In a word, fine.
We were heartbroken when El Habanero closed and surprised to see something new was coming in so quickly.
Husband tried Taco City first. He got some tacos and said it was ok, but no El Habanero. I was in need of some dinner and popped in for carry out. I ordered the nachos without meat or sour cream. The cashier was clearly new, but staff was friendly. When I asked about salsas, they said they had three kinds - red, green and house. The red wasn't very red (I'm assuming it's the red) and the house was very orange like it had a lot of habanero in it, but it wasn't that hot.
The nachos were kind of a hot mess. There was tons of melted cheese and beans on them. Too much and this is someone who loves both. It felt like the cheese formed a protective helmet over the rest of the nachos. The beans on the bottom made most of the chips soggy. The guac on top was fine, I couldn't tell if it had spinach in it or a lot of cilantro (cilantro haters, you've been warned).
I'll go back and give it another shot, but it doesn't hold a candle to El Habanero or Taconazo.
