Wow! This was a VERY unique dining experience. First let me say that if I could give six stars for service, I would. We felt very attended to and the chefs were very patient answering our questions about each of the courses. As you may be able to see in the videos, each course had a story about why it was served the way it was, and most had some kind of sauce or extra touch that made it feel complete. We really enjoyed meeting the staff at Tabu and the food they prepared for us. Very cool!

The best dinner I have had in Aalborg. Our second visit at TABU, and they only get better and better. We had the 14-dish dinner with wine pairing. An excellent experience with the dishes based on local ingredients, paired with interesting wines and presented by very professional staff, so TABU deserves 5 stars.

I am surprised that this restaurant is so highly rated. My partner and I try quite a few of same level restaurants and it compares poorly. The food was good and well presented by some of the chefs and I liked the minimalist style of the restaurant however the service and the actual atmosphere could be improved. For example the entrance is designed awkwardly- there are tables before the actual reception so those who are placed on the tables near the entrance get all the noise from people coming in, phone ringing, people going to the toilet. There is also noise coming from the kitchen with pots and pans and conversations between the waiters and the chefs. I get those need to happen but it felt a bit much when you are there for the full experience. It seems there is a separate room connected to the restaurant but we were not placed there (even though some tables were empty) so perhaps that is better. All in all I cannot say this was a good experience, I would not recommend it and we’ll definitely not going to return.

I think the best dinner experience I had out of my country. It's not just like a dinner but is a food experience. Chefs will take you to the heart of the dish as well as to the preparation and the most fresh ingredients. Definitely to be back at the first convenience trip to Aalborg.

Good bar here and service was great. Food was alright, but I was a little disappointed. The meat wasn't as tender as expected and had to send it back, but the flavors were alright. It was better the second time around. Very good bathroom facilities.

Upon entering the tastefully decorated restaurant, we were greeted by our server who remembered us from when we visited their summer restaurant, Havn. This is our second time to Tabu, and it was just as great as the first. We really enjoy the quiet, elegant atmosphere and the chefs' local ingredient-inspired dishes. You will get the gamut- vegetable-focused to local game dishes. We also chose the wine pairing, which is always ample enough to finish the course. It's always a great compliment to the meal, starting with a glass of champagne and ending with a nice dessert wine. Highly recommend.

Went to the restaurant the last night of our vacation in Denmark. The restaurant is located just off the pedestrian shopping area in Aalborg in an old shop. It is next to its vegetarian sister restaurant (UBAT), which is Tabu backwards. We started out with small snacked in ubat to a glass of champagne. The settings are subdued colors and modern furniture. After the snack you transition to the main restaurant. Again a wonderful modern style with warm colors. The menu is a pre-fix tasting which four different options of wine, traditional, 1/2 upgrade, upgrade and non-alcoholic. You get six dishes in total which will make you full, I promise. The dishes are supposed to take you on a tour of Northern Jutland using products from the sea and the farms. Absolutely fantastic products. You should expect to see a pure salad dish, multiple small seafood dishes, and a major meat dish. We started out with a seafood salad type dish, we also had venison and chicken three different ways including slow seared, just the heart, ... The variations and the quality is just amazing. It is the production of a perfect evening. We absolutely enjoyed the entire experience. It is a bit pricey, but they just got the Michelin Plate inclusion in the Michelin Guide, so they could be up for a star one of these days. Better go before they get the star and reservations will be much harder and the food more expensive.
