The 14 Best Restaurants In Deptford

"If every train station in London was next to a pink and yellow neon sign with the words, TACO KITCHEN on it, the world would probably be a better place. Taca Tacos is a cosy, little spot bringing some of that sunny, California energy to the arches of Deptford’s Market Yard. The meats are all slow-cooked, fall-apart, and comforting, but the seats are not, making it suited to a quick taco pit stop. Snag one of the four inside tables midweek, and make a mess of your chicken pibil in peace. Or come on the weekend, when big shared tables outside fill up with groups, sitting under twinkling fairy lights, dunking corn tortillas into a six-hour beef birria broth. Taca Tacos Review - Deptford - London - The Infatuation

"If every train station in London was next to a pink and yellow neon sign with the words, TACO KITCHEN on it, the world would probably be a better place. Taca Tacos is a cosy, little spot bringing some of that sunny, California energy to the arches of Deptford’s Market Yard. It’s quieter midweek which means you’ll be able to snag one of the four inside tables and make a mess of your chicken pibil in peace. The meats are all slow-cooked, fall-apart, and comforting, but the seats are not, making it suited to a quick taco pit stop. Come the weekend, the big shared tables outside, under twinkling fairy lights, are made for big groups and getting elbow-to-elbow with other good decision-makers who are dunking corn tortillas, wrapped in crispy cheese jackets, into the six-hour beef birria broth. photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch photo credit: Aleksandra Boruch" - Sinéad Cranna

Absolutely delicious tacos - really recommend the beef combo which is great value for money. Everything is gluten free except the burritos which makes it great for people with coeliac disease, and the staff were very confident and reassuring about this. Will return!

Atmosphere all right on a sunny evening, service speedy and polite. Now, food and value for money was extremely disappointing. The chicken tacos were dripping fat sauces, the beef carne asada had absolutely zero flavour or seasoning and the meat came in large chewy chuncks, in a disgusting blue-ish colour. Inedible. We ordered extra avocado for the fish taco which was a think, tiny slice for £.50. We may have been unlucky on the day, but not a place we'd recommend or come back to.

The tacos were flavoursome and juicy! I would definitely go again and I would recommend it friends. I ordered the pork, beef and the fish taco. I think the pork was the best one (salty and juicy) closely followed by the beef (which would have been the best if they had the broth in stock) and lastly the fish. I wouldn’t get the fish again because it’s just like getting fish and chips…I’d rather order something I can’t get casually on an everyday basis if I’m going to pay £8. I had the smoked pineapple margarita which was different and really nice. All in all great food and drinking experience. (This branch is tiny and I counted it had 6 different seating areas with a much larger outdoor area so not ideal for winter. When we went there it was empty so no problems for seating. I’d recommend going to the Peckham branch which is still small but with more available tables, just make sure you book beforehand.)

Came down to London for the weekend and really wanted to try their tacos. Me and my dad ordered the birria tacos, shrimp, battered fish and pork. When I tell you it was amazing I mean it. So flavourful and very tasty. Everything together was perfect. The sauces that come with the birria combo were to die for, the flavours were immaculate.Best experience ever. The frozen margaritas were stunning and strong😂. Will definitely be going back. 100% percent recommend. Worth every penny!

AMAZING birria tacos! Have already been back 2 more times. Great food. Only drawback, the birria taco combo does travel well if you get a takeaway. After the 20mins journey home the tacos were soggy & the other ones were hard. The atmosphere was not bad. There just wasn't any. Outdoor seating in a shared space.

Great tacos and a good size! The fish was my favourite but loved them all!

Went with friends for a quick dinner after work, one of our group was Coeliac and they explained that everything on the menu (except the burrito which is cooked separtely) is gluten free. I had the beef burrito bowl which was very tasty and filling. Seating was outside which was nice as it was a warm sunny evening.

Had the birria combo, would recommend. Highlight was the soft cheesy one (mulita?). Wish there was some way of mopping up the rest of the nice gravy. Asked for no coriander and they gave coriander- only issue.
