London’s Best Italian Deli Restaurants | Eater London

"This deli and occasional cafe run by fourth generation family member Stefano Vallebona supplies The River Cafe, Le Gavroche, Harvey Nichols, Harrods and The Dorchester. The business was founded in 1890 by Stefano’s grandfather Agostino, a single-minded Sicilian who would trek on foot through Sardinia’s craggy hills to trade olive oil and bottarga with the northern states of Italy and Spain. Specialities here include cheese which is matured and cut to order in a dedicated cheese room, and a thoughtful selection of charcuterie. The mortadella in particular is exceptional, sourced from the village of Felino in Emilia Romagna. On Saturdays the warehouse turns into a cafe, serving Roman-style pizza and sharing platters." - Helen Graves

I love coming here. The menu is perfect for a sharing dinner. Lovely dishes with Italian and Japanese influence. The staff are so welcoming and Yuka is amazing. Pick a wine from the menu or off the shelf and add some corkage (wish it was a bit less!). Great vibe in the back courtyard. Worth a visit!

We ate lunch here today, We had the most delicious coffees - rich and smooth. We ordered a 4 sharing Charcuterie board. The cheeses and meats and olives were carefully and proudly explained to us. We also had a Burrata pizza. Every mouthful was delicious. The presentation was artistic and beautiful. The quality of all of our food was exceptionally high. The decor and ambience was perfect. The staff are professional and delightful. Our dessert was an almond soft nougat which was heavenly.

Beautiful food, amazing service, really enjoyed the experience. The cheese board was fantastic with a fusion of Japanese and Italian cuisine. The ambiance is also excellent. The waitress Yuka’s service was delightful to say the least. Thank you for the fantastic service.

Vallebona is run by a wonderful husband/wife team with a lot of love and a relentless focus on quality. Great both for deli/gifts and for wining/dining. I also commend their sharing platters, which get great feedback at parties.

Don’t bother going here unless you’re a local - you will not even be acknowledged let alone treated with any hospitality. Having said that, it’s very rude, regardless of what a customer comes to purchase in your store, (£20 for 2 lattes and a double espresso - by the way! Daylight robbery! And the coffee tasted disgusting!!) everyone should be treated the same. No goodbye, no thank you, nothing. However stood having a long chit chat and heart to heart with one specific table with customers (another table of customers was ignored too, not just us) The interior of the place looks like a DIY-project , everything cheaply built and the garden roof is just sheets of plastic with some aluminium. Save your money and a taste of dissatisfaction, and do not visit this run-down place.

Vallebona is incredible, top quality, Italian produce in the heart of Wimbledon. You will receive the warmest welcome upon entering their shop and they have all the catering needs you could want from antipasti to charcuterie, cheeses and sweets, not forgetting a fantastic selection of wines to accompany it all. Pre-order some show stopping sharing boards too, for any home entertaining you might be doing. I cannot recommend their service enough and will most definitely be back for more!

I've ordered the 4 year aged soya sauce (mentioned in Salt, Fat, Acid and Heat book/netflix show) two times now and delivery came the next day.
