This Taco Bell is conveniently located right off of Route 440 near the Hudson Mall, so it is easily accessible while you're running errands, heading home, etc. I have been to this location a few times, and none of the visits have been stellar, but again, I will pass through the drive-thru out of convenience on the way home every so often.
I tend to always use the mobile app to place my order so that, by the time I arrive, I can pick up right away, or the order is almost ready to go. However, I placed the order at least 20 mins in advance, but when I got there, I was told that my order was not ready yet and to "please wait in the front". Okay, that's fine; if I have to wait, I'll wait. It's not the end of the world. I parked the car in the front and took a sip of my "Dr. Pepper". I say that brand loosely because I took one sip and almost choked. It was apparent that the syrup had run out in the fountain machine because I got colored, unflavored carbonated water in the cup; a far cry from the Dr. Pepper I requested. I took it in stride and decided, since I was waiting for my food order anyway, that I would get up and and just let the employees know and request something different. I got up and walked inside and I found a couple of employees working behind the counter.
Now, as someone who used to work in the fast food industry, I understand that everyone has an assigned job and that each job has specific tasks associated with it. I get it, I really do, however, there wasn't ANY kind of acknowledgement to my existence standing there. Not a single, "hello" or "is there anything we can help you with?" There was nothing. The better part is that I know that the employees saw me because they were talking about me right in front of me still without addressing me.
If I wasn't waiting on an order I already paid for, I would have absolutely walked out of there. I no longer wanted the food, I no longer wanted anything from there. I was disgusted with the way they were treating me despite how polite I was from start to finish. I don't know what the issue is, but this isn't what will inspire me to come back. And a tip to anyone reading this? You shouldn't either; you would be better off driving to a location that is further away but delivers better service.
