Taco City Taqueria

Honestly hands down best burrito I've had. Rice, beans, guac all included with the meat. Carnitas was perfect. I liked the rice which is rare but they use chicken broth or something so it's tasty. I got it smothered with rojo sauce so it was spicy with every bite. Highly recommend.

Lets start with the Guacamole. A little salt goes a long way, definitely needs some fresh cilantro, some salt and pepper, and fresh squeezed lime juice. Bland guacamole is never good! Birria tacos, the sauce was thick, not too much flavor and way too much oil. Tacos were double wrapped and nice and crispy on the outside, cheese was melted on the inside nicely. Nice heat to the birria broth. The meat was dry and did not seem pulled straight from the broth as it should be. Carne asada tacos, steak was burnt and cold, again no seasoning! Salt and pepper!!! Verde sauce gave it a little something but not much. Taco city, this is not the same product you had when you first opened.

I’m not a big spice eater, but everything was on the side. A little spice didn’t hurt me and I’m sure it won’t hurt anybody else either. It was absolutely delicious and I will be back again. I just moved to the area a few months ago and I’m trying different little Restaurants and takeout because I do live alone, but this was enough for two and I say that because I’m a small eater if you really enjoy this food, you’re not gonna leave any for the next day. It was absolutely delicious and the price was right.

We were a group of seven who went there on a Saturday night. We wanted a casual place where we could BYOB. You don’t go to Taco City for the atmosphere as it’s mostly a take out restaurant. They had a few tables and one other group was eating while we were there but it was mostly people picking up take out orders. Our server was friendly and helpful. He brought us glasses, ice and limes so we could make Ranch Waters (One With Life Tequila, muddled lime and Topo Chico mineral water). We ordered guacamole, chips, salsa, loaded nachos (vegetarian) while we looked at the menu and made our Ranch Waters. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the price was inexpensive. If I lived in this area I would have takeout from here.

Oh, man. So frigging good. Al Pastor, Birria, Carne asada. You can't go wrong with your choice here. Great family-run restaurant. Authentic in every way. Give them your business.

Taco City Taqueria is great! So far we have been twice. The last time I got the shrimp tacos and they were fantastic, the shrimp was cooked perfectly. The sauce used on the tacos was quite spicy so if you don't like or can't tolerate spicy foods that is something to be aware of. The side of rice and side of beans were good as well. My son got the kids meal which was perfect for him. His chicken was very tasty, and cooked well. He enjoyed it. My husband and father-in-law both got burritos (I don't remember which one my husband got, but my father-in-law got the chicken burrito). They loved both of their burritos. Oh and they had a delicious tea made from hibiscus I believe? It was so good!! We will be back. Thank you Taco City! :)

This place is awesome. Food is amazing, staff is friendly; the woman making the fresh corn tortillas is like the Mexican grandmother we all wish we had. Everything we’ve had there has been stellar and great kids meal options too. We will certainly be back, often!

Fantastic!!! Tacos were overflowing with meat in their carne asada tacos,xand flavorful. Lady at counter was sweet , service prompt, and clean establishment. If I could give 10 stars I would!

I tried this place while working in the area. I had the 3 tacos and side of rice , with chips and salsa. The carnitas tacos were good. Everything else was not. I had 2 carnitas and 1 Al Pastor. The Al pastors was dry and hard. Didn't bother trying to eat it. And the carnitas needed salt. It was really lacking in seasoning but still good. THAT RICE was crazy. Straight in the trash it went ! It was like eating pudding it was super mushy , I never had rice that mushy in my life.

Went for the first time with my roommates and the food was fantastic. The service was also good, didn't have to wait too long for the food. I got the chicken tinga tacos and nachos. The portions were generous, definitely feel like I got my moneys worth.

A new favorite restaurant in the area. Food was delicious. We ordered a few different things. (There was 6 of us). Mostly different tacos. Very large portions. Everything tasted fresh. The flan was awesome.

doesn't seem like a place for dining in ,but let me say the takeout is pretty great. pleasantly surprised with the quality and taste of our food and will definitely get takeout again. staff was friendly and establishment seems to be busy most days. recommend giving it a try .

Food was okay not bad at all just not o er the top good? found the yellow rice a bit greasy black beans were dry -not a ton of shrimp in shrimp tacos fajitas with shrimp steak and chicken were tasty but not over the top the chipotle sauce was very good but spending over $45 for fajitas and three tacos was ok? no chips or extras no pico nothing that was really over the top amazing -not sure if i would go back when there are so many other choices in the area - one pet peeve -we were told to come back To pick up our order in 30minutes went back in 20 and order was ready but cold maybe if we ate in it might have been better ?

Tacos here are incredible. Prices are extremely fair as well. They have many sauces to choose from, and they're all made in-house. Try their Al Pastore tacos and I highly recommend the spicy pineapple sauce. I drive out of my way 30 minutes to just eat here sometimes.

I got the Al Pastor Bowl and it was delicious and authentic. Ordered from grub hub for takeout. I enjoyed it very much. Great meal.

Surprise find when driving through area. We are total authentic taco snobs and were thrilled by the food. Birria tacos a total hit, handmade chili relleno was yummy and the carnitas bowl was awesome. Handmade tortillas, salsas, sauces. We ordered at counter and they brought us food on nice plates. Awesome spot!

I'm from Colorado, and we have great tacos, so I wasn't expecting much... boy was I surprised! The tacos were amazing! The salsa was okay, but besides that everything was great! This will definitely be a new stop when we're visiting the in-laws

First timer and my family said it was great. They did not lie! I had the pollo asada in a bowl. It was made fresh and delivered quickly. Staff was very friendly. Will definitely go back!

Spotted this place on google maps when we rented a place in Tuckerton. Good sign that they had Birria Tacos on the menu and a decent variety beyond the gringo standard beef, chicken and shrimp. Walked in, ordered and then noticed, to my delight, a big pile of masa. I was about to regret not having ordered tamales when the woman behind the counter started making tortillas. this place makes its own tortillas!! Estupendo! Birria and carnitas tacos were solid (the consommé was a tad mild for my iron palate but A for effort). The shrimp in the tacos was tasty but points off for iceberg lettuce and flour tortillas. Would have preferred no lettuce and those great masa tortillas instead of flour. Another odd thing: they sell tacos in threes but it's not clear that you can mix and match. They should offer a single taco price or a mixed taco option. I would have tried almost every one on the menu but didn't want three of each. That said, portions are generous, tacos are well constructed and everything was fresh. Personally I like the flavors and heat amped up a bit, but this is Central NJ, not Mexico City, so it's understandable that they back off. Bottom line: if this place was near my home I'd likely eat there at least weekly.

Great authentic Mexican cuisine . The el pastor tacos are so good and the steak burrito was amazing .they don't skimp on the fillings . The sauces are very good they give you on the side along with radishes and a large grilled scallion I recommend trying there cuisine very authentic and they are so accommodating !

Good food if they would get the order right and stand by their service. They screwed up my order which I didn't find out until I got home. I didn't eat and called the next day because I was 1/2 an hour away and wasn't going back out that night. The manager refused to replace my meal which was uneaten. He said he would fix the screw up, but would not refund or replace the food WHICH i DIDN'T EAT. I paid for a fresh meal, not a day old meal. I even offered to bring it back to prove I hadn't eaten it. He still refused. They lost a good customer for life. They suck!

Lit tacos. Only a soft opening and they are already super busy. We got the al pastor and campesinos tacos and they were so good.

LOVE this place!!! This place is my saving grace for when I am in the area. They are super reliable, friendly, and consistent. I love the veggie burrito, cheese quesadilla, black beans, guacamole, and chorizo tacos. Truly so grateful for this place and how delicious the food is. Definitely a must try!

Who ever says they love a big pile of cilantro and nothing else next to your meal and ask for something specific 3 times and still not get is great.

I got the birria Tacos to go and they were amazing. I use to live in San Diego and since moving back to New Jersey it is hard to find a good taco spot/Mexican food. So if you are looking for some good authentic food this is the place! The staff were also Super friendly which is always a bonus!

Taco city is consistently AWESOME. Portions are good for their tacos and it really is a bang for your buck. My favorites are the campesinos tacos and the birria quesadilla. I recommend everyone this spot, and order from their regularly.

I had the Birria Tacos and Pollo Asada Quesadillas and they both were amazing. I was blown away by the food and customer service experience. Give this place a try you won't be disappointed. Exactly what Mystic Islands needed.

Highly recommend! A traditional menu well worth the time to experience. Don't forget to try the Horchata as well!!!

Ordered takeout tacos and three burrito bowls. Besides the tacos the bowls were bland, no taste to the meat at all. Overall really disappointed. Tacos were ok which is why the two stars.

Definitely recommend this place ! Best burrito I've had in a long time. Beats chipotle hands down. There's another Mexican restaurant very close to them (that I've been to) so they must be doing something right to be open threw Covid Take out and dine in service is 5 stars. Will probably eat there next time I'm in the area. Definitely not toco bell quality it's good homemade Mexican.

Exceptional! Although it's very new... I heard so many great reviews, I had to try it! The food is so fresh! Obviously all made in house. Everything was delicious! So excited to have this New Mexican restaurant in the area! You HAVE to try it.... you won't be disappointed!! Great job!!

This place is amazing. Definitely try the Birria Taco. We also had Mexican corn which was a special. Really good. Don't hesitate to come here. You will be happy you did.

Restaurant is new to the area and I had to give it a try. Hands down some of the best Mexican food I've had. The restaurant itself is very clean and the staff were very pleasant. Everything about the experience was an absolute delight. The food like everything is made fresh daily, and every bite was better than the last. If you're in the area I consider this a MUST have restaurant to try out, you will not be disappointed. Cannot wait to try other things of this menu as I plan to be a repeat customer.

Great little spot. I got a Al Pastor burrito and a pollo burrito. The al pastor was great but the pollo burrito was just ok. The salsa verde is really good. I will be back to try out the tacos and heard they do carne asada fries upon request.

3rd time getting take out in about a month or so, and every time has been awsome. Nice to have really good mexican food in tuckerton finally. Just had nachos mixtos which is a special they have right now, and they were fantastic. Good job guys and thank you for being here
