Beautiful location for this growing Mexican Indian fusion franchise. Will forever love the Garlic Naan Chicken Tikki Masala Tacos. It is an amazing fusion of buttery spicy & tangy light street food concept I can get behind.

Ambiance (4/5): Nicely lit on the inside. The music was way too loud and also cut in and out, which ruined the dining experience. NO BATHROOM. There are however plenty of hand sanitizers at each of the tables. High top tables for dine-in. Service (N/A): Order at the counter and the food was served reasonably fast! Samosa (5/5) – 3 pieces. The samosas came out later than our entrees but I can tell they were made fresh how piping hot they were. I also saw them premade before they cooked them (not sure if made in-house or what)They are enormous and stuffed with great flavor. The 2 dipping sauces that it came with were a nice addition. Chicken Masala Naan Taco $12 (5/5) – wow the naan is delicious—thick, soft, and held the entrée on top very well. Eat fast because the sauce definitely seeps into the bread by the end of the meal. The masala was wonderfully flavorful and generous pieces of meat. The meat was slightly on the larger side/can be a bit dry. Nevertheless, really loved the dish. Saag Paneer Bowl $16 (5/5) – super creamy and delicious. I thought the portions were large!

Got a chicken tikka masala naan taco & chicken curry masala naan taco (one of the naans was a bit charred 🥹) + masala fries. Both delicious! Just! If getting naan as your base, be prepared for it to be a bit clumsy to eat bc the filling kept coming out!! Otherwise, the cashier was so helpful bc the menu has soooo many delicious sounding choices. Would be eager to try other options on the menu in the future!

Taco Mahal is a must-visit! The cheese and garlic naan chicken tikka masala taco was incredible—soft, garlicky naan with rich, flavorful chicken tikka masala. The staff were friendly, accommodating, and made the experience even better. Great food, great vibes—highly recommend!

I have been excited to try this place for so long! Overall it’s was a decent fusion spot and I love the concept. The food was decent, onion pakora was decent but there wasn’t much sauce with it. I got the garlic cheese naan with the lamb curry and it was very filling since they didn’t hold back with the portion sizes. The lamb curry was really good however I wish it had a little more flavor and was spicer. Overall I would get this again. The only thing I would do differently is get a regular garlic naan instead of a cheese garlic naan since it didn’t add much to the overall taste. I also wish they had more seating but it was a small space.

This place is soooooo good. I got the cheese naan and it was amazing. The food and the vibe is great. I’ll definitely be coming here again. So so good! And the service is great too!

It's an excellent spot for a quick bite, with well-packaged food and timely service. The food quality is impressive, and the portion sizes are generally satisfying. However, for certain dishes, I recommend inquiring about portion sizes ahead of time, as you may need a double portion depending on your hunger. The only drawback is the extremely limited seating space, which can be quite congested. While it's understandable given the NYC location, the seating arrangement—three benches and two side tables—only accommodates a few diners. Additionally, I was disappointed that they stopped accepting orders for their rice dish after 9:40 PM. I also didn't notice any free Wi-Fi available for guests, and parking is a challenge with only street parking options available in NYC.

I wish you could SMELL the amazing Indian food being cooked here. Wow!!!!! My friend and I meant to come for dinner last night but I got sidetracked. So yes.... Ordered it to go for the plane ride home. Cannot wait! Inside dining at tall tables and take out n

I had enjoyed the food at the original Taco Mahal, so we decided to check out this location after seeing Moulin Rouge. When we arrived around 9 PM, the place was empty, so finding a seat was no problem. Service was quick after we placed our order, and the food was decent. My bowl was mostly good, though one element of the saag tasted a bit stale. My daughter and husband had tacos and were satisfied with their meals--nothing extraordinary, but enjoyable. Overall, this spot is a convenient option for a quick bite.

This is one of my favorite places in the city. They had me at lamb! I did not know it was as popular as it was. A friend who worked in the neighborhood introduced a few of us here. It's open late and that's major to grab some food and sit and chill. The food is also consistent, very flavorful with good menu and prices of things to pick and choose from. If with a group or by yourself a great way to try different things. This isn't a large place so when I say group and sitting down I mean a small 3-5 people. You have to catch it at the right time for seating but for the most part you can find at least one seat. I like going whether it's in the summer and the window part is open or when it's not a brisk day. It is about 10 minutes or so walk from Times Square station. It's worth the walk but something I have to think about if it's NY cold. The food is ALWAYS worth it. I love the naan and/or roti tacos. I usually get chicken or lamb. The chicken curry gives and is well seasoned how I like curry chicken (yes different but the spices and blend are done very well. I know my Jamaican family would try this spot and they are picky.) I have no cons. The menu and prices are affordable. When I first went it was about 4 of us 2 of us new to the place and tried just about everything across the taco menu about 2 or 3 years ago. Since then it has not disappointed and that says a lot about the place. It's a real chill take out or dine in spot and I enjoy myself when there. This is not a restaurant so keep that in mind. I see a lot of pick up orders here but never tried I prefer going to this location. I may try the other one. I recommend whatever you want on the menu. I'm sure there are plenty of pics of all the good eats. Now that I'm writing the review I want to stop by. I look forward to returning soon.

Honestly, the food here is really solid--like, it's actually really good. The curry was above average. That said, when they say "Taco Mahal," don't expect much of a Mexican vibe. It's literally just a big piece of naan folded in half with curry inside. No tortillas, no salsa, just straight-up naan and curry. That being said, it's still amazing, and I'd absolutely go back. The appetizers were pretty good too, so don't sleep on those. The inside was bustling and super busy when I went, but that just added to the energy of the place. Definitely worth checking this place out!

My most favorite Indian spot ever LOVE THIS anytime in city is my go spot . Now my son move sit and my sister and bro in law . Flavors and service always on point

This was fun! Very neat fusion for fast casual. There is some seating inside you can sit and wait until your order is ready or eat there. Fun choice if you want something easy and to change up from your regular Indian order.

Food: 5 Service: 5 Ambiance: 4 Stumbled upon this place as we were exploring Times Square/Hell's kitchen and I'm soooo glad we did! We ordered the pakoras, 3 roti tacos (chicken tikka, chickpeas and shrimp), masala fries and then the shrimp basmati bowl to go (because we liked the shrimp so much!) The food was absolutely delicious! Fresh and flavorful. Service was great as well and you can tell they work really hard! Ambiance is neat. There are a few tables to sit in and there's a really neat mural. I absolutely would return if I was back in the area! Highly recommend!

I wish I liked these more, cause anything fusion always call out to me. I got the 3 Roti Tacos ($15), and you get to choose your protein. I got Chicken Curry, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Saag Paneer. I liked the Saag Paneer the best since the cheese blocks added an interesting texture, almost like a firm tofu. The other tacos were unfortunately way too flavorful for me. The Indian flavors resulted in more sauce, so eating this was messy, and the whole wheat roti did nothing in absorbing any of it. The Mango Lassi, though, was solid. I may try my luck with the Naan if I were to come back, as it was a chill casual joint.

I was skeptical at first; this seemed like a spot that sounds good in theory but wouldn't work in reality. I was definitely wrong. This is a fast casual spot that somehow married the flavors of Indian food with the concept of tacos and is every bit of tasty. Each taco is a good size and is generously filled. We went for the 3 taco combo so we could try different flavors and also ordered the Masala fries. Everything was so tasty and didn't require any additional sauce.

Yum! Nice little take out lunch place close to time square. Cheap and lots of food. Delicious. Small shop with some seating options. Food came out quickly and you order at the counter and you can get to go or stay in. There wasn't a line when I went in but I imagine this place gets busy during lunchtime.

Wonderful, flavorful modern Indian food. Great for any meal of the day or late night snack. Very cool mural inclusive of all Indian cultures. Fire playlist as well.

I absolutely loved the concept . Delicious Indian food made even better into a taco. Food was good overall and there are so many options. The venue is on the smaller side so it is hard to find space to eat on a busy day and it might be better as a takeaway or delivery. this is specially true since the staff was a bit on the rude side and there is no courtesy water (you have to buy a bottle) and there is no access to restrooms or even a place to wash your hands before you eat your tacos using said hands. Will be ordering from there but find a more accommodating place to eat the food in the future.

I haven't been to Taco Mahal in a while and decided it was time to stop in for a late lunch/early dinner. I looked over the menu and decided to get a bottle of water and the chicken Tikka masala and the salmon pakora both wrapped in naan. I could have also gotten either in roti. It is a small place with only a few tables and they do a lot of takeout. I was told to sit down and when my food was ready, they would bring it to the table. It arrived shortly after, and when I saw it, I began to wonder if I would be able to finish it. As what occurred the last time I was there, the food arrived hot, spicy and delicious. The staff was kind and accommodating, and I would recommend and return.

I have tried Taco Mahal at both locations but my experience in the Midtown location was mediocre. Starting off, I ordered their Pick 3 special in which I chose a cheesy garlic naan, paneer tikka masala, and 2 samosas. My friend did a similar order but with pakoras instead of samosas. Unfortunately, the order was just messed up. The naan had no cheese inside of it, I got a samosa chaat instead of the regular samosas I wanted, and the pakoras were filled with raw batter inside. When I went to complain to the girl who took my order, she started arguing with me saying that she got my order right even though I was showing her a receipt of the correct order. She told me that she would replace the chaat with the correct order but never did so, even when I was making clear eye contact with her. Although the food looks so good on social media, it did not live up to any of my expectations. The restaurant is small from the inside, so do not expect to get seating right away. Also, the tables are not regularly cleaned so be ready to eat on a sticky table and to sit on chairs that have food on them. I would not go to this location again. The West Village one is much better! 2/5 stars!

Great flavors and the food is tasty. Just a little too expensive for what I ordered. I came here off of a recommendation from someone I follow on Instagram and it wasn't the same as what the video showed. But the flavor was still really good. I'm not extremely knowledgeable on Indian cuisine but this was really good. Just weirdly expensive. It's not a deterrent but the Google maps icon showed that it was more on the lower-priced side so this is merely a heads up.

What a great concept of tacos served Indian style!! Would definitely recommend their naan taco. Freshly cooked naan and you can choose from various Indian curries like chicken tikka masala, chicken curry, malai chicken, saag panner, paneer tikka masala. We tried all of the above and everything was absolutely delicious!

Amazing we came last year before a broadway show. Have been wanting to come back. It didn't disappoint. Roti and Nan tacos out of this world. Don't miss this.

Have walked by Taco Mahal many times, but finally went to go try it out after seeing a few videos on social media about their Naan. My first impressions were that the wait was very long, but it was worth it. There was limited seating inside, but the time passed quickly as all of the aroma lingered. The Naan Taco was great. Creamy chicken curry on top of a large Naan. The curry spilled a bit, it is definitely a bit messy to eat. The Samosa was great too with the Chutney? sauce. Very flavorful.

I thought this was fast and yummy! Enjoyed the pakora and tikka was pretty standard American-Indian. No stand out dishes, but seems reliably enjoyable and I'd return if I found myself in need of a fast meal near Hell's Kitchen.

I came here recently with a friend, and it was absolutely packed on a rainy Monday for dinner. We somehow lucked into a seat, but I can easily see a situation where we would have had to take it to go. Just something to note! This is definitely meant to be a fast casual spot, so food came out pretty quickly. I got the basmati bowl with chicken curry. Overall, it was fairly good, with a decent portion size. The dal was good for mixing with all the other ingredients, but I wish the chicken curry itself was just more strongly flavored. It didn't taste like too much, and the chicken itself wasn't the most tender. Overall, decent spot for a quick spot, but definitely no point in making a trip out of it!

Came here for a more casual dinner in NYC. Convenient location in Hell's kitchen and nice interior and decor. Friendly service and food came out quickly. I had the tandoori chicken wings- very tender and great seasoning and flavor ($10 for 4 wings). Wish there was more seating inside but definitely would return and is worth a try!

DELICIOUS!! The Naan Taco is a MUST HAVE here - I got the Chicken Tikka Masala one, and the sauce coated the naan perfectly! We also got the shrimp biryani, which had the right amount of spice and paired well with the Mango Lassi drink - the perfect way to top off our meal! The service was quick and friendly. Would 1000% come back to try more!!

I had this place saved for a while, it's a cute order at the counter and have a seat spot -- I was not super impressed. It's literally vegetables / protein of your choice on top of roti or naan . And then you fold it and make it a taco. I visited for my first time and wasn't sure how to order. The cashier was polite, but she didn't do a good job at recommending. The food was OK but lacked luster as I needed sauce . Mango was very good not too sweet.

It was worth venturing out in the sleet to get food from here. I loved everything I tried! The combos seem to be the best deal. I ordered 3 roti tacos for $15 - chicken tikka masala, saag paneer and the chicken curry, which the employee recommended as the 3rd one. Not sure which one was my favorite! I was not prepared for the spiciness of each one, luckily I could handle it. They probably should warn you about that. We also had a lamb curry naan taco and tandoori chicken wings. They charge more for lamb. The lamb was perfectly cooked, not tough/dry, not fatty. The wings seem a bit expensive at 4 for $9.95 but they were a good size. There was barely any fat. They were perfectly cooked. I ordered when I got there and probably waited about 15-20 minutes. They were fairly busy - people eating there, people coming in to order and delivery guys coming in to pick up orders. There are a few high top tables for you to eat there. I wouldn't have stayed because it was so cold in there! Since I took my order to go it might have been better if the tacos were packed in a container than just wrapped in foil. They might not have seemed so messy. They did stay pretty warm while I battled getting home.

To start - the concept is cool but it's essentially just an Indian dish wrapped in naan, it's definitely more Indian inspired than Mexican inspired. The paneer tikka was alright, it had a sweetness about it which I don't usually love but I know it's generally more popular amongst the average person. The saag paneer was superrr good and not very oily. I would have given this place 3 stars had it not been for the naan, because it was phenomenal - super hot and fresh and cooked perfectly. The inside seating is very limited but they have a few covered tables outside and service is very quick.

The fusion we didn't know we needed. Inside is quite small but nicely decorated with Indian imagery and bright lights. Bollywood music drifting from the speakers. It's a fast casual type of joint, so be prepared to choose between roti or naan and a variety of fillings. I ordered a set of 3 roti tacos with tikka masala, malai kabob and channa masala and a mango lassi. Servers were very friendly and our order was delivered quite quickly! I cannot tell if it was because I was starving or not, but I absolutely demolished the tacos in store. (I apologize to the children who had to witness it) Each filling was well seasoned and the chicken include was nice and tender. There's some greenery and onions on top to cut through the richness and it was absolutely lovely. The lassi was completely classic. Good, sturdy base with mango flavor throughout. Maybe a bit too heavy to accompany the tacos but there are other drink options available if you'd like! Overall, would gladly recommend this place. One of the rare few places where the hype is absolutely deserved!

Chicken Tikka Malasa is like one of my favorite dish. When I saw someone posted this place in Tik Tok (which I am not on tik tok but my cousin is) I squeal in delight. We walked to the location & we made it to the location and the place looked really nice. I ordered my food to go and then proceeded to go to our other location. When we got to the hotel the food was delicious. The chicken and the sauce it's was so good.

Imagine Chipotle, but with an Indian spin (i.e. replace the tortilla with naan). The food is delicious and the service was quick.

Saw this place was recommended on various ig places. Unfortunately I just think it's too over hyped, the tikka masala was overly sweet, and the lentils and rice were way too watery. We didn't even come at a busy time. My friend who is desi couldn't even finish it lol! Also they have no bathrooms, which kinda sucks considering the tacos can get messy. Glad we tried it to get the curiosity out, but never again.

I was pleasantly surprised by the variety and quality of the food selections. Everything was tasty and a good portion size. The sauces were a little sweet for my liking, but still quite good. The service was pleasant and the atmosphere was quaint and clean with enough seating for small groups of people. I would definitely return to try other items on the menu.

I always enjoy coming here for lunch as the service is great and the food is yummy - this time i placed a to go order. I always get the masala fries and they never disappoint and I tried out their chicken biryani today and it was delicious - very fresh and the serving size was pretty big. I would say it could feed 2-3 people. This will definitely be going into my regular rotation

Fast service and dined in! It gets crowded later in the night for late dinner time around 8-9 PM. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala Bowl and Garlic Naan. I saw them making the Naan fresh in the back which was nice to know. I do wish the Garlic Naan was more flavorful with thicker pieces of garlic and fresh, as it looked and just tasted like a few flakes sprinkled and baked within. Other than that, chicken was tender and flavorful!

Th other location downtown was better than this place. Still a great meal but it didn't quite hit as well. I feel that the cheese wasn't as cheesy and gooey melted inside the naan. The curry was just ok. It was hot, but the other location was PIPING hot. So I feel like this location is a step down. Great meal. Tried the samosas, recommended by staff. Good, and hot, but nothing life-changing. Love taco mahal! One of if not THE favorite restaurant in the city. This location falls a little short of my expectations but still a great cheapish meal.

Food is amazing and the service is even better. I would 10/10 recommend this place to anyone who goes. I specifically recommend the chicken tikka Roti taco. Definitely a go to spot!

The naan taco is a great idea! I had the chicken tikka masala naan and it was flavored really well. I like my food more mild, but I wanted it to be a bit more spicy to balance the sweetness and wanted the chicken to be cut into smaller pieces to be easier to eat with the naan. My favorite thing was the masala fries. They were awesomely crispy, but still had the starchy center. They were also well spiced and topped with queso fresco. We also had the onion pakoras which were nice and crispy. Their chips, made out of Papadum, are lighter and thinner compared to tortilla chips. The vibe is fast casual and there is limited bar stool seating. The Taco Mahal Trio is also a great deal. I also appreciate their online menu has an explanation of each of the different items and list the ingredients.

There's a great 3 tacos for $13 deal. For vegetarians, the options are chole (chickpeas), saag paneer, or paneer tikka masala.

Got the chicken tikka masala and chicken kebab tacos. Loved them. The tikka masala has more spice if you'd like spicy. Would highly recommend this spot for an interesting Indian concept, would recommend to anyone looking for authentic Indian food in an interesting style.

Hole in the wall place, makes for a good late night take out or even quick stop. We ordered to go, which I think was not a good idea as our naan got drippy with all the sauce. We got the paneer tikka naan and chicken tikka naan. The portions were much bigger than I expected, its a burst of different flavors - sweet, spicy and sour. I wished it was less sweet though personally. If you are looking for a savory and quick meal, i would recommend checking out this place !

East Village style hole in the wall taco place. I was pleasantly surprised to find the roti tacos are pretty tasty. They have roti tacos (small sized, $5) and naan tacos (medium sized, $10). I got the 3 roti tacos for $13 which was a good deal. - tikka masala fries - really tasty especially with the mint chutney and tamarind sauce that came with it - saag paneer taco, pretty good though I added some extra sauce for flavor - salmon pakora taco, a little dry but good also - lamb curry taco, thought this one was just ok

Great roti tacis, very filling and Delicious. Fast food sort of sweet up though they have a fair bit of seating inside, but the taste and flavors were amazing We tried the paneer tikka roti, channa masala, mixed veggies and pakoras. Awesome across the board. Totally recommend this place

I love taco mahal!!! It is such a fun and unique place to go for a quick bite. The vibe of the place is definitely casual but the service is really quick. When I've been, there has been a short line but it goes by pretty quickly. My favorite thing to order is the naan taco with chicken tikka masala, but I definitely need to go back and try out other menu items. I'd also recommend modifying the naan to be a garlic naan or cheese naan. It's such a fun lunch place to go for an easy, to-go option. I'd recommend checking this place out because it's something I've never had before. I'll definitely be back.
