The 18 Best Restaurants & Bars In Puerto Vallarta

"In Mexico, you’re never far away from good tacos. But there’s a reason you should make the 30ish-minute drive out to Tacos Junior: this stand on the side of the road has some of the best tacos al pastor you can find in the area. Order as many as you want, but start with two or three to keep the tortillas from getting cold and soggy—we know this might feel impossible, especially if you’re really hungry. You could also try the gringa option, which is practically the same as al pastor but includes cheese. Top them all off with a splash of lime, cilantro, chopped onion, and the very spicy habanero-pineapple salsa. " - debora mestre

Extremely busy and sometimes have a small wait for a table. Food is fresh and flavorful. Very reasonable for the amount of great food you get. If you want quite and cozy, don't go here! Want a wonderful experience with great food, then this is the place!

This dive is what you hope you’ll find in Mexico. Lots of people lined up to eat al pastor off of the flaming trompo. Very good tacos for cheap!

Top 3 pastor in the country. Corkage fee? Just a 12-pack (from the OXXO next door) for the staff. 😎 Top 3 pastor del país. ¿Corkage? Una docena de chelas (del OXXO a lado) para el staff. 😎 #Pastor&Pauillac

The food was great—we ordered the 1 kg fish with rice and salads, and it was plenty for four people and tasted amazing.

Not your typical tourist stop (and not trying to be). Street food right on the main drag through La Cruz, you can’t help but notice it’s always packed, there are folks waiting for take out, and the guy slicing the fired pastor (and pineapple) right out front is as much artist as he is line chef. Grab a dozen pastor tacos and a side of nopales, walk to the beach or marina, and watch the sunset.
