Google
Great experience at Taco Cabo! The staff were all friendly and accommodating. I got the steak burrito and it was cooked perfectly. I sat outside next to the Yampa river while eating my food and it was such a serene setting. I would recommend this place to anyone!

The drinks are the.best! The food is great and the atmosphere is amazing. We are sure to visit every time we are in Steamboat. Go see them!

Google
Impeccable. Upscale. Amazing. This is hands down the most chic, vibrant, and charming taco restaurant you’ll ever step into. From the atmosphere to the food, everything is elevated to a whole new level. What truly sets this place apart is the owner, Ken. He’s one of those rare, genuine, and charismatic people you feel lucky to meet. Ken creates a completely personalized experience that makes you feel like the most important person in the room. He goes above and beyond, ensuring every single dish that comes out of his kitchen is nothing short of gourmet and absolutely exquisite. If you're looking for incredible food and unforgettable vibes, this is the place you want to be all year round.

Locals' favorite. Good menu. It can take a minute to get your food if it's busy - you order and pay at the counter, take your number, find a table, and wait. Lots of outdoor seating, right on the river, under the shade of a huge, old tree. A surprising amount of indoor seating, although the riverside tables fill first.

Google
We had a round of burritos today at Taco Cabo! I tried the Al Pastor, the kids had the carnitas, and my husband had the carne asada. Everything came out of the kitchen so hot and fresh. They make everything from scratch and it really shows. I love how they grilled the burritos after they were rolled—that’s how I make them at home and I loved that extra detail. So good! I also enjoyed watching one of the cooks make fresh corn tortillas. I was impressed. I would stop again and would recommend you give them a try!

Google
Cute little restaurant with excellent staff. Food was great and the owner was walking around checking on tables and chatting with people. We had asked for a hot sauce and he gave us a new one he was creating to try. We loved it so much he sent us home with some from his personal stash! That personal touch is a huge part of the local experience we loved about this place. This restaurant has definitely become a new favorite when we visit.

Google
Love it being by the river. A lot of tables were almost full, but I didn't have to wait. Food was very tasty. I had the fajita chicken tacos and a margarita. Both were delicious and the drink was excellent. We even stayed long and ordered their churros- SO GOOD

Krista H.

Yelp
Service was incredibly fast. Food hit the spot. But the real winner were the skinny margaritas. If you didn't get one you didn't really go. This is a fun spot to chill right by the Yampa River too!

Jason T.

Yelp
Absolutely fantastic. From now on, no trip to Steamboat still be complete without a stop at Taco Cabo. Kent, the owner, is friendly and was very helpful with all of the questions we had. We had all of these tacos: birria, carne asada, pork belly, and chile colorado. The carne was arguably the best tasting carne asada I've ever had (and I've had a ton living in Los Angeles). Pork belly was very tasty with a ton of flavors with the other ingredients in the taco (slaw and more). I would recommend the chile colorado in a burrito. It has alot of sauce which made the taco a little bit as sturdy and I'd like. I think I'm a burrito would be a great choice. Dirty Queso was so tasty. I would get it again, but I also need to try the homemade salsa next time. Great homemade chips. Great job Kent and everyone.

Yelp
Was craving some Mexican food and found this place near steamboat. Small local business so decided to give it a try. Good service here. Ordered at the counter and had our food brought out to us. The horchata was creamy and has a good cinnamon flavor. The crispy barbacoa taco and chorizo breakfast burrito were delicious. It has great flavors and be sure to grab some salsa. Small cozy restaurant with a good amount of seating. Looking to come back for another burrito!

Kate M.

Yelp
We visited Taco Cabo for breakfast while in Steamboat and it didn't disappoint! There was no one else dining in, so we got primo seats on the patio right along the river. We ordered inside at the counter and the staff brought our orders out to us. We both went with the breakfast burrito. Mine came with chorizo, egg, cheese, shredded hash brown, and fresh pico. It was tasty and really filling! The pretty views were worth sitting outside on this chilly morning. Would love to come back and give the dinner menu a try!

Yelp
Food was solid, pork was a little fatty, the enchiladas were the best - for 3 people, no drinks and some tacos, $70 seemed a bit high....

Leanne A.

Yelp
I had to update my review especially after they moved to the current location. Seating out back by the river is so beautiful and the willow tree gives the perfect amount of shade. The bar outside is great, they make amazing top shelf margaritas! What I really come for is their tacos al pastor, omg these are delicious. Everytime we visit I have to make at least two trips here to enjoy them. They have great chips and queso as well. The tortillas are freshly made in house and are just perfect. Can't wait to visit again in a few weeks and enjoy!

Mel K.

Yelp
In my husbands words- I'm either too hungry to know better or this really is one of the best tacos I've had in a long time. This place was great and a much needed rest stop after a family mountain biking morning. The line was long but moved rather quickly. We easily found a place to sit outside by the patio where we could watch the river run by. The food was great and I don't often say that about Mexican food in Colorado Drinks were a bit pricey but the margs were great too. Over all would recommend and will come back next time we are in Steamboat!

Denneane C.

Yelp
Order at the counter and sit inside or enjoy the day outside near the beautiful and tranquil Yampa River. Traditional Mexican fare at great prices. Food was delivered quickly, even on a swamped 4th of July. The place was packed but our order arrived quickly and were served hot. For an on the go eating experience you won't be disappointed.

Kelsey L.

Yelp
Pretty good. Super cool location right on the river and the margaritas are good. I probably wouldn't go here for tacos over other places in town but if I'm going for a neat spot I'd for sure go here.

Brianna J.

Yelp
Stopped by for a quick bite and was not disappointed! Not too much seating inside but people are in and out pretty quickly. We got Al pastor tacos, carne asada burrito and birria tacos and everything was delicious. Would recommend if you are in steamboat!

Amanda S.

Yelp
Do yourself a favor and go if you want a great taco or burrito! We came here and sat by the river outback. You order food inside and thru bring it to your table and boost drinks out back. We met the owner who was super friendly and jumped in to help his staff as needed. The ambiance is relaxed and peaceful. The drinks are good. The chips and salsa hit the spot! We will totally be back

Benedict A.

Yelp
We came here for our last dinner in Steamboat Springs. It's right along the Yampa River. And the seating outdoors is first come, first serve. So it was nice that we scored a large table for 8 people right in the middle, with no waiting time, on a Saturday evening. They have a large bar outside where you can order beer or their signature cocktails. I went with a blackberry mojito. It was really pretty with all the different colors. It was cold and refreshing. A great way to enjoy the tacos I ordered. I ordered 3 of their tacos, including lengua, al pastor, and carne asada. These aren't the regular street tacos, but rather they are quite large. They are also loaded with a lot of topping. Each one is loaded with different sauces and toppings. Carne asada was a little on the tough side. Lengua, as always, was nice and soft. Our group also ordered chip and dip. Comes with either salsa or guacamole. Guacamole was a little sour.... but the salsa was pretty good. Chips were nice and crunchy, not oily at all. I also got a strawberry empanada. It was ok. Not the greatest. Wouldn't order it again. Be careful of the steps leading out. They are steep and slippery when wet. But they do have signs saying to be careful. The next day, I was feeling the heat from all that spice, though. As my heartburn was acting up.... But in general this is a nice restaurant for some good Mexican food. The location itself is amazing. Right on the river. You can sit on the chairs facing the river or be one of the lucky few to grab the table next to the river. Premium prices for premium location as well as good drinks and food!

Jennifer J.

Yelp
Fantastic tacos and friendly service at Taco Cabo! We tried a variety of tacos, and everything was great - carne asada, carnitas, pastor and pollo. The salsa (& chips) is excellent. I'm hoping we can make a second stop to try more during our trip in Steamboat.

Jeff K.

Yelp
Wanted something different than American in Steamboat and narrowed it to this spot. I personally got Pollo Tinga tacos and nachos for table. Would come back. Very tasty.

Janet W.

Yelp
We enjoyed a Great lunch on a Monday around 1:45 pm with my husband and son. This has become a tradition for us to come here for lunch anytime we visit Steamboat Springs. I got he crispy barbaco taco special which came with charros beans on the side. My husband picked three tacos-shrimp, chicken, and brisket which he enjoyed. My son got two tacos-lengua and carnitas. We also ordered the churros for dessert. Everything was delicious! Food came out quickly. We also got photos on the back outdoor patio which is right on the river. There is a front patio as well where we saw a dog and a table on the back patio had their cat in a kitty carrier. So bring your favorite pet here for an enjoyable meal with the whole family!

Jose R.

Yelp
Oh Steam Boat how you keep this place a hidden gem I have no idea. Taco Cabo is a staple place that must be visited anytime when in town. If you're in search of an authentic Mexican cuisine spot where the food is flavorful and the margaritas will have you not only forget your name, you'll lose it, and will have to return for it the next day; but fret not - They'll hold onto it for you in their Lost and Found; It's a daily occurrence I'm sure. Weather permitting their outdoor seating area is just simply gorgeous; with a casual vibe and an outdoor bar (that's where the margarita magic happens) the space overlooks the river. Just a great spot to enjoy a breakfast burrito or for lunch/dinner a Colorado burrito, perhaps with a side of elote, some chips and queso, and accompany each with a margarita, or three..why not??!! Perhaps you've noticed a theme here - don't judge me... Kent the owner is super chill. He makes sure to greet everyone and directs traffic to ensure optimal seating. Your trip to this magical town won't be complete if you don't pay a visit to Taco Cabo to enjoy a great meal and indulge in an amazing mar...well you know.. Taco Cabo I'll see you again soon...

Jason H.

Yelp
Delicious! Great authentic food, spicy salsa, fresh guacamole, and awesome drinks! Wanted to keep going back during our stay.

Lucas F.

Yelp
Taco Cabo is a great spot for tasty Mexican food with generous portion sizes. I ordered a burrito, and while the $15 price tag is a bit on the higher side, it was filling and full of flavor. The ambience really stands out, especially with the restaurant's location next to the river--it makes for a relaxing dining experience. The hanging lights add a nice touch to the atmosphere. Service was friendly and quick, which made the experience even better. Definitely worth checking out for a casual night out!

Keith C.

Yelp
Taco Cabo is yet another super cool eatery in Steamboat. Yelp led us here on a Tuesday evening. It's not a full service restaurant, but the cashiers and food runners are friendly. There is also an owner or manager gladhanding guests. The patio dining is right on the Yampa River. It was packed when we got there but a spot opened up quickly. We chose two bowls. I got carnitas and the wife got a chicken fajita bowl. Both meats were flavorful and moist. The greens were fresh and we were surprised to find some cabbage too.

Chris H.

Yelp
I came out for some downhill MTB at Steamboat Ski resort and my buddy recommended this spot to me. It was absolutely legendary, one of the best burritos I've ever had. Great margaritas too. Don't skip it. It's perfect for a date too, or a little weed and chilling out to the sounds of the stream out back. Get your workout in first friends!

Project Pat H.

Yelp
Folks got about anything you might want in a fine establishment in Steamboat yall. I'd highly recommend Taco Cabo if you're out here. 5 stars.

Dawn D.

Yelp
Excelente y autentico! Best shrimp quesadilla ever. Daily special green enchiladas were wonderful. Will go back.

D D.

Yelp
Great food. We had burritos, bowls and nachos. Service was quick. Nice location for views.

Mike M.

Yelp
The food is amazing, not frilly and bougie but down home and super tasty. Kent and his crew pay attention to details about how good the food is. From the tacos to the bison chili/stew with his handmade artisan bread. Thanks Kent you made my day with lunch.

Kieu L.

Yelp
Excellent Mexican food! The service was fast. You order your food, and get a number. They'll bring the food to you. You can opted to sit in the back area by the river; plenty of tables there. With the river running, the music, and the people talking, the noise can be a little overwhelming. But, I ate every bites of my beef brisket bowl, so I will definitely come back for more!

James A.

Yelp
Extremely expensive for a taco joint... $93 check for chips and salsa, a burrito, one taco, two taco bowls, and 3 Sprites! One of the reasons we picked this place was the low price advertised on Yelp... that needs to be edited ASAP! We had to take the taco bowls back due to missing condiments (pico, sour cream, lettuce). They were apologetic about the missing condiments... but still... $93 for Mexican street food????

Jeff S.

Yelp
Great food and service. Didn't hurt that a huge black bear popped his head across the river to say hello. Our large group loved the outdoor seating and ambiance as well!

Joey W.

Yelp
Wanted a quick bite to eat and decided to stop by. The tacos are pretty pricey $5 - 6 each. Al Pastor taco - lots of flavor and the pineapple balances the spices. Not the best Al Pastor I've had but not bad for Colorado. The tortilla was very soft and thin so it did break. I wish it had a second tortilla. Chile Colorado taco & burrito - the pork shoulder was tender and flavorful. The pico de gallo added a nice crunch and refreshing element to the pork shoulder and refried beans. Pollo Asada burrito - the grilled flavor came through. The pollo asada was tender.

Alex L.

Yelp
Taco Cabo gets packed really fast especially for patio dining. They have a bar outside to accommodate all the patrons and move quickly with purpose! You go inside to order and they give you a number to bring your food out to your table. One of the owners assisted me when we went. She was courteous, friendly, and funny. The line started building so I couldn't chat with her much but from our brief conversation the entire staff is super passionate about their food. I ordered a chili Colorado taco, carne asada taco and carne molida (aka ground beef) taco. If you think you can eat 3 tacos in one sitting I'd challenge you on it. Between the chips and salsa, michelada and 3 tacos I was STUFFED! I would recommend walking around afterwards. It was borderline too much on the third taco. I would also recommend the shredded chicken taco and pescado (fish) taco! You really can't go wrong with any of them! Remember, everyday can be taco Tuesday! We will keep this place on our radar for many reasons. The patio sits next to the Yampa River and when the crowd gets to rowdy, the river will calm your nerves. haha!

Liz M.

Yelp
Wanted a taco lunch, found it by the river, with a great view. Food was excellent, being greeted by the boss a treat. Ended up having a great convo w him after I was done. This is a nice spot for wine really good tacos!

Richard R.

Yelp
The best carne asada quesadilla i have ever had. It is rare for me to give 5 stars but this place deserves it. There is a back patio with a bar that boarders the yampa river. Awesome spot to eat, drink and chill!

Phyllis M.

Yelp
Restaurant for Spanish speaking people only. All self service restaurant. Received wrong order due to misunderstanding of english language. When we tried to explain to our server we ordered enchiladas not quesadillas we were told (in broken English) the quesadillas was on the receipt. So if we wanted enchiladas we had to pay extra. My kind friend said she would just eat the quesadillas but that's not what she ordered. Our male friend did not like that and went to speak to a manager and was told the mgr was not in. Even though we saw the owner just a few minutes earlier. We were again told "the receipt shows quesadillas" and we again told them we did not order quesadillas. At one point bartender Nick told our male friend he "came in too hot" and he needed to return to his seat or he would call the cops. Nick then proceeded to take away the 1 and only beer our friend had all day, which we paid for. We never received the enchiladas. Our friends are locals who suggested this restaurant as a fun experience for our final day in Steamboat Springs. I can guarantee you none of us will return to this restaurant. Possibly, not to Steamboat Springs either.

Monty S.

Yelp
Great food and view of the Yampa river. Will definitely be a regular. Great for a family lunch.

Amanda M.

Yelp
Beautiful setting on the river! Our food and service was great as well. We ordered the guacamole and tacos and loved it all. Definitely coming back when we get up to Colorado again!

Ford N.

Yelp
nice location and ambiance, but definitely would not return. Staff was extremely rude and dismissive while my family was ordering and made rude comments to my mother. on top of this, the food was not super great for the extremely high prices. I understand that it's a tourist destination, but 70 dollars for just 3 people seems pretty steep when that didn't even include sides or drinks. Our food also took about 40 minutes to come out, and it didn't seem that busy.

Nikki S.

Yelp
We loved everything about Taco Cabo. It's situated right on the river and the back patio is super picturesque. At 7pm on a Wednesday it was packed, but we were patient and got a great seat right by the water after only about a 5-10 minute wait. You order inside at the counter and get a number for them to bring you food. Any water you want is self-service and you walk up to the bar to get drinks. I appreciated that they let us know ahead of time that they were running a 40 minute wait on food to come out, but it ended up coming out in half that time. We got the pork belly tacos, chicken asada bowl, and cheesesteak torta. Everything was delicious, authentic Mexican with lots of flavor. Be prepared to wait when you come here, but you'll be rewarded.

Stephanie W.

Yelp
The food was good. The friendliness was meh. No one offered a smile or a thank you. I was a little confused about the menu and wanted to ask a question. When I approached the cashier, I started to ask my question and she walked away mid-sentence. I left the register and came back when I saw she was ready, which was several minutes later. No big deal, but I feel like they could've been more attentive to their customers' needs this particular visit. It just rubbed me wrong, but this was my one and only visit.

Joe Y.

Yelp
Location 5 stars. Yampa River view. Service: 4 stars fast and efficient. Food: 3 stars I rarely have disliked every item I ordered. Chips taste like store bought guacamole did not taste like fresh made. $6 you get two pork Tamales good portion but lacked flavor. Pescado cod fish pieces looked old flavorless. The pastor taco was ok but it came with flour tortilla instead of corn tortilla. This is not a authentic taqueria but that's ok considering we are in the Rocky Mountains nowhere near Pico de Orizaba. I just wished the food would have a bit more flavor.

Camryn A.

Yelp
This place is so great! The ambiance outside was amazing even on an overcast day. We only stopped by for a quick appetizer and drink but the service was incredible. The owner of the restaurant was walking around and was very kind.

Sam X.

Yelp
Stopped in based on the ratings after a nice day enjoying the hot springs, wanted something authentic and quick. Too bad it was too cold to enjoy the meal on the patio by the river. The location is perfect by the River. It's a cute little eatery in the heart of town. You order at cashier and they'll bring your food. The two ladies at the cashier were helpful and answered questions we had. I ordered all of their taco meats because I wanted to taste them all. Al pastor was by far the best, the pineapples really make a difference! The rest are basic. The downside is the price for each taco ($6) which is expensive for the same size and quality as other eateries/ restaurants. If you're up for trying something different, their Cabo cheesesteak is really flavorful. The sauce in the sandwich is good, just the right amount of kick. Bread is soft.

Charissa M.

Yelp
Food great owner is wonderful atmosphere is fabulous great location everything was awesome I would recommend this to all who visit steamboat springs

Steve K.

Yelp
Lunch with a breathtaking view of the Yampa River. The rustic atmosphere of dining outside with a table overlooking the water was so nice. The food, including al pastor, and shrimp burritos, loaded tacos, and cheese quesadillas, were all tasty. The margaritas were really good and the horchata that I had was really good. The chef/owner? stopped at each table to see how everyone was enjoying the food, or if there was anything that could be done to make your dining experience better, a very nice touch...

Heather D.

Yelp
Great spot with a nice view. Best hot chocolate ever! And the Chile Colorado Torta...mmmmm thanks for the awesome and super fast service!

Kaitlyn S.

Yelp
Decent price considering the area, but was disappointed by the price of chips and salsa ($7!) The food was amazing and their hot sauce is very spice! I would also be aware of avocado & jalapeño upcharge

Brian R.

Yelp
We eat here every time we're in Steamboat! Do yourself a favor and order a torta, the bread is terrific. We get baguettes or bolillos to go as well. And it's right by the river.... And the margs and mojitos are great... And it's not a million dollars like a lot of the places here.... Enjoy!

Jessica ..

Yelp
Loved the tacos but the ambiance of the outdoor seating area is what sold me. Getting served your taco next to a creek where you can watch fly fisherman is probably the most serene thing! Can't wait to come back!!!

Alexis R.

Yelp
The food was fresh and quick- great for a dinner following a busy day! Their back patio also sits over the Yampa River making the view really pretty as well as giving a nice breeze. We got queso and house made chips for the table which were fantastic and a variety of menu items (shrimp torta, steak bowl, steak tacos, chicken tacos) and horchata.

Andrea S.

Yelp
Taco Cabo really hit the spot for a late afternoon snack! My husband and I shared the carnitas quesadilla and it was quite basic, cheese and carnitas, with a side of pico and sour cream. It really just needed a little heat and maybe a few other items in the quesadilla to make it a standout quesadilla. My husband also had a happy hour marg. He said it definitely wasn't worth the price and you could tell it was just a mix!

Cee B.

Yelp
Average Mexican food at best. I really don't get it, Also no hot sauces anywhere to be found and poor drinks selection
