A friend invited me to come by last night, and I’m so glad I said yes! I’ve been telling everyone that the service here is truly the best in town. Juan was amazing — super friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. We had such a great time thanks to his energy and care. Thank you again, Juan, for making last night so memorable. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Google
I have never been to a slower Taco Bell. Every Friday night there’s a line of doordashers out the door and each order takes like 10 minutes (so you can easily wait 30). No complaints about the food

Michael Coates (Coates_MaGoates)

Google
Some woman told me to “take a breath” after waiting 30 minutes for my food and I’m not sure why?? I understand Taco Bell’s might be “busy” after 1 in the morning but even when I worked in the service industry I would never in a million years tell someone this.

Sir Luscious

Google
Do not order from here at all you will be waiting for a 30 plus mins for a mobile order smdh while people are on the phone looking at there customers wait for there order

Google
Order For Three I went in ordered on the kiosk and the kiosk malfunctioned. I went to the cashier she was a nice girl I don't remember her name. After the kiosk I paid for my food with the same girl at the old fashioned fast food checkout counter. The food took a bit long because the place was packed .. 3 maybe 4 employees were on duty but the place was a mess. I gave them a pass because it was busy but maybe they need an extra hand for Covid- safety precautions and just some regular business hour operational flow.i asked to dine-in and they gave me a takeout order. The food was delicious and again not to my surprise they got my order wrong like most places... I upgraded my normal menu item of rice and beans to a supreme and they added the sour cream but forgot to add the tomatoes.😮‍💨 I expressed my missing menu item to the same cashier because she was the only one on duty as cashier at that time with 30 guest in the building and she still got my tomatoes for me really fast. Overall I can say my experience was decent but when do you guys get people's orders right???

Douglas Foley

Google
Order was super simple. Won’t go into details, but trust me…….order was not complicated at all. First they didn’t get my order, I have no idea how that happened. I ordered on one of those little kiosk things, and paid on it. Then after that got cleared up. They made a mistake on my order. I get it, mistakes happen, but like I said, this order was mot complicated at all…….. to whoever reads this, no offense to anyone, i get it, it’s hard out here, people need jobs, but if you’re gonna hire people and pay them cheap under the table, can you at the very least make sure they speak and understand English as well as our metric system????………..

Google
All these bags of food sitting there. They will call out a name. Someone will answer. She laughs and smiles with her coworkers, then ignores the person who answered. Here's all the people waiting for food when tons of bigs are sitting there not going out. Needless to say, I backed out. Not being caught up in all of that.

Andrew Richardson

Google
It takes almost an hour from putting in the order to receiving the order They also close the lobby early. So late-night you have to put your order in online and then wait an hour unless you want to stand around on the sidewalk.

Yelp
Aside from all of the chaos that occurs right outside on 14th, I really enjoy this location. The food comes out pretty quick. The workers are also so sweet and nice. Mind you, there aren't a lot of Taco Bell's in DC... so this is a pretty good one.

Yelp
Taco Bell is back in DC, baby! My family had a good experience eating in at this new Taco Bell Cantina location on a Monday night. After we ordered on the screens, our name was called in less than two minutes. The menu is expansive and well organized, and seems to include everything you would expect a Taco Bell to offer. Our food was handed off with a smile, and the order was accurate and tasty. I am thrilled that Taco Bell is back in DC. You enter from 14th Street, next to the Chick Fil-A. There is seating for 12 or 14 people in this relatively small space, and the name "Cantina" oversells the ambience. There is no music, and the room is dominated by a TV. It was showing Hoarders at the time, which included a couple unappetizing visuals. But that was not fault of this location or the staff. I just write to note that you will probably have a better experience here than the people who took the time to write negative reviews.

Yelp
I don't understand what's happened to make this taco bell incapable of decent service. They are addicted to taking the longest time possible to prepare an order. It doesn't matter the time of day, they will take 45 minutes longer than they need to. Someone should come in and fire every person who works here.

Reagan W.

Yelp
After meandering around the city and being shot down by many places being at capacity, taco bell cantina welcomed us with open arms. Despite having no seating and being very busy we were able to order, receive our drinks, and eventually get our food within 15/20 minutes. This taco bell was my saving grace as I was about to lose it if we got turned away from another place. Thank you taco bell. It was delicious and I love you always.

Yelp
I would like to start with how fresh the food is when I visit. Costomer service is always fantastic. They explain what each ingredient is. I appreciate the staff cleaning the tables. The restaurant is always clean.

Yelp
Upon entering. You're NOT greeted. There's sanitizer available. This location is in the center of Columbia Heights so it gets a heavy amount of foot traffic. Despite having a heavy amount of traffic. This location only has FOUR TABLES available for dining in. Sadly the tables are usually taken by either homeless people or customers that order a soda and occupy the entire table with various bags. Some of the employees are somewhat friendly. Nowhere near professional nor social however. You can usually hear the employees yelling at someone to get out or chasing the kids out when they come in to get sauce packets without buying anything. The ventilation is somewhat poor due to the lack of not running the air conditioner during the hot days. As such. You'll notice a heavy amount of flies flying around *SEE PICS** due to the humid environment from the lack of proper ventilation. There's usually trash on the tables left by previous customers **SEE PICS**. Also the trash cans are usually overflowing due to the lack of proper management. The bathrooms are locked and requires the employees to input a unlock code to use the bathroom. The food here is very subpar. Most of the time it's barely warm. The burritos lack even a DECENT AMOUNT of meat despite charging high fast food prices. The kitchen area is open and viewable which is a plus though. But that's normal with any Taco Bell. This location has a few MAJOR DOWNFALLS THOUGH: There's flies flying all around the kitchen area as well as the dining area to the point you're always deterring flies away from your food. Somehow after checking with the health department. This location scored a 100% which really means OIG needs to "research" the inspector who did the report. This location has trash cans right near the food prep area in the kitchen overflowing. The trash cans in the dining area are usually always overflowing. There's flies everywhere. Dirty tables and stains on the floor from not using REAL SOAP. There's no way this store could pass a health inspection. Not to mention the very heavy amount of people coming in off the street filling up reusable water bottles with soda without buying anything and no sanitizing the soda machine whatsoever every few minutes. There's also something "very shady" going on here. If you're dining in. You'll notice a heavy amount of young people coming in to dig in the trash cans near the door which are usually always overflowing to obtain "items" to give to other people. As well as kids passing by banging on the glass to get attention. The noise level can be annoying at times due to customers bringing Bluetooth speakers in at max volume and the employees yelling at the kids taking the sauce packets. The general crowd is mainly adults & kids. Lastly. After leaving. You maybe shaken down for change by numerous panhandlers directly outside the door. Sometimes they come in and start asking the customers can you buy them a full meal with drink. As well as displaying money at this location gets a lot of unwanted attention. Overall. THIS LOCATION IS A DUMP.....

Nyah M.

Yelp
Slowest service ever. Whenever I come here I'm waiting at least 20 minutes for my food. The employees move with no urgency to get food out quickly. However, the food is usually okay. Definitely avoid this location. I will not be coming back.

Shaun H.

Yelp
Had to cancel a pickup order with two items because I waited over an hour and made the pickup order as I was on the metro leaving my job. Staff is very standoffish I stead of trying to de escalate the rush and help customers get their food. Either hire staff that actually cares or close. Worst Taco Bell location I've ever been to.

Judah W.

Yelp
I AM SO DIGUSTED. I mean it so much. I was getting dinner for me and my parents the first one I was walking to my car. I took a pic of it cuz I thought it looked nasty. First let's talk!!!!! About the service. I HAD to wait 50 minutes just BECAUSE "There were a lot of people". I was so hangry. And It was that time of the month!! So I got very frustrated. Finally I was offered my food. It stank the atmosphere was uncomfortable. I went to my car got home. By the way the food was not even fresh. I gave my parents the food by the way the last picture was my taco. I thought it looked nasty. So did my parents. we all threw it away. I recommend NOT to come here.

Yelp
Waited 40 minutes for fast food. Are you kidding me?!?! Place has gone downhill recently. Maybe it's overloaded with door dashers but there are basic things that are just demonstrate they are a mess. They were out of CO2 so the fountain machine didn't work. But you don't learn that until after you ordered your food and see a sign on the machine. And they kept running out of fried items and having to start from scratch.

Yelp
Need a snack after arduous shopping at Target so we stopped at Taco Bell (maybe we were temporarily delirious?). It turned out that our steak quesadillas were delivered quickly, were piping hot, tasted great. Also -- and this is a big one -- it turns out Taco Bell offers margaritas! I don't know when that happened, but that's a two-star ratings boost at least. The place was very clean (this was Saturday around noon), and service was fine, despite other reviews complaining about it. Cheap, good, clean, plus alcohol? This one goes to five stars!

Yelp
I am glad that Columbia Heights has opened up a Taco Bell as you can go there for a quick bite late at night, however, this place has left a lot to be desired. The food is on par with other Taco Bells and is what you would expect from your meal, however, I have had trouble with my order each time I have been there. Both times I have been, my order has been messed up (and it took me halfway through eating a burrito to realize it was a bean burrito and not the beef I had ordered... lol). The wait time can get pretty long which is frustrating when there are other fast-food places nearby like Wawa and Chick Fillet. However, the workers were friendly and when I told them my order had been messed up, they prepared me an extra taco.

Yelp
Second of all, hi my name is Hannah I am Ava's friend she just made a review a couple minutes ago I am the one that is vegetarian. I am the one that endured hour long bathroom trips after eating my burrito with steak. The shart was so painful I cried a river of tears enough to fill the Red Sea. it felt like my my whole body was ejecting 3 inch long shards of glass. anyways, we will be coming back so watch out. maybe because we would like to eat there again or maybe because we're going to Shart in your bathrooms. who knows??? please hire us but also fr don't add meat to tacos because it really isn't nice to a sis's stomach.

Yelp
No Taco Bell takes 45 to make a chalupa, get this place some more workers, too many people waiting

Bridget B.

Yelp
Disappointed. I ordered delivery through app Mexican pizza, new TRUFF fries, and Baja blast. The Baja blast was just a cup of barely carbonated seltzer water that someone across the country whispered "Baja" into. Who poured that and didn't consider that maybe the syrup was out? Also my pizza arrived uncut. I wouldn't order from this store again.

Yelp
Beyond thrilled to have another taco bell in DC!! Yes, it's taco bell, so not gourmet food, but it has great vegetarian/vegan options and is cheap. The quality is about on par for taco bell (so pretty good on a regular day, amazing after a night out). The only reason for taking away a star is that the hours are so inconsistent! This store doesn't follow the hours posted online at all (see pic below, taken at 8pm on a weekday), but I'm hoping it'll get more consistent after it gets through the opening phase.

Andrew D.

Yelp
30 second food put together in 3 hours or less, our promise... horrific turnaround time on any order -- bring on the automated systems
google avatar

Izzy T.

Yelp
good service and good and overall experience until the already drunk guy next to us who was drinking twisted freezes started huffing nitrous out of a compressed air can. i got some mangoes with tajín outside though and they were yummy.
google avatar

James J.

Yelp
This is my second review for this location. Again perfect attention to detail. Polite staff. Went outside to smoke cigarette and food was done before I came back inside and it was a little busy. Definitely the best Bell location I've ever been to.
google avatar

Rolanda W.

Yelp
I literally came here after a night out and they closed the door on me. No problem, except they didn't tell me and I ended up walking here (after I placed my order) to someone slamming the door in my face: and in the past they've often forgotten about my order and half grilled it- so that the food is cold. It's bullshit. They should at least announce and take their listing off Uber eats at these busy times.
google avatar

Christopher T.

Yelp
Don't come late night on a weekday and expect to get anything close to what you ordered. Clearly they just didn't care about making the food correctly. Got 2 chipotle ranch grilled chicken burritos, both only had chicken and sauce. Missing lettuce tomatoes and strips. Got a fiesta burrito missing guacamole and lettuce. Taco supreme missing tomatoes.

Jada G.

Yelp
This is one of the most ghettoest, dirties, unprofessional Taco Bell's I've ever stepped foot in. The staff is extremely slow, they're loud & all around just a disgusting place to be. You'll easily wait for over 40 minutes on any single order & the food will still be cold after you wait!

Yelp
This has to be the coolest new place in Columbia Heights. I had been out of the country for six months, but when I came back to the area, I was pleasantly surprised. Not only are they open in the morning, but they stay open late until 1am I believe. What I find cool about this place compared with other locations is that they offer self-ordering kiosks. This morning I ordered the cheesy toasted breakfast burrito, and the cinnamon delights 2 pack. I also ordered the $2.00 orange juice which seemed like a good value. It took literally two minutes to have my ordered prepared and ready for me to pickup at the counter. The person behind the counter was nice and attentive. I will definitely have to come back some other time, especially because I'm so close!

Lauren C.

Yelp
Gerald was incredibly efficient and kind! My friend and I were waiting a long time for our food and he went out of his way to make sure we felt seen and important. He went above and beyond to ensure the kitchen was moving quickly

Kevin C.

Yelp
it is the worst restaurant to get to pick up orders from uber eats and doordash, they always take too long, they are not professional at all, they are inefficient, they are always moving 1 mile per month, the cashier always speaks to the costumers in an unprofessional way, many times they talk to her and she does not answer, she just makes faces, multiple times they have giving me the food completely crushed, the soda machine rarely works, there is always a large number of people waiting too long for there food, I have seen workers sit down and eat in front of the costumers when the restaurant is in a chaos of tickets, I have reached a point that when I am working at uber eats and I see that the order is from there, I never accept it, because I already know that I will be there for at least 40 minutes just for one order, once I waited more than an hour and at the end they told me that they did not have the order, when I had already asked for it multiple times I am giving it one start because yelp doesn't let me put zero

Life after Coronavirus C.

Yelp
Order through the app. Food marked as ready for pick up, waited 20 minutes after that. Order was handed over without drinks. Paid for Baja blast but machine was spewing water, told to get Mt Dew "It's the same thing". After leaving, realize items are missing. Tacos placed at bottom of bag and crushed from other food. Called store and no answer. Contacted Taco Bell through app and no help. Save yourself the stress and get a bag of chips next door at Target or Chick Fil A if it's open. If you love a gamble, try this Taco Bell. Check your items before you leave the counter. Getting the cashier's attention was rough, she clearly didn't want to be there. The Uber drivers were getting the shittiest of her attitude. 0 class and respect.

Katie B.

Yelp
The food and store itself is your average Taco Bell; however, this one serves alcohol! The Taco Bell cantina is definitely worth a shot.

Cody B.

Yelp
This Taco Bell is absolutely horrible, they don't know how to read when you order for delivery. The receipt clearly says everything you ordered... check the damn thing before you let it leave! Placed my order around 12am... I waited and it kept saying order being prepared for 2 hrs!!! And then they cancelled my order!
google avatar

Grant M.

Yelp
The service at this location is horrendous. Expect to wait at least 20 minutes for your food, even if you ordered ahead via mobile order.
google avatar

Ava R.

Yelp
First of all I have something to say... I would like to start off by saying that there were multiple items within my order that were made incorrectly. The Doritos Locos taco does not come with black beans so why my taco came with black beans over beef I will not understand. Second I was ordering with my friend who is a vegetarian and has never eaten meat in her life; she ordered a white hot ranch burrito veggie and her burrito came with steak. This was the second time that she ordered this burrito and they gave her steak when she asked for the vegetarian option. Because she unknowingly consumed the steak, she had diarrhea; the fact that it happened twice really says something about this Taco Bell. that is a whole entire issue and I honestly feel like they did that shit on purpose because why the hell would you add steak of all meats into a vegetarian burrito. In addition to this our order was placed through DoorDash because we are college students. We are currently in our finals week and are very busy with completing assignments studying for exams etc. We decided to treat ourselves to some Taco Bell because we deserve it and because we also didn't partake in The joys of partaking in 4/20 Day because we have internships to apply to and this was a hell of a letdown. We spent $55 on one burrito two tacos and one crunch wrap and three drinks just for a majority of those items to not be made correctly. We were not even fulfilled because our order took an hour to get here and the items were incorrect. We also requested to be refunded on DoorDash and only got $2.74 of refund credit which is actually not even equal to the tip that we gave and honestly what the fuck can you get at Taco Bell for $2.74 on DoorDash thank you.

Tanisha G.

Yelp
This Taco Bell messes up my order EVERYTIME. I get it delivered and they send whatever they want each time. I paid $57 just to get a bag of 3 Tacos. Not only that I will put in the notes in all caps that I'm allergic to tomatoes and they send a box full of what smh. Any Taco Bell is better than this one!

Quentin S.

Yelp
Honestly get in a car and drive to the next nearest Taco Bell cause this place regularly doesn't get the job done. Last time I ordered I was missing three items, no sauce, and the things I got were just made sloppy. We all crave the taco, but when I'm willing to go miles away for a better experience, know that it took some major failures from this joint.

John N.

Yelp
This restaurant is trash. Ordered twice from them for delivery and both times did not include sauce packets. Never ordering from here again

Patrick M.

Yelp
If alcoholic drinks are not allowed to leave the store why are they available for purchase when you choose "take out"? Seems like an easy option to not have available under the take out menu if they in fact cannot be taken out or atleast a warning before ordering that says they cannot be taken to go. Get yall act together.

Divante B.

Yelp
For the first time visiting a Catina I enjoyed the alcoholic beverages. However, management has refused to address the on going homeless problem of patrons staying inside and walking up to customers asking for them to buy them food. As I'm trying to order this is what happened. I think that this is very unsafe and unfortunate that manage my allows customers to be subjected to this. I do believe D.C has an on going homeless problems and a lot of social economic reforms need to address these problems. But as someone who cares about social distance this made me very uncomfortable. Please management fix this.

Yelp
This was the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. First of all we waited for 35 mins for our food, we ordered to go with drinks. The kitchen, fully Visable had sauce smeared all over the walls, trash can and floor and chips and tortillas all over the floor. It was DISGUSTING. I've been to several Taco Bell cantinas and they have all been pleasant. This one is a disgrace. We were given our food after waiting 30 mins, we asked for our drinks and the guy looked at us like we were nuts. He then told us they were out of the margarita we ordered and tequila (the liquor we ordered). We finally got our drinks (didn't taste like they're was any booze in the ones ordered without extra shots). Then we tried to leave and we're TOLD WE WERENT ALLOWED TO LEAVE WITH TOGO DRINKS??? The security guard told us Taco Bell attached our IDs to our drinks and we would be arrested if we left with them. Then freaked us out told us we needed to talk to a manager and get a Taco Bell bag to put them in. The manager refused to give them to us... how does that make sense when we ordered Togo food and drinks? The food was disgusting as well, my boyfriend got sick a few hours after we left. This was the worst Taco Bell I've ever been too and I hope it gets a total reboot. For only being open for 3 weeks there's no way y'all could ever pass a health inspection with that kitchen.
