Yelp
The Good: Diverse menu, fun atmosphere, great salsas.
The Bad: Slow single register to order at (unless they tap the one at the bar), and located right next to the drive-thru to the Chick-fil-a.
Taco Bamba is dishing out good drinks and Mexican street food staples such as elotes, mulita de birria, and (huge!) sopes. They also have tortas, traditional meat tacos (lengua, al pastor, barbacoa, etc.), and unique tacos (i.e., Turkish Wrestler - cauliflower, labne caesar dressing, ezme chili sauce, basil, and chili threads).
I'm personally a big fan of their sopas, and these are large enough to be a meal in themselves. Their lengua, birria, al pastor, and barbacoa are legit and good in whatever form you want (sope, taco, torta, you name it).
I do like their tacos, but I was hoping for them to be a bit smaller and closer to a mini street taco size, but nothing to dock points off for.
There are two choke points when it comes to Taco Bamba: the single register for ordering and its proximity to the Chick-Fil-a drive-thru. The folks manning the register are fairly quick no matter what time of day, but it's the other customers that really slow it down. If they've got question or are relaying an order to the cashier via a phone, everyone else is waiting on them. A second register is available at the bar and sometimes they'll open it up for regular orders if the line starts to get long. You just don't know if you'll be in line for 2 minutes or 15
The other issue is beyond Taco Bamba's control. The Chick-fil-a that is in the same plaza is not standalone. It's a part of a strip mall and the drive-thru wraps around the whole building right in front of Taco Bamba and sometimes out onto the street. It makes it quite a nightmare to get into and out of the plaza. But if you're careful and dedicated to the taco cause, it's worth it to park in the middle of the plaza and walk vs getting as close as you possibly can.
