Where to Eat Well at Charleston’s Beaches

"A visit to Taco Boy is all about the experience. The interiors are lively and full of fun details. It offers a long list of tacos with unexpected fillings, like the Korean beef tacos stuffed with kimchi and grilled flank steak or the sauteed shrimp tacos come with ancho chile yogurt sauce and cabbage. On a nice day, enjoy the patio with a few friends and a frozen screwdriver to go with the other selections." - Erin Perkins

Love that this place is close tot he beach. They have multiple bars. Rooftop was closed during the day on a Friday but sat at the bar instead. The bartender was great and conversational. The chips and guac were just average, as well as the margaritas. The tacos were delicious. I tried a crispy avocado and firecracker shrimp taco which were both delicious. I would definitely come back for a quick bite off the beach but would likely just stick to tacos.

We had a great dinner. Grace did a fantastic job. She relocated us. after it started raining. We were a large group and we were put upstairs. Her section was downstairs but she didn't miss a beat! Thanks to everyone for a great time!

The smells drew us in after a couple of hours on Folly Beach. The tacos were amazing! We tried both the Chicken, Bacon, Ranch and the Carne Asada as well as the cheeseburger quesadilla. So flavorful and filling. We sat in the bar area with a nice breeze coming in. Our server was also very sweet. Thank you!

We were so excited to come to this restaurant, but left very disappointed. The atmosphere is nice, that’s what actually brought us in. But the music was so extremely loud, we couldn’t hear neither our waitress nor each other. It was overwhelming! Food doesn’t match the price. Nothing special or authentic. But the worst part was the wait! From the moment we ordered our food till they brought it to the table past an hour!!!!!

Google
I used to love this place sooo much mainly for the vibes but recently the food just hasn’t been as good as it used to be. granted the restaurant has a huge wrap around porch with a rooftop so the location is great and all the staff are super accommodating but the amount we paid for four tacos and two drinks was a bit steep… especially for a beach bar.

Thursday evening 7:45pm, we came for drinks and live music. We made sure to double check if the live music was happening and the assured us that they were setting up. We had a couple of drinks waited an hour and left. Came back 9:30 and still no live music. Pretty cool place and it looks like it could be a lot of fun.

Google
This taco boy is huge compared to the one downtown. Our bartender Colin was so friendly and down to earth. We got a couple margarita and a small snack - their trio chip dip hit the spot with salsa, queso and house-made guacamole! We sat at the main bar downstairs and it was a nice atmosphere. A bit pricy but expected since you’re right on folly beach but it’s a good vibe.

Google
Just got done at the beach and was hungry then saw this place. It not only draws your eyes to it, but you walk to the hostess station and you’re instantly greeted with a smile. Making you feel welcomed. If it’s a nice day out or night I recommend sitting outside if possible. It’s such a vibe. The food, oh man the food is just fantastic. Our waitress Kaylee was fantastic, such a lovely girl. Being a former waitress myself, she had done her job amazingly. I would rate this place more than 5 stars if I could. I highly recommend eating here if you haven’t before. :)

Yelp
Taco Boy is steps away from the Folly Beach Pier! We were able to be seated outdoors for lunch without a reservation, although sadly their rooftop is only open on the weekends. They have a pretty big menu with plenty of vegetarian options. I loved that they had both vegan chorizo and jackfruit! I love jackfruit! My burrito was great, very filling. The jackfruit was on the sweet side (instead of savory), but the hot sauce helped balance it. We didn't like the drinks here. I tried the pineapple margarita, it had no flavor and tasted like it also had no alcohol. Kind of disappointing. They were also do not have tortas anymore and were out of the paloma I wanted. Seems like they're going through a bit of a menu change. Overall fine for a quick beach lunch!

Yelp
First of all, I completely adore the vibe of this spot! So cute and eclectic! Tons of pretty colors and fun things to look at while you eat! The food was pretty good, I had the chip and salsa platter and a chicken tinga taco. The chips and salsa were really only ok, which was really disappointing to me. :( However the chicken tinga taco was delicious!! Our food also came super quickly! Fabulous service as well!

Yelp
Unfortunately, we had a disappointing experience at the Folly TB. We've been going to both TBs for a decade and have ALWAYS had a great experience. The new(er) larger space may be too much volume to provide patrons/groups with a great dining experience. Christina S. was a bit overwhelmed, asking me several times about my order and returning to tell me the 86 list. One of the kids' tacos was delivered without meat. Overall, the food was unflavorful and simply thrown together (we've always loved TB's presentation). I ordered enchiladas and added a lot of (needed) hot sauce. My friend, the birthday boy, left half of his quesadilla on the plate. When the Toast app/POS was brought up, I asked Christina if the tip was included because the total sounded high and my only % tip options were 7, 5, and 3. Christina clearly said "no." I tipped over 20% and emailed myself the receipt. Yes, the tip was included (perfectly reasonable for a group) and (because I was told "no") I also tipped over the inflated total. I ended up tipping 53%! Yikes. We'll give the Folly TB a while to work out the bugs before we return.

Yelp
Perfectly placed right across from folly beach access stopped here , and grabbed lunch before a beach day. My group enjoyed sitting inside at the bar while also getting a great view of the patio through the outside window. They have $5 margaritas on Tuesday and are also able to make virgin drinks! I enjoyed the crab and shrimp empanada the highlight was the aoli it came with for dipping. I also ordered the rice bowl and enjoyed with their stores hot sauce. The beans and rice were somewhat flavorful, but the sauce helped the dish.

Yelp
4.5 stars We stopped in here on a weekday night (paid parking) and virtually no wait. We got dried chickpeas brought to our table as an appetizer. I got the quesabirria taco (add $2 for the quesa) and the grilled shrimp taco with cojita and key lime crema (sub the crispy shrimp) for $14 without the sides. My dad got the baja taco plate (also $14 but with rice and beans) with 1 mahi and 1 shrimp. I could see where on a nice day, sitting outside would be a fun option. 2024 #14

Yelp
Super cute spot to grab lunch! We sat inside, upstairs with the doors/windows open. It was delightful!!! I ordered the two taco plate including the carnitas taco, and birria taco, along with street style corn off the cob. The non alcoholic beer selection was slim 2 to be exact; however, they offer one of the better craft selection NA beers, imo. (Athletic Co)
google avatar

Christina B.

Yelp
The menu here is very deceiving. "Fresh made in house blue corn tortillas" are actually store bought white corn tortillas. Al pastor tacos with "grilled pineapple" had no pineapple on them, and were so salty I didn't want to finish them. "Pan roasted corn off the cob" in the esquites is watery, lukewarm canned corn. Marg was watery and flavorless. It wasn't even busy on a Friday around 3pm but the service was lacking. It looks cute on the outside but that's about the only good thing

Yelp
Tried to stop for a drink to cool down after walking in the heat for a bit. Sat down to a barely crowded bar while two bartenders ignored us. Both left the bar area to get towels and perform other duties while they had customers waiting to put in drink orders. They seemed too young to care about providing good customer service. One proceeded to take care of someone else that came in after we did, and when I said were ready to order the other one mumbled something and proceeded to go take another couples order that came in after us as well! I can understand trying to keep up when the bar is busy, however, not knowing how to manage your customers as they were seated and performing tasks that could have waited until you served the patrons are a clear indication of poor customer service skills. With the mediocre reviews, find somewhere else to spend your money like we did.
google avatar

Amanda G.

Yelp
We made reservations for 8 of us in advance knowing how busy it is during the season. I will start by saying. They weren't ready when we arrived. Which i know can be outside of control at times being in the service industry previously. But we waited way too long to be waited on and our server was not attentive. Everything took way too long to come out including drinks. Our food all came out at different times and some of us were done eating before others food arrived. The food was mediocre at best. Being one of the forefront taco places I expected way better. I paid $4 to add queso to my tacos and it was barely even on there. Also the cost for the food based on what you get was also not worth it. $14 for 2 small tacos with barely any rice and beans.... The quesadillas were all good but not worth the price either. The frozen margaritas tasted watered down. We only had an opportunity to have one drink as our server didn't return for a refresh. The options for food places are slim here and so you really have expectations that what you do have to choose from is set pretty high. And considering the place was empty we also expected way better service. This was a huge disappointment.

Yelp
Taco boy on Folly is our favorite of the 3 Charleston locations. How could you not love the colorful cocktails, the coolest beachy vibe, and the fantastically unique tacos? This casual 3-story restaurant with great food and even better service is going to put you in a good mood every time. Outdoor music on the weekends, several patios, and private rental space available too.
google avatar

Chloe T.

Yelp
Love the corn here. Sometimes it takes FOREVER to get your food, but the wait staff is nice. Love sitting out on the porch and feeling the breeze and people watching. My husband and brother always get the nachos and birria tacos. I like the fish taco and carne asada tacos. Definitely recommend coming to taco boy if you've got the time to relax and wait on your food.

Wesley R.

Yelp
The food at taco boy is INCREDIBLE. The flavors are bold, vibrant with taste and flair. We had a party of 12 with varying food allergies and preferences and they managed to meet and exceed expectations of every appetite- even the kids. 10/10, we will definitely be coming again. Also- they have great vegan options!

Scott P.

Yelp
Place is out right dirty. We were seated in a booth that had chip pieces all over it. That makes sense as we received no plates for chips and salsa. Looked around and food all over the floor. And this is lunchtime on a Sunday! We shared a platter of tacos and nobody brought plates! So we just ate over the table. We won't be back.

Sophie W.

Yelp
We came and went right to the rooftop bar and Collin was our bartender and he was fantastic. His customer service and hospitality was absolutely unreal, he made our experience 100x better. If ever in Folly Beach again will definitely be going back to the rooftop!!

Yelp
Taco Boy provides great vibes and is a really good price point. Drinks run $9-12 and tacos are ~$5-6. We put our name down and despite multiple open tables had a thirty minute wait (we're assuming due to low staff). We ended up going to the third floor where you have a quieter, ocean view but have to serve yourself at the bar. We were really happy with this decision and loved the space. They even have live music upstairs which just added to the experience. We got a variety of tacos with our favorites being the birria, Buffalo chicken ranch and firecracker shrimp. While we loved the tacos I'm deducting a star because the chips were genuinely bad. You do have to pay for them here, so we got the trio dipping sauces but the chips were so stale it was hard to eat. I don't know if this was a fluke thing, we did ask for more and they were slightly better but still bad (multiple chips bended instead of breaking). All in all I'd return, hoping the chips were a fluke experience.

Yelp
Our family was looking for some good Mexican food after a long day at the beach and this Taco joint did not disappoint. The waitress was very nice and super knowledgeable about their menu.

Laura M.

Yelp
We dined in the other evening & had the most lovely time. Our server Ella was so wonderful, knowledgeable and kind. Save room for the best churros on the planet! Smack yo mama good!
google avatar

Katharine M.

Yelp
Good food, strong drinks, and a great view! The bartenders are always kind and personable. One of my favorite folly spots.
google avatar

Haley S.

Yelp
Great ambiance-- the coolest art work, sculptures, windows, and wallpaper textiles. The menu is awesome. Very affordable with several dozen options, all of which sound good. I went with a trio platter. I didn't like the fried chicken taco but the surf & turf was phenomenal. Baja fish was also a fan favorite. Excellent service from Avery as well.

Yelp
We had a great time here! It was my friend's bachelorette party and she wanted a fun beach weekend. Taco Boy played a part in our fun beach weekend. We came later in the evening and the atmosphere was pretty lively. On all three levels and outside, there were people having a good time. This is a fun nightlife place to check out when in Folly Beach!

Christina C.

Yelp
I got the pineapple margarita and it was delicious. Service was very slow I had to wait until my food came out for my server to get me a straw for it. We also had to wait a long time for drink refills and my husband got his food and was waiting for a drink before he could even eat his meal. We got the dip trio which had salsa which was very good a white queso which was also very good but the guacamole was flavorless. It needed salt, lime and cilantro. I got the crispy I avocado taco which is so so good. Perfect sweet and spicy flavor and the citrus slaw compliments the avocado to give it a perfect texture. The Baja taco was okay. I will say they put a generous amount of fish in it but it was a little dry and I wish they put more sauce.

Yelp
We were in Folly the last week of September, so after the summer rush! We visited around 4pm there was no wait and not crowded. The service and our server Taylor were very friendly and gave us the right amount of attention! We were able to enjoy the gorgeous view from a booth at the bar. The food was great! We travel to Folly quite a bit but this was our first visit it will definitely be a go to place when we return!
google avatar

Yelp
Food is on point . Service top notch. Handcrafted cocktails. And they killed it with the aesthetic. Our server, Sam, was super helpful with recommendations and even picked up on dietary preferences as I ordered items without tortillas and cheese. Spicy marg is a must have as well as the Chicken Tenga and Carne Asada Tacos. My daughter loved the quesadilla as well. And their house made Taco Boy Danger Hot Sauce is delish! Super cute, fun, and yummy outdoor dining experience. Highly underrated.
google avatar

Gloria M.

Yelp
I know I tend to have a flair for the dramatics- I either leave five stars or one. I like to support restaurants by saying how delish their food is, but usually it's not really Michelin quality food. With that said, I mean every word of what I'm about to admit. I ate the greatest taco of my life last night at Taco Boy. This place is a vegetarian's paradise as you can get any of their tacos with tofu substituted. The taco that changed my life was the tempura avocado with fried tofu. Even if you're not a vegetarian, get it!!! I'd return to South Carolina just for this incredible establishment. Absolute perfection on a plate!

Yelp
Went in on a Sunday. It was busy and understaffed but they handled the pressure admirably. Food was great. Beer was cold. We had an enjoyable lunch.
google avatar

Catrina B.

Yelp
Ambiance is really upbeat super cool decor. Sit inside or out you can't go wrong. Service is decent the food is really good. I had the app trio and a taco chicken tinga. Good place to have a drink and enjoy the beachy vibes while enjoying some good Mexican food.
google avatar

Yelp
Ambiance (4/5): We seated on the outdoor porch after putting our names in for an hour wait (weekend waits even at 5pm are 1 hour long!!) The dining scene is very lively and has cool decorations. They also have a rooftop bar area with views (age 21+). Service (5/5): We had a new waitress who still did a spectacular job in getting our drink and orders in. Unsure of how busy the inside was but we felt like everything was timed very well. We had two brides in our group and the manager was kind enough to send over 2 free shots!! Food: Street corn (5/5): The cotija cheese on a corn on the cob was delish! We ended up ordering two! Nachos (4/5): There was a generous helping of guac. The guac too lime forward for me Taco Platter (4/5): I ordered the 3 taco platter with beans and rice. The birria was by far my favorite and the dipping stew was extremely flavorful. The two others were also pretty tasty (baja fish and carne asada) There was a bit of tartness to the rice side that I didn't love. There was a nice spice to the black beans which amplified the flavor!
google avatar

Kalyn M.

Yelp
Hard not to love the location! Food is hit or miss depending on what you order, but the overall quality has declined a bit since they moved to their new location on Folly. App trio used to be wonderful, but is just average now. What you can't go wrong with are the drinks - a lot to choose from and they're all fabulous! Favorite tacos are the fried chicken and the grilled fish ... don't forget to use their "danger sauce" if you like to make it spicy!
google avatar

Laura E.

Yelp
This place has a crazy long wait! On Friday night around 6 pm it was 2 hours (no call ahead seating or reservations) and even at 5 we waited for an hour before getting the text saying our table was ready. The nice thing is you can send one part of your party over to get on this list while you hang out on the beach. We were seated outside on the patio so didn't get the chance to see all of the inside but they have two bar areas: one on the first floor of the restaurant and one on the roof (with great views!). We ordered chips and guac as well as street corn to start. The chips and guac were nothing special but the corn (note it's on the cob) was delicious! I ordered a personal one to come with my tacos. They have an assortment of tacos including a few vegan options which was nice. The price is also pretty decent considering portion size. I really liked the tacos. The shrimp in the firecracker shrimp taco had a weird texture but still tasted fine. Our waitress was super nice and on top of her game even though it was her first day. Afterwards we went to hang out at the rooftop bar. There was only one bartender so the wait was a little long. It was very windy out so everyone was packed on the inside half of the roof, but this is probably a fantastic place to chill during the day and warmer nights! I'd love to come back in the summer.
google avatar

Matthew T.

Yelp
You feel like you're in a tropical location at the Folly Beach location of Taco Boy. It's a beautiful retreat from the average and the usual. Inside and outside dining options. Our service here was also excellent and very kind. We love that you can get two-taco platters with rice and beans for $14. I opted for Mexican street corn with my two tacos for an additional dollar. Lots of drink options. I'd suggest parking nearby at one of the digital-metered Park Folly locations through the Passport Parking app. This was a great experience we'd absolutely visit again. We hope to visit the west Asheville, NC location sometime.
google avatar

Jim H.

Yelp
Came here at night. The place is a little of the beaten path, but you won't have a hard time finding it due to their lighting that's very recognizable. Didn't have any food but the drinks came out at a decent pace and Tres Leches wasn't half bad even though we got it to go. I really enjoyed the ambiance. All the lighting and masks on the wall just makes this place look so unique. Look forward to trying out the food next time. Last thing is that this place has a flight of stairs you have to climb, so I would recommend coming here at the beginning of a bar crawl and not at the end to make life easier.
google avatar

Charlotte G.

Yelp
I always love going to Taco Boy! This was the first time I've been to the Folly Beach location though. I have to say the restaurant is large and definitely feels beachy. Lots of places to look over and get some water views. This location was VERY busy though and I was here with a large group of 5-6 people for dinner so there was a substantial wait for a table. We did get to have appetizers and drinks on the balcony though so there is space to wait. Whenever I go to a Taco Boy location I always get the tacos. This time I got the fried fish taco, the fried chicken taco, and the firecracker shrimp taco. The firecracker shrimp taco was my surprise favorite this time. I haven't gotten it before and I definitely will again next time.
google avatar

Jackson T.

Yelp
Do not come at night unless you are already drunk, prepared to wait, or enjoy being ignored for extended periods by bar staff. I still don't know what the food tastes like because I've been waiting 45 min for a table that never manifested then another 45 min for food that still has yet to arrive. At least the sea breeze was a nice reprieve from the slowest service.
google avatar

Victoria B.

Yelp
Consistently cool spot. The colorful, tropical vibe alone keeps me coming back. Staff is always friendly and attentive. Drinks are well balanced - I learned there are two days a week staff comes in for "prep shifts" as many of their syrups, mixes, etc are homemade. Food here is decent, never blows me out of the water.

Jennifer N.

Yelp
Delicious. Went 2x while we were in Folly Beach for vacation. I am still craving the chips/guacamole, firecracker shrimp tacos and the spicy margaritas Service was excellent
google avatar

Molly M.

Yelp
Best mango margarita I ever had. Great vibe, food very good too. The Mexican street corn is amazing - I'll be back for another one of those.
google avatar

Hannah H.

Yelp
Taco Boy 2.0! A 16 year staple on Folly Beach, we've always loved Taco Boy! Their new location is gorgeous and instantly transports you to an island in the Caribbean. It's an open air concept with indoor\outdoor dining options and fun, funky colorful artwork and decor. Many, many options for tacos but I got the Baja fish which had fried fish, homemade slaw and an herb aioli, the Korean beef with kimchi, and the carnitas! Everything was fresh and delicious! Can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Alyssa B.

Yelp
Excellent service and delicious, fresh food. This is probably the best meal I've had at a Taco Boy, and I've been to their previous location on Folly, as well as the downtown and Summerville locations. Definitely one of the best meals you can find on Folly, and we were able to get a table without a wait around 6 pm on a Saturday.

Brooke B.

Yelp
Food was absolutely amazing. Despite the service or how busy the crowd is the food IS WORTH IT. Could not rave more about how amazing these tacos are. No matter which you order they are absolutely amazing. Chips and queso is also delicious. So so good

Jessica D.

Yelp
We have been coming to Taco Boy for years, since 2019 and it has been one of the highlights of our Folly Beach trip. We just visited tonight and we were VERY disappointed. The Mexican corn went from a delightful cob of corn to a bowl of frozen corn that did not have 1/2 the flavor or crunch. All of our food was cold and tasteless. The black beans appeared to have been poured from a can and were as equally as tasteless as the rice. We will never go back and are really sad and disappointed.

Shades T.

Yelp
I visited the place with my brothers and saw that they had barilla tacos on the menu. Being a fan of barilla tacos we reserved our spot in line and it was predicted that we would wait around an hour to be seated. We were seated around 35 minutes after which was a pleasant surprise. The service was good however the food and price was lackluster to say the least. For some reason the barilla tacos tasted of cinnamon which was unpleasant in my opinion. The portions were pathetic and the prices were atrocious for what you were getting. Overall while the interior was nice and pleasant the food just was not good enough to charge what they did. It was not a good value and especially not for the food we received.

Lynne M.

Yelp
We went to Taco Boy last year and had a wonderful experience. Today, the food was fine but the service was terrible. We were sitting at the bar. Bar was not cleaned off. My water glass has lipstick on it. When I pointed this out to one of the bartenders, she took it away but did not bring me a new glass of water. Took a while for our plates to be taken away. Had to ask for hot sauce twice. Bartender asked if we wanted another beer and we said no, the check. Several minutes later, same discussion. Only worker who seemed to care was the bus boy. Bought a bottle of their hot sauce on the way out. Was told it was $8.72. I gave him a $20. Guy had to ask someone how to take cash. Finally went to the bar to get me my change. Handed me $11 and said "here is you change". Guess he decided to keep the $.28.

Yelp
Went to Folly Beach for a week and decided to check out Taco Boy. Located about a block from the ocean, this place has a cool tiki vibe. They do get busy in the summer. I went with my wife and sat at the bar because the table wait time was 35 minutes. The open air bar setup is very chill. It can get hot on the open side of the bar because the sun hits it directly. The bartenders were nice and island friendly. I ordered a Contigo draft beer which was the signature beer for the restaurant. It was refreshing and mellow. My wife tried the pineapple margarita. It was sweet and tasty. For food we shared the nachos with chicken. They were good but not mind blowing. Not as much flavor as other places that serve nachos. That being said, we know this a local towny kind of bar and restaurant. The food and drinks are good for a summer afternoon at the beach. I would recommend Taco Boy if you're hungry and just want a bite to eat or something to wet your whistle.
google avatar

Tori E.

Yelp
Delicious food! Great vibes! Perfect location because it's so close to the beach! I came here for a quick bite to eat before my photo session with my clients at the end of Folly! My server was fabulous & the food was delectable! I definitely will keep this place close to my radar next time I come back!

Yelp
This place is popping at night!! Eating and drinking and having a good time located in downtown Folly Beach. Multi level decks for seating outside. Yummy drinks and delicious food

Paula L.

Yelp
First of all let me say we come to this Taco boy all the time and bring our friends and out of town guests. It is a great location and we always ask for the octopus room with the bar and today was no exception. We come so often that our kids give us gift cards. So today we were expecting our usual dinner but that was not the case. We sat at the bar had drinks which were ok then ordered our usual appetizer nachos with chicken.. it was a huge disappointment. The chips were stale and pale colored, there was no salsa, no chopped tomatoes no lettuce just glops of sour cream mixed with queso which was cold that was piled between stale chips and black beans. The chicken used to be shredded but now was a burnt hunk of dried meat chopped up hidden under quacamole. The presentation was horrible and we didn't order an entree because the appetizer was so horrid. Whoever was in the kitchen needs a lesson in making nachos... I mean if you can't get fresh nachos at a Mexican restaurant ... what?? Stay home and make them yourself. I am so disappointed:(
google avatar

Cole W.

Yelp
As someone who appreciates good service and quality food, I had certain expectations when visiting Taco Boy. However, our experience was highly disappointing, to say the least. Our main point of interaction, Justin, was notably discourteous and unprofessional. While ordering to-go, we were patient and organized with our requests, expecting the usual hospitality one hopes for in such a setting. Yet, Justin fell far short of even basic courtesy, which cast a negative cloud over the entire experience. Service plays a crucial role in shaping any dining experience, and it is regrettable to report that Taco Boy faltered on this front. It's disheartening to see such a disregard for customer satisfaction from someone who should be a representative of the restaurant's ethos. In the spirit of fairness, I hope that this review serves as a wake-up call for Taco Boy's management. Better staff training might help improve the restaurant's image and future customer experiences. For now, though, I am unable to recommend Taco Boy, given our unfortunate encounter.

Kelly O.

Yelp
Worst food I've had in years. Not kidding. The fish tacos were like a hard, cold brick. I'm sad to write this but such a greatly designed space in such a wonderful beachside community deserves better. For starters ditch the frozen fish planks.

Allison R.

Yelp
Got chicken nachos with black beans to go and the chicken was shockingly good (tastes like they use a very flavorful marinade) and I normally don't like when restaurants put queso on nachos instead of shredded-then-melted cheese, but good Lord are these nachos GOOD. Like really really good. The guacamole and salsa added on top of them were great too. We only had to take them a few blocks away but they traveled well too, which can be a coin toss with to-go nachos. Cannot wait to get them again. YUM. Was easy to order over phone and a friendly girl took payment right away when I arrived even though they were pretty busy -- all around good experience.

As a Charleston resident and historical Taco Boy fan this review is a bit painful to write. Both the downtown and Folly locations have had sliding performance with both food and service quality. How ever my last visit to the Folly location was terrible. The service was bad, the menu has been cut down, the kitchen was out of two items I ordered, and food they did have was sub par. I'm not sure who is making decisions for the restaurant now but I wish they were satisfied with serving great tacos and cold beer because the current status of business will prevent me from going back.
