicious! We had the tikka masala, vindaloo, and garlic naan. Highly recommend checking this out!
google avatar

Yelp
Took my wife there last night. This is not a low class establishment. The food is delicious and gourmet. While a little bit higher price than your average local "Indian restaurant", Tabla takes it to the next level. My wife and I move down here from Irving Texas, which is known for its fantastic Indian restaurants, and this rivals anything we had up there.
google avatar

Yelp
Went here recently after seeing so much social media promotion of this place. It was my first time at Tabla and I surely believe it will be my last. Walked in here on a weekday around 7pm, service was very slow and not enthusiastic at all, it mostly seemed like the server was bother there were customers to attend. Other servers were eating and resting while we sat to wait to be served or at least offered drinks. I love Indian food and I'm very familiar with the flavor profiles of each dish as I've had it before at least 3 other Indian restaurants around town. The food here was underwhelming and poorly cooked and seasoned. Never have I ever had a sweet chicken tikka masala, it was inedible. The other plates were so poorly served with barely any meat in there just a whole bunch of heavy sauces. The only good food we had on our visit was the Garlic Naan and the Tandoori chicken. I wish it would've all been of this caliber but sadly it was not. It is a beautiful ambiance since the decor is so elegant but this place is not worth it for the price. I was pretty disappointed to convince my whole party to not to go another restaurant for trying Tabla and we all left equally disappointed.

Yelp
Consistently good food. I've tried the Pad Thai and Chicken Tikki Marsala. Excellent! The naan is great too!

Yelp
First time trying this franchise in lake Nona and it was great! My expectation was slightly different due to the mix reviews I've heard from family and friends. For this Friday evening dinner, it was a good time because it was empty and plenty of parking spaces nearby. This franchise is actually on the corner of a plaza so it's very easy to see and great spot. We loved the design inside out, and fairly clean all around which gave it a more nice presence. They were growing little bamboos inside as well on the ledge between tables which was pretty unique! Service was great and they had us seated fairly quick given we had a reservation and it was empty for the most part. Our server was quick and gave us his best options and recommendation which made the process even smoother. Tonight we ordered a couple of things , but my favorite dish was definitely the mango chicken which comes with a sweet and savory sauce infused with the chicken and it was amazing! Best pair in my opinion is the Freshly brewed ice tea. If you're in the area, this place is a must if you're feeling some spice and Indo-Chinese food.

Yelp
Came back and brought the family with me. We got chicken curry, chicken vindaloo both was great and perfect heat. We also got orange sauce chicken for the kids. I have to say that dish was very tasty, only issue would be not enough chicken. The sauce nice and sweet with that orange flavor. My son got the pad Thai and a chicken mango dish. The pad Thai was unique, first bite was hmm then you needed another and another. The flavor is different from Thai's pad thais, we all enjoyed it. The mango chicken he like it. I took a bite and sweet with that mango flavor. My finance got the chicken tikka Marsala, she enjoy it but I didn't take a bite. All of us enjoyed the garlic naan. Service was great. Kaushal was our server and he was great. He recommended the mango chicken. This was my 2nd time there and will come back again. It's tied for #1 Indian in tow

Yelp
The tabla is one of my favorite mystical instruments. Its ability to change tone makes it much more than just a drum. This Tabla Indian Restaurant in Lake Nona also can serve two other Asian styles of food to their Indian cuisine. In addition to great Indian food, they also have a small Thai and Chinese menu selection. We didn't try these other styles during our first visit there. We'd been craving really good Indian food for a while now and the few places we'd tried were just OK but didn't impress us. So, the first thing we wanted to do was try an initial sampler and our server, Praveen, was very helpful in explaining the menu layout. We wanted to try their naan offerings and were surprised to see an incredible 15 styles of their Naan/Bread offerings! From this large list, we got started with the garlic naan and were not disappointed. Take the best freshly grated garlic bread you've ever had and transfer the garlic and butter to a pillowy crisp, bubbly, naan. Totally amazing and perfectly done. We got the TABLA'S MIX GRILL: And assortment of thick charred Paneer Tikka, Chicken Tikka, Malai Methi Kebab, Lamb Seekh, Fish Tikka (salmon), and Tandoori Shrimp. Everything came out sizzling hot and with a side of mint dipping sauce. The (chicken as it turns out) Malai Methi Kebab was probably the most different of the meats with a coating marinade of yogurt, masala, fenugreek spices, and much more was tender and different in a good way. All the meats were pretty moist and tender, with just the right amount of heat and tremendous flavor. We also had the LAMB BIRYANI: a saffron-flavored Basmati Rice cooked with large cubes of Marinated Boneless Lamb, and Fresh Herbs and spices. We had this medium-spicy and were very happy with the full rich flavors and just enough heat to make this one of our favorites. All in all, we had enough to not have room for dessert, even though they have one of my favorites, RASMALAI! We will need to come back again and again to get through this enormous menu. Oh! And they allow you to order online too with a 35-40 minute pick-up time! Needless to say, this is just the first of many visits.

Yelp
We had such a delicious Indian feast. The manager Kaushal was so helpful in making suggestions on what we needed to try! They had a couple of amazing deals including the $30 'Magical Feast' menu which comes with the Chef Special Soup, a choice of an appetizer, choice of an entree, and the Gulab Juman Brûlée. This really gets you a decent amount of food for such an amazing price. They also have a buy one in restaurant and get one free takeout Biryani offer. Everything was incredible and their naan was something else. Check it out if you haven't! They have four locations so head to your closest one! Drinks: - Mango Lassi - Lychee Martini - Taj Beer - Mango Mule Food: - Gobi/Chicken Manchurian - Mixed Pakora - Mulligatawny - Chicken Tikka - Tabla's Homestyle Goat Curry - Chicken Biryani - Indian Chinese Hakka Noodles - Garlic Naan - Cream Cheese Naan Dessert: - Cassatta Ice Cream - Chocolate Samosa - Mango Tiramisu

Yelp
Was here with friends for an event! I can't wait to return with my husband and son, and share on the delish cuisine plates we were offered for tasting. I now want to visit the other locations too... First - my impression of this Tabla location. Crisp, fresh, light and inviting. It is quite casual, yet elegant so it makes for a great date night. (And amazing bright pictures) My favorite dishes were the vegetable pulav rice and the butter chicken! I am pretty sure I can get used to this chicken nightly and put on ANYTHING. It was tender, flavorful, not spicy and DIVINE. I am also a huge fan of the spinach-cheese dish (Saag paneer.) Chicken korma was a bit more on the spicy side, but nothing unmanageable! Last but not least - DESSERTS! Both the gulab jamun brulee and the mango rasmalai are highly recommended. Ohhhhh - and don't forget their delicious hot chai tea to end the eve. Goes perfect with both (any) desserts. Thank you Tabla for such a great evening.

Yelp
As my girlfriend & I was doing some last minute shopping around the area, we stumbled across this place and decided to give them a try. First off the Rogan Josh with the boneless lamb were amazing it was just so full of flavor, only thing I should've ask for a much higher spice level lol. Only thing they that sucks was that they don't give you a lot of meat that really caused a star rating but I definitely recommend. I don't know if the service was just good because there were not a lot of people inside the resturant or they just have great service lol, I guess I'll just leave it at good service lol. I don't know what the host name who took the order but he was great and very knowledgeable about the menu, he actually recommended the Rogan Josh boneless lamb so shouts out to him. The ambiance of the place was definitely 10/10 like when I walked in it was just so pretty and Christmas ready, looked like a place for a romantic date with you and your significant other. The tables and everything were set up to perfection. Definitely recommend going to this place for some good Indian food.

Yelp
What a night. We had a feast. The manager Kaushal helped us ordering. He recommended amazing selections of dishes that we experienced at the Tabla restaurant. Never tried Indian fusion but it is delicious. The Lemon Coriander and Mulliga Tawny soups are very good. The Mixed Pakora is my favorite appetizer. It's like having perfectly cooked crispy tempura from a Japanese restaurant. For the main course, my favorite dish was Tabla's home style curry with goat in bone. The tender meat falls off the bone. The dessert Chocolate Samosa with ice cream is a must. Every single dish that we had was just amazing. It was definitely an upscale Indian food experience with a nice vibe.

Albert M.

Yelp
Good tikka masala, very nice service, peaceful environment. Would recommend! Solid food options available.

Yelp
My family and I had a great experience here! Thank you Kau for being so informative and attentive! Kau took the time to show up how to eat a plate correctly. The food was delicious; full of flavor. The place is clean and it's a causal attire. This was my first time trying Indian food and I'm pleased with the decision of choosing Tabla.

Yelp
I love to eat food from other cultures. I recently got into Indian food about 4 years ago. Tabla is a spot I like to visit for great Indian food. This was my first time to their new location in lake Nona. It's so nice inside and the staff is great. Everyone was friendly. I had the butter chicken and garlic naan. Those are usually my go too. And they also offer alkaline water which I thought was cool.
google avatar

Sophie B.

Yelp
This place is amazing! It's not just Indian food, they also have other Asian foods too! My favorite dish is the lotus roots, they are incredible! The service is very nice and food doesn't take too long. This place is great!

Yelp
This was our first time at this Indian restaurant and my husband and I were looking forward to some good food. First when we walked in the person who seated us didn't seem enthusiastic about seating us. As the first person/face people see at the restaurant when walking in that kind of greeting was lackluster. We were seated right away next to the corner window near the front. Decor of the restaurant was nice but parts were dirty. I sat next to the window and there was dust on the window sill with a dead fly. I couldn't even get comfortable leaning into the window to look outside. Waiter seemed nice but I could barely hear him talking as he was speaking so quietly. The food was good but overpriced. We weren't impressed with our experience.
google avatar

Yelp
I love Indian food and I was very happy to have this place close to where I live. Very tasty food and the seasoning is not even mentioned. I highly recommend it!

Yelp
Absolutely phenomenal experience! The service was incredible & so friendly. And the food!!!!!!!! So amazing. I had the chicken korma and my husband had the madras with the cream cheese and garlic naan , it was so good we ordered more to go for later. While we waited for our Togo, they brought us dessert that was just unbelievable. I want to thank the staff for such a great experience and congratulate on a job so well done. Price was extremely fair too.

Yelp
We decided to stop in at Tabla last night randomly and I am so glad we did! The food and service were both so great. Samosas are one of my favorites so we started with those. They were such a great flavor and so fresh. We loved them & their accompanying chutneys. For dinner we shared the Tabla Curry and I totally foodie failed here. It smelled and looked so good we dug in and I didn't get a good photo! Trust it was delicious though. We asked for spicy and it was the perfect heat. We also got a side of roti which was the perfect accompaniment. For desert our server Praveen- who was excellent, thank you so much, Praveen- recommended the Gulab Jamun and they were soooo good. My favorite of our two deserts! They were such a great texture and the honey sauce was perfect. We also did the Chocolate Samosa which was great. It was warm, chocolatey, and the ice cream with it was excellent. We can't wait to go back for sure!

Yelp
My fiancé and I just moved here and we were looking for a new Indian restaurant to come to regularly. Tabla was the perfect dinner spot with a large amount of vegan options. Kay was also amazing and very kind! 10/10 recommend

D A.

Yelp
Why would anyone pay$10 for$10 off their meal? So do we just ignore the$20? There is no benefit to pay$10 for a coupon and be rewarded with$10 discount. Makes no logical sense. The coupon is worthless at this point. Stop typing off your customers. It won't go well for your business reputation. I paid 10$ to have$20 removed from final bill.
google avatar

Melanie D.

Yelp
Establishment looks very clean. Most of our food was pretty good. I had the Chicken Vindaloo, which he warned me was very spicy-it was not.. but still very good flavor. The garlic naan was also delicious. I also had the Palak Chaat appetizer, that was pretty good. I'm giving 3 stars because although the servers we nice, you had to flag them down to get service. They barley came back to check on you..it was not busy at all. The mango tiramisu we had was served frozen. And the chai tea was HORRIBLE. It didn't taste like chai at all, but more like dirty dishwater.

Yelp
First note they close for lunch...But let me tell you about the great service and Yummy Food. We ordered Chicken Tikki with Nann bread ...it came with rice ...enough food for 2 and we took home with extra delicious Nann . The restaurant was clean , lovely colors and dining. Note it was not too spicy at ALL....well flavored.

Yelp
Great lunch at Tabla today. Started with the palak ke phool for our app. Then got the vindaloo ghost and lamb basmati. Both were delicious. Definitely add the garlic naan!!! Tried rasmalai for dessert. Also enjoyed wonderdul lychee martini. Service and food were wonderful! Highly recommend. Will be back!

Yelp
My second time eating Indian flavors, I have to say, this is the most amazing combination of flavors, indulging, between, spicy, sweet and grill flavors of the meat. The place and the music on the back is calm and peaceful. Also we had Shruti serving us, she definitely recommend us plates and assert each one of them! Lychee martini was delicious.

Yelp
I was hesitant about trying this place out given the mixed reviews during soft open phase. Even more so because I was trying to go with a large group on a weekend evening. When I called ahead the manager said they wouldn't have an issue accommodating us, and was up front about the limited menu they were serving during soft open, which included most of the Indian fare and none of the Indo-Chinese fare. Was seated immediately and the waiter/manager Kaushal checked on us frequently while we perused the options and awaited the rest of our group to trickle in. Quick shoutout to Kaushal for being a great asset to this location--he seems genuinely dedicated to making the experience better. He also let us know of a prix fixe three course lunch for $15.99, actually very reasonable especially for this area. We ended up choosing the Bhalla Papdi Chaat, Mixed Pakora, Pani Poori, Garlic Naan, Chicken Vindaloo, Chicken Biryani, Tabla's Homestyle Curry with lamb, and Chaap Masala. The food came out as it was ready at a good pace. We ordered all the main dishes as medium spicy and it honestly was a little too spicy for me (I am a 2-3 stars level at Thai restaurants kind of gal). While I normally don't fault a restaurant for this, the gripe I have is that one of our party had dined here earlier and a medium wasn't as spicy last time--the inconsistency is something that should be worked on prior to the grand opening. Despite the heat level, the flavors were complex and the presentation was well done. A couple of us in the group had dined at other Tabla locations and it appears the quality and taste is on par with those established restaurants--definitely a good sign! The prices are definitely higher than what I'm used to for Indian fare but if you reserve a restaurant like this for a nicer meal/special occasion, your expectations will be properly set. The variety it provides is definitely welcome in the Lake Nona area.

Yelp
I really enjoy this restaurant and they have authentic and delicious food. We recently got butter chicken for the meal and from a layman it was absolutely delicious. I also order some chicken curry extra spicy, Indian spicy, and that was a mistake, even though it was a mistake It still tasted delicious flavors and would order from again
