Taco Bell's New Vegan Crunchwrap Doesn't Taste Like Meat—Just Like the Original | Bon Appétit

"Taco Bell’s going vegan with a new take on its beloved Crunchwrap. The fast-food chain is beta testing a meatless and dairy-free version in Los Angeles, New York, and Orlando, to potentially roll out to a wider audience down the line. When this Vegan Crunchwrap launched yesterday, I knew I needed to track it down." - ByLi Goldstein

Google
Way way more expensive than a regular Taco Bell. I also asked for a cup for tap water and they said they don’t give out cups for water. So you have to pay extra to get hydrated — pretty gross. Would definitely avoid this Taco Bell

Staff is so helpfully and very nice. Restaurant is clean and food is really good.

On our way out we had our dinner, got quick and easy

Google
Parking lot is atrocious. The crunchy tacos were soggy. My Mexican pizza was on the bottom of the bag with a bunch of tacos and burritos stacked on top of it. The box was smashed and half the pizza was glued to the top of the box.

Google
Food wasn’t bad, but the staff were very disrespectful and slow to make the order. When I receive my order, a few things were missing such as food and drinks, but when I came back and asked with the receipts proof, I was told that whoever gave me the order was a different person and they’re not able to prove whether or not I received it and as a result wasn’t able to get my items. I paid for a full meal and basically got half. Horrible service did not recommend literally any other one would be much better.

Google
WARNING: 2-4 times more expensive This is an amusement park Taco Bell and the prices are much higher than normal. A regular Crunchy Taco is $4.29 A cheesy bean and rice burrito is $4.99 - normally $1.59

Google
Super fast service and they got my order right on the first time. It has the full Taco Bell menu unlike the Panda Express next door.

Makira

Google
I got 3 cheesy bean and rice burritos, a Dorito taco and a soda and my total was $39. That meal should cost max $15. The inflation for being in city walk is atrocious. I could go to a sit down restaurant for that and get more food and better food.

Yelp
Overpriced taco bell decentness... I came in recently for some fresca burritos that weren't bad but paid roughly seven dollars for two... never realized how big of a mark up there is at the UCW location. It did seem like they might of overcharged me, but I know this is a specialty location so I have no way to really know... The food is A-okay feel like the quality isn't as rich and fatty as other locations... really lacking in flavor and portion. My food came out... probably within 3 minutes of ordering so the service isn't bad at all the TB UWC crew in fact is personable. The layout is nice and wide open and plenty of places to sit on the food court patio.

Yelp
Overpriced TB, about a +46% location based pricing. A combo that normally costs about $13 is $19. Kiosk ordering only. The employees are friendly but are on autopilot as my kiosk order was not followed with requested exclusion edits. The food is the same quality as any other TB. For the pricing you could enjoy a restaurant meal at a nearby establishment.

Yelp
Ordered their new cheeze it item , looked horrible , looks like they just went ahead and threw all the toppings on , looks like a blob

Yelp
My 5 year old and I stopped in after a long fun day at Universal Studios. Fair to say we were tired and hungry! Both of us require some basic customization. No sauce in the cheese quesadilla for her and veggie swap for the meat items for me. I asked the customer service person at the counter if they could help at the counter instead of me ordering from the kiosk and they said their boss doesn't like them to help. Literally the customer service person wasn't willing to offer customer service. I went on to order 3 items at the kiosk (2 of which were customized) and a bottle of water. $25.47 total (4.79 for the bean burrito by the way!) It took a little time. Plus I had an exhausted little girl to monitor. I asked for a cup of ice for the $3.49 bottle of water I purchased. They said no. They said they didn't have cups to give me. There were cups behind them. So I asked again and said you're not willing to give me a cup of ice for water I bought and they said no. I asked for a refund. They had to go get their boss to refund me. He didn't say a word to me. And he didn't even refund me the full amount (I rounded up like I always do at Taco Bell.) No decency. No any kind of niceties. Just a grump who rather turn people away than give a cup of ice for a purchased bottle of water and food! It was obvious we were in for a trash experience the moment people who are there to help actually weren't willing to help. I would tell that person who seemed afraid of her boss that if you're in a customer service position and your boss says don't offer customer service maybe it's a bad example to set. We frequent Taco Bell often enough. My daughter loves the cheese quesadilla without the sauce. This store gouges people ($4.79) for a bean burrito, isn't willing to actually help the customer and then declines offering ice in a cup for the drink that's purchased?! Trash experience.

Yelp
This place is absurdly overpriced and highway robbery. I get that we are at City Walk but c'mon, double the price for the same food you can get outside? I wanted a quick bite and saw Taco Bell, instantly craving some cheesy gordita crunches. I asked for two and the total came to $13. I have never paid that much at any other Taco Bell, the total for two is usually $6 and under. But $13? Forreal? Service was bad too. Nobody has any life. No smiles, no enthusiasm, barely mumbling names and orders. The one star actually goes to the food because it was made well. But there are plenty of other places, though overpriced, but at least worth it on City Walk.

Yelp
David is super rude I came in with my order on my phone and he was like we don't accept that here, he didn't even know what he was looking at secondly he asked me to move so he can take someone else's order because I was holding up the line. I actually didn't move and I stood there as he was taking the other clients order I mean why why I move out the line when he hasn't helped me, anyways he's so rude other female was nice he should be fired !! It was my first time at this Taco Bell and I had a bad experience I work at universal studios so I'll be coming here for lunch but not if he's around I'll make a scene is he's there anyways DAVID SUCKS

Melissa R.

Yelp
Don't bother going here. Prices are double regular Taco Bell prices outside. They also won't even give you a water cup. What's the point of having a water button on the fountain machine if you won't even provide water. Not worth it.

Pattern M.

Yelp
So slow. Employee was rude. Informed me they don't provide water cups to customers. Prices double- hate this place.

Yelp
Outstanding customer service here. The people here are just so nice and patient. Food is delicious too.

Yelp
Hispanic lady at the front cashier always has an attitude. I work around the same place and every time I come she acts like I'm bothering her . I love Taco Bell so Illl keep coming but definitely need to work on her people skills. Or maybe put her in the back where she doesn't have to deal with people .

Yelp
I got mf food poisoning from this location. My supreme Doritos locos Taco was 4.17 and that b was small and not worth it. Ruined the rest of my time at universal studios. Thank you thank you

Yelp
The food is fresh and is really good quality and that's because of their location. Being on citywalk means that they're always busy so they have to keep prepping and cooking. Taco Bell food always tastes good, but nothing spectacular (it's fast food) but eating it here was actually enjoyable. It's been a long time where I could say I loved how amazingly good taco bell tasted without being drunk. Kudos to this location, I wish all other taco bells had higher quality and better tasting food.

Yelp
This Taco Bell is the best Taco Bell ever they have great service always fast and I love their moving bell! Will return soon!

Daniel G.

Yelp
This Taco Bell is very expensive. It's nearly $4 for a bean and cheese burrito. My meal without a drink was over $16. It's ok food but the prices are quite unreal for the quality.

Alex C.

Yelp
Mmmm yo quiero Taco Bell. Muy delicioso. Come here if you need a quick bite without breaking the bank.
google avatar

Sydney M.

Yelp
First of all, the prices are ridiculous. I get it, it's in Universal Citywalk, but when a potato soft taco is usually on the $1 menu you don't really want to spend over $3 on it elsewhere - especially when the staff pretends the item doesn't exist. The item is clearly on the menu (in all it's $3+ glory, or I would have complained a price was being made up) but they told my friend they had no vegetarian tacos and they only had beef, and she had to push for a potato soft taco. If you want to be this overpriced, have better staff training maybe?

Yelp
I ordered three tacos and a cheese quesadilla. Price: $22! Wow. There is nothing special about this Taco Bell. There are other options around here

Jess O.

Yelp
Avoid this place at all cost! I ordered some nachos and l was eating them when l felt something chewy I spit it out and it was gum! We had seen one of the cooks chewing into something but we never thought our food would have someone else's gum in there with covid going on this os a huge concern for us! I will also contact the corporate regarding this as the manager tried to tell us it was cheese when my nachos had yellow cheese not white! So disgusting!!!!!!

Destiny J.

Yelp
I gave a star because I have to but the cashier(alena) is rude as hell I don't get why she's working here if she don't like her job that's not my problem ... I came in here for the T-Mobile Tuesday free nachos and she took almost 10 minutes and still didn't give me anything and she questioned if I even out the right location then she goes to the back starts gossiping .. she needs to fix her damm attitude.

Yelp
The food is always tasty. They deliver a consistent product. Best meal at the city walk food court.

Yelp
Excellent service. I work here at universal and have been to this location multiple times. The manager is always super friendly as well as the rest of the staff! No complaints

Yelp
I just went to this Taco Bell to get my free T-Mobile Tuesday item, like I do EVERY WEEK. Today, since I was here early, I decided to order breakfast. I got a confirmation email stating that my order was ready, so I went to the counter to pick up my order. The male person that was there rudely told me that they don't serve breakfast at that location. Ok, no problem. I asked for the free taco and he asked which one. I told him the free one from T-Mobile. He asked if I wanted regular or supreme. I know it's not either of those. I told him I wanted the Doritos taco...the free one from T-Mobile. He again told me that they don't serve breakfast. Huh? I just want my taco. I said screw it and walked out. As I was walking out he muttered something in Spanish. I walked back in and asked what he said. He wanted to know what I said. I told him I told you three times what I wanted but you aren't giving good customer service. He continued to argue with me then two other people came from the back to see what was going on. Other customers came in and witnessed the commotion. I decided to leave and go to Panda Express instead. It's always a strange experience every time I come to this location. It's hit or miss. I won't go back. The male person that was arguing with me wasn't wearing a name badge, but he is an older person with salt and pepper hair. VERY RUDE.

John D.

Yelp
I find this establishment to be very unethical. They charged me a couple of dollars more to order 3 tacos instead of a 3 taco combo with a drink. The cashier didn't even tell me that it was cheaper to order the combo. I have never seen this before at any other fast food restaurant. Not only was it more but they charged a ridiculous amount for 3 hard shell tacos; approximately $13!!! This is absurd! The cashier and his colleague we're extremely rude and I think they even poisoned my food. My wife had stomach issues for two days. Avoid this place!!

Yelp
Love their nachos XX-l. But more expensive than at other locations being that it's at a touristy spot. Clean place and friendly staff though.
