New Taco Restaurant Taco Flats Opens in Clarksville in October | Eater Austin

"Opening today (Saturday, October 5) at 1110 West Lynn Street, this Clarksville taco restaurant and bar is Taco Flats' second Austin location, taking over the former Zocalo Cafe space. The menu leans on Mexico and Rio Grande Valley influences, with handmade tortillas and al pastor from the trompo highlighted among the tacos, and a drinks program focused on agave spirits alongside beer and tapped wine. The renovated space—designed by Kelly Rath, McCray & Co., and Word + Carr Design Group—features new Mexican tiles, terracotta, and a patio filled with greenery. Taco Flats took its name from a legendary dive bar (with permission) and was originally opened in North Lamar by owner Simon Madera in 2014; the Clarksville spot’s hours are 10 a.m.–10 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday and until midnight Thursday through Saturday." - Nadia Chaudhury

12-Year-Old Clarksville Restaurant Zocalo Cafe Is Closing | Eater Austin

"I note that Simon Madera reopened the returning Taco Flats on North Lamar in October 2014, where the menu emphasized tacos and tequila cocktails, and that he used the name of the legendary dive bar with the blessing of the former co-owner." - Nadia Chaudhury

Needed some food and beer after a flight from Atlanta. And within walking distance. Taco Flats was recommended so we gave it a try. 7 minute walk in a nice neighborhood and we were there. Immediately got a good vibe. Great menu and beer choices. Guacamole was really good and fresh. Chips and tortillas made fresh there. Breakfast tacos are served all day. Server was super nice and helpful. Food was great. Beer great too. They say, come for the food, stay for the beer. I agree. I highly recommend.

Google
Great taco spot that opens after 3 p.m. Prices are decent and the food is delicious. Must try: the migas. Food: We ordered the migas, carne asada, and a salad bowl. The migas is my favorite. It is from the breakfast menu, but serves all day. Parking: convenient free parking is available on the side. Advantage: perfect for a late-afternoon bite since they open after 3 p.m. Distange: the table is a little sticky, not major.

I write this review with a heavy heart and nostalgic remembrance of what used to be a consistent keystone in Austin’s Mexican dining. I’ve been to Austin a dozen times in the last biennium to escape the swamp that is DC, and frequent Taco Flats as an escape from reality. Tonight my group ordered four items: the quesadilla, pirata, queso & chips, and shrimp taco (it has a different name which fleets my mind but was a forgetful experience). The latter was unfortunately a bite full of cabbage. Some items like the Quesadilla and Margs are among the best in the contiguous United States and are frequently enjoyed by my constituents and I, but hope these other areas can soon return to greatness as well.

Google
This place was freaking awesome! We saw the review of 4.2 and it definitely deserves five stars. The food was phenomenal, so was the atmosphere in service. Thank you!

Google
a decent taco spot with a ton of options. i tried the shrimp and gringa, which were both delicious. it's a bit on the pricier side without a matching portion size or quality. i think two tacos easily fills you up! the quesadilla is definitely a must try. wouldn't be the first place i come to when i want tacos but they do have yummy food. i came here for a birthday party and they were very friendly and accommodating. they even kept our cake in their fridge so that it wouldn't melt! they made the birthday special by being super friendly.

Google
🌮 Taco Flats 🌮 These tacos were insanely good! I wasn’t expecting too much from more expensive tacos but I was floored. They’re loaded tacos so I would recommend 2 for a singular person. Even then, it’s a lot. We had a popular beef taco with cheddar cheese on it which scared me but boy was I wrong. This taco was insanely good. We also had the grilled shrimp taco which was also good but didn’t pair the best with the salsas. This isn’t the tacos fault but could be a negative connotation. I will be back and especially on a Thursday FR the surge. u

Google
I wish I would have taken a picture of the tacos. These were the worse tacos I have ever had and over priced as well. Queso came out with a lot of grease from the chorizo. The chips looked like they were going to be flavorful since it was powered with some sort of seasoning, but it had no flavor. I ordered the pollo asada which looked and tasted like deli chicken. I was told that the tacos were going to be big and can get filled up with 2. I don’t eat big meals so I opted for just one. It was not big at all. But I’m glad I didn’t waste my money on another one. My boyfriend had the pastor and it was also flavorless. If you want tasty tacos go to the food truck Juan More Taco instead!! It took the staff forever to fill up the tiny glass of water they give you. The bathrooms were also filthy. What a disappointment!!

Google
Delicious tacos and drinks! We got their classic margaritas on the rocks with salted rim, it was tasty! We also got the nachos with cheese and those are great home made chips! We tried 4 different tacos, I think the brisket was my favorite! Beautiful seating areas both indoors and outdoors! Perfect for date night or a group party.

Yelp
Get ready for some massive tacos! My friend and I each ordered two and could barely finish them. The tacos are delicious and I really like their salsas here. The service is mediocre. It's good enough for what this place is but nothing exceptional. The ambience of the restaurant is casual but trendy so it is a great spot to meet up for lunch or a casual happy hour margarita. There is some parking in the front and more in the back however, parking is tight and that is probably the only one issue we had when coming here . If the parking was not an issue, I definitely would stop by more often. Overall cool spot really like the food. It's a great casual hang out!

Yelp
A casual, but pleasant taco spot with tasty tacos, chips, and salsas and a good drink menu is something that there can never be enough of. Taco Flats fits the bill. While I have heard this is their nicest location - it certainly is pleasant for a lunch/dinner with friends (smaller group or larger). We ordered a variety of tacos, and everyone seemed pleased with their order. Salsa was also perfectly spicy. If you're going to skip anything the watermelon fresa was quite bland.
google avatar

Haley M.

Yelp
This was a great place for a casual meal. Great to meet up with friends or grab a quick bite! The food was delicious and the waiter provided excellent recommendations to queso was a standout. I will definitely be back the next time I am in town!

Yelp
Was on a walk over in the neighborhood and figured I would grab some tacos and keep going. The breakfast tacos are massive. I'm talking huge. I'm very much an eater and I could barely finish two. And certainly not comfortably! I about called an Uber home I was so full. One is the perfect amount since they stuff them full. Very good, but pick your favorite one to order.

Yelp
The food is pretty bad. I ordered barbacoa and carne asada tacos. The beef was so dry and chewy. The tacos had no flavor. The tortilla was tough. So I ended up eating both tacos with a fork. I will not be going back again.

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised, given the reviews. Came on a Sunday for breakfast. They had a brunch menu with breakfast tacos that weren't in their main menu, so not sure they are available every day. They are pricy ($6 or $6.50),but they are big. You might do one as a meal perhaps. I'd actually prefer less filling and a lower cost, so that two made sense. San Chorizo was good. The grilled jalapeño in it wasn't necessary. Really bad texture for the rest of the taco, so I took it out. Good otherwise though. The Dirty South was better. Pretty huge taco, if anything too much black bean. Could taste some bacon though. I could see doing this is as a meal and being OK with it. Flour tortillas were good. Not too thick. Cooked properly. The place seems more a bar than anything, but it's not bad. Expensive because where it is. Not on my best list, but would come back.

Yelp
Was in the mood for a margarita but wanted something a bit more casual. Since I was set to go on a walk around the trails rightafter, my friend suggested we come to Taco Flats and I was on-board for the chance. I hadn't been to Taco Flats before this excursion, so I wasn't sure what to expect. With the pretty weather we had that day, we decided to sit outside (well tbh that was the only option because we had her dog, but I digress lol). The server was super friendly and they even have dog bowls for the pups which I always find so cute. I love a choose-your-own-adventure and their Pick 3 appetizer for chips and dips is GENIUS. I'm sold. Take my money. I'm already in love. Next time I'm around I want to try their black bean dip. When it was time to head out, they were super generous with extra chips which is the most important food group in my opinion. The decor was super cute inside so sneak a peek if you're enjoying yourself outside.

Yelp
Was craving a pastor quesadilla because I had a good one elsewhere a few days ago. Stopped at this place because it was nearby. Spent 66 bucks and left thinking "I would've been better off at McDonald's." I ordered chips and queso, the queso was supposed to have meat but it was barely any. Even the chips weren't that Great. (Didn't eat it all - waste of money). I also asked for a pastor quesadilla, which came out with pico covering 1 entire piece, guac (I forgot to say no guac that's on me), and this ugly crusted edge that I didn't understand. This place only gets two stars because I'm being nice. The food was terrible and I'll never go there again. I think Taco Bell would've been better than this!
google avatar

Christopher T.

Yelp
Their ranking increased by a whopping fifty-one positions on my taco list after discovering their Breakfast Tacos menu (available until 3pm). The tortillas on the Migas Taco are toasty and exceptionally sturdy, the pico is fresh, the jack cheese is brilliantly blended with the scrambled eggs resulting in some pretty impressive alchemy. I support their innovative flair. They even have a fantastic Chilaquiles Taco. Their Quesadilla is quite unique -- give it a try! [Ranked as #39 on my taco list of 150 locations: AustinTacoMojo.com]

Yelp
Didn't put some food in order. Then charged us for it. Then wouldn't fix it. No effort to fix the problem. Just had a manager email and no one to fix it. Taco Al pastor overcooked, crusty, under seasoned.

Yelp
Visiting from SoCal this past weekend. My friend and I were drawn in by the Yelp photos of the banana walnut pancakes-- which turned out to taste as amazing as they look in the photos! We absolutely loved this restaurant! The staff were all very friendly and hospitable. Such kind people working here! The trio of dip & chips was such a treat! I'm glad our server convinced us to try all three dips. Awesome guac, salsa, and queso! We couldn't stop eating the chips! Our server was kind enough to give us a large bag of chips to go also. I would highly recommend the smoked brisket taco (I think that's what it was called), I ordered mine on a four tortilla and it was perfection! I appreciated that there were absolutely no fatty pieces of meat at all; just tender, well-seasoned beef. Everything we ordered kept getting better. All the food tasted fresh and like whoever was in the back cooking it up really knows what they are doing. We were very impressed! The restaurant itself was clean, comfortable, and inviting. I loved the chill vibe here and will definitely come back, as well as recommend to my friends! Thank you for the wonderful experience and delicious food!
google avatar

Kathy M.

Yelp
I find this place to be over priced. $18 for queso and guacamole and it isn't even served in a real bowl. Everything is served in plastic or paper. Seating is uncomfortable. I hope the servers get paid well because they are saving a ton being so cheap and charging so much. Our waitress was sweet. Also, there a million places to get excellent tacos. This place is not doing anything special at all.
google avatar

Katie B.

Yelp
One of my favorite places for so many reasons, but now especially because I can add pancakes to the list. One may not think of Taco Flats when they think of breakfast or that pancakes go with queso, and one would be wrong on both accounts. I'm not saying you should dip said stack into your queso, but you know when you just want that satisfying combo of salty and sweet but not necessarily combined, more like a progressive meal that hits both notes? That's what Taco Flats offers (on the weekends at least). They are currently rocking a "waffles" category on Yelp and while they do not have those, I think it's to lure in brunchers and hopefully brunchers will not be disappointed with the fake out, as their banana walnut pancakes are a beaut of a brunch item. Their chips still can't be beat (if you like seasoning) and I love their queso. I will echo a friend and hope they figure out a more sustainable way to serve up their menu when dining in without all the one-time use plastic in the near future!

Yelp
Came out for a bicycle ride. Ended finding a good chill spot for lunch. Good food awesome service. Will be back.

Yelp
Not a bad place to get a drink. I tried several ipa samples before getting a beer on tap! The waiter was friendly but this place isn't my vibe. I'm tagging along with my son and this is his selection. They brought out queso in a plastic container and I'm dining in (who does that) maybe it's a new concept. I'm not feeling it. I'm going to drink this beer, pay my ticket and walk out with a smile. I didn't try the tacos and don't know if I have a return visit in me.

Yelp
Okay this place was awesome!! I know there are so many taco places in Austin, but I feel like this one is not talked about enough! We came in on a Friday for lunch, and let me tell you this place was packed! Almost every table was filled, and we got the last table available. The inside is super inviting and lively, and the service was spectacular. Our server came to our table multiple times to check on us, and probably refilled our waters 4 times, but always came by when it was approaching being empty! For the tacos, we got the carne asada, pollo asada, and Al pastor. They were all spectacular! I also loved how much protein was in each of the tacos. I'm always so disappointed when tacos have a small about of the protein, but taco flats definitely didn't go easy on filling up the tortilla! I think my favorite was the pollo asada just because it was packed with flavors, but again all were awesome.

Yelp
That michelada brought me back to life, y'all! (And I didn't even get mine with beer. Tip: Sub the Mexican beer with Topo Chico or mineral water for the same taste, carbonation, and with better hydration!) So glad Katie B introduced me to Taco Flats. We posted up to the bar and ordered a trio to start: salsa, queso, and pico. And to continue nursing the previous night's mistakes, we also ordered agua chile and a stack of pancakes. The queso, chips, salsa and miche were my favorites; while the aguachile certainly had the flavor and spice, the shrimp in our dish was only butterflied, which made it difficult to eat with chips and plastic utensils. Cutting it fully in half would made it easier to eat. On that note: They use *a lot* of single-use plastics. Almost everything came in a plastic tupperware dish, plastic utensils, and straws. Not a fan of that. Would love to see that improve in some way.
google avatar

Heather Y.

Yelp
Saw this on Michael Symon's show - queso was very good. The gringa taco was also good. Lots of variety with pollo asada and beef tongue. Super unique and messy tacos - but it's probably a one and done for us unless it was just queso and drinks. Definitely worth a trip to try new tastes.

Yelp
First time to taco Flats... And I would not recommend this location first of all. I ordered some happy hour queso which was two dollars off. Pretty cool. They handed me rockhard queso and I was able to hold it upside down for longer than five seconds without any of it dripping out.... I'm from Houston and I'll let you know I've never had queso like this... It was a weird time to stop by considering all Employees were in between shifts and I was left alone at the bar for 20 mins.. I'll pass next time. Thanks 1 star cause I had put something.
google avatar

Yelp
Great margarita joint! Would definitely recommend getting a frozen with the Chile rim as least to try. Not too sweet or sour, good mix! You can also get it to go for a nominal fee but seems like it would be hard to keep the frozen consistency to-go unless you drank it right away. The tacos are also pretty darn good too! Only had like 2 diff tacos but their menu is pretty big, would love to come back and try some of their other tacos. Good location, tucked away some blocks from W 6th. Interesting neighborhood feel!
google avatar

Erin B.

Yelp
The restaurant was so smoky that we couldn't sit inside, so we had to sit outside in 100 degree heat. I felt bad for the staff and the cooks working in the back because it must've been hard to breathe. Service and food was excellent though despite the smoky conditions.
google avatar

Pete X.

Yelp
Simon M, what are you talking about??!! Based on yelp reviews you guys sell cheese bricks and call it queso and your temperatures are off on multiple dishes --this is coming from patrons who actually dined at your restaurant and have pictures to prove it, not just 3rd party delivery apps!!!! Get it? Your rude response to my initial review further shows that yelpers complaining about less-than-mediocre service might have a legitimate point because it seems to come from the top, down. Rest assured I won't be ordering here again, you didn't have to tell me that in order for me to do it!!!!
google avatar

Matt P.

Yelp
*sigh* I guess I should've tried the waffles. Both the birria and barbacoa tacos were very boring. Our 6 taco order also took about twice as long as one would expect, despite there being no other patrons present when we arrived.
google avatar

Kacey D.

Yelp
Wanted to try out something new and it was pretty disappointing. The price of the food doesn't reflect on the service The good: margaritas, chips, salsa & guac The bad: cold hard yellow queso.. which I thought was white when I last checked Yelp. Also I guess the prices already went up from the last time I checked too. The birria taco has potential but was really cold & the steak taco was so greasy. The brunette waitress only got us 2 rounds of drinks & never came back for our food order or another drink. We kept seeing her go into the bathroom & checking on her other only one top table and talking to her coworker and just flat out ignoring us. Eventually I waved her down so she could come take my order. A different girl brought out our food and then I saw her grab a drink from the bar & go sit outside without ever saying anything else to us.. not sure if I'll be back anytime soon after the terrible service and cold food

Yelp
Our first visit was to Carne Lente in Smithville, only to find out Taco Flats is the birth place of Carne Lente. Lots to offer on the menu....every great meal should start of great queso, and thats exactly what landed was a pick 3....its the best deal....Salsa, Queso and some killer Guacamole. Wife went with the Chori-Queso and the Carnitas Tacos.....I went the Barbacoa and Birria Taco...everything was banging good....with the Chori-Queso and the Birria being the stars. Service was great and super friendly.

Felipe A.

Yelp
THE FOOD WAS SHMACKIN. Quesadillas was bomb on fonemgrave. Y'all definitely should slide thru -Flip

Michael G.

Yelp
I've eaten here dozens of times and have never had a bad meal. The queso is always delicious. Breakfast/brunch options are great. People complain about the price on the tacos but the tacos are huge and tasty. The quesadilla is very reasonably priced for how much food you get. Honestly shocked to see so many people flocking to put down a good restaurant for completely inconsequential reasons, even leaving one star reviews after loving the food and service. Y'all need to get a hobby if hurting peoples' (genuinely good) restaurants on Yelp brings you joy.

Greer G.

Yelp
I love this spot. Super dog friendly, incredible service, consistently great food and more importantly they play phish music
google avatar

Meaghan S.

Yelp
Cozy place, with great decor, and outdoor seating! We really enjoyed the drinks (Moscow macho and the spicy frozen) and the pick 3 appetizer (queso, guac, and salsa roja). My only complaint is the dip appetizer was a lot of food, wish you could get 3 at a smaller portion. We wanted to try all 3 of those dips but it was just way too filling. We each got 2 tacos, to try multiple different ones: the gringa, birria las beasts, chilango shrimp (fried), and pirata. My favorite hands down was the gringa and my husbands fav was the pirata. I will note that one taco would be plenty if you get an appetizer like we did. So if you only want one taco, GET THE GRINGA! The cheese is melted directly onto the tortilla and omg that brings this traditional taco al pastor to the NEXT level. Attentive service, almost so much so that I felt rushed. All in all a great experience though and we will be back!
google avatar

Mateo Z.

Yelp
best tacos in Austin. great staff very nice people. big tacos with lots of meat way better than taco deli or salsa limone

Sonja S.

Yelp
Mediocre, overpriced food with VERY poor service. I've been going to Taco Flats (previously a delicious Zocalo) about twice a week for years since it is by my house and between the dog park and my house. It is purely for convenience because the food frequently tastes like reheated left overs and is way over priced. That said, Taco Flats is between my house and our local dog park so it is very convenient. Today I did my usual, called in my order from the dog park, when I rcv'd a text it was ready, we went over and I tethered my TRAINED, LICENSED SERVICE DOG in a shady spot by the windows while I ran it in get my food. Outside seating is for 50+ and there were FOUR people sitting outside nowhere near my dog. I was approached my MADISON the waitress who is also an expert in dog care who explained to me how unsafe it was to tether my dog in the shady spot I have done dozens to times previously. I pointed out that I had a to go order that was ready and that there were two other dogs, larger than mine tethered in EXACTLY the same manner outside. She then told me for safety she would need to check me out outside because I could not get takeout with my TRAINED, LICENSED SERVICE DOG outside. I've paid the ridiculously over priced fare here for years and suffered through the, at times, inedible food but this was just so unnecessary. Why treat customers in the condescending manner? So rude and the straw that broke the camels back - I will not return.
google avatar

Jill C.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place since it's close to where I live. I've heard good things, so was excited to try, but unfortunately was disappointed. The only tasty thing was the queso, but it wasn't super good. It was good enough though! I got the carne asada on flour and the catch of the day taco. The fish taco was good yummy, but the bottom of the corn tortilla fell out wjth my first so I had to eat with a fork. The carne asada "beef fajita" meat was super weird. The consistency was odd and it had a charred/burnt taste. I got a beer and my boyfriend got the Paloma and said it wasn't good. Super bummed because this is walking distance from my house!
google avatar

Andie S.

Yelp
I'm not sure why taco flats isn't more popular -- it's one of our favorite taco places in Austin, and there's some stiff competition out there! The spicy frozen margs and the chori-queso taco (with mushrooms) are favorites. Really good vegetarian taco options too! It's also a great option for taking your out-of-town friends who are looking for tacos bc it's a pretty cool vibe and great cocktails too, as opposed to other good taco options that are often more food truck style!

Andrew B.

Yelp
I stopped by to check out this place after getting my TV fixed at Bonds TV. The aroma brought me in. I had the barbacoa tacos on flour. The flour was homemade and barbacoa was good. I would try again. Friendly staff and good atmosphere.

Olivia P.

Yelp
Went in with low expectations TBH after seeing negative reviews about the service. Maybe we got lucky, but we were actually greeted promptly and had a good server who was a little flighty, but prompt and friendly. The dip trio was really good and larger than I expected -- 3 full sized dips. The guac was great, and the queso was thicker than what you typically get at a Mexican joint but had great flavor. We didn't have the issue of it being too thick/solid like some others have written. We also got the pastor and fish tacos. Both were good but I definitely found the pastor to have more flavor. Tacos are also bigger than I expected. Don't get more than one if you're also getting a larger app like the trio. The house marg was good, not great.

Yelp
This place was fine, I liked the makeover from when it was Zocalo, but it was just average. They now have beer taps. I had two tacos and the al pastor was better than the chicken adobo. The chicken was in weird large chunks and sort of tough, so I left some uneaten. Chips and salsa costs about $3.50, I wish it was included with a minimum $8-10 purchase or a something like that. The watermelon agua fresca was tasty. I'm on the fence about whether I will return, but I may.

Yelp
Great place to grab some food or drinks through the week! This place gets super busy on weekends and during happy hour. Also, counter service only until dinner hours (just show up and go to the left of the entrance to order) seating is cute and good for working. I am happy to have this place in the neighborhood! Definitely one of my new go to spots!

Walker A.

Yelp
Food was fine. Kind of expensive. Place seemed to be very out of order. I don't understand because the place wasn't even full. Took 40 min until I was asked what I wanted to eat. And then, they didn't provide napkins, silverware, or water. It felt like a worse version of chachos. Look, if you're going to serve this bad, slash those food prices in half. Cant be pricy and make it a bad time.

Yelp
Been hearing about this place from so many friends. Love the space and the food! The Pirata taco and the chips and salsa are must orders.

Preston S T.

Yelp
My wife & 2 kids & I tried this restaurant for the second time. The food was pretty decent, but the service & servers were terrible. I had a much better experience a few years ago at the original location. But I cannot recommend this one. We will definitely not be returning ever again.

Yelp
Arrived on a Saturday morning around 1130, patio was open only due to COVID-19. Good set up with a table at the door to order and they were taking safety precautions with workers wearing masks Service = NEGATIVE 5 stars if I could. My friend ordered two tacos before me. I got mine first and he waited 45 DANG MINUTES for two tacos and it wasnt even busy!! The lady working the front table 'accidentally' gave away his order to someone else. There are names and phone number for each order, he didnt get a text so I'm pretty sure they just didnt make his order! After 30 minutes of waiting my friend checked in with his order and they said they messed up and would make his 2 tacos asap...took another 15 minutes to make the tacos...are there scrubs working in the kitchen? At this point he should have gotten a refund or comped some tacos or drinks!! Not only was the service awful, this place was way overpriced for their tacos. Go somewhere else for better tacos!

Yelp
Chips and queso are great, their drinks are awesome, I got the oaxacan and the spicy margarita, highly recommend both. The chicken quesadilla was okay, the fried cheese on the side adds a nice taste.

Yelp
My bf and I came in on Tuesday, during happy hour, and 100% had a pleasant experience. Staff were attentive, and responsive towards our needs. We each had two cocktails, and you can taste the hand crafted love going into the drinks. All around, a great experience. Oh, and the tacos are AMAZING!

Yelp
Queso was very mid and kinda cold, tacos were big, cold and lack flavor but the margarita was decent.

Yelp
Came here for dinner with friends and I think this will become my new favorite taco spot. The Pick 3 for dips was such a great deal when coming with a group of friends. & 2 Tacos from here are definitely super filling and super packed. I was stuffed by the end of the meal. The wait staff was also super nice, really had amazing recommendations for everyone & I will be coming back for sure

Yelp
I moved to the Clarksville neighborhood in June and have probably been to, or picked up from, Taco Flats eight times since. To start your day, it is a great spot for breakfast (brunch) tacos. Some of their breakfast tacos have cheese toasted onto the tortilla inside which is 10/10. In the afternoons and evening it is the perfect spot for a drink, queso and tacos. I've tried several and my favorite is chicken mole. After eating chips and queso, one chicken mole is enough to fill me up. My boyfriend's favorites are the Al Pastor and the Carne Asada. Their margaritas are delicious and refreshing. Also! Wonderful green salsa that goes with anything. My mom took all the leftover salsas home from our table when she joined me.

Yelp
Taco Flats is absolutely yummy. A bit pricier then Maudi's but a whole lot better quality. My favorite is the gringo which features a pork taco, with pickled onions, mango, and yes toasted cheese into the tortilla This technique takes Taco Flats to another dimension. The chicken flautas combined with queso is a fantastic combo. I find I do not need to order more then two items to feel satisfied. Each taco is stuffed to the brim with goodness. The habanero sauce spicy but oh so good on any of the taco items. Bye Bye Maudi's Cafe.

Yelp
I got delivery of a slightly larger order for my first time trying this place. I don't know why I had bad expectations, but I absolutely love the food. The tacos and the quesadillas are hearty. Greasy, but hangover food kind of greasy. The chips are super flavorful and you can tell they use residue from cooking the meat from the tacos. It's jam-packed full of flavor and it's such a great cheat day meal. My favorite taco was the gringa. Love the sweet acidity of the pineapple. 5/5!

Yelp
I have been coming here almost a year as I live in the neighborhood. The food and drinks are great but the service lately has sucked. You will wait a while to order and for refills. I sat down for lunch today before going to work with my boyfriend and waited to order for over 10 minutes while the waitress who had only two tables gossiped with another table the entire time, never greeting us. We had our entire order ready to go. We walked out because I couldn't be late to work. I worked as a server for a long time and this is not acceptable to ignore your other tables while talking about trips to Cancun for 10 minutes. There were other workers who saw us sit down and brought water but didn't bother to check if we were ready. I hope this improved as I really liked the place.
