Mega Menu of Tartares and Burgers Arrives in Downtown Montreal | Eater Montreal

"Now open downtown in the old M:brgr space on Drummond Street, I found Taboo Cuisine Rebelle serving the same menu as its 100-seat original in L’Assomption run by siblings Benjamin, Laurence, and Marc-André Gaudreau-Pépin. The selection is enormous: a few dozen mini-burgers (mostly beef, with bison, salmon, and chicken also appearing), including a pulled duck mini burger with brie and a bison-bacon sandwich; poutines that feature a house specialty demi-glace and mostly meaty toppings; and possibly the most attention-grabbing aspect — a huge tartare program offering 60 different iterations (180 if different sizes are counted) made from six meats (from classic beef to kangaroo) and ten seasoning options, from classic dijon and apple cider vinegar to Asian-leaning choices like wasabi or ginger, with all tartares prepared à la minute. I also noted a fairly solid happy hour — Monday to Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. mason jar cocktails and sangrias are 50% off. Taboo is open for lunch and dinner Monday to Saturday (closed Sunday)." - Tim Forster

The experience on Saturday was incredible. Everything was perfect. Honestly it was absolutely amazing. But on Wednesday the beef was poorly cut. The waitress got our order wrong. No one told us how to find the 5a7 pricing. I have to rate 4 stars because it was 5 stars Saturday, but 3 stars Wednesday. Overall, it's an inconsistent experience :/

Amazing restaurant. Great atmosphere. Super nice staff that also accomodated my non french speaking needs. Food is some of the best Ive had. Try out the #38 Miniburger if you like pulled pork. 5/5 will go again soon.

Presentation of the food was neat. Prices for tartares are very reasonable but for the mini burgers they could make it a bit cheaper for the Size of it. Drinks were good especially because we went a 4 to 7 special 50% off on the drinks!

Nice little place but overpriced and overhyped Food is decent but not great. Service was great, from the hostess to the waitress. Menu can be somewhat confusing, but the waitress was there to explain it. I probably wouldn’t go back knowing it costs close to $100 for 2. Had the mini burger (FarWest), a salad with chicken and 2 gin tonic. Tartar, sangria.
