TACO ´N MADRE

If you're ever in the Conyers area and want absolutely delicious, authentic food, stop here. Gordita and tamales are my absolute favorite and they did not disappoint! I don't come by this way often, but I might have to start.

This was literally the worst Mexican cuisine that has ever entered my oral cavity. 1 star. Don’t eat here. It sucks. Best thing at this restaurant was the canned sprite. Here’s a real photo of what was SUPPOSED to be a chicken quesadilla. It’s literally boiled chicken wrapped up. DO BETTER.

The food is sooooo good, will definitely come back to try something else on the menu. 1000% recommend !

I recently revisited a Mexican restaurant I hadn’t been to in years, and I’m so glad I brought my fiancé this time! The food was just as amazing as I remembered—honestly, I haven’t had Mexican food like this anywhere else. They’ve upgraded a lot since my last visit and now have a new menu packed with options. First thing I checked was the health score, and it was a perfect 100—huge plus for me. The place was spotless and had a clean, welcoming vibe. Our waiter was super patient and helpful, even with a bit of a language barrier. All around, great experience. I’ll definitely be back again and again!

I called for pricing and ended up making my order through the phone. They were done five minute earlier than they said which makes me think it wasn’t as fresh as if it’d taken longer. I got birria tacos. They were really nice inside and it was a nice vibe. Got home and ate my food. Idk but something about it makes me not want to go back. They were good the first few bites. A little too crunchy for my liking and the consommé kinda threw me off. It wasn’t “nasty” but it wasn’t the best either. Maybe it was bad timing when I came because they weren’t very busy. Either way I’m glad I tried it because I like trying different places to see how they’re birrias are but I don’t think I’ll be. Returning customer. Try it for yourself though, I’m all for supporting local small authentic Mexican businesses 💯✊🏾

This is our second time at the restaurant and we have found a home for Mexican Cuisine. The service is as good and the Atmosphere is very pleasing. I would recommend this place a thousand times over. Come on over and enjoy reasonable pricing and excellent food. Enjoy!!!

This has been a local favorite for years. They recently expanded and now it’s so spacious. Service is always excellent, staff is very attentive.

The best Mexican food in all of Georgia. I've been living here from Tucson Arizona and south California and have been searching tirelessly for real authentic Mexican food and after 18 years I finally found it!!! The tamales and tacos with homemade tortillas make me feel like I'm at home You gotta come and check this place out

USED to be one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in the area UNTIL the management or ownership change. The lady at the front with the moustache has a really bad attitude. They've removed the salsa bar so when u ask they give you ONE regardless of how many tacos you ordered. Birria used to be the best here but I can definitely tell the difference cus the consommé is watery now instead of thick and full of meat like before. Definitely lost a long time customer with that attitude. My advice: try el futuro and don't even bother with this place anymore.

New owner ship I guess means higher prices lower quality. This used to be my favorite in the area. I called a week or so ago and asked about Taco Tuesday. I totally understand that prices have been going up. But when you want $2.50 for a hamburger taco! Yuck!! When did they start servicing hamburger?! If I wanted that I would go to Los charros or one of the other bland "Mexican" style restaurants. I went to this place for the authenticity.. save your time and go find somewhere else to eat.

Great food, small shop but lots of options. As a vegetarian I appreciate the ability to customize menu items to fit my dietary preferences.

Way OVERPRICED now!! $20 for 4 tacos. Just lost a longtime customer. I used to get this for just over $10. Sorry, not paying $20 for 4 tacos. Too many other options in area to eat for way less.

This place has really good Birria tacos! Plenty of parking. There is inside seating that is spaced out as well

They overcharge for everything, theyre very unorganized, dude at the front doesnt seem to know what he's doing, if you're doordashing they're not gonna start it until you get there. Overall, a shitty establishment in a shitty little complex that's difficult to even get into. don't waste your time.

I only came because of the reviews however I ordered the Birria quesadilla and he show me a picture of Birria Tacos and I told him that wasn't what I wanted. I asked to eat there. I didn't get any water no chips no salsa, when he brought my food he gave me exactly what I did not ask for Birria Tacos. I don't know if he didn't understand or he didn't want to take my order but it wasn't very customer service like. I politely asked for a container. I had to literally bag my own food up to take it to go and it didn't have taste to it it was so bland three tacos which I didn't want for $15. When he show me the picture I should've just turned around and walked out the door it wasn't worth it I didn't eat it and it was just a plate full of fat.

Wish I could give a zero. You give zeros to businesses that try to add unreasonable charges to your delivery order and when you call them to ask about it, they hang up. Try to call back and they're too afraid to answer your call because they know they got caught. After hanging up, they also lie and try to keep your money by indicating thar the customer cancelled the order. They do this because the customer has to still pay if they initiate cancelling the order. Luckily, I'm a long time and frequent user of that delivery service. All for want, below average food that is overpriced and gets the order wrong every time. I continued to use them occasionally because I like to support local business. Think about it. This place tried to add an unreasonable charge, hangs up when busted and tries to KEEP the money by lying that the customer asked to cancel the order. Wow. I think i'll write a daily review to remind current customers and protect future ones. Gonna copy snd paste on all the reviews I can find so consumers know. Ojalá pudiera dar un cero. Le da ceros a las empresas que intentan agregar cargos irrazonables a su orden de entrega y cuando los llama para preguntar al respecto, cuelgan. Intente devolver la llamada y tienen demasiado miedo de responder su llamada porque saben que los atraparon. Después de colgar, también mienten e intentan quedarse con tu dinero indicando que el cliente canceló el pedido. Lo hacen porque el cliente aún tiene que pagar si inicia la cancelación del pedido. Afortunadamente, soy un usuario frecuente y desde hace mucho tiempo de ese servicio de entrega. Todo por querer, comida por debajo del promedio que es demasiado cara y se equivoca en el pedido cada vez. Continué usándolos ocasionalmente porque me gusta apoyar el comercio local. Piénsalo. Este lugar trató de agregar un cargo irrazonable, cuelga cuando lo arrestan y trata de MANTENER el dinero mintiendo que el cliente pidió cancelar el pedido. Guau. Creo que escribiré una reseña diaria para recordar a los clientes actuales y proteger a los futuros. Voy a copiar y pegar todas las reseñas que pueda encontrar para que los consumidores sepan.

I've eaten here before and it was just okay. The wait was way too long. But my review actually is for the the last time I went in and only ordered a bottle of water. The female cashier took a guy's order before mine and he was after me. I don't know if it was because he's a regular or if because he was Hispanic, but it was rude and displayed horrible customer service! I will not be back and would absolutely not recommend this place to anyone.

Excellent. I ordered nachos with carne asada. Interestingly, I think they marinate their carne asada with pineapple, at least that'swhat I tasted today. So, that made for a very different flavor that I am not used to. However, having steak marinated in pineapple was a pleasant surprise but! I must say, I sensed a dedication to perfection and to authenticity. I enjoyed my meal. I will be back. I am so happy to have experienced this restaurant. in in something that has pineapple. So that made for a very different experience. Great job!

I was hoping to find some good tacos. I ordered the Birria which are my favorite. However, all 3 tacos were full of fat and not worth the 15$ I paid for them. They had no flavor at all. A total waste of time and money. Why upscale the tacos when you use cheap fat

So so good. Such quality tacos , perfectly seasoned meat and warm yummy homemade tortillas. Also a variety of salsas to play with at a mini salsa bar. I can't stay away from this place. No pic to post bc I eat it up too fast. Also - really pleasant staff. 10/10

This is one of my favorite spots in Conyers. They have great service, the gentlemen there is always there and always happy. The pepusas are amazing, the tacos are great, even breakfast options are delicious!

I ordered this and I'm sorry, it was not good. I ordered the Carne Asada and the meat was tough and that's being nice. I could not finish it.

Stopped by this little spot for the first time today and wasn't disappointed! This hole in the wall place is legit! The restaurant was very clean. Customer service was great. Service was fast. Food was flavorful and hot! This is the type of place to go if you're wanting some legit authentic Mexican cuisine and not the usual franchise TexMex that you most often find! You're not getting a number 11 here! The menu is plentiful but not overwhelming. Today I had two Al Pastor tacos and a chicken pupusas! Be the were great! As a nice bonus they have a salsa bar with multiple toppings to choose from! This is definitely on my list of places to eat from now on!

Steak on Torta way over cooked. I've been chewing for an hour before I decided to write this review. Quality was awful. Taco N Madre doesn't seem to take pride in the food as they once did. Fries also look like they were cooked in oil that needs to be changed.

Came up here for Spartan Race, and was craving some tacos after the race. Needless to say we hit the spot! There were so many great options had to go with multiple items. Carnitas Taco, Chicken tacos and Carne Asada quesadilla. Food was amazing. Love that the Quesidilla was crispy, my favorite part of the whole place was the hot sauce bar. I am a huge fan of sauces. Tried a little bit of each. The Habanero is definitely the hottest one! Well have to make sure we stop back on our next trip!

Coming from California I've been trying all of the Mexican restaurants to get a taste of home. I will say the best part of this shop is the Horchata. Homemade, super creamy, I wish I could drink it everyday! If you want real horchata not the soda version then this is the place to go!

An absolute gem in the city. Owner was awesome soon as I walked in the door. Pico de gallo and other salsas tasty and fresh. Spicy salsas I knew before hand would be spicy. Give it a try, don't wait to be seated, follow signs to the desk.

The carne asada taco was pretty good and tasted even better once I added sauce. The birria tacos however weren't very pleasant because they were loaded with fat and the consome tasted like straight beef broth in a bad way.

Taco N Madre = tacos so good you'll slap your mama. I think that's the rough translation but I don't speak Spanish, so don't quote me. Their tacos were INCREDIBLE and I don't even like Mexican food. At least, I didn't think I liked Mexican but this place has me convinced that I've been doing it all wrong. The boy and I were in the area looking for lunch. Yelp led us to a nondescript industrial plaza near Rockdale Tennis Center. The décor is more welcoming inside with its bright turquoise and orange walls decked out with Mexican art. The dining room was spotless with several tables and mounted TVs. It's one of those order at the counter places but it took us a second to get our arms around the large menu. All the food is made from scratch. Handheld items include tacos, burritos, gorditas, sopes, nachos, tortas, quesadillas, tlayudas, pupusas and flautas. The plates are made with your choice of meat (pollo, carne asada, barbacoa, carnitas, chorizo, al pastor or lengua) with rice and beans. We both got lunch special taco plates: two tacos with rice and beans...chicken for me and barbacoa for him. They looked like ordinary tacos but every bite was perfection. Soft, handmade corn tortillas...moist, spiced, slow-cooked meat...fresh herbs...a total flavor party!!! We washed it down with Jarritos and cane sugar Mexican Coke. The food was ridiculously cheap, delicious and we could taste the care that was cooked into it. Definitely check out Taco N Madre when you're in the area.

Paid 2$ for extra sour cream.. received a large container filled with a little bit of mayo in it. $4.25 for 1 small lengua taco is pretty steep for the fact it has no flavor. The pastor tasted decent and so did the carnesada but those tacos were only $2.29. If you want to get the best bang for your buck, you should head somewhere else. The customer service is also a joke. Getting orders wrong & rather then simply fixing it, they laugh and you & tell you that you're wrong.

The best and most authentic Mexican cuisine so far in the Conyers area. Our favorite dishes so far were the Chicken Burrito Supreme, Chicken Quesadilla, Chicken Tamales, Tortilla Chips, and Churros. The great tasting food, fresh made to order take out, and good customer service are why we will continue to return. Our children even liked the food and they are notoriously picky-eaters.

Best. Lengua. Tacos. In. Southeast. Period. Not Just Rockdale County. Not just Atlanta. The lengua tacos here are simply much much better than anywhere else. This is LA good. And you should come to eat what so many places aspire to create. Taco'n Madre is an Mexican restaurant with strong El Salvadoran roots. It appears to be family run and is in a non-descript plaza on Parker Road near Olde Towne Conyers. But make no mistake: this is expert food done yummy. The interior is OK with families and family members around. Univision on TV. Salsa and Reggaeton on the speakers. But the menu has a good mix of traditional Mexican and Salvadoreña food. So the vibe is already set right for good food. I had a chicken tamale -- amazing. Soft, light and freshly homemade that wafted great smells out of a corn husk. The Carne Asada taco was a fail. Way to inspired by Old El Paso and salty. But the lengua was incredible. Best I've had from coast to coast and I have reviewed tens of places that sell lengua tacos in the US. It was moist, juicy and flavorful. Best around. Get it now. Brag about it before this gets found by some national network. All in all great family owned restaurant with authentic home cooked food done with a deft touch. Those tacos, save carne asada, are as good as you will get anywhere. Eat, enjoy and savor.

This is literally one of our weekly spots! I'm originally from Sam Diego so I'm a HARD critic when it comes to Mexican food! Taco'n Madre is very authentic! They sell a variety of items from breakfast to dinner. We typically go on Tuesdays for their $1.25 tacos but I've eaten their burritos, tamales, churros... it's all good! I would definitely give 5 stars for food. However they get 3 stars because they aren't taking any Covid preventive measures. Workers are not wearing masks and the salsa stand is "buffet style" not a good option during these times. Outside of this however the food again is excellent and the staff is always nice

So yet again ended up ended up eating at somewhere completely unexpected tonight but this time due to very poor customer service at Outback. Outback told me it would a 5-10 minute wait for a table for ONE when the place was EMPTY.. so I left and came to my actually first choice i just didn't feel like driving. I'm glad this worked out because the food was great!!!! Very authentic and tasty. The salsa bar was excellent. I was there later on and many were out or low so that was a little disappointing but what I tried was very good. Located in a small strip mall. When I was there most of the other places were closed so there was plenty of parking.

I came here to get tacos for my girlfriend and I. I asked for 3 Mexican sausage tacos for myself and 1 chicken for my girlfriend. When my order was done, I noticed they didn't mark them so I told her they needed to be marked because we don't want to dig in each other's food. She took the bag and started to go to the back and I tried to tell her to just give the food to me (because I personally don't like my food being taken out of sight after it's made). She continued walking anyway and I saw her from the counter open my taco with her bare hands! And to my surprise nobody in the kitchen had on gloves. I told her I wanted a refund and she told me nobody knows how to give one. I told her to just give me cash out the register and the cashier proceeded to curse at me. So I walked out without food or my money and now have to report it as fraud on my credit card when it's done being posted... VERY GHETTO! Would not recommend

This is a very clean establishment. Ordered the quesobirria tacos and was not disappointed. The meat was tender and flavorful and the tacos were huge. Had small fat in it but that was not an issue for me. They provided consommé but it was not made with meat in it like I've had previously but again not a problem. Had horchata, tamarind and passion fruit drinks but no jamaica. I really wanted the jamaica but they also offered a variety of soda drinks. I like they had a salsa bar. The service was welcoming and polite. Will definitely be back.

One of my absolute favorite places to eat. I've literally never had anything I didn't like from here. Their Pastor tacos are DELICIOUS.

I want to thank the other reviewers for their extremely detailed experiences at Taco'N Madre; My husband and I just had an AMAZING meal and can't wait to come back for more! For starters... Please note, EVERYTHING IS MADE FROM SCRATCH! These fine people put. Serious pride and love into their food. We didn't have to wait long at all for our food to come out and it was very reasonably priced. I just wanted to point that out because it's RARE to find restaurants that actually prep and cook most of their offerings... I ordered the Alambre because sadly, I'm on a low-carb diet right now. No worriesthough because my food was freaking stellar! My husband was happy enough to steal the tortillas that came with my dish so, it was a win/win. He ordered a taco plate (Chorizo and Barbacoa) along with a Revueltas style Pupusa and lastly... He ordered a Pork Tamale. The gentleman that took our order said that he felt that the Pork Tamale his mother made was on the "small side" so, he gave my husband a Chicken Tamale (at no additional cost) as well, Lol. I'm laughing because the Pork Tamale was generous in size, in our opinion and my husband thought it was amazing. About the tacos... I tried the Chorizo meat with the cilantro/onion garnish and it was the best I'd ever tasted. I've ordered dishes at scores of Mexican restaurants with Chorizo and never really thought much of the sausage because it was always dry and didn't really "Add" anything to the flavor party. I'm now a FAN of Chorizo as the star ingredient, thanks to my culinary experience today! Try the Chorizo taco friends, you won't be disappointed. The Barbacoa taco was everything my husband had hoped for because my gawd, the meat was was so tender and the most flavorful brisket taco he'd ever tasted. Today was the 1st time my hubby had tried a Pupusa and he was super glad that he ordered it! He dabbled a bit of their home-made jalapeno cream/salsa on it and Holy Mackerel... Was it tasty! We'll definitely be back because I really want to try the tongue tacos when i have a cheat weekend and can eat all carbs. Haha... Please give this place a try.

what an awesome find. We are from Houston and now are tacos, this place knows their tacos to barbacoa and tacos pastor absolutely delicious owners were friendly and full of hospitality, definitely a gem worth looking for will come again.

The Food Was Absolutely Delicious! My favorite was the Carne Asada and the al Pastor Tacos....Mayo was soo kind and helpful in making suggestions on what to order, he was cheerful and very welcoming. My kids especially enjoyed their Chips with Queso Dip, we will Definitely be back! Thank you Mayooo!

BUYER BEWARE. These people are scammers and I'm not even kidding. The actual worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant and this was my first visit. Placed an online order and waited, my card was charged and I had a receipt. But after two hours I left without food or a refund. From the moment I walked in the girl at the register was rude and unhelpful. They refused to refund me and also refused to make the food because they didn't receive the online order. Even after asking to see a receipt which proved the location and charges. The craziest thing was after telling me they didn't receive the online order, i also placed the order inside at the counter and she told me to wait 15-25 mins for them to make it but only to walk back in and they didn't make the food and refused to refund the money. GET IT TOGETHER MANAGER. I would NOT recommend this establish to anyone. Your time and money will be wasted.

This is a good Mexican place. The salsas need a little help when it comes to flavor but the food is good. They have home made tortillas for the tacos which is pretty awesome! Everyone is very nice as well. They have the right concept because their food is good but it needs a little more flavor.

Superb food. Appears to be a mom-and-pop shop run by mom and son. Food is excellent; prices reasonable, for the quality and quantity. Can get a little backed up at lunchtime, but they offer delivery. People who like milder Tex-mex might find their food a bit too flavorful. For everyone else, it's fantastic

Love love this place!! You can tell they put TLC into there food from the salsa bar to everything that comes out the kitchen. The carne asada is outstanding like danm it melts in your mouth I swear it's good. They have some fat ass burritos too and they will customize them is you tell them which I like because I like everything inside my burrito. Sad that last time they didnt have any cokes from mexico though.

The steak tacos were delicious and authentic. However, we were sitting down for at least 10 minutes before we were waited on. Our orders all came at different times, were incorrect, and we waited about 20 minutes to receive our tacos. There was only one other table of customers there while we were eating, so it wasn't busy. Food was good, service was terrible. Also, they don't offer guacamole and they were out of avocados. And no margaritas.

The most authentic Mexican food I've had in years. Family ordered a variety of tacos, arepas, etc. Everything was delicious. Service was also friendly and fast (but not so fast that you thought it was microwaved). Will be back, many times.

Found this place on a whim, and we're happily surprised. Close to home, lovely staff, and awesome food. My parents were with us, and their normal Mexican choice was out of the way (thank God!) We each got burritos, all of the different. They were all fabulous. The tortillas we're very flavorful, and everything inside was delicious. We will be back any time we're home. My parents grabbed a menu and will be going now as well, on their own. Also...well stocked assortment of Mexican sodas. Love it!

Community jewel! Discovered Taco-N-Madre at the 2017 Taste of Conyers. The food was so impressive that I've taken my family there several times since. The chicken enchiladas are wonderful. The steak tacos (with homemade corn tortillas) are addicting! Love the condiment bar where you can spice up (or spice down) your order. I'm NOT a fan of corn tortillas, but I am now!! The service is very friendly and the young man who is there on weekends (don't remember his name) is always so pleasant to chat with. Keep up the good work and welcome to the neighborhood!

This is a no frills restaurante with low prices and great food. I ordered a supreme burritos with carnitas. They brought me warm chips and a unique dark salsa that was amazingly good. You can't beat warm fresh chips and homemade salsas. There is great little salsa bar with different salsas. I ordered sides of rice and beans to go with my burrito. It was all too much food but I love rice and beans to go with My Mexican dishes. The burrito was fabulous! He pork was very lean and had a great smoked taste. All the ingredients in the burrito was fresh. The rice and beans were nice and steamy and fresh. I highly recommend this place if you are looking around Conyers, GA for a place to get something quick. The value is incredible for the price.
