LeBron James Seeks Trademark for ‘Taco Tuesday’ | Eater

"A Wyoming‑based fast-food taco chain that claimed the 'Taco Tuesday' trademark roughly 30 years ago and has aggressively defended it, reportedly sending hundreds of cease-and-desist letters to restaurants and other businesses that attempted to use the phrase. Because of that long-standing, enforced trademark claim, anyone seeking to commercialize or re-register the term today could face legal pushback from the chain." - Greg Morabito

Taco John’s Sends Brewery Cease-and-Desist Over Taco Tuesday Trademark | Eater

"A fast-food chain with roughly 400 locations concentrated in the Midwest and Mountain regions that legally owns the federal trademark for the phrase “Taco Tuesday” (registered in 1989) and has aggressively enforced it with hundreds of cease-and-desist letters. The company publicly claims to have originated the concept and treats the phrase as part of its brand DNA, using the mark prominently in marketing. Legal commentators, however, consider the trademark weak and at risk of genericide given the phrase’s long, widespread use dating back decades, and historical uses and earlier state trademarks complicate the chain’s exclusive claim." - Jenny G. We’ve been coming to this Taco John’s every Tuesday after my daughter’s therapy, and it’s quickly become a weekly tradition we really look forward to. The staff here are genuinely some of the nicest people we’ve encountered at any fast food place—friendly, patient, and always upbeat. It feels like they have a great team culture behind the scenes, and it shows in their service. The tacos are delicious—so much better than Taco Bell! On Taco Tuesday, they’re not only affordable, but they’re also generously filled and full of flavor. You can tell care goes into making them. It’s hard to beat the value and quality here.

It started as a simple craving—just a late afternoon detour on a summer day—but what we found at Taco John’s in Leominster was something unexpectedly sweet, warm, and unforgettable. From the moment we stepped inside, we noticed the difference. The space was spotless, bright, and inviting—one of those places that feels like it’s smiling back at you. The air smelled of freshly fried tortillas, grilled steak, and warm spices. Behind the counter, a cheerful team greeted us like old friends, offering patient guidance and genuine grins that made us feel totally at home. We ordered the Four Cheese Steak Quesadilla Combo, which felt like biting into a melted dream—rich, cheesy, and perfectly crisped on the outside with juicy steak folded into every corner. The chipotle lime fried chicken tacos were bold and tangy, packed with crunch and flavor, and had just the right zip to make you take an extra bite even after you’re full. Of course, no Taco John’s visit is complete without the iconic Potato Olés—golden, seasoned just right, and served hot like they knew we’d been waiting for them all day. We both got a helping and didn’t leave a single one behind. And then—like fate—Camden got to spin the prize wheel. The wheel clicked dramatically before landing on a free fried chicken taco, which honestly felt like destiny rewarding us for our good taste. It was a little moment of joy that made everything feel a little more magical. Sometimes fast food is just fast food—but sometimes, it’s a perfect little memory dressed in golden potatoes, warm tortillas, and friendly smiles. Taco John’s in Leominster gave us more than a meal. It gave us a story. And we’ll definitely be back for another chapter.

On my travels to Mass today, I had seen a new place I had never heard of. I decided to try it and am glad I did. The service was amazing. The employees were pleasant and helpful, willing to be patient as I looked over the menu. I ordered what one kind worker suggested, and it was delicious! I would definitely make this a pit stop on my future travels. Keep up the amazing work. It was also a delight to see a clean establishment and clean bathroom!! A+++++

We were looking for a good, quick meal, walked into the Leominster Taco John's and it was better than I expected, by a lot. The staff were friendly, the food was good, the location was clean, everything was fantastic.

Yelp
Whoever opened these Taco John franchises in Massachusetts shouldve chosen to open Del Taco instead LOL. This was the first time Ive been to a Taco Johns. I wanted to try the tacos and compare them Del Taco and Taco Bell. The crunchy tacos with ground beef are meh. The meat was not greasy so the hard taco shells maintained integrity. Unfortunately the flavor of the meat was weird and not to my liking. I had to drown it in taco sauce. The positive for me were the soft tacos with grilled chicken. I modified them to have diced tomato and guac only. I then added hot sauce. These were delicious. The grilled chicken was very good and had nice flavor. I would get these again. The churro was delicious. They also have diet mountain dew on fountain which is a plus for me LOL. Service was good. Kiosk ordering is awesome. I love being able to make my own modifications. Restaurant is clean. Seating area is small. More positives than negatives which is why i gave it 4 instead of 3 stars.

Yelp
I'm a big fan of Taco John's and think it's a nice addition to the Leominster fast food scene. The food tastes higher quality than Taco Bell. The potato olès are so good - think a bucket of mini hashbrowns from McDonald's. It typically takes a few minutes for the food to be ready, but it's always hot and tastes fresh.

Yelp
I was looking forward to the opening of Taco John's in Leominster, now open. Having spent 30 years in CA and eaten a lot of fast food Mexican at Taco Bell and Del Taco (Del Taco is my preference) I was expecting something equivalent. I was very disappointed. The mango shrimp tacos (currently 3 for $6) were, in a word "terrible" , and I am being kind. I was was served a gooey, mess where the shrimp were unrecognizable as shrimp without any shred of shrimp taste. Oh, there were also pieces of mango, some cabbage, perhaps some tomatoes (I don't remember), pieces of cheese and a piece of lime to squeeze on it. If I were to base my assessment of Taco John's on this dish, I would never eat there again. A good shrimp taco is delightful. This was not. Perhaps they were having a bad night. After all, they have only been open 3 weeks. I also had a single crispy beef taco, which was OK. It had seasoned beef, with some hints of a Dorito flavor. If I needed a beef taco fix, Taco John's could fill the bill and my review would be more positive if the shrimp taco's were not on the menu. The drive-thru was pretty slow. There was no line and it took 4 minutes after paying for the food to arrive. This would have been acceptable if the food were special. Again, they have only been open 3 weeks. My recommendation is stay away from the shrimp tacos. There is of course other fare to sample, burritos, quesadillas, salads, etc.

Yelp
I stop here on my way back from a job site every week and it's become my new go to spot for lunch. To start the environment is great we are greeted as we walked in, also the food was amazing clean and full of flavor. All the portions are well sized as well. I highly recommend this to anyone if you haven't tried it you won't be disappointed by the service and staff.

Yelp
Food was tasty but the service was the highlight for me. The manager was the nicest man on earth. The resteraunt was very clean and the food came fast. Would give 6 stars if I could!

Yelp
Zero stars. I'm a Midwest gal and grew up eating Taco John's. Their food is amazing from the tacos to my absolute favorite taco burger to their amazing potato oles. When I heard they opened two locations in MA I was beyond excited having moved to the East Coast 30+ years ago. Taco John's should stick to the Midwest. Both the Lawrence and Leominster locations are an insult to the brand. Nothing seemed fresh. Potato oles were so over cooked they were inedible, oily, and borderline rancid. Their $5 "super burrito" was an absolute joke with no fillings (see photos). Five. Dollars. I know they get their seasonings from the company but the meat just didn't taste like Taco John's (I've been back to the Midwest in the last year, ate Taco John's a few times, and can confirm it's the location, not the brand. The Iowa and Nebraska locations are just as good as I remember growing up.). There was zero quality control. Sauces were spilled over everything in the bags. The taco salad was soggy from water logged lettuce. Items were not as ordered. It was just bad both times. I'm so disappointed. Their online ordering/pickup process is overly complicated as well. You have to check in on the app when you get there or they can't find your order. It's hard to explain but it just wasn't user friendly at all. I contacted the franchise through the app to complain and was completely ignored. Nice customer service.

Yelp
Yea it was okay... The service was really nice and friendly. The food was all right . The self-serve soda was congested and sticky..

Yelp
If i had to describe the food here i would describe it as an explosion of flavor that only a retard could feel. It's a wonderful experience that only the favelas of Brazil could match. The servers don't smell as bad as one would expect. Wonderful establishment, i will definitely not nut inside the tacos again!

Yelp
Visited for the first time today, I wished I had gone earlier. Service was quick and efficient, the manager was friendly and helpful. I would say it is kind of between Taco B and Moes. The big burrito was very full of good quality ingredients and the store was very clean, a decent value. Overall a good option with a decent amount of menu offerings.

Yelp

Yelp
We ordered a chicken soft taco, a beef soft taco and a churro. I asked for only sour cream and guacamole on my. Hi Jen soft taco-up-charge for both! No tomatoes on the tacos (although it is the standard in any soft taco. No guacamole on my chicken soft taco even though we paid extra. Churro was overcooked. Zero napkins in our to go bag! We won't be back!

Yelp
I was at opening day festivities and the food and service was not up to par. The counter help were not trained and he food was ok, but didn't get order correct. The dining area was clean1/6/24, returned to give them an another try. I ordered a steak super burrito and 2 crunchy tacos. The burrito had 6 minuscule pieces of steak smeared with a small amount of beans and cheese with 4 pieces of tomato and dead shredded lettuce. Wrapped in an oversized tortilla that look more like a soft taco from Taco Bell. Super lame. Tacos were crunchy and thin. Over $10.00 and left hungry. Went next door to Wendy's and grabbed a biggie bag for the ride to Boston. This place will not last the year. The special advertised was 6 tacos and a pound of potato puffs for $17.00. What a rip. Language barrier at counter when ordering. ESL course needed. 10 crew members watching the manager clean an oil fryer only speaking Spanish. I love Mexican food and spend much time in Quanta Roo. Sad taco face

Yelp
gave me bubble guts almost instantly really disappointed with the food and it took forever I sat and waited for my food for about 10 minutes. Never again for me

Jasmine M.

Yelp
Terrible customer service No hairnets I stand in line for over 30 minutes and a person looked at me four times and did not come up to me , Terrible customer service.

David B.

Yelp
When compared to other "taco" fast food chains, Taco John's beats them hands down. The offerings are so much tastier thanks to the fried potato ole's. If you're looking for gourmet quality, this isn't it but if you're looking for something quick and tasty with a "southwest" flavor, Taco John's will provide. So happy that they are opening stores in Mass. and hopefully they will expand so I don't have to drive almost an hour for my TJ's fix!

David S.

Yelp
Good cheap eats. Fast and friendly service. Try the nacho chicken crunch burrito :-) new location; I prefer it over Taco Bell.

Dawn H.

Yelp
Great for fast food! Very flavorful. Enjoyed everything we had. More Del Taco style than Taco Bell. Restaurant was clean, though the floors were a bit greasy. Service was very friendly!

Melanie B.

Yelp
