On the Grid : Tabule

"Super savoury, warm, and authentic Lebanese comfort food. The emphasis at Tabule is on fresh herbs, balanced flavours, and super filling meals. Portion sizes are generous, very much like you would expect when you visit your middle eastern grandmother for dinner. They also rock an impressive wine list, some super tasty cocktails, and feature BYOB nights on Mondays and Tuesdays. The restaurant is beautifully designed, with stylized wall-mounted lighting, lots of light, arabic signage and trinkets, and a rich colour palette throughout. Vegetarians are well looked after here." - Medina Abdelkader

I often turn to Middle Eastern food when I'm being health conscious— and Tabule delivers. The tabouleh salad here is a perfect example of clean, fresh, and flavorful eating. None of the dishes are overcomplicated, but each one tastes fantastic, with bright, fresh flavors that shine. On top of that, the service was exceptionally kind and genuine, which made the whole experience even better. A spot I’m always happy to come back to.

I visited this restaurant for lunch today with a friend who recommended it, and I was very pleased with the experience. Everything from the ambiance to the food and service from staff was beyond exceptional!! I tried the fried eggplant and the veal and beef kefta. The chefs were very careful to accommodate my dietary restrictions, and I thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Beautiful patio! Our server was so attentive and we loved his recommendations! Worth visiting again!!! And all the dishes are halal (except for 1 dish)

We had an amazing dining experience here! The lamb was perfectly cooked—tender, flavorful, and beautifully seasoned. The grilled salmon was equally impressive and juicy, flaky center. Both dishes were clearly made with fresh ingredients and a lot of care. Highly recommend.

A Taste of the Mediterranean at Tabule: Simply Superb! My recent visit to Tabule was an absolute delight, and I can't wait to return. From the moment we were seated, the experience was top-notch, largely thanks to our incredible server, Chantal. She was not only remarkably quick and efficient but also genuinely friendly, making us feel welcome and well-cared for throughout our meal. We started with the assorted pickles, a vibrant and tangy introduction to the meal, followed by the sampler platter. This was a fantastic way to taste a few of Tabule's highlights. The labneh was creamy and tangy, the babaganoush smoky and rich, and the hummus smooth and flavorful. Each dip was delicious on its own and even better with the accompanying pita. For our main courses, we opted for the kafta and the garlic shrimp. The kafta was perfectly seasoned and grilled, tender and juicy. However, the garlic shrimp truly stole the show. The portion was surprisingly generous, and the shrimp themselves were cooked to perfection, bathed in a luscious garlic sauce that was simply divine. Every bite was a burst of flavour. To complement the meal, I ordered the Fraya cocktail, and it was exactly what I needed – light, refreshing, and the perfect accompaniment to the flavorful food. Overall, my experience at Tabule was exceptional. The food was undoubtedly top tier, each dish showcasing fresh ingredients and authentic flavours. And the service, especially from the wonderful Chantal, elevated the entire experience. If you're looking for delicious Mediterranean cuisine with fantastic service, look no further than Tabule. Highly recommended!

Google
I got the halloumi salad with chicken skewers and the jallab drink, so good as always! The flavors were fresh and delicious, and the portions were just right. The only downside was the wait time — it was a bit too long considering the restaurant was quite empty. But honestly, the food made the wait totally worth it. Will definitely be back!

Had a really enjoyable meal at Tabule on Queen East. Since I already appreciate middle Eastern food, I was pleased with how well they executed their dishes. The flavours felt authentic and satisfying. The interior atmosphere is a definite plus, creating a welcoming and nicely designed setting for dinner. Considering the quality and the pleasant environment, the prices felt quite fair.

Google
Food is amazing, their hummus and garlic tomatoes are by far my two favourite things to order here. Nothing is spicy, even their hot sauce is pretty mild. They offer a wide variety of Celiac safe gluten-free options. Service is usually pretty good. Keep in mind. When you order soft drinks they come in a very tiny glass and there’s no refills. Feels like a bit of a rip off when you order a soft drink here. Atmosphere is kind of OK. There’s almost always an employee working on a laptop in the middle of the restaurant and moving around as new customers come in. It definitely affects the ambience. Otherwise though very nice place and the patio is a great spot when it’s not too hot outside .

Yelp
I came here on a Saturday afternoon and the place was packed. The space was tight for our group of 6. The service was good though, our server was attentive to our needs. I had their freshly squeezed mango juice. It went really nicely with my lunch. I also had their fried eggplants which were tasty but a bit oily. Their platter of dips and pita were really good - my favourite was the labni- garlic yogurt. The falafel were fresh and really good too. I had the kefta for lunch. The rice and grilled vegetables were the perfect pairing. Both really tasty. The kefta was a mix of beef and lamb. It was a little dry on its own but went really nicely with the side sauces they provide. A really cute spot in the area! I would recommend coming here and wouldn't mind dining here again.

Yelp
Nice looking restaurant on Queen St E. The server was very friendly and outgoing. Food was decent and good portions. My wife liked the lamb skewers. There's enough food for leftovers. The veal tenderloin was supposed to be medium rare, but it was more on the rare side. The meat had a nice char on the outside, but some pieces were kind of chewy. I did enjoy the rice and grilled zucchini and bell peppers. The restaurant has a really nice dining room and a patio on the back. The only thing that diminished the experience was the sign of fruit flies everywhere in the dining room. The craft beers we ordered were pretty good. I got the gild lager, and my wife got the blonde ale. If you are looking to try some Lebanese and Middle Eastern food, I would recommend you give them a try.

Yelp
I haven't been here for many years. Went with a friend on a Thursday around 8:30-9:00 pm. It was packed! We were originally seated at a table for 2 but we were planning to order a few dishes so asked to move to a larger table. They were accommodating and allowed us to move. I also think it worked out because it was towards the end of the night and no one else was waiting for a table. We ordered the following: 1) Sampler Platter - LABNI, TABULÈ, BABAGANUJ. It comes with pita bread and you can ask for as many refills as needed. They do not charge you for it. LABNI - homemade Lebanese yogurt cheese mixed with garlic & topped off with za'atar (Lebanese spices). There is a hint of tartness but I really like this. TABULÈ - hand chopped parsley salad with whole wheat bulgur, tomatoes, onions and a hint of mint tossed in a light lemon & olive oil dressing. Still my favourite! My friend liked this the most as well. BABAGANUJ - puréed BBQ eggplant lebanese tahini, garlic and fresh lemon juice. I didn't mind this but maybe I will try hummus next time or just get more TABULÈ. It was interesting and my friend at first was not a big fan but it grew on them. lol. For the main - I ordered KEFTA BANADURA and my friend got the FALAFEL. KEFTA BANADURA - two juicy skewers of ground mixed lamb and beef in a tomato garlic sauce. It comes with rice and cooked peppers. I really liked that it was a more saucey dish. I think server told me it might be spicy but it wasn't that bad. I liked the little extra hint of it. FALAFEL - gluten free falafels consisting of crushed chick peas, split fava, parsley, garlic, onions and spices served with tahini. It was served over brown rice. The falafels are a bit more crispy/harder in texture. It was okay but a bit dry personally. Similar to my previous review. For drinks - I tried BEIRUIT SANGRIA and my friend had JALLAB LEMONADE. Both were really good! BEIRUIT SANGRIA - passion fruit juice, watermelon juice, elderflower liquor, white wine, orange blossom, prosecco, fresh mint. At first I wasn't sure, but once you let it settle in more, it's soooo good! Very light and even better as a summer drink. JALLAB LEMONADE - date molasses and rose with lemon, soda, pine nuts and raisins. My friend enjoyed this one but I thought it was a bit too sweet for my taste. Perfect if you like sweet drinks! Service - Very good! We were 2nd last table, left close to closing hour but the staff never rushed us or made us feel like we were imposing. There was another large party still dining and not even finishing up yet. They probably left after closing hours but I also did not feel like staff were rushing them either. They were very accommodating and polite. Overall, STILL recommend this place. A solid nice spot for dates, work, friends or family. Expect to pay around $60+ pp if you get a starter, main and drink. Portions are filling enough, I took home a few things.

Yelp
Fantastic food and service, happy to get us in under the hammer (which many venues can learn from) plus great local beer and delicious succulent lamb and beautifully seasoned garlic rice and vegetables.

Yelp
The food here is just so good. The cauliflower is probably one of the yummiest dishes, and I order it every time. Service is also very warm and friendly.

Yelp
Walked in without a reservation and got seated right away on a Sunday afternoon. It's a very cute spot and they serve large portions of food. We got the sampler platter with hummus, babaganuj, and labni. The labni and babaganuj were very tasty and the hummus was solid but nothing special. It comes with whole wheat and regular pita and they bring you extra whenever you want. We also got the chicken livers and it was absolutely delicious. That was plenty of food between 2 of us. I would definitely go back to try their mains.

Yelp
My friends and I checked this place out for my birthday this year. I hadn't heard of this place before one of my friends told me about it. We decided to get a few smaller plates and shared the food among 3 of us. That way we could try a little bit of everything on the menu. Honestly everything we tried on the menu was soo good, none of the dishes disappointed us. Food came out in a reasonable amount of time. The staff was helpful on decided on the dishes. The aesthetic of the restaurant was beautiful. Definitely would go back.

Yelp
Traditionally, the tabule in the sampler platter ($22) wouldn't be gluten-free due to it's use of bulgur wheat. As a result, the kitchen substitutes quinoa into the finely chopped parsley, tomato, and onion salad instead, which gives it a finer and more delicate consistency. I love mixing the citrusy tabule with smoky rich babaganoush and sandwiching a spoon of it into the thin and chewy laffa ($3.95 a piece), it's a great way to start the meal. In fact, you can make a whole meal from their starters with the host of other mezze options gracing the menu. From the inexpensive assorted pickles ($4.50) made up on turnips, olives, hot peppers, and dill pickles to something warm and comforting like the aaranbeet ($8.95), which is unbattered fried cauliflower that's tossed with tahini creating a warm nutty bite. Tabule's falafel salad ($14.95) continues to impress, the crispy chickpea and fava bean nuggets are deliciously fluffy, moist, and flavourful putting other falafels to shame. I do find the vinaigrette overly acidic (mixing a bit of tahini into it helps) and the dressing could use a hit more salt. If you're not into super lemony salads, I'd stick with ordering the falafels solo. The warak enab ($12.95) is also overly citrusy, which is a shame as the stuffed grape leaves are a great consistency - the leaves delicate and soft and the rice not too mushy. If only Tabule tones down the lemon seasoning and augments the tomato, garlic, and other spices instead. For something filling, go for the eggplant meal ($16.95) where slices of aubergine are fried until soft and topped with tahini and pomegranate creating a salty, sweet, and nutty main. The sauces and juices go equally well when soaked into the mujaddara, a fragrant rice studded with lentils and onions. If things become too oily or heavy, have a bite of grilled vegetables that round out the dish.

Yelp
Enjoyed Father's Day here in the back patio. Really cozy feel with attentive service. We had the tabule, hummus, sausages, and garlic tomatoes to start. All were great to snack on while enjoying the weather. Really enjoyed the pita bread that came with it and especially their house hot sauce and toum is to die for! The drinks were really refreshing too. Had the old fashioned hookah, the Arak, and a freshly squeezed mint limeade. For mains the kefta, tawuk, and lamb chops were flavourful with the lamb chops being the star. For dessert we took the kunafa ashta and muhalabiya to go with a Lebanese coffee to go enjoy by the lake since it's a close drive away. All in all, I'm looking forward to returning to try the other apps, mains, drinks, and desserts so essentially to try everything! Honestly I'd even come by after dinner just to try some of their teas with dessert.

Yelp
Roasted Cauliflour with tahini. Woah Fried eggplant. Ooof. Halloumi salad with pomegranate vinaigrette. Hubba hubba. Ambiance. Cha cha cha. Service. High five.

Yelp
I really enjoyed sitting at the bar here and having two Peroni while I waited for a nearby concert last week. I followed that with the Grilled Shrimp that was amazing. The vegetables were just cooked so you could taste the crunch and everything grilled perfectly with large shrimp and with rice. The service was as good as the food and that was good. The interior was nicely decorated and made me feel at home. I had a Turkish coffee and man was it strong! All in all a great place to enjoy yourselves and it gets busy around 5:30pm. They have an outdoor eating area also.

Yelp
Highly recommend, shoutout to Carrie who made the experience so much better. I went here with my family to celebrate my brothers bday. As we entered for our reservation the hostess wished him and did the verification for the vaccine. As we got seated pretty much every worker there started to wish my brother which we thought was such a great vibe to start off the dinner We ordered all the veg hot and cold apps and were not disappointed. They're all well priced especially with the quantity you get and it's nice being able to share a huge variety of items with everyone at the table. The food comes out pretty quick and the aromas in the restaurant are incredible. I loved the cauliflower bites we got and I actually dipped mine in labneh which made it taste mouth watering. We got two cocktails as well and those were very unique and fit with the theme of the restaurant. So good! Don't forget the desserts! You won't regret having those extra calories, most of the desserts are all topped with a rose water sugar syrup and pistachios. We indulged and got 3 and our plates done in a flash.

Yelp
Party of 3 at the Riverside location on a Friday night. It was bumpin in there ! Parking was difficult but eventually found a spot on the side street around the corner. Service was excellent and attentive despite the busyness. 5/5. You absolutely should get a reservation. We had the dip platter and halloumi as appetizers. The halloumi was excellent but the dips lacked flavour (babbaganoush, hummus and labni) . Although I did enjoy the warm pita bread that came with the platter. FYI one of the best dip platters can be found at Mezes on the Danforth if you're curious. Anyway, I also had the lentil soup at Tabule and Again it was ok but was a bit under seasoned. Finally my main came. Salmon kebab meal. Salmon was perfectly prepared and rice and veggies were done well. I cleaned my plate. Rice tasted very buttery yet light which I loved. I also had the kumquat "faux jito" as a non drinker. It was excellent ! Refreshing. Overall a good experience but I found the flavour punch was much better at their related restaurant SOUK TABULE downtown. Not in a hurry to return to Tabule but certainly had some highlights.

Yelp
The food was amazing but it's a shame that the service was so incredibly terrible. I was actually shocked at how long it took any member or the staff to offer my table of two a glass of water. Zero eye contact was made throughout the evening. My son's main meal came so late, I had already finished my meal. at no point did any one person come over to check on us or apologize for the extremely delayed food. I should say there was no shortage of staff working. Overall an extremely disappointing evening out and definitely one of the worst services I have ever experienced.

Yelp
We met some old friends while visiting Toronto and this place lived up to the reputation. The food was amazing, good wine selection and Monica , our server , went above and beyond, not only helped us select right food but made us feel at home with her warmth. We had a wonderful experience and highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Was craving some good Mediterranean food and decided to get take out from here. We ordered quite a few dishes. To start we got the cauliflower (tahini sauce is not to miss) and the fried eggplant *so moist and juicy). Then got the lamb plate and the shrimp plate. Both amazing entrees packed with flavourful bites.

Yelp
Lovely interior decor. Loving the light fixtures as that are installed here. The food and the drinks are amazing! We've ordered from here as takeout and really enjoyed it, but it was nice to sit down and try the food. The presentation of the food is awesome as well. The kefta banadura is soooo good. Would definitely would recommended banadura over the regular kefta Altho both are tasty!

Yelp
This place is everything you could ask for! Great ambiance, people, and food. Monica was an amazing food consultant guiding us on a culinary journey. I would 100% recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Had an amazing meal here. Admittedly I didn't eat too much, but I really enjoyed what I tried! I came for a late lunch on a Saturday around 3 pm and there weren't too many people around. The inside area was completely empty, and their adorable outdoor patio was maybe half full. It was a gorgeous day out, so my group of 4 opted to sit outside. I started with one of their mojito cocktails, the 'from beirut with passion' ($11). It has bacardi, malibu passion rum, fresh watermelon juice, passion fruit, lime mint, and sugar syrup. This was a super delicious and refreshing drink; I could barely taste the alcohol. Would highly recommend it if you like sweet cocktails like me. I wasn't super hungry, so I just ate some of the shared apps instead of getting my own entree. The falafels ($7.50) here were amazing! I'm usually not a huge fan but they tasted extra fresh. An order comes with 6 pieces so it's great for sharing. I also tried the homemade lentil soup ($6.50) and the arnabeet ($7.95), which is flash fried cauliflower. I've had daal (Indian lentil soup) plenty of times before, but the soup here uses red lentils and was very flavorful. I fell in love with this dish! The cauliflower was okay but tasted like they had been out of the fryer for a while. To be honest, middle eastern food isn't anywhere near the top of my favorite cuisines to eat, but if they all tasted this good, I would definitely have to reconsider that...
google avatar

Wendy H.

Yelp
Food was delicious and service was even better. I ordered the lentil soup and also the crispy cauliflower. The cauliflower was a bit salty and was drenched in Parmesan garlic sauce. The lentil soup was really good. The lamb rice platter was delicious. The portion was big enough for 2 people. The baba ganoush is made in house and that aster good. The pita bread on the other hand was over-baked/over heated. It was hard as a rock.

Yelp
I have been a frequent diner at Tabule Queen. The food is consistently very good. While there are many great entrees (personal favourite is the lamb chops); there is a great selection of hot and cold mezzas that are great for sharing. Everything is great but i woukd encourage you to try the fried eggplant (lightly crispy on outside beautiful on inside) and cauliflower (in addition to yummy dipps etc) The service is always accommodating and helpful

Yelp
We had a really great dinner here on a Sunday night. It's great sign when a place is still busy with a bit of a wait We started off with a 10 minute wait at the bar but the staff were very kind to let us know when a table was open up for my YEA and I. To me, the decor is very pleasing and calming neutral colours and lots of cool hanging light fixtures to provide a romantic illumination to the restaurant. Browsing through the menu, we started with the babaganuj with the warm pita bread. It was very creamy and the acidity of the lemon really brightened up the dish while the garlic added the punch. We dug into our mains of kofta banadura and the lamb chops. Probably the two top choices on the menu in my opinion. The mixed lamb and beef skewers are laid on top of this super refreshing and tart tomato garlic sauce. The skewers were pretty juicy and had this great mix of flavours. The lamb chops were cooked to a perfect medium rare and the lamb taste really came through. It was a delight to cut into and enjoy with their homemade hot sauce and white garlic spread. The grilled veggies and rice was a nice complement as well. I do want mention that the portions here are quite sizeable and you will leave feeling full and money well spent. Overall, we had a great Sunday night dinner here and were left really happy and satisfied.

Yelp
Wow doesn't even come to describing this restaurant. Probably the best out of all the Mediterranean restaurant chains, and consistent in taste and quality. Came here because the place we were originally going to closed at 8pm on a Saturday.... We arrived around 7:45pm after struggling to find parking in either the GreenP or the street parking... So we went further down the round and found one, which ended up benefitting us in the end since it was closer to Tabule. We were immediately seated and served water. The table was nice the door, but that didn't effect the temperature. We got a few appetizers for the table, which were all delicious. We ran through the first set of 8 pieces of Pita really quickly and before we even got a chance to ask, our waiter came with more... WITHOUT US ASKING!!! How? I don't know... Magic. (He was very attentive) We got our main meals and we devoured them all because they were just that good. The rice... The meat... The veggies... Wow. Didn't have room for dessert though...

Yelp
Came on a Saturday for a late lunch around 1.30pm. It was very quiet maybe 2-4 tables so there was no problems getting a seat. The interior is spacious and very beautiful with leather seated booths. The labni was creamy and rich, but the pitas were on the harder side, there are places with much better pitas in the city. The fried cauliflower was nutty and nicely fried with tahini and makes a good side. The lamb kofta meatballs were a big portion for one person. I do love the rice here though its savory and has a strong flavor sprinkled with noodle bits. The meatballs itself could have been better, slightly on the drier side and just wasn't outstanding but also came with grilled veggies. The service was friendly. I've been wanting to try this place for a while but i actually prefer souk table way more close by.

Yelp
M and I came here before heading out to a birthday party. After taking a look at the patio he decided to eat dinner out on the patio. It was such a great choice! The patio was so nice and airy. The inside was really nice but since it was such a beautiful evening we went outside. We ordered the trio sample platter, as well as a side of fried eggplant. Holy!! Everything was so good. The flavour were amazing! We were both thoroughly Impressed with everything! The service was a bit slow, but honestly the place was packed and it was nice to have alone time with M! I would come back to this location in a heartbeat!

Yelp
I've been meaning to check this place out for a while and I'm so finally glad that I did. My friends and I came in around 9:30PM and were seated promptly as it wasn't very busy. My friends and I got the sample platter of three dips which were the hummus, babaganüj (eggplant spread), and the labni (a Lebanese yogurt cheese). These dips came with white and whole wheat pita bread. They were so good, especially the hummus. My one friend and I shared the kefta banadura which was two skewers of ground mixed lamb and beef in a tomato garlic sauce and let me tell you this was everything I needed in that moment. The flavour was on point and the skewers cooked perfectly. I love this place and can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Loved my meal here on Friday night! We came as a group of 6 for a late dinner reservation at 21:30. The restaurant was super full when we arrived. The atmosphere was great and the decor, very modern. They have a large menu with many cold and hot appetizers that are perfect for sharing. We started with labni and fresh pita (5/5) and then shared the halloumi salad (4/5). I wish there was more cheese in the salad but it was still delish. I then had the fried eggplant (4.5/5) with a lemon garlic topping on it. It was close to perfect though a bit too oily for my taste. We also shared the ma'anek which was like a beef sausage with a delicious blend of spices (5/5) Along with all those appetizers, I shared the red snapper main which was so good! Served with excellent fresh veggies, it really added a healthy touch to what had been a lot of more fattening foods. On Mondays and Tuesdays, they offer byob with no fees and on other days, they offer byob with a corkage fee of 15$ per bottle (still a pretty good deal). Prices were reasonable and the food was high quality. Looking forward to coming back!

Yelp
1. We waited for 50 minutes for 3 entrees - lamb, chicken, and eggplant 2. Don't believe the best sellers - the food was too plain that we basically had to use salt shakers for the taste 3. Even worse, one of the waitresses here seriously has an attitude. It looks like she doesn't want to be a waitress and wants to act like a queen among the patrons. I mean, if your life is frustrating, get it back to order. But if serving pays for your rent and food, just be professional and not pretend that you are a princess. P.S. there are better places in town. I suggest you look elsewhere if you don't want to pay your for arrogance and plain food. Period.

Yelp
Made reservations for New Year's Eve dinner at Tabülè. This was my first-time dining at the Riverside location. The décor is beautiful and the space is cozy, particularly if you're seated at the back. We started with a fresh bowl of Babaganüj ($6.95) served with Laffa Flat Bread which was a delight. I highly recommend! For my main course, I went with the Grilled Salmon Kebabs ($20.95), my go to dish at Tabülè. I substituted the rice for Müjaddara as always, and also had some grilled vegetables in the mix. This is a hearty dish and I almost always have leftovers to carryout. We finished up with the Honey Cardamom Latte ($4.75) which was divine - not too sweet, just right. Overall, this was a great dining experience - serene environment, friendly and somewhat fast service for a busy night, and food that is delicious and rich in flavour.

Yelp
A solid 3.5 rating... better than average but it has some little things that didnt push it to a 4 star. After hearing many good things and reading numerous awards given to Tabule on their food, I finally grabbed a reservation on a Saturday to hopefully enjoy their back patio. Well, mother nature has her own mind and it rained us out but we still were able to enjoy some really good food. Over in Leslieville, Tabule was clearly a popular spot as every table had a reserved sign on it and people were constantly being turned away. We were quickly greeted and welcomed to our table. The room is nicely done and doesn't scream the traditional kitchsy design of palm trees, tajines, or peaked arches. It's a lovely space with dark walnuts, clean modern lighting, and pops of colour. Our tables were close to the other ones but I can see how popular this place was that they need to pack it in. Service here is warm, friendly, and very quick. After ordering drinks, only a few minutes later it showed up at our table. After ordering, our mezze appetizer appeared in less than 5 minutes. It's all quick here! The atmosphere and service is a clear 4 star but the food is where it started to falter. The appetizers were a clear 4 star but the mains was clearly underseasoned and flavoured but they were well cooked. Sampler platter of Hummus, Tabule, and baba ganoush - This arrived with freshly warmed pitas and ohhh this was good. Bright and bold tabule was fresh with a hit of lemon and nice chunks of tomato and chick peas. The hummus was very creamy with a healthy dose of garline and the baba ganoush was the best. Perfect balance of lemon, garlic, and tahini with the creamy egg plant. It was a nice touch that they refilled it unprompted Lentil soup - If you love soup get this! Oh this was full on flavour and so creamy! This is very good. I remember just wanting to horde this to myself. Lovely flavours of garlic, cumin, and onions. Falafel Salad as an entree - Though this is in the appetizer section, this could easily double as a main if you get the appetizers. It comes with perfect crunchy falafel and a generous amount of a simple salad. I've read Tabule Falafel are great and I do agree their well cooked... not dripping in oil but it had a good crunchy exterior with a moist interior. What made me not enjoy it as much was that it was missing all the seasoning and spices. It needed salt and I didnt taste the cumin, garlic, parsley... nothing. It was a very plain chickpea flavour. Thankfully we had some hot sauce to save it. Lamb skewers - Another generous dish ... rice was enough to feed two people and it came with some roasted vegetables. The lamb had a light gamey flavour in a good way and it was very well cooked. Just perfectly medium and still very tender. The only concern was that there was no seasoning... no salt, no pepper. It was very plain in flavour. Overall, it is a good restaurant with some great appetizer but their mains just need some flavour to kick it up and be a 4 star.

Yelp
Food is fantastic, service is great and cute little location. And good portions. Definitely get the sample dip platter, garlic tomatoes, garlic shrimp and 3 different kebabs. We had the chicken, lamp and mixed beef lamb kebabs. All were Delicious! Only thing is the bathrooms are in a little bit of an inconvenient location but aside from that superb food!

Yelp
I got the falafel entree for delivery with a side of grilled veg. Gluten free vegan for delivery through Foodora. The falafel was very good, fresh and still hot -- and gluten free, which is why I chose the restaurant. The mujaddara was ok, I mean you can't really screw up plain rice and lentils (but you apparently can charge a lot for them: $7.50 as a side). The "concasse" which comes on top was a fancy way of saying about 5 tiny pieces of tomato. The grilled veggies were good too -- done fresh, not sitting around. For the price, the portions were quite small though (except for the falafel), even with a side of veg. I weigh under 90 lbs and I'm not that full. There should've been more veg and more tahini sauce. I like that they use mennonite raised chicken. I like that they have veggie and GF symbols next to their dishes, but a vegan symbol would also be useful. Not bad, but not blow-your-mind. I'd eat it again, but unsure if I'd order it again with other choices available.

Yelp
Enjoyed a lovely meal here with my mom after an evening of bridal gown shopping just down the street. Our server was very sweet and attentive, which is always appreciated. For starters, we opted for the hummus with fresh pita bread, a side of mixed pickles and the falafel salad. Hummus was super smooth and flavourful, yum! I love pickled pretty much anything so totally enjoyed the pickles plate, which was comprised of olives, pink turnip, and hot peppers. The falafels were awesome - not dry in the middle at all and super crispy on the outside, perfection! Also loved the bright, fresh tasting dressing on the salad. We both ordered seafood entrees for our mains. My mom got the grilled shrimp and I selected the baked red snapper. Both dinners were cooked perfectly and nicely seasoned. Their rice was so so good - if I wasn't so stuffed I would have kept eating. To end the meal, we shared a pot of Moroccan mint tea and the dessert (sorry I forget the name) comprised of warm custard, angel hair flio pastry, honey, and crushed pistachios - it was just heavenly! While I don't venture out to this neck of the woods often, I look forward to trying another one of Tabule's other three locations in the near future.

Yelp
So good! I was a little skeptical of the reviews but decided to try it out with another family (7 of us including 3 kids!). Man, was I blown away by the food. Everything they had was really good. I think they got everything down right. They were able to accommodate our children in a different section of the restaurant which was very helpful as we didn't have to be as wary of their behavior. Recommended!

Yelp
Iriana and I have somehow been in the area twice, and both times have eaten here. Great tasting food for sure! Both times have been excellent. I've tried the garlic shrimp and the Hallüm Salad (omg, that cheeeeeeeeeeeeese). The way they pour water is pretty cool/entertaining. Would definitely recommend this place if you're in the area!!

Yelp
I liked the ambiance of this place and thought the service was fantastic BUT found the food lacklustre. I'd only ever come back for drinks, not food. I love middle eastern food but it just didn't feel worth the money. Don't remember exactly what dish it was, but I had lamb and grilled veggies and rice.. and it was uninspiring. But great vibes! Might be good idea for a date, when you're really not focused on food as much as on ambiance.

Yelp
Staff are usually friendly. Food is good and mostly plant-based, with labels for vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. Lots of small plates that are great for sharing. They also have full-sized mains. Some of the seats are less than ideal because you can feel when people move, but if you get a good seat and aren't sharing a bench with a large, restless person, you will be fine. Definitely worth a visit.

Yelp
My wife and I live in Winnipeg, but have family whom in normal times we visit regularly in Toronto. One of our fondest memories of Tabule on Queen is sitting on their back patio enjoying lamb chops and roast eggplant while sipping deliciously chilled habibis. Since it opened in 2012 Tabule on Queen has been a favourite restaurant during our Toronto trips. So it was a natural choice for my mom's 93rd birthday dinner this month. Since in-restaurant dining was not an option due to pandemic concerns and restrictions, we ordered takeout for mom. By her account the lamb, roast eggplant, tabouli salad, labni, luffa, and dessert goodies were excellent. William was extremely helpful, following up our online order with a phone call to confirm the details the day before mom's birthday, and with a personal follow-up email afterwards. He also included special birthday treat for no extra cost! My family has the highest regard for the food, service and atmosphere at Tabule on Queen. It is one of a handful of restaurants to which we keep coming back and that we recommend highly to our friends. All the dishes are of uniformly high quality and of excellent value, though the lamb chops are a personal favourite. If you're ordering takeout, as we did, make sure to use the restaurant's in-house delivery service, which is MUCH more reliable than the various apps currently flooding the food-delivery market.

Yelp
I really like Tabulé. I've been to the Davisville location multiple times but it was my first time to Queen St E. I might prefer the setup of this one, you can tell it is newer, The ambiance inside is great. The bar is close to diners, the tables are well set out and it feels cosy (but not crammed) because they are quite close together. The lighting is perfect. Our server was also great. He was very friendly and attentive without being pushy. We took some time to consider what to order and he didn't make us feel rushed but was always nearby. We shared the three dip starter (hummus, labni and baba ganoush) and cauliflower as starters. The dips were are all delicious but the labni is the definite standout. The cauliflower is also tasty, I wouldn't have minded if the pieces were cut slightly larger though. I then ordered the haloum salad (sans falafel or other addition) and the hookah old fashioned and my friend got the falafel salad with chicken (plus a red wine and an old fashioned). Both my drink and main were tasty and I was well satiated with a box of leftovers to take home. My friend enjoyed her dishes as well. I have read reviews that Tabulé is not as much bang for your buck as other middle eastern restaurants. However, in Toronto I struggled to think of a happy medium Lebanese? Mediterranean restaurant (moderate price, big portions) between Paramount's takeout place in Yorkville /shawarma and a restaurant such as Tabulé, District Oven or Byblos. Tabulé is probably more affordable than District Oven or Byblos (where you can seriously break the bank). The portions are a reasonable size for your average person and the food is very rich so I usually find I cannot finish it. One thing I will mention is that the wine here is a little pricey. If an 8oz red on the cheaper end of the menu is $15 I'd definitely shoot for a $10-$12 cocktail instead. Other points to note: - Great food consistency between Davisville and Queen St locations. - If you're a vegetarian (or even if you're not) cheese is a definite star on the menu. - the staff are very genuine and friendly - everyone waved goodbye and thanked us for coming. It definitely gives the place a family feel.

Yelp
I dropped by at 6:30 on a Friday night with a friend. The place was packed!! We actually had reservations for 8:30 but since we were early we decided to try our luck. The only option was to sit at a community table. Super quishy, but we didn't want to wait. It ended up being fine, since the whole restaurant was packed anyways and we were seated right away. The servers all pour water like how you are supposed to pour Morrocan mint tea. Some were more confident than others, but quite a little performance each time the water is refilled! The food here is ahhhmazing!! It's grilled meat heaven. And the portions are huge! I got the grilled lamb which came with veggies and müjaddara, all for $21.50 (super cheap for an entree in that area). I love lamb so I was all kinds of happy with the big succulent pieces of lamb. It was a bit dry at first because my dish didn't come with sauce. Turned out our waitress forgot to offer us a trio of sauces (garlic sauce, hot sauce and something else) which she brought out soon after. This is not a place where you come to chill out with a long leisurely dinner. It's small, its packed, the waiters nearly brush up against you as they pass. So we ate and got outta there. Maybe it's less crowded on weeknights?! Either way, I'll be back for the delicious food, great prices and huge portions.

Yelp
We first got acquainted with Tabule over Summerlicious, when we visited the location on Yonge. We decided to give the Queen St. location a try. The first impression was positive. Decor is nicer compared to the Yonge location; the tables at the front of the house benefit from the large windows, which let in a lot of light. Parking on the street was not a challenge on the weekend. The restaurant got very busy throughout the evening, so I'd say reservations are recommended. We started the meal with Falafel (vegetarian patties consisting of crushed chick peas, split fava, parsley, garlic, onions and spices served with tahini), which I loved when we went to the Yonge location. I love how light and flavorful they are. For my main, I ordered the Lamb (two skewers of fresh Ontario lamb dry aged in house) medium-rare. It was perfectly prepared, tender, juicy and not gamey. The lamb was served with chef's vegetables and rice topped with onions, which went really well with the meat. Greeter and server were pleasant, and service was fine. Tables are a bit too close to each other. Room is noisy, probably because of the predominantly hard surfaces.

Yelp
When the restaurant first opened up, the food was delicious. Now, a few years later, the chicken is dry DRY dry, the falafel is meh and they don't make 'complicated' dishes (like kubbe) during patio season because they essentially have 'two restaurants' and don't have the time. Thankfully, there are so many good restaurants in the area, putting time and effort into their menus that I don't have to settle for 'whatever' average.

Yelp
This a review of the service I received today, not of the food. I've been to Tabule a few times in the past and have generally had great experiences with both the food and the service. A friend and I went to Tabule for a work lunch today and had a very annoying experience - a group of guests who had come in 10-15 minutes after us was served their food very quickly, while my friend and I were still waiting for our lunch entrees while on a tight schedule. We also couldn't continue to eat our sample appetizer platter while waiting since our pitas were never refilled. After 30 minutes of waiting for our food, we ended up having to ask a different server for our food to be packed to go instead of being served to our table in order to not be late back to work. Our original server acted surprised that there was an issue with the slow service and was confused as to why we had to leave in order to not be late... Very disappointing.

Yelp
Good food. Nice cozy patio in the back. We came in around 2pm. And it was not packed. Service was a bit slow but that was because there were only two waitresses for the whole store. For entree, we ordered the Kefta, Kefta Banadura and Salmon special. As an appetizer we ordered the sampler and it came with unlimited pita bread.

Yelp
I've been to the middle east and had amazing cuisine in the motherland, so I can firmly say, Tabule is nothing special. Everything was fine, but nothing was outstanding. I was expecting mind blowing falafels and dips but the best thing I ate was probably the mujadara that the mains could be served with. The seating was also incredibly uncomfortable, the chairs for the table in the middle of the restaurant surrounded by other tables on all sides were too close, I didn't particularly enjoy the constant jostling from the foot traffic trying to make its way around the restaurant. I probably won't be back if it was up to me.
