Under moss-draped oaks in Midtown, Table 23 serves polished takes on Southern staples—think sweet tea–brined pork chops and pecan old fashioneds. Honored with a Golden Spoon by Florida Trend, it’s beloved for warm service and porch dining.

I went here 08/09 for my anniversary. The food came out fresh, tasty and fast. Our server Jovana B. was so sweet and quick even letting us know something was missing and bringing it to us before we noticed. Thank you, definitely coming back !

Google
The service from our waitress Lilly was amazing. She's knowledgeable of the menu and spot on with recommendations! The food was pretty amazing, we sat in the back corner by the fireplace, but we had to fight the occasional fly because it's almost by the back door to outside dining, lol! The atmosphere was a little dry, and multiple people stared as tho we were on display as opposed to their own! The 23 Burger was cooked to perfection, as well as the herb crusted chicken... We spent around $130 which was worth it to me for two people! I'd come back again probably with a different seating area, and less wasabi on my Blackened Tuna appetizer which the heat of it can totally sneak up on your taste buds mixed with the Bobby's iced tea drink, will fire up the ole mouth🥵🤭

If you’re in town and looking for some good food you gotta try Table 23. Perkins was the best! Very friendly and attentive. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was just as good. The covered deck had fans and was nice even on a hot June afternoon.

Google
Table 23 is a Tallahassee restaurant staple and it showed its glory during my experience! I ordered the Gulf Grouper with grits instead of corn and my visitor ordered the brisket tacos. Everything was very flavorful and delicious! The only improvement I have is the service. Our service was very subpar. We didn’t receive refills, bread requests, etc. in a timely manner but the larger party next to us did. We would appreciate that all tables regardless if they’re 2 people or 10 have the same service. Other than that, couldn’t be better!

Google
My husband and I have been wanting to try this place. The only downside was that we had to wait almost an hour on a Friday night. However, we attempted to get a reservation earlier that day but they were already full! I got the redfish and it was so good! My husband got the coffee rubbed ribeye and he said the steak was good but it was unevenly cooked. We also got the house made chips as an appetizer and those were ridiculously good. However, those that like a quiet dinner, this is not the place for you! We couldn’t even get to the bar there were so many people, and it gets quite loud in there. The environment was fun and relaxing. The porch was where everyone wanted to be, so we were fine with our table inside, when though the weather was amazing. Overall, I would recommend but make a reservation in advance to avoid wait times.

Google
Our waiter park AKA Perkins was amazing. His eyes will look in your soul and he smells really good. He doesn’t even write down the order that’s how good he is.

Google
The food was amazing. The service out of this world, good authentic home style cooking. Would recommend this to absolutely anyone we have two kids, and they enjoyed it as well.

Google
I had such a great experience at Table 23! The deviled eggs were absolutely yummy — the perfect start to the meal. I also tried the beet salad, which was super fresh and flavorful. But what really stood out was the top-notch service. Everyone was warm, welcoming, and attentive from start to finish. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Very good place. This is my 2nd visit. We went there Friday afternoon during hh, had to wait 45 minutes. It was packed. But bar had a few seats, so the wait was ok. They only have car valet. Service - was excellent and very prompt, despite being packeted. Ambiance- very nice, old southern mansion style. The have the whole building. Food - we both had the Prosciutto Wrapped Filet, Pittsburg rare, and they were excellent. The wine was plentiful and very reasonably priced.

Yelp
Did a solo dinner here last night and overall found it just ok. The spot has a nice ambiance - very chill. But as others have mentioned, every dish is excessively salty and nothing stood out. I got fried pickles, the southern plate with fried catfish , and a key lime pie. The fried pickles were good and had a generous serving but the catfish was just way too salty.

Yelp
We had a family event here for brunch. It was not as good as I remembered it being. I had chicken and waffles. There was nothing special about it - at all. Average .... We ordered biscuits but they were special at best, as well. There is nothing that was memorable at this meal. I can pass on brunch in the future.

Yelp
We chose Table 23 over Chuck's Fish house thinking there would be more on the menu for my picky brother to eat. I made the reservation for inside and they tried to seat us outside. Also, I made it for 5:00 and was told we would have to finish by 6:30. We were seated inside and promptly greeted by our waiter. We both ordered the Gulf grouper topped with shrimp and crab over creamed corn. The chef's veggie was succotash. I asked them to make my brother's food so that it wasn't stacked or touching. (Some people don't like their food mixed). His came out in separate bowls. The grouper was "fishy" tasting and the shrimp and crab topping with the lemon butter sauce was just OK. I ordered a side of macaroni and cheese which was the best thing we ate that night! The ambience inside was nice but the acoustics did not buffer a group of happy partiers at the table behind us. It is already on my calendar to come back for a party in a couple of weeks and I won't order the grouper again. I got sick from the leftovers the very next day. I really wanted to enjoy this meal but the freshness of the fish, the topping and the succotash was not a success. I will add, it was the weekend the students returned to school. I'll write another review in a couple of weeks.

Yelp
Was looking for a place with a bar & good food and voila!! This place was great!! The food, the drinks and the friendly service! I could have order the whole menu, but went with the fried green tomatoes and the turkey sandwich! Blake was a great server / bartender!!! Highly recommend this place next time you are in Tally!!

Bonnie S.

Yelp
Great service! Loved the outdoor patio atmosphere. Cats & pups was deliciuos, as was the key lime pie
google avatar

Yelp
The service, the food, the drinks and the atmosphere are nothing special and overpriced. I can make a better meal at home sadly because when we dine out we want a chef that cares to serve their customers something divine. With a valet type service you would think the meal would fair better than Olive Garden. However, I would say comparable lol.

Yelp
Table 23 was an unexpected restaurant experience that offers up cuisine that presents and tastes like a fine dining establishment with the ambiance and feel of a laid-back bar. My family had a reservation for 6pm. While we sat and waited, people arrived after us without a reservation and were sat immediately inside. When I called the day before, I was told there was only 1 table available outside on the patio. The entire evening, there were multiple tables outside that were empty. This restaurant advertises sophisticated southern food. Which they did have, kind of. We scoped out the menu ahead of time and were really interested in their handhelds. However, this evening, they decided not to offer their more affordable menu options since it was a grad weekend in Tallahassee. Not sure on the logic there except to limit people to only pricier plates. We were disappointed and had to reevaluate the menu. We started with an appetizer of fried pickles. Crunchy, tangy and hit the spot. This was the most southern dish of the night for us. For dinner, I went with the hand cut filet for $49. My wife got a chicken dish and both my parents got the Gulf Grouper dish. My dad and I also ordered $11 4 Roses pours on the rocks. The 4 Roses pours were not done by someone that knows how to pour drinks. They dumped half a glass of crushed ice into the whiskey. It made it extremely watered down and they charged us $15.50 a piece! The food was excellent. My steak was buttery soft. Cooked as ordered, medium-rare, plated beautifully with 4 asparagus spears and a small pile of potatoes. My wife's chicken was also good, a grilled fillet with citrus and sweet potatoes. My parents enjoyed their grouper which also had a nice presentation. A decent sized piece of fish topped with shrimp and crab that my dad said didn't stand-out. He did however, mention the corn salad on the side. It was tasty. With a small identity crisis on their hands, Table 23 is a bar and relaxed place to eat, serves small portions at high prices that you'd expect at a high-end restaurant but still provides the service and ambiance of a place that should charge half the price. Our $200 bill for 4 people seemed steep for what we got. If I ever consider dining here again, I'd call first to ensure they are offering their full menu. (That wasn't mentioned when I made my reservation.)

Yelp
I love the outdoor dining area and the food is always great! The staff is friendly. I haven't had a bad meal here. Sunday brunch is may favorite.

Yelp
It was worth the wait and lived up to its hype. We've only lived here 7 months and this restaurant has been on our radar. Honestly we've been quite disappointment in most restaurants we have given a chance here in Tally. While approaching the entrance, which was cascaded by beautiful fig trees, my husband looked at me and chanted, "please be good, please be good." We sat on the patio which was beautiful, I didn't see anything that led me to believe any of the seating wouldn't be stunning. Our waitress was kind, soft spoken and attentive. My husband ordered the special, which was displayed on the table, Spinach blend covered Red Snapper over a bed of mashed potatoes with chefs veggies (squash & zucchini). I ordered the shrimp and crab topped grouper dish. It was served over a corn medley with the chefs veggies. Both were served with a butter based cream sauce which was an added delight. This girl loves all the sauces. He had a maple pecan old fashion and I had a spicy pineapple margarita. Both drinks were tasty, his was super smooth. We ended the evening with the bread pudding. Can I just say we are very skeptical when ordering bread pudding because we have a favorite at a restaurant in Mobile and most don't compare but let me just say, although this BP was so different from our favorite it was delectable. Overall our experience was impressive and we will be revisiting T23.

Yelp
The experience was good for the large party of people that were in attendance. The waitress was accommodating and patience. The food was good and I ordered shrimp n grits without mushrooms (not a fan). I give it a 8/10. More shrimp would have been nice however it was a good amount for the price.

Yelp
Amazing food, service, and their house Chardonnay was my Dad's go to. We were visiting FSU for our daughter and cheers to my dad as he passed one year ago today.

Yelp
Good American food. This is my husband's favorite restaurant in Tallahassee. It is nice to have the outdoor dining experience.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant, lovely atmosphere, good wine, great food, and great service!! Wonderful place to catch up with a friend!
google avatar

Yelp
Service was average. The whole restaurant is really charming. The food, biscuits were a bit dry and not enough apple butter, I will recommend a bigger serving dish or a couple more ramekins of the butter. Sticky buns were great, crab cakes, the cake was 90% bread and the rest the mix and shredded crab. Need it seasoning as well. Chicken and waffles do not come even close to the picture on google, and the taste was ok. The filet great idea, I will try to figure out how not to overcook the steak but overall very good. Shrimp and grits, Oh! This is where it's at, that was full of flavors. This is why they got a 4, I do think you have to try this place a few times, the kitchen had a rush just at opening time, it's hard to make perfection when you're that busy.
google avatar

Yelp
We drove into town to take our FSU son out for a nice dinner for his birthday. His roommates recommended this place. The food was very good! Our server seemed a little distracted as we didn't see hm much but overall, we would come back.

Yelp
Another great food spot in Tallahassee. I enjoyed coming here for Sunday brunch. I enjoyed the ambiance as I was sat in an area that's "outdoors" but not really. On a chilly day, you'll feel all the cool breeze and you bite into any delicious dish you order. I definitely enjoyed the avocado toast. On the day I visited, service was slow but worth the wait.

Yelp
Visiting Tallahassee for work and decided to try this place for a to-go meal. I sat at the bar to order my food to go and ordered a drink while I waited, but loved the outside patio space and atmosphere so I decided to stay and enjoy my meal there. Had A Dirty Gentleman (dirty martini), the grouper meal (subbed grits and Brussels sprouts), and an old fashioned. Everything was so delicious, the bar staff (Morgan) was great, and I met a sweet couple at the bar to chat with. Will be back for sure!

Yelp
The food was fantastic, the drinks were incredible, and the restaurant itself is gorgeous. The lights on the trees outside created a magical atmosphere. I had the southern tea cocktail, which was refreshing and exactly what I needed. I ordered the herb crusted chicken for dinner, and it came with rice pilaf, bacon Brussel sprouts, and honey mustard sauce. The grilled pineapple on top of the chicken was the perfect sweet addition to this savory dish. I was here with a large group, and the service was fantastic. Our waiter was patient and attentive and made sure our glasses were full. We ordered a ton of the appetizers, and they were all funky southern twists. So good!

Yelp
Really cute spot for brunch in Tallahassee. We didn't have a reservation but went when they first opened so were seated quickly. There are beautiful chandeliers hanging over the bar. There is complimentary valet parking but the lot fills up very quickly so you want to get there early. We started with the pecan & bourbon soaked raisin sticky buns. It came with 3 on the dish for a great price. These were bigger than we anticipated and were quite filling. I had the crab cake Benedict which was delicious. It was served on a biscuit and with a side of home fries. My friend was able to sub the truffle tots for one of her sides so we were able to try them abs they were worth it! The server was super polite and we were waited on quickly. Overall great experience.

Yelp
Loved the vibes in this place. Great menu, great service and delicious food. I will definitely come again next time I'm in Tally.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing food love the outside patio it's so pretty! Got to go here during fsu parents weekend and it was the perfect spot
google avatar

Yelp
Great ambiance and food. Best of both worlds: calm = inside seating or party mode = outside seating. The fried pickles and wings were delicious. Shrimp And grits was straight outta Louisiana. Bacon wrapped meatloaf was also delish. We tried a few cocktails and they were all delicious too. Servers and bartender was very nice too. Favorite part was all the food came out hot.

Yelp
Stopped here for dinner after seeing the great Yelp reviews. However, my experience wasn't so good and I suspect this place is very overrated. Nearly everything we ordered was completely unimpressive and overpriced. We're used to paying more for food in the Palm Beaches and this food didn't stack up. The deviled eggs were puny and totally boring. The hummus was "rustic" and bland. Not sure if that's the normal consistency, but it was nearly chunky. I'm addition, the carrot sticks weren't well cut - some still had unpeeled bits/ends and some were practically slivers which were large enough to dip. The entrees were not much better. Brisket tacos seemed expensive for two small, sloppy servings that dripped all over the placed. The trout was fine, but they served it with were clearly canned green beans. For real - $30 fish entree that they can't make with fresh beans and instead insult you with off-color, mushy, gross canned green beans as the accompaniment. Worse yet perhaps, is that we waited nearly 20 minutes for a sticky and wet high top table next to the bar. That was first available seating and I probably would have dined elsewhere had I know that was what I was airing for. On the other hand, our server Hunter, was very friendly and efficient. Zero complaints about his service.

Yelp
This spot is perfect for a brunch with friends but not ideal if you're looking to get tipsy. The drinks were cute but lacked alcohol. The coffee had a nice presentation, but it wasn't hot; it was clear it had been microwaved (the cup and handle were hot), even though we were told the wait was due to a fresh pot being made. The food choices were limited but good. The beet salad, while a bit messy and risky for my white shirt, was the standout. My friends loved the grits and the chicken and waffles, which were hot and flavorful. The smoked salmon dish felt like it was missing something, though I couldn't pinpoint what. May have been the temperature of the salmon since the cold dish was served on a very hot plate.

Chuck P.

Yelp
Very nice server. As far as food...meatloaf was dry. Literally 2 tablespoons of mashed potatoes. The "warm" cookie dessert was a rock hard, cold cookie with mediocre ice cream. The crème brûlée was like chunks of jello.

Bobby S.

Yelp
Tonight we ate at Table 23 and is was pretty good. The ambiance was noisy but place was full so that was understandable. Being so full slowed service but our waiter was pleasant and tried to be efficient. The food was fantastic, my wife had trout and I had the braised chicken, collards and Mac and cheese! We will return, we visit occasionally and enjoy the consistency of quality. Thanks for providing such a nice restaurant to dine.

Yelp
The food was great. The service was great. The restaurant is really nice inside and a great deck. Highly recommend!!

Yelp
Yes yes yes Sat at the bar on an early Saturday evening. It filled quickly. Great staff and recommendations. Got the pimento guac to start. Then the chicken fingers. All delicious. Not to mention the bourbon mule essentially was fantastic. 10/10 would eat and do again.

Yelp
Thank you Lily and kitchen staff for the wonderful service, food, and hospitality! Everyone has their idea about where to go for Shrimp and Grits, but this is where I had them over 3 years ago. I finally got back to Tallahassee for business again, and I had to order them as I remember them being so good! And they were ah-mazing! I'm so happy right now! Squeeeee!!! Also - I love when restaurants add on the menu to buy the kitchen staff a round of beer! Working in a kitchen is hard work, and they deserve it!
google avatar

Gladys L.

Yelp
Table 23 never seems to disappoint. It's always a great atmosphere , food is great and drinks are tasty. Staff is friendly and accommodating. And very patient. I only wished all their heater would "right now covered" outside area more so it's less cold sitting there during the cold season.

Migdalia R.

Yelp
I'm visiting Tallahassee and came upon this restaurant. Wonderful waiter and fantastic food! I definitely recommend it!
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent food, excellent service and excellent vibe! The outside bar is amazing (fully covered) and the bar tenders are top-notch, serving up outstanding beverages.
google avatar

Phoebe G.

Yelp
Came for brunch and was very happy with whole service! it was fast and everything was hot and tasty. really liked the bacon in BLT and sticky honey buns where so good they disappeared before i could get a picture. Overall very nice place to come for a brunch. Only suggestion would be more beverage options at breakfast. They have no milk alternatives and no coffee selection on the menu. But other than that great establishment!
google avatar

Chris W.

Yelp
Cool little Sunday funday stop for a boozy brunch. The bartenders were great outside helping us not order the wrong drink.

Scotty B.

Yelp
Table 23 is below Mid at best. Rolls were small and probably frozen. Spinach dip was pretty good but don't give me pita crumbs to scoop with. Southwestern egg rolls were not warm and were below average. 2 coffee rubbed rib -eyes were full of fat and undercooked Hard pass on 23!

Kay M.

Yelp
Setting is good for outside seating totally casual, plenty of fans. Nice Service was good. No problem The food??? We went for brunch. And I was not impressed with the food at all I had biscuits and gravy 2 egg Had to dig around a doughy biscuit to find two bits of sausage totally lacked flavor. Eggs covered in gravy and wellllll My husband breakfast was. Just say it wasn't. Would I give them another try probably but not for breakfast

Yelp
This place is a really good area to start off the night. It was busy because students were graduating but the waiter was fast and efficient and attentive. The parking is only valet but they vale to people are nice and do not hound you for tip. They accept Venmo as well which was nice. The food was amazing too. I got the meatloaf wrapped.

Steve F.

Yelp
We look for solid brand work in a restaurant. We knew nothing of Tallahassee. Table 23 is a great pic. This is a great synthesis of design, menu, pricing, portions and service. Very well done and could compete anywhere in the mid market niche. Well done and good food! No hesitation to recommend or return..

Crystal S.

Yelp
Granted it was Christmas Eve so we will overlook inattentive staff but the food. It was marginal at best. Have to say I will not be going back there for dinner. Maybe drinks but not dinner.
google avatar

Yelp
Since my stepson started attending FSU last year, we've been trying out many different restaurants in Tallahassee. I would say Table 23 is our favorite so far. Four of us dined here on a Friday night and we all enjoyed our meals. We started out by sharing the Gorgonzola chips and the spinach dip. The chips were homemade and very good with melted cheese on them. For entrees, we all went with steak. Three of us had the special, sirloin topped with Gorgonzola butter. It was delicious! The place is also very easygoing when it came to swapping side dishes. Whether you're dropping kids off at FSU or just looking for a nice restaurant in Tallahassee, give Table 23 a try. Just make reservations in advance because the place was packed.
google avatar

Pierre F.

Yelp
We truly love Table 23! The food, staff, atmosphere etc ! Just a wonderful place to Wine down and enjoy!

Kath G.

Yelp
We came in to celebrate on 12/28/24 and the waitress was really nice and tried to be attentive but she was also very busy. It was crowded. The food was delicious, but expensive. When the guy in our party had to leave before paying, I was stuck with paying and didn't have enough to cover a full tip. The waitress was gracious and forgiving, which I appreciated. I would eat there again.

Melinda B.

Yelp
We had a fantastic dinner last night. To start, we had the perfectly prepared coconut shrimp and then I enjoyed the delicious grouper dish served on freshly made cream of corn, with asparagus on the side. My husband ordered the prosciutto-wrapped filet with mashed potatoes, which was prepared to perfection. To end the meal, we got the flourless pecan brownie to go.
google avatar

Shawn V.

Yelp
Wow - where to begin? We decided to try this place while in town and we were not disappointed! First - the fact that the restaurant was very busy on a Monday night speaks volumes. The staff was very friendly and informative. For appetizers we tried the Gorgonzola Chips (homemade chips, bacon, Gorgonzola cheese) and they were amazing. The homemade chips were great and you got multiple flavors in every bite. We also tried an order of wings (half Buffalo hot and half BBQ) and they were perfect! The wings were perfectly cooked and the flavors were awesome - we would come back just for the wings (which is saying a lot). The bread and butter was also very good. The bread was a yeast roll and the butter was creamy, and salted just right. For entrees - we had the bacon wrapped meatloaf with chef's vegetables (zucchini and squash) and garlic mashed potatoes. I'm not a big meatloaf lover but our server recommended it so I said what the heck. It was hands down the best meatloaf I've ever had. Most, full of flavor, surrounded by perfectly cooked bacon with just a hint of BBQ. The garlic mashed potatoes were in the top two that I've ever eaten. Again, a step above typical garlic mashed potatoes! The sautéed veggies were also quite tasty and the fact that they were the least remarkable of my meal yet still very good - speaks for itself. My son had the roasted chicken, macaroni and cheese and a wild rice. The golden sauce was truly awesome - a perfect flavor. The chicken was prepared perfectly and was flavorful even without the sauce. The macaroni and cheese was clearly homemade - very creamy and quite tasty. For dessert (we had part of our meal boxed) we tried the bananas foster and the bread pudding. The bananas foster was good - the flavors were really good but it probably sat too long before coming to the table because it was a bit 'soupy'. The bread pudding had a good flavor, but came a three slices as opposed to the manner I'm used to for bread pudding. All in all, up until dessert, probably the best meal I've had in a restaurant in quite some time (which is saying a lot). We should have stopped before dessert. We will definitely return again.

Kent R.

Yelp
Best I can give. The atmosphere was not as fun as I'd hope kinda stuffy and "special". Had high expectation for the food but had to ask the food runner and server for the sides of two our breakfast. My FGT BLT had some funky sauce, was not a fan. Unfortunately had high expectation and they were not met. The server should have taken mine off the bill, As she clearly saw I did not eat it.

Yelp
We love the covered outdoor dining area at this restaurant. The vibe is super chill out there and this restaurant offers a variety of delicious veggies as appetizers. My son and I both got rainbow trout for dinner and it was delicious! Love this restaurant in Tally!

Yelp
I came here to celebrate the completion of a big test with some friends and we had a wonderful time! There is a huge open-air porch that has abundant tables and a bar for all of us who want to stay as safe as possible during this pandemic. You can enjoy the great outdoors while staying protected from the rain. There is also an inside area that is decorated very cutely! One day I'll have to sit in there! Pros-Great food! I ordered the seersucker burger and it did not disappoint. The sweet potato fries had a perfect mix of crunchy outside with a soft interior. I also treated myself to a Berry Bruised cocktail and it was delicious! Great service! We were quickly seated and taken care of. Plus, they allow reservations for large parties! All staff wears masks and require customers to do the same while moving around the restaurant. Room for improvement- Tables are not 6 feet apart when you consider the distance between chairs. I know this isn't a requirement but it's something that I look for when dining out. Plus, when there's room to separate larger parties, might as well! I had a good experience and can't wait to try more items on the menu!
