Although I spent a short time at Taco Bamba, I had a very nice experience. Generally, speaking Taco Bamba is nice restaurant that specializes in street tacos. OMG, the spot has an AMAZING selection of taco combinations from your traditional/standard sort to more innovative tacos. For my dining experience, I went with four tacos (yes, I was starving):
1. One Night in Bangkok: shrimp & spicy chorizo larb, mint, basil, chiles, and crispy onion.
2. El Gringo: ground beef, bacon, lettuce, ranch, pico de gallo, and cheddar quesadilla
3. Fredneck BBQ: bbq pork shoulder, morita slaw, pickled onions, jalapeno, and cilantro
4. Johnny Danger: crispy pork chicharron, peanut chili crisp, hot honey, yuzu basil aioli, red onion, cilantro, scallion, and pickled habanero
With the exception of El Gringo, I was impressed by all of my tacos with One Night in Bangkok and Johnny Danger being my favorite tacos. Don't get me wrong, El Gringo was not bad at all...it's just wasn't as good as my other three tacos. Also, the tacos (about $5-6 per taco) are generously stuffed with amazing ingredients.
I thought the service was pretty good - the bartender was hilarious and made some great recommendations. While the tacos are made to order, the restaurant prepares them pretty fast. In fact, I think I received my tacos before receiving my margarita. ;)
Price-wise, I thought the prices were pretty comparable to other fusion-style taco spots in the area. Although Taco Bamba is a little out of my way, I am more than willing to make this commute to try out some more of its tacos.
