Best Late Night Taco Restaurants in Austin - Eater Austin

"Live mas on the Drag at the only Taco Bell Cantina in the Lone Star State. Besides staying open until 4 a.m. Thursday through Saturday and 3 a.m. Sunday through Wednesday, this spruced-up Taco Bell also offers booze. Order a Mountain Dew Baja Blast (or any other Twisted Freeze) and pick a shot of liquor to drop in. Oh, and definitely a Fiery Doritos Locos Taco." - Darcie Duttweiler

If you’re ready to get an upset stomach and your order messed up across the board, come eat here! I was expecting it to be better since it’s a “Cantina” Taco Bell. I’ve been to others across town that are decent, but this one was pretty bad. They were very frugal with the ingredients and the quality was very poor all around. Save your time and money and eat elsewhere.

It's just a regular Taco Bell now, but they kept the branding, likely for the positive publicity generated by the internet over the last few years...the main selling features 1. Higher quality food. (Honestly there is no discernable difference between this one and one elsewhere.) 2. Alcoholic beverages. (To which they discontinued due to "low sales" as stated by the cashier.) Was excited for something special from a city I've never been to, left with the same everyday tacobell.

It's a Taco Bell that you can have an adult drink at. The strawberry kiwi twisted freeze with rum was pretty darn good. They have 2 TV's so if there's a big game or if UT is playing, you could potentially watch it here, but I have to admit a sports bar would be better for that. Alcohol was reasonably priced.

Local beer, outlets at every table, and great service, what's not to like? The food is a step above other Taco Bells in the area and the service is a mile ahead of almost any fast food location. I recived exceptional service from Devin, he is what make taco bells great. Look forward to the expansion of the Cantina version of Taco Bell spreading. Will update my review when the new expansion opens.

First off, this was an excellent idea on Taco Bell's part to create a restaurant concept that feels open yet like a fast casual restaurant that serves alcoholic beverages. I'm not sure if it's because they just opened, but the food tasted a bit fresher too. Pricing is pretty much the same as other Taco Bells and it offers the same options as far as food goes, plus a couple others. As far as the Twisted Freezes go, it's basically just choosing a flavor and adding either Vodka, Rum, or Tequila in that differ in price. I personally got the Strawberry Kiwi Freeze with Vodka and thought it was pretty good. It's especially nice because the alcohol they serve is local. The vodka is Tito's, as a quick example. The crowd was generally the average millennial, which is obviously the target, especially with this being right near UT. (What can I say, I'm a millennial as well.) If you're in the area and want a quick bite to eat, just want a bit of alcohol to whet your appetite, and/or don't mind standard Taco Bell (or tipping a bartender) then I would definitely recommend checking this one out. I'm personally going to try the Blue Raspberry Freeze next time I go.

Traveled to the Cantina to try alcohol with my Taco Bell, as most people are probably looking for, but they weren't serving alcohol at this location and said they probably wouldn't be again. The service was good enough and the food was okay. Not worth going all the way downtown when there's really no differentiator from any regular Taco Bell.

Nice place, food tasted better than regular drive thru. But who knows maybe I was biased because of the drinks.

Ordered on machine and no one processed it until I asked. No attendant at the counter even though staff could see us waiting. It was like they weren't there to serve customers. Strangest fast food experience I've ever had. Would be 1 star except the product was still great.
