Top quality beers. The English Ordinary and the Hefeweizen are superior. Enter from Dawn Street, don’t let Google Maps take you to the uneven back alley. Great, tasty beers. The burgers are good one day, then… explosive running to the bathroom the next.

Fantastic hidden gem! If you like lagers, this is your place. Really cool, relaxed vibe. Bartender was super friendly and helpful in making my selections. He let me try anything I wanted and was super generous with the taster pours! Definitely will check it out again next time I’m in Richmond!

Menu rather limited - this is all strictly pilsener, ales, IPA styles - very hoppy pours. If this is your delight - then this is the place for you. Not exactly my palette - as if you are a stouts and sours person, this isn't the place for you, but I enjoyed the experience nonetheless - as I will still stay and try things. The staff here is very friendly, faciliites are nice, they were very helpful at letting me try the pours to get me something I could enjoy.

Great little brewery. They only had about 6 beers on tap, but they were all solid - and 3.50 for 16 oz pours on Saturday! Cool design on the inside and a big deck outback. Oh and the bartender was very friendly.

Great atmosphere and very friendly and helpful bar/ wait staff. We went for trivia night (Wednesday), which was fun! The beer was solid and so was the burger. The food was heavier and less snacky than I expected, but they had great options. I really liked the Pilsner on draft.

UPDATE: been back several times now, and I wouldn’t have thought it possible but it just keeps getting better! Best brewery in RVA, hands down. Tons of fun events and awesome food variety. They even roast pigs for their annual anniversary parties! There’s even a 90’s country concert coming up soon with awesome talent Nashville Nights… May 15th, I think. Check this place out if you haven’t yet! ————- Surprisingly chic for a brewery! Ambiance is very nice and the HUGE open air deck and hidden fire pit hangout is the place to be! Might be a weird thing to mention but the bathrooms are clean and stylish. :) Beers are great! They have stellar IPAs, porters, the best wild ales I have ever tasted and everything in between. I love the HUGE collection of board games on site so you can easily gather with friends and have fun on the fly. They almost always have pizza, but also have food trucks or other special food events often. Lots of parking, and nice to have such a great place this end of town without having to go all the way to scotts addition and fight for parking 2 blocks from where you want to be.

Great beer with kombucha available in cans, good prices, excellent food from their in house truck now. Definitely a spot you can hang out at on a weekend all day. Plenty of designated parking and dog and kid friendly too.

Hidden gem of a brewery in the city. Not far from everything but off the beaten path. Good brew. Great service.

Brewery went from being a gem to becoming get tight lounge 2.0. This place was custom designed and gave really good positive vibes. Beer was also okay but it was more for ambience and how it is in a hidden spot. I used to have burgers here on Thursday which were made by their main cook and were great as well. They went in partner ship with get tight lounge in Richmond. Result is that this brewery looks like just any other brewery. In fact they changed it to look like a total opposite of what they had before. It looks like get tight lounge. I went there once post new ownership. It was like sitting in a dive bar. They fired the old cook who used to make us smile and take time to make a burger and explain his process. All my friends and coworkers stopped going there. Capitalism casualty !!!

Tabol is still great. It's spacious and the deck is nice in a warm day. The staff their is always so friendly and cheerful. They didn't have any fructoj today, but the tabol biere is a great alternative! It's labeled their wild variety, but it does taste like a sour. Now that the area has developed a bit more, parking can be a little harder to find some weekend nights.

Went there on a Friday night to have a few beers. We were excited to try it because they are specialty is lagers and that's definitely more of what my husband and I are into at the moment. We were greeted at the door by somebody telling us there was a cover for the night so we all had to pay seven dollars to get in. It was a special country night with line dancing, so that was unexpected. We stuck around, enjoyed tasting the pilsners and lagers and even enjoyed a line dancing lesson. Although it was definitely not the vibe we were looking for, it turned out to be a fun experience. The music was definitely very loud though.

This brewery is off the beaten path of the well known areas in Richmond but it is quite the find. There is seating inside and outside and the deck is really nice with couches and tables. Inside the vibe is casual and there are TVs set up around the place. The staff is extremely friendly and will let you try beers before you order. I typically will like beers that are at a minimum of 6% but all of the beers I tried here were under 6% and they knocked my socks off. They use less sugar they said and more of the good stuff to make the beers. I had an IPA and a stout and both were excellent. They have 4 packs to go as well. Definitely add this hidden gem to your rotation. BTW there is a food truck outside that looked really good.

I'm normally not one to frequent breweries, but this place is great! My husband and I came here last week and had a wonderful time. He had a beer and I sipped on Kombucha while we talked and played some of the available games. I LOVED the interior. The greenery, plants, decor, design, furniture, the projector, everything was awesome. The real star of the show, though, was the Women's bathroom! It was decked out in pinks, golds, greenery, gorgeous wallpaper, mood lighting, the works. I loved it and it inspired me to take more risks with my own home design. Loved the outside patio, too, and that they have space for food trucks on the weekends. This is a great place to hangout with friends and/or family!

The space is cool and there's plenty of it. The beers are wild, hoppy, roasty, funky, etc. The folks are friendly and cool. This is a very tasty place with thoughtful ales.

Don't tell anyone about Tabol!!! I want it to be my secret hiding place from the rest of the world where I can go to to have tasty beer on a HUGE sunny deck without loads of other people vying for the cool hammock chairs! Oh crap. Oh well. Might as well write a review now that the cat is out of the proverbial bag. Tabol is super cool and sparkly new! The beers are amazing. Lots of fun sours on tap as well as a few ales and lager types. The staff are very friendly and will even let you poke around where the magic happens and tell you fun facts about the beer you are drinking. Technically, I think this would be called a tour but it's real unofficial. They also have a real, live turntable and a nice collection of soul and funk records you can peruse. And if you are really nice they will play them for you! Oh and the bathrooms are some of the most elegant and lovely I've ever seen. Seriously, go just to use the bathroom and then stay for all the beers!

Ok so I wish sometimes that there were different categories for reviews- like "atmosphere" or "beer/food". This is one of those places where I'd give the atmosphere a 5, the beer TASTE a 5, the POUR a 3, and the price a 3. Does that make me sound annoyingly specific? Welllll, my thoughts are strong and I must let the world of yelp know. They have a cool, relaxed feel inside with a big deck outside right in the sun. They also have games. This isn't in the hustle and bustle of Scott's Addition so that's nice. We tried two of the beers which were great. It was $6 per glass for 12oz but our pours weren't filled up very high at all so it was sadly more like 9-10oz. I know they did just open a week ago so I'm sure they'll be better with that very soon!

Really upscale tasting room in a new area of town. The patio is beautiful, though a bit too cool outside to enjoy it on our visit. Staff was really helpful. Oh yeah, the beer. Very different from most breweries. Lower ABV than you usually find at may breweries which is nice to so can try many without overindulging! I enjoyed a great sour style and my husband loved the fresh tasting IPA. They had a food truck in the parking lot, though we didn't try it. Seems like a nice addition to the Richmond craft beer scene.

Tabol is a nice addition to the Northside! Their beer menu is pretty unique as it offers a wide range but I did notice they change their beers pretty often. So hopefully, they'll always have something on tap to satisfy every beer taste. There's a nice outdoor area and open seating inside the brewery. It was fairly quiet when we went on a weekend but that might just be because it's tucked away which is nice if you're looking for a quieter drinking atmosphere. I'm looking forward to see what other beers they create.

New brewery on the Richmond Beer Trail. Spacious minimalist interior with very large outdoor patio. Dog friendly inside and out. Small selection of innovative brews all naturally fermented. Very friendly owner who loves to explain their fermentation process and how they come up with ideas for new brews. Definitely not your standard run off the mill brewery! Not an IPA in sight! Give them a try!

This brewery is putting out some of the best brews in town. There is a good amount of parking and the taproom is large enough to accommodate a big party. The staff is friendly and knowledgable about their product. I didn't have one bad brew during my visit. I can't wait to go back. If you're looking for some wild ales with unique flavor profiles, this is your place.

Got a private tasting through a friend when the brewery was closed. I was impressed with everything but mostly the strawberry sour. New building with a big deck, lots of space inside with plants and games. Brought home about 8 bottles and have enjoyed 1 so far. I'll definitely return!

Awesome service, delicious lagers and mixed-fermentation/wild ales and value prices. It's great to see a brewery that doesn't just release hype bombs, and really cares about its customers.

Richmond's best kept brewery secret! This spot isn't in the thick of things but that's part of its appeal. It has a fantastic vibe with a variety of indoor and outdoor seating. The decor is beautiful with bold wallpaper, glossy concrete floors, and fun light fixtures. We stopped by on Easter Sunday so we basically had the place to ourselves. I loved my Frutoj: Raspberry beer. They have some super funky brews and I look forward to trying more. I can't wait to go back!

Brewery with food trucks. It's a real pioneer, first place like it in the area. I predict a lot more things like it soon. No point in talking about the beers, because you'll never get the same thing twice

The best of the funky, sour, weird, and just plain delicious beers can be found here at Tabol. The CRUX is an amazing stout, creamy, malty, dark, and lovely. The deck is the nicest brewery deck in RVA

Really like their beer! It isn't a sour house but they use wild yeasts and their beers have very good balance. Great variety, check it out!

Came here for the kickers watch party a few Saturdays ago. I like the beer a lot and the set up is pretty nice. They really need some screens in there. We watched the kickers on a protector and had trouble streaming it, even though the game was on local tv. USA was also playing in the gold cup that night. If they had TV's we could've watched both.

Good place-I am glad tosee the brewery industry coming into Ginter Park area. It is a lil hard on the imap but not Google Map. Great place - great beer and a deck with a fire pit, i like the cranberry gose. It was the for me tje Goldilocks of sour and ale. Definitely going back!

The place was cool. I loved the decor. There's a large patio. Unfortunately, we did not get to enjoy that since is was 50000 degrees outside. Very spacious interior. The taste of the beers was okay...not really my favorite, but I was surprised by one or two of them. It was worth trying.

We love this place, amazing sours! We also love all the glass art and the fun tradition of finding the blown glass for $10 and getting around 4 glasses of a beer of your choice! We love when they get food trucks, I'm hopeful they get a bit more food. We did enjoy the local chips and salsa!

Quickly becoming my favorite brewery in Richmond! If you like funky beers, you'll love Tabol. If you don't like funky beers, or you don't think you like funky beers, you'll still probably love Tabol. There is a beer to make most everyone happy, even though the weekly offerings are not a huge rambling list. Bottles of more beers, to be consumed on site, or to go, plus crowlers too.

Went to Tabol on a Saturday afternoon. Really nice space, you can tell they put a lot of money and attention to detail in everything. There's an outdoor patio but we stayed inside since it was so hot out. They did allow us to bring our dog in which was a plus since many Richmond breweries aren't dog friendly on the inside. The beers themselves where tasty. Not your typical NE hazy IPAs here. They focus on unique flavors using different yeasts that you don't see too often. The beers remind me a little of Jester King in Austin if you've ever been there. Would go back again next time we're in town.

BEST. BREWERY. IN. RICHMOND!! I've loved all of their varieties of their Fructoj; fruity, tart and blended with their house Tabol Biere...which is also amazing on its own! They have a nice variety of beers to appeal to any taste, with ABVs that are high and low; something for everyone! The interior is GORGEOUS and they have a huge deck with shading and a fire pit for when it's cold out. Pup and family friendly! A really unique spot with unique beers.

Great new addition in an out of the 2eay location. Brews done with native Richmond yeasts producing unique and excellent flavors. We tried the Bucolic Frolic - an abbey meets saison draft. Also a Crux, very nice malty stout. They don't do sample or flights, which is too bad, but otherwise a pleasant place with some tasty brews.

Richmond's best kept secret. Incredible, creative and amazing beers, all made with native yeasts. The Hejmo is amazing and uses natural fermentation and local yeasts/micro-biota found in the neighborhood (northside / battery park south and only 1.5 miles from Monroe Park). The space is just as amazing as the beer. Dog friendly inside and out. It is reminiscent of the creativity that was happening in Scotts Addition year's ago. My new go-to place!

Great brews, great atmosphere and an awesome staff and patio. Hard to recommend one single beer when so many of them are amazing but I'll always go with the Tabol Biere.
